Kameron Marlowe Shares Vulnerable New Song “Take Me Home”

Kameron Marlowe shares brand new song “Take Me Home,” out now on all streaming platforms. Listen to the new track below.

One of our 2021 Artists to Watch, Kameron Marlowe is back with his newest song. Following the release of his stellar debut album, We Were Cowboys, Marlowe is releasing his most vulnerable song to date, a ballad called “Take Me Home.”

“Take me home Carolina // I don’t want to be here anymore // I’m tired of all these buildings // And people that fill their hollow floors// They are full of opinions // They tell me that they know wrong from right // They love to leave you when you’re down”

The singer-songwriter has one of the most distinct vocals in the current genre right now. “Take Me Home” showcases that beautifully. The song is a track Marlowe never thought he would release; however, we are super glad he did.

According to the singer, as written in his Instagram caption, “What you’re hearing is a song I wrote in 30 mins at my house in Nashville after getting a call that just left me feeling empty inside. I never thought I’d release this let alone the day of recording I did on my phone. This business is hard and there are so many highs and lows a ton of comparison on not feeling like you’re doing enough fast enough.” He went on to add, “I feel like so many can relate because how many times have you just wanted to give up and go home but you don’t you keep fighting because you know deep down it’s what you’re meant to do.”

“Take Me Home” is one of those songs that leave you feeling deeply seen and understood; despite, it being personal to Marlowe himself. The singer-songwriter is the real deal, and we cannot wait to see how fans react to this incredible new song.

Kameron Marlowe: ‘We Were Cowboys’ – Album Review

Kameron Marlowe’s brand new, debut album, We Were Cowboys is out now, August 26th on all streaming platforms. Take a listen and read our full review below.

Since the first time we heard “Giving You Up,” we knew Kameron Marlowe was going to be a star. When we heard, “Steady Heart,” it was cemented. With the officially release of his debut album, We Were Cowboys, we are even more convinced! Marlowe is a standout vocalist and songwriter amongst a sea of talented musicians in country music. We Were Cowboys LP proves that he is here to stay.

Themes of nostalgia, heartbreak, and romance are evident throughout the sixteen song project. The title track and the the final song, “Long Way Down,” bookend project, both introducing who Marlowe is to the audience and reminding fans how primed for the stage he is. “We Were Cowboys” feels almost autobiographical, as it is clear that the singer-songwriter weaved some of his Carolina upbringing throughout the intricate lyrics.

“When I turned 16 my saddle was the front seat of that 1993 Silverado // On a dirt road // I was Eastwood cool with a Marlboro Red // Aztec blanket in an eight food bed // Earnin’ braggin’ rights, every Saturday night // Them small town girls couldn’t help but fall for us // We were cowboys”

Marlowe features other nostalgic and personal songs throughout the project. On “This Old Town” the singer-songwriter leans into the traditional country sound, expressing the nostalgia of country living. On “Country Boy’s Prayer,” one of the few outside cuts,  the traditional sound is heard again, as the singer talks to God. However, clearly one of the most personal on the record is the homey song, “Granny’s Got a Garden (For G’maw Jan)”

Although, we love the nostalgic songs, Marlowe shines on the break-up tracks that are sprinkled throughout the impressive project. While breakout songs like “Giving You Up,” “Girl On Fire,” and “Burn ‘Em All” gives fans a taste of the variety in the singer-songwriter’s talent, it is songs like “Does It Have to Be Over,” “Fool Me Again,” and “Over Now,” that continue to impress us.

Marlowe let’s his gritty vocals shine on “Does It Have to be Over.” He laments about not wanting a relationship to end, something we can all relate to. Similarly, on “Fool Me Again,” the singer-songwriter reflects on the could of beens and the remnants of a broken relationship. On the contrary, “Over Now” is a break-up tune that focuses on breaking up in the hopes of starting over one day.

“It is is what it is // And it ain’t what it was // And the same me saying let’s get back to us // This is loving you enough to tell you goodbye // Cause it’s all we got left that we ain’t yet tried // So let’s start over now”

Marlowe puts a twist on a break-up song on “Saying Goodbye.” Taking the perspective of an ex-lover, the singer talks to a future guy who dates the same girl, providing advice throughout the song. “There ain’t nothing like a girl saying goodbye // It’s like the world goes dark for a little while // You’re going to live, but a part of you is going to die.” The singer takes the advice-giving approach on the gritty song “Money Ain’t $hit” too.

Marlowe’s debut project is everything we hoped it would be. The singer clearly takes his craft seriously, creating music that is going to continue to attract more and more fans as his young career blossoms. According to the singer in a recent press release, he expresses, “I couldn’t be prouder of this project, and I’m incredibly excited for fans to get a deeper look at who I am through these songs.” He definitely should be proud!

Kameron Marlowe’s sultry new song, “Tequila Talkin'” arrives just in time for Cinco De Mayo. Available everywhere you buy or stream music now, May 5th, take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the track.

One of our new favorite singer-songwriters, Kameron Marlowe is blessing us with new music today! We named Marlowe one of our 2021 NYCountry Swag Artists to Watch for good reason, and his new single, out today is a perfect example. The singer dropped “Tequila Talkin’” as his first new song, since the release of his debut self-titled EP.

Written with incredible songwriters, Ray Fulcher and Dan Isbell, Marlowe manages to create another song that we just cannot get enough of. “Tequila Talkin’” is a smooth, romantic, and sultry jam, all about falling in lust/love at first sight. The artist relies on his smoldering vocals to paint the picture of a romantic encounter between two new lovers.

“That ain’t the tequila talkin’ babe // The way you’re smiling has got me thinking maybe // We should let the salt and the lime have its way // We’ll make up our minds tomorrow, but either way // Baby, I’m fallin’ // And that ain’t the tequila talkin’”

Although the song is not reinventing the wheel, the track feels new and innovative, when sung by Marlowe. “Tequila Talkin’” fits in perfectly with the singer’s former releases, and we’re sure the song is going to resonate with fans across the country genre. Currently, Marlowe’s debut single to country radio “Sober as a Drunk” continues to gain traction. This new jam is sure to create even more buzz around the promising new artist.

Who is Kameron Marlowe? The Story Behind His Journey to Country Music

This week we shine our spotlight on a promising new artist in the industry that we believe has what it takes to make it big. Kameron Marlowe is a newcomer on the scene but has so much talent to share with the world. We chatted with him about his upbringing, the release of his debut EP, and everything in between.

Kameron Marlowe

Kameron Marlowe

Growing up in Kannapolis, North Carolina, Marlowe’s focus has been on music since high school, when he played in a band and listened to music all the time. “I really didn’t listen to anything that was current. I guess I just have always been that way,” he explained, “I am one of the biggest Ray Charles fans there can be. But, Brooks and Dunn is probably my favorite country band of all time.” Marlowe also shared a love for artists like George Strait, Merle Haggard, and Chris Stapleton.

Although he clearly loves country music, it was not until he graduated and found himself working a job at General Motors that he realized that music was what he wanted to do for a living. As the singer started playing shows at local venues and bars, he received a life-changing call from someone from NBC’s hit television show The Voice. “I think that’s when music started to really, really make a change in my life,” he began, “Once the show ended, I couldn’t think about life without music again, so I started writing songs and started coming to town, meeting as many people as I could. I just wanted to immerse myself as deep as I could [in music].”

Marlowe made the move to Nashville, armed with a mission to make his dream come true. He continued to network in town, which eventually led him to earn both a publishing deal and a record deal. Despite the success, the singer continues to work on his craft every single day. “I am just trying to find my place and find my spot here in Nashville. I can’t say that I’m doing it better than anyone else, but I want to learn and I’m learning every day,” Marlowe exclaimed, “Music is what I want to do for the rest of my life, I can’t imagine doing anything else but music now.”

The singer-songwriter made his dreams a reality, finally releasing his debut self-titled EP last Friday (11/13). Chock full of songs for the everyday country fan and relatable lyrics, Marlowe reminds us all why we love this genre so much. In our conversation, he shared the difficult process of choosing of the six songs to represent his craft. “With this EP, my goal was really to establish myself,” he expressed, adding that even the songs he didn’t write like “Sober As a Drunk” and “Going There Today” were important to share. “If I feel like people need to hear something or that people would like to hear [a song] and it relates to me, I always want to make sure that this song gets heard because there’s so many great songs and songwriters in Nashville.”

On the other hand, the EP also includes incredible songs that Marlowe did have a hand in writing. His most popular song to date, “Giving You Up,” was a solo-write inspired by his feelings about breaking up with the girl he thought he was going to marry, while, “Burn ‘Em All” came to fruition at a co-write, where all the writers were feeling burnt out. The song ended up being inspired by the blue-collar worker.

As a whole, the record is a good representation of Marlowe’s story so far. “All these songs are just things that kinda have happened in my life since moving to Nashville and things that have affected my life before Nashville,” the singer-songwriter shared, “And I’m really just wanting to convey who I am as an artist in this EP and looking forward to maybe making a full record next.”

Besides making sure to listen to the EP, again and again, fans can look forward to more songs by Marlowe as we head into 2021. The singer hinted at possibly recording songs like “Tequila Talkin’” and “Steady Heart,” as well as, hoping to get a new batch of music out to fans. We are sure whatever is coming down the pipeline next will only elevate Marlowe and his blossoming career!

Kameron Marlowe: Self-Titled Debut EP – Review

Kameron Marlowe’s brand new self-titled EP is available now, November 13th on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we recap our first impression of the songs off the new EP.

Kameron Marlowe

Kameron Marlowe EP, out now November 13th

Here at NYCountry Swag, we pride ourselves on truly having an ear for good music and incredible singer-songwriters. We can honestly say that recording artist and songwriter, Kameron Marlowe is the real deal, and it is only just the beginning for the budding star. Marlowe just released his debut major label self-titled EP today, and you are going to want to listen, and listen again!

Beginning with his debut single and solo-write, “Giving You Up,” Marlowe takes fans on a journey through the other side of a breakup when you are finally just about over someone and moving on, and then your ex calls. He sings about putting an end to the back and forth nature of a messy breakup. The song was a hit with fans, garnering over 27 million spins on Spotify, and with its catchy tune and touching lyrics, it is clear why.

“Cause I’m giving you up, just like I did them Marlboro Lights / And I’m giving you up, the same way I did the whiskey on ice”

Marlowe transitions into another relatable song, “Sober As A Drunk.” The song is full of play on words and enticing comparisons, as you navigate the unwanted feelings of missing someone. Although comprised of melancholy lyrics, the singer finds a way to highlight the mid-tempo nature of the catchy tune.

Continuing to tug at our heartstrings and showcase vulnerability, Marlowe emotes on “Goin’ There Today” with one of the best vocal performances on the project. One of our favorites off the EP, the story-telling song walks us through the emotions of a guy trying to stay clear from the person that broke his heart. The title is a way to express avoiding memories that are associated with pain and heartache.

“I sure could go for a cup of black coffee / They serve the best at the corner cafe / But it’ll have to wait ‘cause truth is / I don’t feel like goin’ there today”

On the next song, “Burn ‘Em All,” which was also released earlier this year, Marlowe relates to the everyday man, paying homage to the blue-collar workers and all the hardworking people out there. The track perfectly highlights the singer’s gritty growl and enticing vocals. Similarly, “Hungover,” one of the most upbeat tunes on the EP features killer vocals. This time the singer aims to get away from the heartache by doing what we all have done, drinking. “I’m in the middle of a heartbreak bend,” sings Marlowe in one of the most relatable lyrics there is.

The EP ends with another impressive vocally-driven song entitled “Leavin’ to Me.” On the track, Marlowe pleads with his partner to break up with him. It’s clear that the relationship is toxic, but we all know how hard it is to leave something that we thought would be our forever. This song is just another example of how well Marlowe can emote, sing, and write.

After listening to the six songs off the EP, fans will be able to understand both the type of music that Marlowe makes and his journey to choosing these songs for his record. Laced with songs for the everyday, hardworking fans and breakup songs that everyone can relate to, Marlowe has tapped into a side of country music that all fans can appreciate.
