After teasing the track back in October 2021, Morgan Wallen surprised fans with a post on TikTok revealing that the previously unreleased song, “Don’t Think Jesus” would officially be released on Friday, April 15th.
Wallen first previewed the song on Instagram, sharing that the tune was written by his friends (Chase McGill, Jessi Alexander, and Mark Holman) with him in mind. Admitting the song brought him to tears on first listen, Wallen went on to perform his own acoustic version of the song.
“Don’t Think Jesus” is relatable and comparable to Wallen’s own journey thus far. The ballad has a pure traditional country sound paired with Wallen’s unique vocals making it an instant fan-favorite.
Check back on Friday, April 15th for the official release of the brand new song, “Don’t Think Jesus”.

As part of the TODAY Show Citi Concert Series, superstar Thomas Rhett took to the stage in New York City on Tuesday, April 5th. The country music icon sang some of his hits, including “What’s Your Country Song” and “Look What God Gave Her” to a crowd of fans that lined up in the early morning hours to see him perform.
Rhett also spent some time chatting with the TODAY hosts about his success so far, his family, and much more. The singer-songwriter even opened up with Hoda Kotb about his growing family and adoption. He admitted that he is not ready yet to share with his oldest child, Willa Gray that she is adopted just yet.
“You go, ‘Well, what age is the right age?’ The world is moving so fast that it’s like, to have a conversation with a 6-year-old like that,” shared Rhett, during the interview. “Maybe I’m old-school that way but I’m like, ‘Maybe we need to wait ’til she’s 10.” Rhett also shared about what his daughters think of his music – showcasing how much of a family man he truly is.
Overall, Rhett proved to be a real class act on the show, and his performances were nothing short of spectacular!

Artists across all genres gathered Sunday night to celebrate life and music at the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards. Hosted by Trevor Noah, the event aired live on CBS and took place in Las Vegas for the first time ever. Find out which artists received music’s most prestigious honors in the article below.
Chris Stapleton was country music’s big winner, walking away with three awards including Best Country Solo Performance for “You Should Probably Leave,” Best Country Song with “Cold,” and the only televised country award, Best Country Album for his latest project, Starting Over. Shortly after accepting the award, which was presented by Kelsea Ballerini, Stapleton performed “Cold”, which was met with a standing ovation.
Other Nashville-based artists received time in the spotlight towards the end of the show; Keith Urban announced the award for Record of the Year, which was given to Silk Sonic for “Leave The Door Open;” Carrie Underwood sang her new single “Ghost Story” for the first time live; and Brothers Osborne closed out the show with an electric performance of “Dead Man’s Curve” that had many in the audience dancing and clapping along including Olivia Rodrigo, BTS, and Lady Gaga. Brandi Carlile and Billy Strings performed as well.
Brothers Osborne and Underwood also received awards before the show. Brothers Osborne won Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Younger Me” and Underwood’s My Savior won Best Roots Gospel Album.
Other big winners outside of the genre included Rodrigo, who won Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance with “driver’s license,” and Best Pop Vocal Album with her debut project, Sour; CeCe Winans won Best Gospel Album, Best Gospel Performance/Song, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song; The Foo Fighters won Best Rock Song, Performance, and Album; andJohn Batiste took home five awards including Album of the Year for We Are. Batiste led all artists with eleven nominations.

Who is Karley Scott Collins? The singer-songwriter joined us to chat about her journey to country music. Get to know the rising star here…
The Beginning:
Today our spotlight shines on newly signed Sony Music Nashville recording artist, Karley Scott Collins. She is an incredible vocalist with a talent for crafting heartfelt and personal lyrics. We enjoyed getting to know her and her story in this week’s interview.
Growing up in a small-town in Florida, Collins was all about the arts from day one. “I got started in music because I was an actress when I was younger,” began the singer. “When I was nine, I had got this audition and they told me I needed to learn how to play guitar for it. So, that was when I picked up my first guitar ever, and I just kind of just really fell in love with it, and pretty much never put it down.”
She recalls music being a constant in her household. “My dad would play rock music on the way to school,” shared Collins, later adding, “My Nana was playing a lot of country music when I was growing up like Willie Nelson.” Collins drew early inspiration from artists like Stevie Nicks, Guns N’ Roses, Bob Dylan, and even, Brooks & Dunn. She was inspired by the way artists like Dylan crafted a song.
“The second I picked up a guitar, I think everything kind of clicked for me […] As soon as I started to figure out how to put chords together, I started to write my own songs,” shared Collins. “My life started really focusing and revolving around music soon after that.”
The Turning Point:
Fresh out of high school, Collins started making trips to music city.“I started traveling to Nashville probably when I was around 18 and just kind of started meeting people and writing with people around here,” shared the singer-songwriter.
During one of those writes, Collins’ career began to blossom unexpectedly. “I was writing at a publishing company with a friend of mine and I played them a song that I wrote and the publisher happened to be walking by and overheard the song. I was offered a publishing deal there.” After she landed her publishing deal, the songstress continued to make connections and friends in the Nashville music scene.
“People have been really, really open to me and my music. I’m really proud to be a woman in music, that’s for sure,” shared Collins. Eventually, her hardwork paid off, and she landed a place on Sony Music Nashville’s artist roster.
Today:
With just two songs released under her label, Collins is already proving to be a star in the making. Her first release, “Heavenly” showcased her stellar songwriting and vocal ability. “Everyone has had a relationship like at the beginning of the song that really brings out the worst in you, and “Heavenly” is something that I have been wanting and really wanting at that time in my life,” shared the singer when asked about her debut song.
She later added, “I just really fell in love with that song, that day. […] It really just felt like what I wanted to step out into the world with as my debut. It really sounded like me.”
Her second song, “Tattoos,” which was released on just this Friday (4/1), is just as emotive and personal as her first song. Inspired by bittersweet memories, Collins continues to prove her artistry on this incredible new song. “Tattoos is something that I really relate to. It’s about loving somebody and not having them be a part of your life anymore, but still being stuck with all the memories you made with them,” she shared. “It’s a song that really means a lot to me and it’s really close to my heart.”

The nostalgic song captures youth, young love, and a last-taste of summer vibe perfectly. It marks the fifth top single from the sophomore record, including, “Kinfolks” and “Breaking Up Was Easy in the 90s.” “23” is definitely a fan-favorite from the record, and it shows.

Adam Doleac is back with a new song “Don’t It Sound Alright”. This follows his latest single released earlier this year “Drinkin’ It Wrong”, and others like “Somewhere Cool With You”, “Coulda Loved You Longer”, and “Another”. In a post upon the release of “Don’t It Sound Alright”, the artist shared that this song “is a big warm musical hug from me. It puts my soul at ease, and I hope it does the same for you every time you hear it. Over the past couple of years, I’ve learned a lot about what really matters. I think we all have. This song is about getting back to that. And don’t that sound alright…”
Written by Doleac, Josh Jenkins, and Chris La Corte, “Don’t It Sound Alright” reflects on some of the most important life lessons we learned when our world was forced to slow down to the ‘speed of the current’. The line “life ain’t supposed to feel like a hamster wheel, but it does sometimes” is incredibly eye-opening because for a while there, our world became so fast and on-the-go that it was almost hard to remember that that wasn’t how it needed to be. That’s something that many were forced to learn when we had no choice but to slow down and enjoy a lot of what we had been missing out on like the little things and special time spent with the ones we’re closest to.

Newly signed Big Loud Records artist, Ashley Cooke adds Brett Young on the new rendition of her song “Never Til Now”, out now April 1st. Listen to the brand new track below.
In a week of several major announcements for rising star, Ashley Cooke, a collab with Brett Young is only a piece in the puzzle for all of the exciting things happening for the artist right now. Just after she left our Babes, Booze, and Brunch event in NYC on March 20th, Cooke started teasing major news that was coming her way in the next couple of weeks.
First, and perhaps the biggest of the slew of announcements, was the news that Cooke signed her first deal to Big Loud Records / Back Blocks Music, making this new release her first as a signed artist. Prior to this deal, Cooke had reached major success as an independent artist, gaining over 30 million streams and reaching a TikTok following of 900K+. Another announcement Cooke was able to share with fans this week is that she will be joining Jordan Davis on tour beginning in April after she wraps up her run on Cole Swindell’s ‘Down To The Bar Tour’.
On top of all of this, Cooke also revealed that Brett Young would be joining her for a duet on a new rendition of her song “Never Til Now”, written by Cooke and Matt Roy. The original release of “Never Til Now” is part of Cooke’s debut EP, Already Drank That Beer – Side A, released in August of 2021. The song went viral on TikTok and digital streaming platforms, gaining over 46K user-generated videos and over 15 million streams. Therefore, it was only right that Cooke and Young announced their version of the song on TikTok this past Sunday, where they also gave fans a little taste of the new track.
The combination of these two artists’ incredible vocals brings the song to an entirely new level. To one where two people’s lives changed in the same way on a night they just so happened to walk into the same bar and prove each other wrong about a kind of love they never thought was possible. This song is about falling in love when you least expect it, and the story is made even more special when two people who were in the same place in life find each other and change everything about what you thought you wanted.

The new track, “Tattoos” is melancholy and emotive. Written about a painful time in life, Collins taps into a whole new level of emotions on her second release. “Tattoos” expresses the permanency and the pain we all feel following a break-up and a great loss. The song is poetic, thought-provoking, and riveting, all adjectives we would also use to describe Collins and her talent.

For Thomas Rhett, Where We Started, out today, April 1, is the follow up to 2021’s Country Again: Side A. Yet, despite what one would think, Rhett promises that this new collection isn’t Side B. Ahead of the release, we chatted with Rhett to learn about what to expect from the project. Check out 5 things he shared here.
After writing somewhere between 150 to 200 songs in the last few years, the singer admits that things didn’t go quite as he had originally intended when it came to his new release. Rhett recalls that after going into the studio with Jon Bellion, Jesse Frasure, and Ashley Gorley, things changed as they wrote the title track. “It kinda started becoming a different project,” he admitted in a recent interview. “It started becoming not what I thought Country Again: Side B…not what I wanted it to be.”
Instead, he says, the album became a versatile collection with something for every listener, every mood, and every feeling. There are funky up-tempos, dreamy love songs, and unexpected collaborations. One of those collaborations is with Katy Perry on the LP’s title track, which serves as the album’s closing moment. The beat-laden song is perfect for a pop crossover, as the starry-eyed lovers trade verses about the early days of a relationship at its crossroads.
“Those days when you’re brokenhearted // And you get knocked down and you say you don’t know // How far we’re going to go // Just look at that road // And think about where we started // Keep your eyes on me // ‘Cause talk is cheap // We’re all we need // Darling I know // How far we’re gonna go // Just look about that road // And think about where we started.”
Other collaborations include “Half of Me” with Riley Green, and the previously-released “Death Row,” featuring Tyler Hubbard and Russell Dickerson. The latter was inspired by the trio’s visit to a men’s prison, where they played songs for prisoners on death row. Written by Rhett, Zach Crowell, and Ashley Gorley, the song deals with the trio reflecting on their perspective-altering visit, remarking “I learned a lot about living // From those men out on death row.”
Meanwhile, “Half of Me” is easily one of the collection’s purest country tracks, a simple ode to wanting a cold beer that has hints of early Joe Nichols or Blake Shelton. Of his decision to enlist Green, Rhett admits that the pair have become great friends, and that “he was the perfect dude for the song.” Rhett first began teasing the song out on tour last summer, watch a video below of an early performance of the song.
The album’s opener is the introspective “The Hill,” interestingly the only song on Where We Started that wasn’t co-penned by Rhett. Written by Lori McKenna, Jordan Reynolds, and Emily Weisband, it deals with the proverbial hill that we sometimes choose to die on. Rhett has conviction here, and although he can be stubborn sometimes, he realizes what’s important and that’s the love of his wife. “Not every battle’s worth it // I’ll admit where I’ve gone wrong,” He sings. “But fighting for your love // That’s the hill I want to die on.”
Rhett celebrates the simpler things in life on songs like “Bass Pro Hat,” “Anything Cold,” “Paradise,” and “Slow Down Summer.” “Anything Cold” is the perfect track for hitting the beach this summer, as Rhett doesn’t care what he’s drinking as long as it’s cold with alcohol. Meanwhile, “Slow Down Summer” is an appreciation for summer love and the desire to hold on to it for as long as possible.
“Church Boots” has hints of “Fancy Like” that make it ripe for a TikTok dance, and a perfect earworm for radio. The click-clack of a track celebrates a pair of boots that are perfect for any occasion. More than just simple footwear, these boots are truly a part of his story. “They’re all scuffed up just like me // Tell a little story ‘bout my history,” he sings. “Go straight from the farm to the bar to the back row pew // Yeah my work boots // Are my church boots.”
On songs like “Angels,” “Paradise,” “Simple as a Song,” and “Mama’s Front Door,” Rhett celebrates the special love he shares with his wife, Lauren. On “Paradise,” he recalls that being with her is equivalent to paradise, while “Mama’s Front Door” talks about all of the pivotal moments in a relationship that have happened on her mama’s porch.
Meanwhile, when it comes to ballads, “Angels” is a clear highlight of the album, building through the powerful chorus as Rhett recalls all the mistakes he’s made, wondering how an angel of a woman stayed by his side. “You shoulda slammed the door // Changed the lock //And said, adios to my selfish heart // Tore it apart and left me alone // Don’t know why you were patient // And wasted good savin’ on me // Maybe angels don’t always have wings.” Check out the video below of Rhett performing the swoon-worthy track.
For Thomas Rhett, Where We Started may not have been the album he originally intended to make, but perhaps, turned out the way it was always meant to.
