Written by Marlowe with Jessi Alexander, and Dan Isbell, the song was inspired by Marlowe’s parents almost 30 year relationship. “This song is incredibly special to me and because of that I’ve been holding onto it until the time was right. It’s one of my favorite’s I’ve ever been a part of,” shares the singer. “‘Steady Heart’ is a love story about finding that person who balances you and makes you better. The lyrics are these striking images, and I’d never written a song as based in visuals as this one. ”

“But God only knows where we’ll end up // When you mix my calloused ways with her sweet touch // She’s a candlelight in all my dark // When we come together we’re the best of who we are // My stubborn mind and her steady heart // Her steady heart”

The idea of having balance in relationship is something we should all strive for. Marlowe’s emotions shine through on the track. It is clear that his parent’s relationship have deeply impacted him in profound ways. Marlowe is the real deal and we’re certain he will be here for a long time.
