Chris Young Releases Next Single “If That Ain’t God”

If That Ain't God Chris Young

These last few months have been tough, but Chris Young reminds us of the positive to come out of every situation with his new single “If That Ain’t God”.

Written by Young, Matt Roy, Mitchell Oglesby, and Greylan James, the song has beautiful acoustics, putting you instantly in a tranquil setting. “If That Ain’t God” has a beautiful message of hope, as it starts out with a child hitting a home run after beating cancer. The Tennessee native then sings about his own struggles and how grateful he is for where God led him in his career. It’s the perfect reminder that we all go through tough times, but it’s what makes us who we are today. We are all on a path, and God will steer us to where we are supposed to be.

“If that ain’t God if that ain’t Him / If that ain’t the man upstairs somewhere looking down on us again / Don’t it make you wanna pray, don’t it make you wanna live / Oh, if that ain’t God, if that ain’t God, I don’t know what is”

This is Young’s first release in over a year after releasing “Drowning” in 2019, and he has hit out of the park again. The singer-songwriter teased the song on his Instagram on May 27th and after an overwhelming response from fans, he decided it would be his next single. We can’t thank him enough for deciding to release this song. It’s a song that we all need to hear, especially now.

To keep up with Chris Young follow him on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

“If That Ain’t God”  is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’  playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.

Avenue Beat Is Speaking the Truth with “Fuck 2020”

Literally every time we write about the powerful female trio that is Avenue Beat, we become more and more in awe of their talent, charisma, and uniqueness. Their song “i don’t really like your boyfriend” went viral on TikTok just last month, and fans begged for the rising artists to release a recorded version, they obliged. Now, Avenue Beat is at it again with another viral song, “Fuck 2020.”

Like all of us, Sami, Savana, and Sam have been navigating this pandemic in their own ways. For the songstresses, singing and songwriting seem to have remained their number one coping skill, and we are reaping the benefits. “Fuck 2020” is an anthem for this year. The ladies cuss out the year with this necessary, yet pleasing song. The second the beat drops and the chorus hits, you become a full-fledged fan of the song and in turn of Avenue Beat.

“Yo my cat died / and a global pandemic took over my life / And I put out some music nobody liked / So I got really sad and bored at the same time / That’s why I’m like / Lowkey fuck 2020/ Still sad, still ain’t got no money”

The ladies express all the turmoil we all feel about how crazy this year has been so far. Through their catchy, yet truthful lyrics. Furthermore, the fact that they had the courage to release it on their social media platforms, and are now, once again, obliging fans by recording it, just shows how much guts and passion they have for their music and their fans. You’re lying if you don’t think “Fuck 2020” is a smash hit. Avenue Beat has somehow found their own lane in music, and we are loving every second of it.

To keep up with Avenue Beat follow them on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

Kindness Isn’t Canceled Spotlight: Tyler Rich Supports @travelingmessage

It has been a tough few months in quarantine for us, our friends in Nashville, for the country, and for the world. Small businesses are struggling to stay afloat, people are trying to rebuild their homes, many Americans are losing their jobs, and we are all forced to stay in as we fight through this pandemic. Despite all this turmoil, beauty and kindness have remained.

We decided to flip the script and shine our spotlight, while we can, on some of the kindness that we have witnessed from others because Kindness Isn’t Canceled. To grab your exclusive shirt, click here.

This week we chose to focus on an act of kindness that is a small, but mighty gesture. Social media is a big part of our everyday lives, but sometimes it can feel overwhelming to keep up with the Instagram “image.” However, Tyler Rich and his beautiful wife Sabina Gadecki have a knack for keeping their social media platforms humble and real. Recently, Rich posted a photo of himself with Sabina embracing, and holding a sign that reads, “Fall in Love With Yourself First.” The duo tagged an Instagram called @thetravelingmessage.

The newly formed Instagram is a site that was created to spread positivity, something we all desperately need during these unsettling times. The Instagram, created by close friends of the couple, shows beautiful images of views from around the world paired with powerful anecdotes and quotes. These messages from strangers are exactly what we need to fill up our cup. Even better, this new Instagram community encourages people to submit their own inspirational messages to be featured on the feed, so we can continue to spread the good vibes without even leaving our comfort zones! Following along here.

Know somebody spreading incredible acts of kindness during these difficult times? Email us at: [email protected].

We look forward to continuing to keep bringing you more stories that remind us that Kindness Isn’t Canceled. Join us in our campaign, and buy yourself a t-shirt here. As always, we appreciate you support of  NYCountry Swag.

Luke Combs Performs Another New Track, “Cold As You”

Cold As You

Luke Combs is a superstar in country music and can write songs about love, self-reflection, relationships, and more topics with the best of them. But there is one subject in which he masters; beer. Beers for break-ups, beers for nights at the honky-tonk; whatever the occasion, he can write a hit about it. Combs premiered an unreleased song titled “Cold As You” for his fans last month on social media. Watch it below:

“Cold As You” is a song about the type of bar that helps mend broken hearts. Combs paints the picture of the ambiance, like how “Whiskey River” is playing on the jukebox, how the bathrooms stalls are covered in phone numbers, but most importantly, how the beer they serve is almost as cold as the one who left them.

And plenty damn many when you want one more / This broke heart fool on an old barstool / drinking beer almost as cold as you

With all this downtime from touring, many artists have been writing new music and performing it on their social media pages. Combs is one artist who has been especially taking advantage of it.

Combs’ tour was slated to start his tour in September, with two dates at Madison Square Garden on November 30th and December 1st. It would be a shame if COVID-19 cancels those shows as well.

Don’t miss another new song from Combs by following him on InstagramFacebook, and Twitter.

7 Ways To Fill The Void of Missing Live Music

Missing Concerts

Believe us when we tell you, we feel your pain! We miss live music so much, it hurts. One of the things we love most about NYCountry Swag is getting to connect with our followers at live shows by some of our favorite artists all across New York City and Long Island. It has been tough getting through the last few months without concerts to look forward to. Although nothing can quite cure the ache that will remain until our world is reinstated, here are a few ways to hold you over and fill the void of missing live music.

Reminisce with friends

Chat with your friends about some of your favorite concert memories and look back on some of your old videos and pictures. Remembering some of the good times will feel nostalgic, but also remind you that love (and live music) is worth waiting for! A good concert is all about good energy and a great atmosphere, so create that in the comfort of your own home.

Throw a virtual or social-distancing ‘concert’ with your crew

What better way to cure the concert blues than to have your own concert! Grab a group of friends or head or a plan a virtual get together and have a Karaoke night. It may sound silly at first, but hearing your friends sing their favorite songs by their favorite artists will lighten the mood and brighten your spirits in no time.

Attend a live-stream concert like you would a real live show

One of the best things to come out of this quarantine is virtual concerts. So many artists from newcomers to superstars are performing (for free) online as part of campaigns or just for fun to connect with their fans. We especially love Luke Combs live-stream from last month. This might even give you a chance to see an artist you would not be able to see otherwise!

Create a list of all the musicians you want to see

With so much time to think about our dream concert line-up, it is time to make a list of all the artists you want to see for the first time or for the 100th time. I personally hope to see Eric Church and Ashley McBryde next year! It will make it that much sweeter when you are finally able to snag those concert tickets again.

Watch a concert film or documentary

Get your concert and festival fix by watching some of the many concert films and documentaries available across streaming platforms today. You can even watch one of the specials on TV. Recently, CMT premiered a TV special called ‘CMT Celebrate Our Heroes,’ which featured some of our favorite country music artists.

Make or listen to killer playlists

We know that listening to music cannot take the place of seeing a live performance, but it can help. Listen to new Spotify playlists that fit your mood or even create your own. We encourage you to take a look at our Spotify here. Additionally, you can always create a playlist of live renditions of some of your favorite tunes too.

Support local artists

It is inevitable that dive bars will probably have live performers playing before any arena in the state opens up, so it is the perfect time to support your local acts. I know the second I hear of a live performance (of any caliber) near my town, I will be there!

Lindsay Ell Releases “wAnt me back” and Reveals Album Details

LIndsay Ell Want Me Back

Lindsay Ell is a Canadian country songstress that has been on the rise since her debut The Project. She celebrated her success with single “Criminal” off that record and her recent hit with “What Happens In A Small Town” with Brantley Gilbert. Earlier this week, the singer announced her second full-length record slated for release later this summer. Just hours after this announcement, Ell dropped her new single “wAnt me back” following heartbreaker realization “I Don’t Love You” a few months prior.

“wAnt me back,” written alongside Kane Brown, Matt McGinn, and Lindsay Rimes is a confident track of Ell’s straight from the heels of a breakup. The track takes place in the anger period of a breakup, and it shows the country singer + songwriter knows what she is worth. She sings: “If I were you, I’d miss my kiss // I’d miss me keeping you up all night // If I were you, I know that losing me // Would make me lose my mind // You ain’t gonna find nobody like me // I’m the best you ever had // and I’m always gonna be // So if I were you if I were you/ I’d want me back too.”

In coordination with her latest single release, Ell also announced her sophomore album, heart theory, sharing in an Instagram post, “it’s been a long time coming working on LE2, but I am so excited to announce that my sophomore album heart theory is available now for pre-order!! Along with pre-ordering the album, you will be able to hear my next single “wAnt me back”. I wrote this song with kanebrown_music, @matthewmcginn, & @lindsayrimes. It’s all about stepping into your own power. Let me know what you think below!! ”

heart theory combats the seven stages of grief: shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing, and acceptance. It’s produced by Dan Huff and will be released on August 14th.

To keep up with Lindsay Ell follow her on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

“wAnt me back” is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music here on our “New Country Music” playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.
