Thomas Rhett Scores 18th Number One Single with “Country Again”

Thomas Rhett’s song “Country Again” officially marks his eighteenth number one single on Country Radio. The track follows the success of “What’s Your Country Song.”

Platinum-selling superstar, Thomas Rhett can truly do no wrong with fans and the country music industry alike. His talent transcends genres and generations. Back in March, his lead single “What’s Your Country Song,” the lead single off his record Country Again Side A, earned him his seventeenth number one song. Today, the second single off that project, “Country Again” is the next number one song of his career.

“Country Again” peaked the interest of fans, even before its release. The song strips back the production and focuses on simplicity. As the lyrics state, Rhett favors small-town life to the glitz and glam of fame. The song marks the singer’s return to his roots. Although we love everything Rhett puts out, it is nice to see him return to the sound and style of music that made him a household name.

“I spent way less time in Nashville // And more time in L.A. // My back home buddies, they quit callin’ // Thought I had too much on my plate // But last night we cracked some cold beers // And cranked Eric Church to ten // Thought, Man, it feels good to be country again”

Only time will tell what is next for Rhett’s career. It seems everything he touches is a success, and for good reason. Fans can look forward to the next installment of the singer’s double album, slated to come out later this year. Congrats to Rhett and his team for another hit!

Parmalee Scores #1 Song with “Just The Way” featuring Blanco Brown

Parmalee’s “Just The Way” featuring Blanco Brown earns them number one song as the tune hits the top spot on the country charts this week.

It has been seven years, since country band, Parmalee found themselves at the top of the charts with “Carolina.” Now, their smash hit with fellow artist and friend, Blanco Brown, “Just The Way” revitalized their career and exponentially grew their prospective fanbase. Today the upbeat song found its way to the top of the country charts, marking Brown’s first number one on country radio.

Written by Matt Thomas, Kevin Bard, and Nolan Sipe, “Just The Way” is a song that encourages acceptance and loving people for who they are. Boasting equality, it is refreshing to see a song like this take the number one spot on the charts. The song shares the impossible task of being perceived as perfect on social media and to society, adding that flaws are really what makes us human.

“I love you just the way God made you // Girl, he don’t make mistakes // What you call your imperfections // I call beautiful, babe // So let my eyes be your mirror // And you’re bound to see it too // ‘Cause I was made for loving // Just the way God made you”

Parmalee and Brown take turns singing their prospective verses. During the chorus and bridge, the band and singer show how effortless their voices mesh together, as well as, how incredibly talented they all are.

Luke Bryan Earns 26th #1 Song with “Down To One”

Luke Bryan’s latest single “Down To One” earns him his 26th number one as the song hits the top spot on the country charts this week.

A little-known fact here around NY Country Swag is our founder, Stephanie got into country music when she discovered none other than Luke Bryan. Like Steph and many of us, Bryan continues to be a staple on our playlists. With over twenty number one hit songs to his name and almost two decades of music in his catalog, the singer scored another top song this week with “Down To One,” marking this his 26th consecutive number one hit.

Bryan’s music style can be described sometimes as country and sometimes as pop-country, but ultimately his charming ways keep you coming back for more. Every song he releases has heart and catchy lyrics to back it up. “Down To One” is the fourth single from Bryan’s seventh studio album Born Here Live Here Die Here. Although the entertainer did not write this tune, he knew right away that it was a hit in the making.

“We were down to 1 A.M. / Listenin’ to one more song / Thinkin’ I want more than just one night out here with you alone / Down to that last Bud Light / In the back of that two-tone, half-ton / My heart was tellin’ me that one more kiss, and I’d be done”

The track is an easy and effortless love song that fits Bryan’s style and vocals perfectly. The mellow love song is one of those tracks that you cannot help but smile at while you listen. We know that this jam will become a staple at live shows when Bryan and his band can finally take the stage again. Until then, fans can get their Luke fix by watching American Idol each week!

Additionally, Bryan will release the deluxe version of his Born Here, Live Here, Die Here album which will include six brand new songs, on April 9th.

Chris Lane’s “Big, Big Plans” Earns Him His Third Career #1 Song

Chris Lane’s “Big, Big Plans” has hit the top spot on the charts this week, earning him his third number-one song following “Fix” and “I Don’t Know About You”.

Just a few days after platinum-selling recording artist, Chris Lane announced the incredible news that his wife, Lauren Bushnell Lane is pregnant with their first child, Lane’s current radio single, “Big, Big Plans” went number one.

Marking his third number one song as an artist, including “Fix” and “I Don’t Know About You,” “Big, Big Plans” is the song that personifies the singer’s relationship with Bushnell. He wrote the song as a surprise to his then-girlfriend to act as the backdrop for their exciting proposal. With such a high demand for the tune, it is clear that fans were sure to make this song hit the top spot!

“She don’t know I got some big, big plans / Build a little house out on some hand-me-down land / Find a little island where we go to get a tan / I bet we take our kids down there one day”

Ironically, the song foreshadows the couple’s future, including having kids, which is now their soon-to-be reality. In regards to new music, Lane promises fans that he is currently working on his next studio album. It is unclear if “Big, Big Plans” will make it on to the new record, but if we had to guess, we’d say it deserves a spot!

Congrats to Lane and his team at Big Loud Records for landing another hit song!
