Country music duo, Seaforth pulled off the unthinkable in their new killer collaboration. After drawing inspiration from Sean Kingston’s, “Beautiful Girls,” for their brand new song, “Queen of Daytona Beach,” the duo collaborated with Kingston, himself on the new jam.

“A glass slipper stepping out of her daddy’s Jeep // I’m thinkin’ never mind 99 degrees // Every guy inclined to drop everything for that girl // The queen of Daytona Beach // Bad, lookin’ like an ad in a magazine // Lips sippin’ on a drink that she got for free // Yeah, the world it turns but it just stopped for me and that girl // The queen of Daytona Beach // The queen of Daytona Beach”

5 Things To Know About Brett Eldredge’s New Album ‘Songs About You’

Brett Eldredge’s brand new album, Songs About You is due out TONIGHT, June 17th at midnight! Based on a recent conversation we had with the singer-songwriter, we are sharing 5 things to know about the new record and this stage of his life.

Country Swag's Stephanie Wagner with Brett Eldredge

Country Swag’s Stephanie Wagner with Brett Eldredge

  1. Sonically, this record is different than his previous four.

“I like to try and take every record to a different place any chance I can because I don’t want to do the same thing over and over. This record gave me that opportunity, and since Sunday Drive, it gave me the opportunity to dive deeper into what I do and go after the things I haven’t gotten to do yet. I really got to take some chances.”

  1. This project isn’t just for Eldredge, it’s songs anybody can relate to, and he wants it to be universal.

“This record was [such a] wide variety of emotions, and really, I thought to myself, ‘I write the songs, and I love to sing… but at the end of the day, these songs are about you. These are songs for the people that are listening to it. That’s why I do it, for that connection, and hopefully, helping people through their lives.”

  1. Being a vulnerable and authentic writer and artist is incredibly important to Eldredge.

“I was kind of trying to find that self-love and that kid that I kind of ignored for a long time because you’re just chasing your love for music, which is amazing, but you’re also chasing the pressures…. you want to make everybody happy. But I felt empty. So I had to do that work, and Sunday Drive was the start of that work for me. Songs About You is the [true] stepping into myself in a way I never even could have imagined that I could. Going through making this record, I’ve never felt more confident in myself, what I’m doing, the music I’m making, but more importantly, the kind of person that I am away from all the music. Being defined less by the work that I do and more so the person that I am.”

  1. The album’s closer “Where The Light Meets the Sea” was originally written for Sunday Drive.

“It’s the only older song for the record. It’s a song that I wrote five years ago with Jordan Reynolds… it was one of my favorite moments writing a song. We recorded that, and it was so good that we were gonna put it on Sunday Drive, but “Sunday Drive” [the song] was the heartbeat of that record and I wanted [this song] to have a big moment on a future record, so I saved it.”

  1. Eldredge’s music taste is incredibly eclectic and listening to music can be like therapy for him.

“If I’m not writing music as therapy, then I’m listening. I usually go to nostalgic music that makes me feel like there’s magic in the world. I love Louis Armstrong’s ‘What A Wonderful World’; it gets me to a great place. It’s like a gratitude song…. I’ll listen to some Sinatra, Ray Charles, that helps me get out of a funk sometimes. Music’s a magical thing.”

Who Is Alexander Ludwig? The Story Behind His Journey to Country Music

Who is Alexander Ludwig? The singer-songwriter joined us to chat about his journey to country music. Get to know the rising star here…

who-is-alexander-ludwig

Quick Facts:

Full Name – Alexander Ludwig

Birthday – May 7, 1992

Hometown – Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Musical influences – Alan Jackson, Lainey Wilson, AC/DC

The Beginning:

Today our spotlight shines on an entertainer that you may already be familiar with. Alexander Ludwig, an accomplished actor, is finally living out his dream of being a country music singer-songwriter. Despite what you may think you know about Ludwig already, we can promise you that you will agree that he belongs in country music.

“I grew up in Vancouver, Canada, but I spent most of my time in a place called Whistler Mountain,” began the singer. “When I first started to play guitar at 9 years old, I learned to play, and write songs, at a cabin in Whistler.” Ludwig credits the time he spent at an early age in the mountains, listening to country music with his family during the car ride, for his love for music today.

“So much about what I love about country music was just my love for the outdoors, the backwoods, and the simple things in life,” shared the singer. According to Ludwig, some of his favorites growing up were artists like Alan Jackson, James Taylor, and Garth Brooks. Nowadays, he appreciates artists that bring a modern take to the traditional sound of country music, such as Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wallen, and HARDY.

“My favorite artists in country music right now are the ones who manage to ride the line of, you can hear the influences from the past, but it’s a fresh take on that.” Of course, this is exactly the type of music that Ludwig set out to make.

The Turning Point:

Although Ludwig’s record deal might be fairly new, he has been creating and writing music his whole life.I’m a storyteller and country music is some of the best, if not the greatest, storytelling on the planet,” shared the artist, when asked about the connection between acting and music for him.

“Whether I’m playing an arena or a dive bar, makes no difference to me, I’d be doing this regardless,” Ludwig later added. It was evident from our conversation that whether fans knew about his music or not, the singer would always be creating music, just as he had his whole life.

When he first started taking trips to Nashville to write, he wanted the other artists and writers in the room to know how serious and passionate he was about his craft. “I want people from the country community to just see me as Alexander, the country artist. It has always been so true to who I am,” adding later, This was something I was doing whether or not I had a deal.”

Today:

For those who may not have already been introduced to Alexander, the country singer, fans are in for a real treat. Ludwig’s upcoming album Highway 99 is slated for release this August. “I named my album ‘Highway 99’ because that drive is really where I got my musical education,” shared the singer, reminiscing yet again about the road trips to Whistler Mountain.

“So much of my musical education growing up was driving through the mountains in Canada. […] When I think of this album, it wasn’t so much a story from start to finish, like a concise story, it’s this winding road of feelings that I wanted to communicate.”

Fans can already get a taste of the album with the newly released single, “Faded On Me.” Ludwig shared, “I loved coming out with that one because I thought so many people would have expected me to come out with a country love song.” The song is the perfect combination of fun and stellar songwriting to keep us anticipating the upcoming record.

“I wrote a bunch of songs on the album. David Lee Murphy has been such a champion of mine and he’s written on a few of them,” Ludwig said. “We kind of just utilized this rollercoaster of emotions all the way through. It really was the ride of my life.”

Until the record drops, fans can expect the singer to be playing as many shows as possible! “I hope that people love this and I get to keep doing this.”

Acoustic Jam: A Benefit Concert For Camp Broadcast

Sam Alex, creator of Camp Broadcast is inviting you to A Benefit Concert For Camp Broadcast featuring artists like Canaan Smith, Abby Anderson, and more. Learn more below.

We always love to support creatives in the industry, so we are so excited to share with you the incredible ticketed event coming soon. The ‘Acoustic Jam: A Benefit Concert For Camp Broadcast’ featuring Canaan Smith, Darryl Worley, Ray Fulcher, and Abby Anderson is officially scheduled for Wednesday, June 15th at Joe’s Live in Rosemont, Illinois. The incredible night of music helps raise money for Camp Broadcast.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Camp Broadcast, Camp Broadcast is a 1 week, masterclass experience for high school and college-aged aspiring journalists and broadcasters to put together a hosting reel, learn from professionals in the industry, and interview celebrities. Camp Broadcast was created by Sam Alex two years ago, during the pandemic.

“This week, 2 years ago because of Covid all these in-person internships were canceled […] I felt so bad. […] I just thought of ‘Camp Broadcast’ and asked my friends who worked in TV and Radio what they would think if I had a masterclass on Zoom,” shared Alex in our recent conversation. This idea sparked the now-live event.

“The coolest part is not just seeing them get their jobs, but the relationships they form with the guests, the celebrity mentors, but especially with each other, with their fellow campers,” shared the founder.” Alex later shared, “At the end of the week the campers will have a hosting reel, a very valuable 2-3 minute reel when they apply for internships and jobs of them interviewing actual newsmakers and celebrities.”

Despite all of the incredible good that has come out of Camp Broadcast, Alex’s goal is for the camp to be free for all who wish to attend. In order to make that happen, the upcoming benefit concert is essential.

Chris Lane Collaborates with Lauren Alaina on “Dancin’ In The Moonlight”

Chris Lane collaborates with Lauren Alaina on reimagined, “Dancin’ In The Moonlight,” out now, June 10th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.

2022 is shaping up to be the year of country music collaborations! Chris Lane and Lauren Alaina bring us our newest country collab. Lane and Alaina join forces on their brand new song, “Dancin’ In The Moonlight.”

The new duet is the perfect jam as we head into the summer. Featuring a 70s country flair, the two stars bring us a sassy and fun new song to blast through the car speakers. Written by Jesse Frasure, Sherman Kelly, and Brett Tyler, it is hard to picture this song sung by any other artists. It was certainly made to be a collab.

“Let’s keep dancin’ in the moonlight // Girl you know it feels so right // When the hot summer sun makes it way on down // The fireflies and the stars get to coming out // We circle up at the hottest night club in town // Yeah, off the county road, where the wild things grow // All the girls getting barefoot dusty // All the boys passing something from Kentucky”

“Dancin’ In The Moonlight,” might feel familiar, since it was inspired but he popular King Harvest song that released back in 1972. Lane and Alaina find a way to revitalize the already incredible song and add their own country music twist. This fun-loving jam will be a track on our playlist all summer long.

Niko Moon: Coastin’ – EP Review

Niko Moon’s brand new EP, Coastin’, is out now, June 10th on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new music below and check out our full review.

Your summer record is officially here! Niko Moon, king of good vibes and appreciated life, is back with a brand new project to fall in love with. Moon releases his five-song project, Coastin’ just in time for warm weather and some sunshine.

The record kicks off with its lead single, “Easy Tonight.” The beach-vibe song is the perfect introduction to the new EP. It sets the mood for a record that is primed for an outdoor, laidback, summer country show. Moon’s effortlessness is on full display on the funky and catchy new mid-tempo song.

“Where the music is playin’ // People are singing // Like these old Levi’s, yeah we’re getting faded // No, I just can’t get enough // Bartender fill up my cup // ‘Cause I just wanna raise one up // It’s going down easy tonight // Ain’t it good when it all feels right // ‘Tween this drink in my hand // And some real good friends // It’s going down easy tonight”

Coastin’ continues with its title track. Quite possibly the most beach-ready, “Coastin'” is the perfect nostalgic song. Moon paints the picture for listeners of laying in the sun with someone you love or just chilling on your own, in the water, with no care in the world.

Next up, “All That We Need” is the middle track on the project. The song, one of our favorites from the collection, reminds us all to pay attention to the important things in life. Moon is always spreading his message of positivity and gratitude throughout his music.

“We could be rich, we could be broke // We could be young, we could be old // It don’t matter, no // Cause I got you, you got me // That’s all that we need // Take my hand // You gunna see // That’s all we need”

The record culminates with “Back Nine” and “One Drink Away.” Both songs are the perfect tracks to dance and drink too. The former is the song you need, once you make it through a break-up. On the other hand, “One Drink Away,” albeit slower-tempo, is the song that gives you hope in romance. It is the perfect song to end the record.

Overall, Coastin’  is an EP that we all needed. Moon is a one-of-a-kind singer-songwriter, whose message of positivity and good vibes is much appreciated. Not to mention, he has the songwriting chops and vocals to match!

Coastin’ EP Tracklist:

  1. “Easy Tonight”
  2. “Coastin'”
  3. “All That We Need”
  4. “Back Nine”
  5. “One Drink Away”

Lily Rose Drops Brand New Song “I’d Be You” Out Now

Lily Rose’s brand new song, “I’d Be You”  is out now, June 10th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.

ACM Best New Female Artist nominee, Lily Rose made a splash in country music with her TikTok hit, “Villain” in late 2020. Following the success of the viral smash that topped Taylor Swift on iTunes, she landed a joint-venture record deal with Big Loud Records, Back Blocks Music, and Republic Records. Last October, she toured with label-mate, Chris Lane and dropped her ten-track debut project, Stronger Than I Am.

Being influenced by a wide variety of artists from Bruce Springsteen to J Cole, her music generally consists of raw storytelling backed with a thumping beat—”I’d Be You” is no different. In this song, the singer sees her ex at the bar with another person. Obviously jealous, she rattles off the things she should have done when they were together in her head, thinking if she had done those things, she would be that other person.

“Driving her car back to her place, guess you can say I’d be you // Wrecking her bed, stuck on my mind, she’d still be mine (I’d be you) // Yeah, I’d be you”

Rose will play many country festivals this summer including Barefoot Country Music Fest in Wildwood, New Jersey next weekend. She will also open several shows for Sam Hunt including ones at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut and the Long Island Community Hospital Amphitheater on August 19 and 21, respectively.

King Calaway Debuts New Song “When I Get Home”

King Calaway’ s new song, “When I Get Home”  is out now, June 10th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.

King Calaway broke out onto the music scene with their debut record Rivers in 2019, setting the stage for other country groups like Restless Road, CB30, and On the Outside that rely on melodic harmonies to create their sound. Since their debut release, the group shifted through several changes, including members leaving the group, and trying out new sounds through various new project releases.  Now, ten months after their last release, Midnight, the quartet teamed up with multi-platinum artist, Zac Brown for their most recent track “When I Get Home,” co-written and produced by Brown himself.

“I recognized the talent this young group has and when we started working in the studio so much more unfolded, and I believe in these guys,” Brown exclusively told People. “When Keith Stegall bet on me and helped me make my first album that was the launch of my career. I believe this track can do the same for them, and it’s great to be able to give back.”

Rivers and Midnight leaned heavily on the pop side of production, but “When I Get Home” has a much simpler melody over an acoustic guitar. This song features a man owning up to his past mistakes and longing for another chance. He regrets leaving his woman in the first place and hopes that when he arrives back at her place, the light is on and she is waiting for him. The group once again demonstrates its peaceful harmonies all throughout the track. An orchestra comes in during the bridge, adding extra theatrics to the story.

“I really love producing people that have the talent and the hustle to make it out there,” Brown continued. “This is an exceptional group of guys. I’m very proud of what we have written and made. Lots to come from King Calaway.”

Carrie Underwood: ‘Denim & Rhinestones’ – Album Review

Carrie Underwood’s highly anticipated new album, Denim & Rhinestones is officially out now, June 10th on all streaming platforms. Listen to the record below and check out our full review.

The wait is over! Almost four years after her last solo country release, ‘Cry Pretty’, 8-time GRAMMY winner, Carrie Underwood is back with ‘Denim & Rhinestones’, a high-energy project with a nostalgic 90s country feel that is pure fun from beginning to end.

From catchy anthems (“Crazy Angels”, “Poor Everybody Else”, and title track “Denim & Rhinestones”), to love songs (“Faster”, “Pink Champagne”, “Wanted Woman”), to heartbreak (“Burn”, “Velvet Heartbreak”, “Hate my Heart”), to the kind of story tracks Underwood is known for, (“Ghost Story”, “She Don’t Know”), there is something for everyone on this record. Full of theatrical lyrics from top to bottom and even a bit of rock and roll, it is bound to be the soundtrack of the summer.

“I really just wanted to make an album that felt like fun,” said the American Idol alum ahead of the release. “I feel like this one ended up being a bigger reflection of me as a person and as an artist. We have a lot of songs that could be considered throwback songs, but they sound super fresh. These are influences that are in me and work their way out and I just decided this time not to get in their way.”

The final track, “Garden”, ends the album with the softer side of Underwood; a tribute to the way she grew up and a reminder to us all that we can choose who to be in this world.

“If your words were seeds that were goin’ in the ground // And your love was rain farmers prayed about // If your life was sunlight we all needed // What kinda world would it be? // If you reap what you sow // What kind of garden would you grow?

Produced by Underwood and collaborator David Garcia, ‘Denim & Rhinestones’ features 12 songs, 11 of which the mom of two co-wrote with familiar names found all over her impressive discography, including Josh Kear, Hillary Lindsey, Ashley Gorley, and Chris DeStefano.

“We covered a lot of ground,” said Underwood when talking about her mindset going into the writer’s room and studio. “Hopefully it’ll just make people happy to listen to. It’s a very like sing into your hairbrush, in your house, in your room, kind of album, which I think is going to translate well.”

After spending the pandemic on two Christian passion-projects, Christmas album ‘My Gift’ (2020) and gospel record ‘My Savior’ (2021), this time, Underwood was focused on getting back in front of fans. “I wanted to think about all the songs and how we’re going to perform them live and I feel like what we came up with was everything I wanted it to be and more”.

Neither Underwood or fans will have to wait long; the superstar hits the road this fall for an 8-month tour with fellow denim-and-rhinestone-clad special guest, Jimmie Allen.

Underwood will also be returning to Las Vegas in 2023 to resume her residency, REFLECTION, which enjoyed sold-out runs in December 2021 and Spring 2022. For all tour dates, visit: Carrieunderwood.com.
