Dan + Shay Earn 10th Number One at Country Radio with “Save Me The Trouble”

Dan + Shay’s song, “Save Me The Trouble” marks their tenth number one single at country radio. Get all the details here!

Platinum-selling duo Dan + Shay are one of the best group country acts out there. Their loyal fanbase and their knack for creating music that is unique to them continues to win them accolades. Today, Dan + Shay reach a monumental feat, earning their tenth number one single at country radio with their song, “Save Me The Trouble.”

The chart-topper is the first number one song off Dan + Shay’s most recent album, Bigger Houses. The single speaks to heartbreak in the most beautiful way. Both artists have shared that the single is one that they are specifically proud of off the project. “Save Me The Trouble” is both emotional and relatable, two qualities that country radio and country fans seem to love and reward.

“I can tell by the way // That you’re stirring your drink // Oh, we’re already playing with fire // Said that you had to go // ‘Bout an hour ago // Baby, you’re such a beautiful liar // It feels like a movie I’ve already seen // So right now I’m begging you please // Why don’t you save me the trouble // Keep those pretty blue eyes to yourself // Why don’t you save me the trouble // Give that heartache to somebody else”

Dan + Shay keep reinventing themselves as they grow in their artistry. “Save Me The Trouble” seems to be a step in a new and fresh direction, and it’s clearly working. Congratulations to Dan + Shay and their team!

Dan + Shay: Bigger Houses Album Review

Dan + Shay’s brand new album, Bigger Houses is out now, September 15th on all streaming platforms. Listen to the new music below.

Ten years since “19 You + Me” skyrocketed them to stardom, Dan + Shay are back with their most impressive release to date. While Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, have admitted to nearly breaking up after their 2021 tour left them both bitter and burnt out, the pair managed to rekindle their love of music, and the result is their fifth studio LP, Bigger Houses.

All but one of the album’s twelve tracks were co-written by either (or both) Dan + Shay, with co-writers including Adam Doleac, Zach Crowell, Ashley Gorley, ERNEST, Lori McKenna, and more. Due to this, the album is true to the singer-songwriters’ roots, with the majority of tracks falling into the late 90’s/ early ‘00s type of harmonic country that was a trademark of groups like Lonestar, Emerson Drive, and Rascal Flatts.

“Some of our records have been more pop- or hip-hop/R&B-infused,” Smyers shares, “But on this record, I wanted to make tracks that we could hop up at any bar anywhere with our live band and play the songs as they were recorded. Ultimately, this music, this whole album, is something that I’ll be able to look back on in a decade or two and be really proud of the way it turned out.”

Fiddle and slide guitar is prevalent on Bigger Houses, but never in a way that seems disingenuous. In fact, “We Should Get Married” may be one of the duo’s most true country songs, a tongue-in-cheek proposal that sashays away from their reputation as balladeers and instead takes them through a swinging, two stepper. “We should get married // Take it out to Vegas // Find a little chapel // Hire us an Elvis,” They muse, tongues firmly planted in cheek.

Likewise, “Neon Cowgirl” and “Heartbreak on the Map” continue to show the duo’s 90’s influence, channeling their inner Brooks and Dunn on “Cowgirl,” an encouragement anthem to a heartbroken girl in a bar. “Neon cowgirl, don’t you cry, don’t you know you were born to shine// Rain stops falling and hearts unbreak,” They croon “So let that cowboy ride away // It won’t be like this forever // Ain’t no storm that you can’t weather // Neon cowgirl, don’t you cry.”

Clever lyricism is a predominant theme on Bigger Houses, as Mooney and Smyers manage to put new stamps on old tropes. For example, on the summery album opener “Breakin’ Up with a Broken Heart,” the pair is moving on from a heartbreak, while “Missing Someone” puts them in the position of rebound lovers. “Save Me the Trouble” finds them imploring a girl not to let them fall in love, in order to avoid a broken heart. The track builds to a powerful bridge, Mooney’s vocals soaring into the stratosphere.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been prouder of a song that I am this one,” says Smyers of “Save Me the Trouble.” “We wanted to have something that was a real moment, and when we started writing this, it felt like it could be something big. I wanted every section to build, and even in the second chorus, when you’re like, ‘Okay, there’s no way it could possibly get any crazier,’ then Shay takes off even further.”

“From the Both of Us” is an especially beautiful and poignant moment that’s sure to be played at weddings for the rest of eternity. On the heart-swelling ballad, they promise a father to love his daughter forever. “I’m in love with your daughter // And I’ve been since the first time I saw her // I’ll ask her the question // If you give your blessing,” They harmonize. “When she takes my hand you can trust // I’ll love her enough for the both of us.”

Love and fate weave their way through songs like “Always Gonna Be,” “Then Again,” and “What Took You So Long.” While “Always Gonna Be” is a celebration of the things in life that are just meant to be, “Then Again” is like a modern day “Unanswered Prayers.” “There’s a few things I might’ve changed if God put me in charge,” Mooney muses. “Then again I would’ve never met you.”

The album’s closer and title track, “Bigger Houses” is an especially poignant moment, notably when considering that the duo almost hung up their microphones. On the stark ballad, they celebrate that life isn’t all about having the best things, and while the grass may appear greener elsewhere, that’s not what’s important.

“There’s always gonna be a higher high // You could chase for the rest of your life // Greener grass in the yard next doo r// Or a shined up Chevy little newer than yours // You’re never gonna fill an empty cup // If what you got’s still not enough // The thing about happiness I’ve found is It don’t live in bigger houses”

On Bigger Houses, Dan + Shay take listeners on a nostalgic country journey, chock full of clever lyrics, country instrumentation, and their patented harmonies and soaring vocals.

Dan + Shay Are Back with Brand New Music + Album Announcement

Dan + Shay share brand new music and announce new album, coming this September. Listen to the new music and get all the details here!

After a purposefully quiet couple of months, Dan + Shay are officially back with more new music! On the heels of their ‘The Voice’ announcement, the platimum-selling duo is sharing even more exciting news. Their next studio album, Bigger Houses will be out on September 15th. The record features twelve songs, three of which are available today, including, “Save Me The Trouble,” “Heartbreak On The Map,” and the title track, “Bigger Houses.”

“Some of our records have been more pop or hip-hop/R&B-infused,” shared Dan Smyers, 1/2 of Dan + Shay. “But on this record, I wanted to make tracks that we could hop up at any bar anywhere with our live band and play the songs as they were recorded. Ultimately, this music, this whole album, is something that I’ll be able to look back on in a decade or two and be really proud of the way it turned out.”

Each of the three released songs showcase different parts of the duo’s growing artistry. On, “Save Me The Trouble,” the singers take the listener on a journey both lyrically and melodically. According to the artists, the song was created to get bigger and bigger as the song progresses. “We wanted to have something that was a real moment, and when we started writing this, it felt like it could be something big. I wanted every section to build, and even in the second chorus, when you’re like, ‘Okay, there’s no way it could possibly get any crazier,’ then Shay takes off even further.”

On “Heartbreak On The Map,” Dan + Shay lean into their country roots. The song is poetic and pensive in nature. However, the true standout of the three songs is the title track, “Bigger Houses.” The song is an all too relatable song about the notion that “the grass isn’t always greener on the other side” and sometimes we have to just be present and count our blessings. Dan + Shay cement the notion that life is all about who you love and not what you have.

This sneak peak of the Bigger Houses LP did its job! The singles keep fans excited for more and more music, and it is clear this album is going to be an incredible one for Dan + Shay!

Bigger Houses Track List:

  1. Breakin’ Up With a Broken Heart – Dan Smyers, Shay Mooney, Zach Crowell, Ashley Gorley

Kenny Chesney Announces Full 2022 Tour Line-Up + Dates

Kenny Chesney adds Dan + Shay, Old Dominion, and Carly Pearce to 2022 ‘Here And Now’ Tour. Get all the dates and details below.

“When we realized we weren’t getting to spend 2020 with No Shoes Nation, I never thought it would be three years until I would see my most favorite people in the world,” says eight-time Entertainer of the Year Kenny Chesney ahead of his Here And Now 2022 stadium tour presented by Blue Chair Bay Rum and fueled by MARATHON, set to launch April 23 at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium. “My favorite place in the world is anywhere we all come together. They come strong. They get loud. They love the music. But most importantly, they live life – every second – for all its worth! They inspire me, and I want to get out there and get going, creating the greatest night of the summer every time we hit the stage.

“Putting this line-up together has been awesome,” Chesney continues. “We’ve got Dan + Shay, who continue to set records with their music and have been burning it up on their own headlining tour this year. We have an old favorite, who just keep getting better, Old Dominion – it’s almost like it wouldn’t be a stadium show without them! – and one of my newest friends in Carly Pearce, whose songwriting is so personal to her own life, yet so many people find themselves in her songs.”

Kicking off April 23 in Tampa, Fla. at Raymond James Stadium, Chesney will play 21 stadium concerts, finishing Here And Now 2022 with what has almost become a No Shoes Nation tradition: a double-play at New England’s Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. on August 26 and 27. All current ticketholders remain in their original seats at each stadium.

To celebrate the news of the Here And Now 2022 lineup, the 19 stadium shows already announced are getting “Five Day Party Pricing,” to honor those fans who normally attend multiple shows each summer with limited discounted tickets at multiple price points igniting the Here And Now 2022 summer. To make it super-easy, no codes, no clubs, no special sign-ups and prices will already reflect any discounts. Just look for the price that fits your party now through Nov. 5.

“Let’s make this simple!” Chesney says. “It’s been a long time. No Shoes Nation moves around, shows up in lots of cities. So, to say thank you for being the most awesome people in the world, I thought this was a way to recognize the people who do more than one or two stadiums each summer!”

In addition to the previously announced stadium shows, Chesney has also added dates at Charlotte, N.C.’s Bank of America Stadium and Columbus, Ohio’s Historic Crew Stadium. Tickets to the newly announced Charlotte show go on sale to the general public on Friday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. local time, with on sale details for Columbus TBA.

American Express® Card Members can purchase Charlotte tickets before the general public beginning Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. local time through Thursday, Nov. 11 at 10 p.m. local time.

Here And Now 2022 presented by Blue Chair Bay Rum and fueled by MARATHON picks up where one of contemporary music’s greatest love affairs left off. Having sold over a million tickets every year since 2002, Chesney is ready to get back out there – and he’s bringing a few of his very best musical friends with him.

Get to Know the Opening Acts of Summer 2021’s Hottest Country Music Tours

All of the greats we know and love today were once the opening acts, too. Get to know today’s openers from summer 2021’s hottest country music tours.

Not only did your favorite superstars reunite with the stage this past summer, but your future favorite entertainers had the opportunity to share it with them this country concert season as well. Country music is famous for having incredible ‘superstars-to-be’ open for their major tours, and here at Country Swag, we have your guide to all the of the show openers. Learn more about this year’s opening acts below.

Tenille Arts just earned her first #1 on country radio with the smash “Somebody Like That”, following the release of her second studio album, Love, Heartbreak & Everything In Between. All her hard work is paying off this year, as she gears up for new releases and as summer set in, Arts found herself as the opening act on on Lady A’s ‘What A Song Can Do Tour’. Tenille Arts is without a doubt one of the best vocalists and songwriters of this new class of country artists and if you caught the show, you will probably agree.

Matt Stell, one of our artists to watch and Live Swag Session alums is taking over country music one single at a time. His debut single, “Prayed For You” is one of the most popular love songs in country music, and his new single, “That Ain’t Me No More” has been sent to country radio. This summer, he joined Old Dominion and Miranda Lambert on their respective run of shows.

Lainey Wilson and HARDY were both opening acts for Jason Aldean’s ‘Back In The Saddle Tour’ and if you caught the show, you know they rightfully earned their time in the spotlight. This isn’t the first time the two have toured together either; they opened for Morgan Wallen on his first headline tour over two years ago. HARDY and Wilson both released critically acclaimed albums in the past year (A ROCK and Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’, respectively) and as those albums indicated, their fiery songs got fans up and out of their seats each and every night just as fast as they sat down in them!

The full list of country tours and their opening acts are listed below. One of the best feelings is when you go to a show not knowing the opener and leaving a forever fan. If that rings true for the show’s you attended this year, be sure to remember their names, follow them on socials, stream the music and get ready to see those artists when they head back your way. For New York City country fans, head to our calendar to find out when the next shows in the area are.

Dan + Shay Score 9th Number One Song with “Glad You Exist”

Dan + Shay score 9th number one song with “Glad You Exist,” marking their third number one song off their brand new album Good Things.

Platinum-selling duo Dan + Shay are truly unstoppable! Their brand new album Good Things just dropped on Friday. It is already home to two chart-toppers, including “10,000 Hours” and “I Should Probably Go To Bed.” Now, Dan + Shay can add another number one to their catalog with “Glad You Exist.”

The single marks the iconic duo’s ninth number one in their career. In just eight years, Dan + Shay have solidified themselves as pillars in the country-pop scene. Their single “Glad You Exist” is one of their best to date. The song expresses how it feels to love someone deeply. Despite the romantic nature of the song, the song comes at a time in the landscape of the world, where love is needed most.

“There’s a couple billion people in the world // And a million other places we could be, but you’re here with me // Take a moment just to take it in // ‘Cause every high and every low led to this // I’m just so glad you exist”

As we wait to see the success of their brand new record, we can guess that there are more number ones in store for the duo. Fans can even catch Dan + Shay on their headlining tour this summer and fall. Dan + Shay stop at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden on September 16th. Dan + Shay: ‘Good Things’ – Album Review

Dan + Shay’s new album Good Things, released today, August 13th is officially available on all streaming platforms. The record features number one songs “Glad You Exist”, “10,000 Hours” with Justin Bieber, and “I Should Probably Go To Bed.” Check out the full review below.

In a time of chaos and uncertainty in the world, we could all use some good things, and Dan + Shay have certainly delivered. With the release of their fourth full-length album, the aptly titled Good Things, out now August 13, the harmonic pair have provided the perfect summer soundtrack. With twelve new tracks of buoyant and bouncy country-pop, Dan + Shay are offering up a hearty dose of ‘good things’.

The record follows in the footsteps of their 2018 smash self-titled album, which included “Tequila,” “All to Myself,” and “Speechless.” When announcing the new release back in July, the pair took to Instagram, writing, “We poured every bit of our hearts into this project and have never been more excited for anything in our entire lives.”

Each song on Good Things was produced and co-written by Dan Smyers, while Shay Mooney also leant his hand to co-writing on eight of the album’s tracks. Other co-writers and co-producers include Nashville heavy-hitters Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley, Dave Barnes, Andy Albert, Jordan Reynolds, and Old Dominion’s Brad Tursi. For the project, Dan + Shay also enlisted some big names from the pop world, including Julia Michaels, Shawn Mendes, and Justin Bieber on the previously released, “10,000 Hours”.

Opening with the album’s airy and melodic “Good Things,” Dan + Shay wish an ex well. With its anthemic chorus over rousing beats, the song is both the perfect album opener and the perfect introduction to this era of Dan + Shay. On this track, they’re eternally optimistic, moving on but wishing her well.

“When it’s late at night // And you’re still wide awake // If you’re with your friends or you’re lonely // When you hear somebody start to say my name // Oh when you think of me // I hope you think good things”

That almost tropical feel continues throughout the album, highlighting its way through songs such as “Steal My Love,” and “Body Language.” Likewise, “Irresponsible” is a mid-tempo yet sultry ode to a booty call that may be wrong, but feels oh-so-right. “I’m still gettin’ over the last time, we said it’s the last time,” they admit of their tryst, wondering “How’d we end up here, in the same room?”

While the album definitely embraces up-tempo tracks, the duo’s softer side is still evident on Good Things. “You” is the type of song that fans have come to expect from Dan + Shay, as they celebrate the love of a lucky woman. “If all else goes wrong // Baby, I’ll be alright // ‘Cause I got you.”

Meanwhile, “One Direction” is another such track, and despite its name, it’s sadly not an ode to Harry, Niall, Liam, and Louis. Instead, it’s a love song that shows Mooney flexing his vocal chops, proclaiming his desire to carpe diem in a relationship. “Cause time only moves in one direction // These are the nights we won’t get back // Don’t wanna waste one single second // Don’t want the starts to fall so fast,” they sing. “Cause someday we’ll be sayin’ how // We wish we could turn back around // Time only moves in one direction // Come on, get closеr, come, let me hold you now”

Getting over an ex is a theme on many of the album’s songs, including “Let Me Get Over Her,” a moody piano-driven prayer of desperation to move on. Meanwhile, “Lying” takes on a similar topic in a very different musical way. If there’s something oddly familiar about the track, it’s the piano melody of the Bill Withers classic “Lean on Me” that weaves its way through the song. “I don’t miss you in my bed // I don’t hear you in my head,” they sing. “I don’t love you, I’m not cryin’ // And I swear, I’m not lyin.”

With a mix of airy up-tempo songs and the ballads that Dan + Shay have become known for, Good Things is the perfect album title, delivering good things in spades.

Dan + Shay Release New Song “Lying” Ahead of Upcoming Album

Dan + Shay’s new song”Lying” is available on all streaming platforms now, July 30th. The song comes just a few weeks before their highly anticipated album, Good Things, out 8/13. Learn more about the new track below.

Right behind the release of their latest single “Good Things”, the title track off their forthcoming album (August 13th), Dan + Shay have just released another new track “Lying”. The duo dropped a music video with the release of the song, which includes a dance that fans can learn and dance along to!

The duo has continued to release hit after hit despite having a three-year gap since their last album. Dan + Shay Announce New Record and Release New Song “Good Things”

Dan + Shay announce new record and release new song “Good Things,” available now, July 15th on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.

Just as we anticipated, superstar duo Dan + Shay have officially announced their new album and released a brand new song! Three years after the self-titled album transformed the duo into bonafide cross-country superstars, the singers are ready to release another project. Good Things will be available everywhere on August 13th. To hold fans over, Dan + Shay dropped the title track, available now.

The new single joins smash hits “10,000 Hours” with Justin Bieber, “Glad You Exist,” and “I Should Probably Go To Bed.” “Good Things” is a beautifully put-together tune. It depicts a broken relationship, where they still think the world of their ex. Dan + Shay manage to bring their country-pop flair to the song in a nostalgic, yet innovative way. The uplifting side of the song is so refreshing.

“So when it’s late at night and you’re still wide awake // If you’re with your friends or you’re lonely // When you hear somebody start to sty my name // Oh when you think of me // I hope you think good things”

If the release says anything about the record, Good Things is sure to be another platinum-selling success for the duo. The production, the vocals, and the lyrics all work effortlessly together.

Fans can catch “Good Things” and many more songs on the newly resumed ‘Dan + Shay The (Arena) Tour.’ The tour rolls through New York City’s Madison Square Garden on September 16th. Find tickets here.

Dan + Shay hinted at new music and album coming soon on their social media over the weekend. Could the first song from the upcoming album be released this week?!

It has been three years since superstar country duo Dan + Shay have released their incredible self-titled record. The men have been very active on social media, but over the weekend, they finally hinted at the news we were all waiting for.

First Dan + Shay took to their Instagram stories to share the new dates for their ‘The Arena Tour.’ The photo was captioned with “hint: new album before tour.” The tour kicks off in September, so we could be expecting a brand new record sooner rather than later! We already know the record is finished, based on a recent Instagram post.

Soon after, the duo took to their stories yet again, simply sharing “it’s gonna be a good week.” This further proves our theory that new music is coming from Dan + Shay this week! Gear up and keep checking back for more information as it develops.

The last song that Dan + Shay released was their touching and viral song “Glad You Exist.” The duo also recently released their song “I Should Probably Go to Bed,” which landed at the top of the charts at the beginning of the year. Both songs will most likely be included on the next record, which Dan + Shay are calling their “best album yet.”
