Tenille Townes’ New Song “When’s It Gonna Happen” Out Now

Tenille Townes’s new song “When It’s Gonna Happen” is out now, January 14th on all streaming platforms. Learn more about the new track below.

One of our favorite singer-songwriters in country music, Tenille Townes is finally back with brand new music. The songstress is following up the release of her song “Villain In Me,” with a new, vulnerable track. Townes shares her heart on the new song, “When It’s Gonna Happen,” out now.

The new song is a single-girl anthem in a least-expected way. In each verse, Townes shares her heart with fans. She laments about how it feels to be the only one not in love yet, asking about when it is going to be her time. A relatable concept for many of us, “When it’s Gonna Happen” is one of the most poignant songs in Townes’ impressive catalog of music.

“Sometimes I feel like I’m the last one standing // I look around and all my friends are falling in love // I’m scared to death I’ll end up empty-handed // Can’t be the only one thinking // When’s it gonna happen, happen to me // Know it’s supposed to happen naturally // When’s it gonna happen to me”

According to Townes, fans can thank themselves for this song coming to fruition! Thanks to the love the song got on social media, the budding star was able to release the incredible track.

Conner Smith: ‘Didn’t Go Too Far’- EP Review

Conner Smith’s debut EP, Didn’t Go Too Far is officially out now, January 14th, and available on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new music below and check out our full review.

Conner Smith, one of our favorite rising stars and 2022 Artists to Watch, has officially released his debut EP, Didn’t Go Too Far. Since signing his record deal in 2019, Smith has secured his spot as a country artist headed for stardom. In just six months, since he started releasing music, the singer-songwriter has garnered an incredible fanbase of supporters and cemented his move from songwriter to artist.

The new project features six songs in the collection, made up of three previously released tracks and three brand new songs. The record kicks off with a new song, “College Town.” Written by Smith independently, the song sets the tone for the rest of the project. The song is high-energy, honest, and lyrically focused, the perfect introduction to the EP.

“The next thing I know, a couple of songs I wrote got me a record deal // They put them out and sent me out to see how it made the people feel // Yeah me and my band hopped in a van to go play some college shows // and that’s why we’re here, so let’s drink a beer”

The record continues with Smith’s current radio single, “Learn From It.” Like the previous song, the singer lets fans know more about his story on this track. The song takes us through all of the mistakes and experiences we all go through as we grow up. Ultimately, the singer relies on the adage that we all learn from those things. The song allows us as listeners to learn more about the artist and his story.

Next up is one of our favorite songs off the record, which also happens to be one of Smith’s favorites as well. The title track, “Didn’t Go Too Far” is vulnerable and authentic. The singer laments about how it feels to lose your love, but being stuck in that small-town makes it nearly impossible to move on. The feelings that Smith brings in the listener in this song proves how incredible of a songwriter he is in his young career.

“There’s only one bar // There’s only one church // How do I move on, when I see you everywhere I turn // I can’t go anywhere to get away // and settle the heart // Because the one that got away didn’t go too far”

The record’s journey continues with the previously released “Take It Slow.” Giving off Sam Hunt vibes, the track is the romantic and hopeful song that this EP begged for. The song is smooth, nostalgic, and inviting. It depicts young love in a way that makes us all feel like we are experiencing it again for the first time. Smith first played the track for us during our live acoustic session and interview this fall in New York City. Check it out in the video below.

Of course, Smith could not put out his debut EP without “I Hate Alabama.” The song is the only track that Smith did not write, but the singer really brings life to the incredible tune. The slow-burn begins as the ultimate disdain towards Alabama Crimson Red Football team, but after one listen, fans will know that it is definitely not just that. Smith pours his heart out, sharing that the reason he truly hates Alabama is because he got his heart broken. Even Alabama-natives can understand that!

Finally, the record culminates with “Somewhere In A Small Town,” ironically the song that Smith often kicks off his live shows with. The song is fun, romantic, and enticing, all qualities that Smith also possesses.

Overall, Didn’t Go Too Far is a perfect example of how spectacular a debut EP can be for an artist. Smith is a breath of fresh air in country music. He knows how to craft a lyric like a pro, entice country fans across the spectrum, and create music that makes us all feel all pillars of a star in the making.

Brett Eldredge Releases New Song “Want That Back”

Brett Eldredge’s new song “Want That Back” is out now, January 14th on all streaming platforms. Learn more about the new track below.

Following the release of his newest Christmas record, ‘Mr. Christmas’, Brett Eldredge is sharing a brand new song with fans. Written in a time that felt uncertain for all of us, the singer speaks from the heart on this track. The new song “Want That Back” is out now.

The simplistic tune is one of those songs that strip away all the glitz and the glam to reveal a touching melody. Nostalgic, beautiful, and thought-provoking, Eldredge makes us all feel something in this song. We all have those moments in life that we wish we could relive over and over again.

According to Eldredge in his latest Instagram caption, the song came to him at a time that he needed it. “I woke up at 3am one night feeling the weight of everything going on in the world and I was overwhelmed,” he began. “I quickly recorded the words and the melody to the chorus as I tried to find comfort in the real and simple things in life.” The singer later added, “I hope this song makes ya think, I hope it helps ya reach for the real things that have made ya who ya are…I hope it’s some light in times of darkness.”

“Want That Back” is a song that is pure country music at its finest. Kudos to Eldredge on this release!

Kane Brown Drops Brand New Song “Whiskey Sour”

Kane Brown’s new song “Whiskey Sour” is out now, January 14th on all streaming platforms. Learn more about the new track below.

Brown first teased the track on Instagram on December 26th. The video features him in his kitchen lip-singing along to the first verse. Brown sings the chorus next to the speaker blaring the somber tune. The story centers around two young lovers talking about their forever until one day, much to the man’s surprise, she ends the relationship. What was once a drink they often shared together now becomes the liquid pain relief he needs to forget her memory. While drowning himself at the bar, he starts to wonder if her words matched her true feelings and if she ever loved him at all.

“So now I take my whiskey sour // Sitting barside after hours // Thinking how can I get over // If the love was never ours // Hell, I know you got my message // All my X’s and my O’s // And it kills me by the hour // Now I take my whiskey sours alone”

Penned by Josh Hoge, who has written many other songs for Brown including “Used To Love You Sober, “Cool Again,” and “One Thing Right,” alongside Adam Craig and Jaxson Free, the writing is clever and often poetic. While the chorus takes place in present day, the first verse paints detailed a picture of the high point of their relationship, and the second takes the listeners back to the night they first met. The rhyme scheme is super catchy, and the light acoustic guitar melody mixed with a heavy dose of fiddle makes this a neo-traditional masterpiece; a sound Brown has slowly been fading from. Right when you think he’s abandoned his southern roots, collaborating with pop-stars such as Khalid and Swae Lee, blackbear, and  H.E.R., he comes right back with this beautiful, heart-wrenching country ballad.

With his seven-track mixtape and all these new singles, fans can expect the announcement of a new album in the near future. For now, you can catch Brown on his Blessed and Free Tour with supporting acts Chase Rice and Restless Road, which happens to stop in New York City at Madison Square Garden tomorrow night at 7 pm. For tickets, head to his website.

Thomas Rhett Drops Two New Songs Ahead of Upcoming Album

Ahead of his upcoming album Where We Started, superstar, Thomas Rhett dropped two brand new songs, “Angels” and “Church Boots.” Learn more about the new tracks below and click here to pre-save the album.

In just ten years, Thomas Rhett has emerged as one of the biggest names in country music. Rhett is known for being a talented songwriter, an incredible entertainer, and one of the most humble artists in the industry. Yesterday, January 13th, Rhett took to social media to surprise fans by revealing that his sixth studio album, Where We Started, will arrive on April 1st. The 15-track collection includes all-star collaborations with Katy Perry, Riley Green, Russell Dickerson, and Tyler Hubbard. Pre-save Where We Started here.

Additionally, Rhett shared that not one but two brand new songs would be released ahead of the project, giving fans exactly what they want, more Thomas Rhett music.

Today, January 14th, Thomas Rhett gives listeners a taste of the upcoming record with two new tracks, “Angels” and “Church Boots.” The former is a heartfelt ode to the love of his life. The track is likely a dedication to his wife, and often subject of his songs, Lauren. Written by the singer with Julian Bunetta, Jaten Dimsdale, and Josh Thompson, “Angels” may be one of Rhett’s best songs to date.

The song is reminiscent of old-school Thomas Rhett. It is in line with new tracks, such as “Country Again.” The songwriting is a standout, as the singer laments about being undeserving of the incredible love he has found.

“You shoulda slammed the door, changed the lock and said adios // To my selfish heart tore it apart and left me alone // Don’t know why you were patient and wasted good savin’ on me // Maybe angels don’t always have wings”

For fans who love the more rowdy, celebratory side of Rhett – “Church Boots” fits the bill. The song begins as a slow burn and explodes into a fun-loving track on the first chorus. It is hard not to love this song, as it was penned by Rhett with songwriting-greats, Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley, and Ernest Keith Smith (Ernest). “Church Boots” is one of those songs that is going to amplify Rhett’s already incredible live shows!

“Yeah my old guitar is my new guitar // And the hole in the wall is my only bar // And the jeans with the rip in the knee are the ones that I wear on Friday night // And my t-shirt is my good shirt // Makin’ money and I party on the same dirt // Go straight from the farm to the bar to the back row pew // Yeah my work boots are my church boots // Church boots”

If these two new songs are any inclination for what Rhett’s new record is going to sound like, fans are in for a real treat. The platinum-selling entertainer has carved a lane in country music that will forever be his. We look forward to April, when Where We Started comes out!
