Dan + Shay hinted at new music and album coming soon on their social media over the weekend. Could the first song from the upcoming album be released this week?!
It has been three years since superstar country duo Dan + Shay have released their incredible self-titled record. The men have been very active on social media, but over the weekend, they finally hinted at the news we were all waiting for.
First Dan + Shay took to their Instagram stories to share the new dates for their ‘The Arena Tour.’ The photo was captioned with “hint: new album before tour.” The tour kicks off in September, so we could be expecting a brand new record sooner rather than later! We already know the record is finished, based on a recent Instagram post.
Soon after, the duo took to their stories yet again, simply sharing “it’s gonna be a good week.” This further proves our theory that new music is coming from Dan + Shay this week! Gear up and keep checking back for more information as it develops.
The last song that Dan + Shay released was their touching and viral song “Glad You Exist.” The duo also recently released their song “I Should Probably Go to Bed,” which landed at the top of the charts at the beginning of the year. Both songs will most likely be included on the next record, which Dan + Shay are calling their “best album yet.”

Who is MaRynn Taylor? The singer-songwriter joined us to chat about her journey to country music. Get to know the rising star here…
MaRynn Taylor
The Beginning:
Today we are highlighting a rising artist who is just twenty years old and at the start of an incredible journey. Hailing from Michigan and now a Nashville transplant, MaRynn Taylor is a one-of-a-kind talent. She grew up around music and knew she wanted to sing country music for a living at an early age. “I started pretty young,” she tell us in our recent chat. “I think it was about 4 when I started doing little mini-performances for my family in the living room and I had the little plastic mic and I would sing gibberish and they would put on music in the background.”
Always finding inspiration from her parents and what they were listening to, Taylor fell in love with country music. Her parents introduced her to artists like Garth Brooks, John Denver, Trisha Yearwood, and The Chicks. “There was always music in my house,” she shares, adding, “I just kinda gravitated towards it naturally.”
By the age of twelve, Taylor solidified her desire to play country music. “I went on a real stage for the first time. It was like my 6th-grade talent show,” shared the songstress. “It’s really when I fell in love with performing and I starting singing at little festivals in the summertime.”
Taylor took her love for country artists like Carrie Underwood and all the women in 90s country with her when she finally made the big move to Nashville just out of high school. “I knew I wanted to be just like them.”
The Turning Point:
Three years ago, Taylor and her family headed south to their new home in Nashville, Tennessee. Back in sixth grade, during a family trip to Music City, the singer had declared her love for Nashville. She knew back then that she would end up living and working in the city. “I just knew I loved music,” shares Taylor. “Something in me knew that I was going to come back and I was going to live here. It just felt like home. I finished high school when I was 17 and I told my parents I want to do this.”
Since moving to Nashville, the songstress has been able to grow her talent and her voice. She has even begun writing her own music, which she shares has been one of the most rewarding parts of being in the industry. “I would write little poems and stories as a kid. I always loved it, but I didn’t start really songwriting until I moved to Nashville and I began writing with a lot of people here.”
Later, the singer declared her love of the city she now calls home, once more. “There’s no place I’d rather be. The heart of country music is here and I love it.”
Today:
Nowadays, Taylor can officially say that her dreams are her reality. Since moving to Nashville, the songstress has gotten to play gigs and put out original music. Most recently, the singer dropped a heartfelt and beautiful song called “Lies of My Fears.” The song showcases the singer-songwriter’s ability to just ‘go there’ and be vulnerable with her fans through her music.
“We got in the room together and [one of the co-writers] actually had the idea and I was like wow I could really relate to putting my own self down and it was pretty vulnerable sharing my fears and sometimes doubts that are in my head almost daily honestly,” she tells us, recounting the writing experience.
Since its release, Taylor has learned how relatable sharing your fears and your heart can be for listeners and fans of country music in general. “Lies of My Fears” is a song that will keep fans in her corner for a long time to come.
As we continue into the second half of 2021, Taylor promises more music this year. She shared that she is working on so much music right now as well as playing shows whenever she can.Overall though the most important thing to her is “I can’t wait for people to hear more of myself and my heart.”

Zac Brown Band released two brand new songs, “Out in the Middle” and “Old Love Song,” available now, July 9th on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the tracks.
Since making their return to Warner Music Nashville, Zac Brown Band have been full steam ahead! Last month, the band released their catchy new single “Same Boat.” Today, the multi-platinum selling country group has released not one, but two new songs, “Out in the Middle and “Old Love Song.”
“Out in the Middle” keeps with the swampy vibe on “Same Boat.” It is a heavy-hitting and gritty song, perfect for the live show. Penned by Brown with superstar Luke Combs and songwriters Ben Simonetti and Jonathan Singleton, the song is the ultimate jam. Lyrically, the track is all about celebrating the country lifestyle.
On the other hand, Zac Brown Band leans into a soulful groove on “Old Love Song.” Also co-written by Combs, this track is a more laid-back style. Name-dropping several famous songs like “When You Say Nothing At All” and “Put Your Records On,” it is hard not to fall in love with this easy, breezy song. The melody feels like an instant classic despite the fresh sound.
“Let’s stay together, slow dance forever // And ever, amen // Stand by me darling, you keep me free falling // When you say nothing at all // Girl, put your records on // Let me love you like an old love song”
It seems Zac Brown Band are going to keep cranking out more and more new music this year. It is going to be a great year for the superstars!

Alana Springsteen’s new song, “Zero Trucks” is available now, July 9th, on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new song.
One of our favorite new songstresses is Alana Springsteen. We love the charm, spunk, and talent that Springsteen brings to every song she releases. Continuously putting out new music, Springsteen recently teamed up with fellow rising star, Roman Alexander on “Trying Not To” and released another song of her own, “California.” Today, the singer drops another incredible tune called “Zero Trucks.”
Co-written with Walker Hayes and Joe Clemmons, “Zero Trucks” is a song with a sunny disposition; despite, the lyrical content. The hooky and clever track portrays female confidence in the most effortless way. Despite the fact that the protagonist just saw her ex with a new woman, she is still feeling free and happy. It is the ultimate summer jam and empowerment song!
“I heard word on the dirt road // She’s riding shotgun //Thought it would, but it don’t hurt though // Now you’re her problem // I ain’t gonna chase your taillights // I ain’t gonna miss your speakers // I ain’t gonna waste one more night // Sleeping in your t-shirt”
Springsteen is the perfect person to sing this song. It is clear that she really embodies the message that the song conveys. As if the song is not fun enough, Hayes, Springsteen, and Hayes’ eldest daughter all collaborated on social media to make up a killer TikTok dance for the fun-loving tune. Hopefully “Zero Trucks” and its dance will go viral next to Hayes’ recent viral sensation track, “Fancy Like.”

Kane Brown collaborates with blackbear on new song, “Memory,” available now, July 9th on all streaming platforms. The cross-genre track will be Brown’s next single to pop radio. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.
“Memory” was penned by Kane Brown, blackbear (Matthew Musto), esteemed pop writers Andrew Goldstein and Joe Kirkland, and Nashville’s very own ERNEST. This midtempo snap-track starts with Brown first speaking and then singing about his career, success, and life in general, living life in the constant fast lane and avoiding any letdown. However, there is fear that things will slow down, becoming just a memory. blackbear takes over the next verse, expressing the same concerns.
I wanna live life fast, I don’t know how to slow down // Wanna get high, I don’t know how to come down // Help me now, I’m running on empty // and I don’t wanna be a memory
Brown is no stranger to exploring with sounds outside of his genre and loves collaborating with artists in and out of Nashville. Since 2017, he has dominated the country charts with six number one hits, including his most recent chart-topper “Famous Friends” with Chris Young, which just reached the top spot last week.
The singer has also seen success on mainstream Top 40 radio, with two songs reaching the top twenty; “One Thing Right” with Marshmello (#16) and “Be Like That” with Swae Lee and Khalid (#8). blackbear, who is one of the most popular artists to collaborate with right now, has seen radio success himself with hits like “Hot Girl Bummer,” “Monsters” with All Time Low, and “my ex’s best friend” with Machine Gun Kelly.
With these two powerhouses pairing up, this song has the potential to top the charts as well. “Memory” is looking like another hit for the singer!

Tigirlily’s debut self-titled EP is out today, July 9, on all streaming platforms. Featuring songs co-written by Shane McAnally, Walker Hayes, Old Dominion’s Trevor Rosen, and more, check out the full review below.
There’s something extra special about sibling harmonies, and Tigirlily has that something special in spades. Composed of sisters Krista and Kendra Slaubaugh, the pair named their band Tigirlily after a flower in their parents’ North Dakota garden, the tigerlily. According to Country Now, they changed the spelling to add some girl power to their name.
The ladies of Tigirlily list their inspirations as the Chicks, Sugarland, and Rascal Flatts, and their debut EP has that early 2000’s-inspired sound that’s been missing from country music in the last decade. Produced by Shane McAnally and Louis Newman, the Monument Records debut EP features five tracks co-written by the sisters, along with the likes of McAnally, Josh Osborne, Old Dominion’s Trevor Rosen, and labelmates Walker Hayes and Brandon Ratcliff.
The EP opens with the twangy “My Thang,” co-written by Hayes, an airy ode to dealing with all the obstacles that life throws at you. “We wrote ‘My Thang’ as a reminder to ourselves that no matter what life throws our way, we’re going to be alright if we just keep “doin’ our thang,” says the duo in a statement. “This song is everything we’ve experienced in our lives, especially in the last year. From ‘barely making rent’ to ‘killing it at work,’ from ‘swiping on tinder’ to being ‘swept off our feet,’ from feeling like ‘oh no’ to ‘it’s gonna be a good day.’ Life is supposed to be full of ups and downs, it’s how we learn, so we should just enjoy and keep doing our thang.”
“Somebody Does” is a powerful message of hope, geared at anyone who’s struggling with day-to-day life. On the heart-stopping ballad, Tigirlily wishes that the listener could see themselves through the eyes of those who love them. It may sound cliche, but this is the type of important country song that the genre needs, offering support and empowerment to its listeners. As cheesy as it may sound, this is the type of song that has the potential to save a life. Over twangy guitars, the pair sings, “I don’t know who needs to hear this // But you should know you’re somebody’s reason // For gettin’ out of bed in the mornin’ // You’re just what somebody’s needin’ // Even if you don’t see it // You better believe you’re somebody’s more than enough // I don’t know who needs to hear this // But I know, somebody does.”
Meanwhile, the trend of struggling through life yet finding solidarity continues on “Everybody’s On Something,” which twists into a love song. Whether it’s a business trip, a diet or a prescription, everybody’s on something, and they “just wish their something was you.”
“Dig Yourself” is a perfectly crafted woman-scorned anthem, the pair singing of an ex who is just a little too full of himself. The girls are moving on here, inviting an ex to dig himself a hole to China, where he may never “find someone who loves you as much as you.” Co-written by Rosen, McAnally, and Osborne, “Dig Yourself” is a polished piece of pop-country perfection, basically engineered for country radio, and that’s not a bad thing.
The Tigirlily self-titled EP ends with “Known You Forever,” a song celebrating enduring friendships and lifelong relationships. The breezy track celebrates those whom “You still know their home phone number by heart // They’ll be there in the end // Because they were there from the start.” Sometimes it takes the perspective of a lifelong friend to make things make sense, and this song truly captures that. “You think you know you // But they know you better,” They sing. “Sometimes you need someone who’s known you forever.”
In a press release, Tigirlily shared “When writing these songs for our EP, we wanted to share hints of who we are as people, artists, and sisters. Our hope is that this EP changes the course of people’s day for the better and brings some light into the world.”
Tigirlily’s self-titled EP does just that, providing songs for the good times and the bad, offering a musical ray of sunshine, perfect for summertime.

Hannah Dasher’s The Half Record EP is out today, July 9, on all streaming platforms. Featuring tracks such as “Left Right” and “Girls Call the Shots”, check out our full review below.
With a sound and style that’s unapologetically country, Hannah Dasher’s new project, The Half Record, is out today, July 9. Rather than bending to the pop-country sounds that tend to monopolize country radio today, Dasher’s collection of songs is a joyous compilation that pays homage to the biggest names in country, including the likes of Reba, Dolly, Trisha, and Miranda.
Dasher was recently named a member of 2021’s CMT Next Women of Country Music, and The Half Recordclearly shows why. Additionally, Dasher co-wrote all but one of the project’s five tracks. She shows her solid writing chops on tracks such as “Leave This Bar,” “Shoes,” and “You’re Gonna Love Me.”
The Half Record opens with the sultry “Leave This Bar,” a rocking mid-tempo telling the tale of the Friday night bar prowl, an ode to looking for someone to head home with. “The beers are real cold // The band sounds good // Everything feels like a Friday night should,” she sings. “Got drinks in the air // We’re dancing in the dark // But everybody’s looking for a reason // To leave this bar.” While some female country singers would probably hesitate to sing on such a seemingly taboo topic, Dasher embraces it here, providing the perfect intro to this EP.
“Left Right ” is asking a man to step up and propose or she’s out. Dasher is through with a wishy-washy dude here, and she sells it perfectly. “It’s time that you made up your mind // Are you in or out?” She asks on the incredibly catchy and clever tune. “You better put a ring on her left right now.”
On “You’re Gonna Love Me,” Dasher embraces who she is, unapologetically herself. “I ain’t for everybody, but I don’t try to be,” she admits on the track. Meanwhile, on “Shoes,” she knows that she’s a catch, as she invites an ex back for a second chance. “If I were in your shoes // Baby, I’d come running back to me.”
Dasher shows her softer side on the EP’s lone ballad, “Girls Call the Shots.” It is a ballad about the impact of women on a man’s life. Nonetheless, guys may buy the drinks and think they rule the roost, but when it comes down to it, it’s girls who make the rules.
In her official bio, Dasher reveals that she was once fired from a job at Bass Pro Shop for writing songs while working. We’re so glad she was. On this debut project, Dasher isn’t introducing herself with a whisper, but with a resounding and welcomed shout. Overall, on The Half Record EP, Dasher is unabashedly herself, equal parts grit and glam, and the result is magical.

Jon Langston’s new song “Try Missing You” is available now, July 9th on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.
Just last week, entertainer Jon Langston teamed up with newcomer Noah Hicks and fellow singer-songwriter Travis Denning on “Drinkin’ in a College Town.” Now, Langston showcases another side of his talent. Fans have been waiting for his newest release for years. After teasing the track at live shows and on social media, the singer finally officially premiered his heartfelt song “Try Missing You” today.
Co-written by Langston with Jody Stevens, “Try Missing You” is a song that the artist leaked over two years ago. Back in March of 2019, Langston shared a one-minute sneak peek of the song, as an acoustic performance on his YouTube page. The song showcases the singer’s vocal abilities and equally spotlights his songwriter prowess.
“Well if it weren’t for you hunny, I wouldn’t have a song to sing // I don’t know where I’m going to be tomorrow // Truth is I’m a little lost right now // The smoke and whiskey, it don’t fix me like you always do // If you think you’re missing me // Try missing you”
A love song at its core, the track is a thank you to his significant other for being there for him, as he tries to pursue this dream. It is often difficult to be a touring musician and be in a relationship. This song expresses what it’s like to be on the road and missing your lover.
Despite the fact that we are not all artists, the song is as relatable as it gets. Anyone who has ever been in love knows how it feels to experience your heart aching for your lover when they are not with you. “Try Missing You” might be one of Langston’s most vulnerable and best songs to date!

Mitchell Tenpenny’s brand new song “Truth About You” is available now, July 9th on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.
Back in May, one of our day one favorites, Mitchell Tenpenny shared an unreleased song on his social media. As an unreleased and untitled song, we instantly loved it and jumped on the bandwagon for Tenpenny to release the track. Well, today is our lucky day! The singer officially dropped the brand new track, “Truth About Us” today.
The hooky song is about a messy break-up. Taking a unique approach, Tenpenny shares the perspective of the person, who is being gossiped about. “Truth About Us” is one of those tracks that you instantly relate to and learn all the words to just after a few listens. Tenpenny remains true to himself and his artistry in this song, keeping with the vibes of his previously released music.
“One of them went down and one is made up, but in the end, we both lose // Why can’t we meet in the middle, call it even, call it a truce // Yeah if you quit telling lies about me, I won’t tell the truth about you”
Honestly, we predict that this jam will be another instant fan-favorite for the singer. We’re excited to see what is next for the recording artist, as we await another full-length project and more new music.

On the heels of Chris Young’s radio single “Famous Friends” featuring Kane Brown going number one on country radio, the singer is sharing even more music. Today, Young drops another jam entitled “One of Them Nights.”
This song has “tour” written all over it! “One of Them Nights” is a rowdy, feel-good song that will get everyone’s hearts pumping, during a live show. Young taps into his party-side on the brand new track. The new song is just another taste of what fans can expect from the entertainer’s upcoming album Famous Friends, due out on August 6th.
“Feels like one of them nights // Barbed wire, mud-tired, throw a pallet on the fire // We’ve been waiting all week // Shoes on the floorboards, creakin’ dance floor // sounds like a party to me // feels like one of them nights”
Young has a knack for weaving hard-hitting songs throughout his projects. “One of Them Nights” definitely fits the bill. Make sure to check back next month for our full review of the upcoming record!
