Chase Rice Featuring Florida Georgia Line Drop “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.”

Chase Rice released his new single, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” featuring Florida Georgia Line on all platforms yesterday (November 30th). Take a look below as we dive deeper into the track.

FGL Chase Rice Drinkin Beer Talkin God Amen

Chase Rice and Florida Georgia Line may be known for their feel-good, tailgate anthems, but they have always touched on religion and God in their music. Their new song, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” combines both elements. Written by Rice, Hunter Phelps, Cale Dodds and Florida Georgia Line producer, Corey Crowder, this song reminds us that even in unprecedented times like these, there is still a lot to be thankful for.

Sittin’ here. Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen / Killin’ time. Livin’ Life with some down-home friends / When the world’s gone crazy, man it all makes sense / Sittin’ here. Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.

The track combines all the sounds of a traditional country song with a more modern production. Rice stated that although 2020 brought a lot of hardships, it has made us realize what it most important to us–family, friends and faith.

“It’s a special song in that way because it really is a celebration of what 2020 became for us and a lot of other people — slowing down to enjoy these moments with our loved ones and having deeper, more meaningful conversations with each other,” Rice said in a recent press release.

Chase Rice Florida Georgia Line

Rice helped Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard co-write one of the biggest country songs of all-time, “Cruise” in 2012. Aside from writing the Diamond-certified hit, Rice, Kelley and Hubbard roomed together when they first moved to Nashville. The three have wanted to get back in the studio together for a long time.

“We are so excited to be on this jam with our boy Chase,” Hubbard exclaimed. “We’ve dreamed of being on the radio together ever since we were roommates 10 years ago. This song is the perfect one for us, as we often find ourselves drinking beer and talking God when we get together. We hope this brings lots of good times and great conversations.”

Florida Georgia Line has been rapidly putting out new music in the past few months, including their newest single to radio “Long Live.” For Rice, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” is his first release since The Album: Part II.

CMA Country Christmas – The Complete Recap

2020 ACM Entertainer of the Year, Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren Akins hosted CMA Country Christmas this year, which premiered last night on ABC. Keep reading below to see which other artists made an appearance during the holiday special.

CMA Country Christmas Recap

After playful banter between Rhett and his wife, Lady A let themselves in to perform a rendition of “Wonderful Christmastime.” Kelsea Ballerini followed with a performance of “Santa Baby.” She confessed her favorite holiday tradition is what she and her family call “Jammy Day,” where one of her relatives picks out embarrassing sets of matching pajamas for the family that has to be worn the entire day, regardless of where they are going.

After a performance of “It Wasn’t His Child” by Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line made their way to set to sing their fun, new holiday song, “Lit This Year.” Brian Kelley said he and his family hit the Florida beaches every Christmas and Hubbard takes his family to Idaho, where his wife, Hayley is from.

Gabby Barrett sang her version of “The First Noel,” which she just released digitally in October. After, Darius Rucker performed “What Child is This?” with dancer and violinist, Lindsey Sterling. Then, the show’s host performed his original holiday song, “Christmas in the Country.”

Little Big Town sang “Christmas Time is Here” before Dan + Shay performed their brand new original song, “Christmas Isn’t Christmas,” just released on November 20th. Lady A took the stage again to perform the final song of the night, the Beach Boys classic, “Little Saint Nick.” It was a wonderful night to relax and enjoy CMA Country Christmas with some of our favorite artists.

Who Is Cole Bradley? The Story Behind His Journey to Country Music

Who Is Cole Bradley? Talented new country artist from Canada, who now lives in Nashville with songs like “Love Made Me” and “Jean Jacket.”

Cole Bradley

Cole Bradley – Photo Credit Nick Patterson

Nashville is nicknamed “Music City” for a reason. It is full of talented young artists, who have a passion for the music industry and all that comes with it. Our latest Swag Spotlight artist, Cole Bradley fits the bill. He is talented, creative, and hungry for success, but most importantly he has an undeniable connection to country music.

Growing up in Calgary, Canada, Bradley always gravitated towards the creatives. He recalls singing as early as five years old and credits his family for introducing him to country music. “My first kind of memory is sitting in the backseat of my mom’s Toyota singing along to Garth Brooks’ ‘Greatest Hits’ record,” declared Bradley, “I would say that probably Garth Brooks was one of my biggest influences from day one.” Besides Brooks, the singer-songwriter grew up on country music stars like Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney.

With the support of his family always behind him, Bradley started releasing songs to iTunes in high-school and writing music even earlier than that; however, a college education was always important to him and his parents. During his first year in college, the singer balanced trips to Nashville for writes and demos with his education in Canada. It was during one of his trips to Music City, four years ago, that Bradley learned he could combine his passion for music with his desire for higher education.

“I toured the Belmont campus,” the singer began, “My parents were super supportive of me and were like if you want to transfer to Belmont [University] and be in Nashville to pursue your school and music at the same time, you’re more than welcome to.” Bradley made the big move a few weeks before his 19th birthday and started to play shows in Nashville the same year.

One year into his move, the entertainer got the honor of playing the coveted Bluebird Cafe for the first time in his young career. “It’s just iconic. The best place to play so far in my career,” shared Bradley, as he recounted all of his heroes who have also played at the venue. Presently, he has been invited back to play at the Bluebird several times, since his debut.

Since then, Bradley has continued to progress in his career. He graduated from Belmont University in July and released two singles this year, including “Love Made Me” and “Jean Jacket.” The unprecedented times that we are living in catapulted the singer to share more of his craft with the world. “I had all these songs recorded, but after the pandemic hit, I was like, life’s so short, and you never know what’s going to happen,” he stated, “I have to put out more music.”

Both songs are impactful, sentimental, and high-energy; despite, having different stories and inspirations. “My goal in music is just to connect my stories, my songs, and my feelings to as many people as possible,” Bradley exclaimed. “Love Made Me” captures the story of new love. “It was really a universal theme. They’re at the honeymoon stage of a relationship and falling head over heels for somebody.”

On the other hand, “Jean Jacket” represents all those feelings that we all go through when dealing with heartache. According to Bradley, “The idea was we all go through heartbreak and tough breakups in our lives, but I think the most important thing that can happen is to walk away with your pride,” adding, “Jean Jacket symbolizes a lot more and I thought it was a cool way to say something.”

Ultimately, it’s clear that Bradley is going to keep writing and recording music that is authentic to him and his story. We can expect more unique and enticing music from the singer-songwriter in early 2021, and maybe even an EP. Until then, make sure you are streaming both of his incredible tunes!

Fans can join our Weekly Round-Up e-newsletter here, for the latest in country music and more news about future Cole Bradley releases.

HARDY’s “One Beer” Earns Him His First Career #1 Single as an Artist

HARDY’s “One Beer” featuring Devin Dawson and Lauren Alaina has hit the top spot on the charts this week, earning him his first number-one single as an artist.

One of our favorite songwriters and artists in country music, HARDY, just scored his first number one as a recording artist with “One Beer”. We fell in love with the song long before it was chosen as a single and are so excited to see it land in the top spot! Check out our Swag Session below, where we talk to HARDY about all of the incredible touches that the song has to offer. With several number ones as a songwriter under his belt, the talented artist can officially celebrate another major feat with “One Beer”!

The song, “One Beer” features fellow country musicians, Devin Dawson and Lauren Alaina on the track. The story-telling, yet catchy tune, depicts a situation where a young couple finds their lives changing with a surprise pregnancy. Despite the specific nature of the song, “One Beer” is captivating and electrifying. New York fans definitely agreed as they sang along to every word of the song back in 2019, when the singer performed an acoustic version of the track during his NYC show, shortly after its original release.

It was in that breathtaking moment that we knew the song was something special. A little over a year to the date, we all get to celebrate “One Beer” at the top of the charts. We honestly cannot champion HARDY enough! He truly has got what it takes to become a bonafide superstar! His debut album, A ROCK is a masterpiece that leaves fans wanting more and more. Check out our Up Close & Virtual Interview below, where we chat with HARDY about the record. Congrats to HARDY, Devin, Lauren, and their teams on this incredible accomplishment!

The Best Deep Cuts from Miranda Lambert

At this point in her career, Miranda Lambert is a superstar and a staple in the country music genre. She embodies truth, story-telling, and sass in a way that is both humble, yet endearing. In her career, she has given us eight innovative studio albums and counting. Below are our favorite deep cuts from the multi-platinum singer-songwriter so far.

“Bathroom Sink” – Platinum

“Everybody is so tired of the drama / We’re still fighting like I’m sixteen / And I guess we always will be / She taught me how to pray and drink / And how to clean the bathroom sink”

Arguably one of the most vulnerable and real songs that she has released, “Bathroom Sink” is a hidden gem. The song talks about everything women go through on a daily basis that many do not realize. Kudos to Lambert for speaking her truth!

“Airstream Song” – Revolution

“Unbridled, or tethered in tide / Safety of the fence / Or the daughter of the ride / I’ll always be unsatisfied”

A fan-favorite, “Airstream Song” was written by Lambert and Natalie Hemby. The song is poetic, inviting, and a great reminder of the songstress’ talent as a vocalist.

“Keeper of the Flame” – The Weight of These Wings

“I’m the keeper of the flame / The teller of my story / Keeper of the flame”

This concert jam is Lambert’s story of road life. Constantly letting her fans into her psyche, Lambert impresses all of us with this song. We love how thematic and catchy this song truly is.

“I Wanna Die” – Kerosene

“Let’s make it up baby / Cause I ain’t gonna fight / If you’re the death of me darlin’ / I wanna die”

A complicated, chaotic love song from 2005 is one of those songs that you cannot help but relate to and think about after you listen. The soulful country tune reminds us of how honest country music is.

“All Kinds of Kinds” – Four the Record

“Ever since the beginning to keep the world spinning / It takes all kinds of kinds”

This mid-tempo country song is a statement. Lambert does not shy away from standing up for the disenfranchised and the vulnerable. It is a powerful statement about equality and justice.

“Tequila Does” – Wildcard

“They don’t love me like tequila does / Nobody can / They don’t give me that border town buzz”

Off her newest record Wildcard, “Tequila Does” is a catchy standout track. With a funky arrangement and fun lyrics, Lambert proves again and again why she will continue to make music for decades to come.

RaeLynn Releases ‘Merry Christmas’ – Two Holiday Songs

RaeLynn gets right to the point this holiday in new song “Jingle Bell Drunk” and takes some of the edge off with her take on a classic, “Silent Night”.

RaeLynn Merry Christmas

RaeLynn: Merry Christmas dropped Wednesday, November 25th, with two songs: an original song by RaeLynn, “Jingle Bell Drunk”, and her version of “Silent Night”.

In an Instagram post announcing the double release, she shares that “one’s a little naughty, one’s a little nice, just like me!” The statement couldn’t be more true as the two perfectly show off the two sides of RaeLynn that we love so much. One that just wants to have fun and one that’s classic with its own unique spin.

She wrote “Jingle Bell Drunk” with Corey Crowder, Ernest Keith Smith, and Rocky Block, and both songs were produced by Corey Crowder. The original song is a fun and energized track that aims to get fans in the holiday spirit and even more importantly, the drinking mood. It’s filled from start to finish with witty play-on-words that reference several classic Christmas songs. From the first line, “all I want for Christmas…”, to the last “…jingle bells, jingle bells, drinking all the way”, you’ll be wishing you could fast-forward to Christmas with a drink in your hand.

“ I’m getting jingle bell drunk this Christmas / I don’t give a jingle bell what, who isn’t / Listen, I’ve been naughty, I’ve been nice / Made my list and checked it twice “

RaeLynn: Merry Christmas follows her BAYTOWN EP release in August, her first release with Round Here Records, Florida Georgia Line’s label. The EP is named after her hometown and has six tracks, all of which she co-wrote, including the hit single “Me About Me”.

Keeping in the Christmas Spirit, RaeLynn made her Film Debut this past Saturday, November 21st, in the Hallmark Channels “A Nashville Christmas Carol”.

Morgan Wallen’s “More Than My Hometown” Earns Him His 4th Number 1

Morgan Wallen’s “More Than My Hometown” off his upcoming double record, Dangerous, hits the top spot on the charts this week, earning him his fourth consecutive career number one hit, following songs like “Up Down,” “Whiskey Glasses,” and “Chasin’ You.”

If there is anything Morgan Wallen has proven over his young career, it is that anything he releases is going to be a bonafide hit! The newly crowned CMA New Artist of The Year just released three brand new songs ahead of his double album, Dangerous, including “Somebody’s Problem,” “Livin’ The Dream,” and “Still Goin Down.” On top of that, his current single from the project, “More Than My Hometown” just secured the top spot on the country charts.

Wallen now has four hit songs under his belt as a recording artist, as well as, multiple accolades from the music industry and from fans. “More Than My Hometown” is just another pure example of how talented the singer-songwriter truly is. Written by Wallen with HARDY, Ernest, Keith Smith, and Ryan Vojtesak, the song is romantic, inviting, and bittersweet. He combines elements of both nostalgia and heartbreak while maintaining an undeniable charm and sense of self.

I love you more than a California sunset / More than a beer when you aint 21 yet / More than a Sunday morning Lord / Turnin’ some poor lost souls ’round, Hallelujah bound / I love you more than the feeling when the bass hits the hook / When a guy gets the girl at the end of the book / But, baby, this might be the last time I get to lay you down / Cause I cant love you more than my hometown”

Wallen remains one of the most exciting artists in the country genre. We predict another number one album in his future, as well as, bigger and bigger headlining shows. Congrats to Wallen and his team for another number one hit with “More Than My Hometown!”

Devin Dawson’s New Song “He Loved Her” Honors His Grandfather

The third of six new songs off new The Pink Slip EP from the Dark Horse singer, “He Loved Her” honors the simplistic life of the man who ‘lived life like a country song’, who Dawson hopes to follow the path of.

Devin Dawson He Loved Her

Devin Dawson “He Loved Her”

Devin Dawson just released another track “He Loved Her”, off of his upcoming EP,  The Pink Slip, set to release on January 15th. The song is a tribute to Dawson’s grandfather, who he says is “one of the most important people I’ll ever know.” He describes it as “one of the most important songs I’ve ever written or released.”

“He Loved Her” speaks to the simplistic lifestyle of Dawson’s grandfather, how much he admires the life he lived, and how he aspires to live a life like his. He hopes he can follow in his Grandfather’s footsteps, and he will know he has made it if he lives a life like his. He was “just a small town simple man, lived his life like a country song”.

“People like to talk about / what they’re gonna leave behind / and how they’re gonna change the world / what’s gonna define their lives / I guess I set my sights on / a different kind of legacy”

Dawson wrote the song with Nicolle Galyon and Jordan Reynolds. Galyon was behind Keith Urban’s “We Were Us” and Miranda Lambert’s “Automatic”. Reynolds was behind Dan + Shay’s “10,000 hours” and “Speechless” as well as Thomas Rhett’s “Life Changes”. The two worked together on Dan + Shay’s “Tequila” and “All to Myself”.

Dawson has toured with superstars Maren Morris, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill and with fellow label-mates, Dan + Shay and Brett Eldredge. “I Got A Truck”, another song off the EP, was actually inspired by a conversation with McGraw while on tour, that Dawson wrote as the story of McGraw’s path to success in the industry.

Dawson is still admiring the successes of his current feature on HARDY’s Top 5 single “One Beer” alongside Lauren Alaina, as well as the hit single “God’s Country”, the Grammy-nominated, ACM and CMA Single of the Year and multi-week No.1 that he co-wrote for Blake Shelton. Coming off of a largely successful year, Dawson returns to solo releases with The Pink Slip, after his 12-track 2018 album, Dark Horse, which he co-wrote every song on, including the Platinum-hit “All on Me”.

Garth Brooks ‘FUN’ and ‘Triple Live Deluxe’ Album Review

Old and new Garth Brooks songs have been released through two albums, Triple Live Deluxe and FUN, that provide listeners with the idea that the “If Tomorrow Never Comes” singer is not straining away from the contemporary spotlight while, still, remembering his roots and past success. Learn more about both releases below.

Garth Brooks FUN

One of the most influential, respected and noteworthy country music performers has released not one, but two albums. A live collection filled with Garth Brooks’ most iconic hits titled Triple Live Deluxe acts as a 2020 alternative to a concert with the 7-time CMA Entertainer of the Year. And, each production carries through the energy and passion that Brooks consistently executes in his performances. The adjoining project, his 12th studio album FUN, has been highly anticipated after months of promotions and talk regarding the first full-length release from the “Ask Me How I Know” singer since his 2016 Gunslinger album.

Brooks, who has been inclined to perform medleys all throughout his career such as the 1994 ACM award show in which he acknowledged all artists who influence him such as George Jones, Glen Campbell and George Strait or, most recently, during the 2020 BBMA’s where he was awarded with the Icon Award before laying down vocals from a handful of his greatest numbers, provides listeners with a permanent, always accessible blend of classics with Triple Live Deluxe. The 30-track album is a true, virtual experience of the record-breaking “Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood” along with additional tracks from his 2019 Stadium Tour. With the noise of the audience and dialogue from the world-famous headliner between songs, Triple Live Deluxe emphasizes the strength in raw and unfiltered moments in a way that makes it known that Brooks shines through live performance.

An unexpected yet highly moving track lives among these timeless, never-gets-old hits. “Guy Goin’ Nowhere” is one of the only exceptions throughout the entire piece that highlights a separate artist. Ashley McBryde released “Girl Goin’ Nowhere” in March 2018 which essentially put her on the map in country music after her debut single “A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega”. Brooks’ rendition of this vulnerable, steadfast number is a telltale sign that these lyrics, written by McBryde and Jeremy Bussey, quiet a room and add sentiment, empathy and courage to all listening whether it be in a concert venue or not. However, similar to the way Brooks has his finest moments in a live setting, this song, whether sung by McBryde or Brooks, soars in the same setting where an audience is directly impacted by the fragility of the environment where the chords and words fly delightfully unpolished.

FUN takes on a different path. It includes previous releases such as the cover of “Shallow” with Trisha Yearwood as well as the well-known collaboration with Blake Shelton “Dive Bar”, plus his 2018 releases “All Day Long” and “Stronger Than Me”. Though it triggers a separate part of the brain to listen to the new music after a walk down memory lane with Triple Live Deluxe, this new studio album is everything familiar, compelling and energizing.

The intro song, “The Road I’m On”, shines a light on Brooks’ career in the music industry thus far. The words sung depict everything this double album release suggests: this firm, immovable act in country music, who has stood on many stages, is not straining away from the contemporary spotlight any time soon. The track incorporates an attractive beat that touches upon a bit of a country-rock crossroad while maintaining the Brooks style.

“From the honky-tonks to the big stage, I’ve played ’em the same way / And I’m left to stand where I stand / All of the places and all of the faces / Who make me who I am / Thanks for makin’ me feel like bein’ home on this road I’m on”

“The Courage of Love”, written by John Martin and Brooks, resembles the wearing-my-heart-on-my- sleeve type discography of the #1 selling solo artist in US history in the best way. It acts as a message to men to act human; to show fear and regret. Lyrically, the evolution of man and what it takes to be one is diminished with the simple truth that being able to love in a courageous way is the challenge.

“The hardest thing you’ll ever do is tell someone you’re sorry / You’ll never be the bravest man if you can’t admit you’re scared / What you do, in what you say / The strength it’s gonna take to stay / Comes from somewhere high up above / That’s the courage of love”

“Where The Cross Don’t Burn” is a tender-hearted melody among meaning-of-life lyrics (Troy Jones and Phil Thomas) regarding racial difference. Charley Pride lays his words and soul down alongside Brooks in this production which makes for an incredibly moving and powerfully gripping story.

“In the land where the cotton grows / In a time when change came slow / Just beyond the point of no return / A young boy and a black old man / On the tracks walkin’ hand in hand / That’s where I come to understand and learn / Where the cross don’t burn”

This double album release is an inspirational and heart-wrenching reminder of the power that music holds. Triple Live Deluxe not only brings nostalgia to the table, but it simultaneously carries notes of joy, excitement, anticipation, and loss. It is a reflection of who we were in relation to who we are now. FUN, follows that idea with growth, strength, pain, and the courage of love. Together, the projects produce a variety of emotions in which every listener can identify and understand after this year alone.

After thirty years in music, Brooks holds the title of reigning champion on difficult topics while delivering grace, trust, faith, and honor.
