Filmore’s new track, “Girl Back” is out now, March 18th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.
“Girl Back” is the third release in three weeks for Filmore, following “Leave Me A Memory” and “Johnny Got A Girl.” The song separates from the previous two with its upbeat R&B pop style that takes on a different vibe from the others.
“Girl Back” is about all the memories from your hometown that are attached to places that may not even be there anymore. Even more specifically, they’re with the person you’re no longer with. Everything about that town could change but the one thing that still wouldn’t, is all the memories you two shared in it. Realizing those memories don’t mean anything without the girl, Filmore offers a deal to his hometown, saying it can keep all their memories, just give him the girl back.
“That bar can keep our first kiss // That tree can keep our rope swing // The wall we carved our names in, Summer 2013 // That truck can keep our good years // Those memories they can stay right there // Tell this small town to keep everything we had // Just give me the girl back”
“Girl Back” was written by Filmore, Sam Bergeson, Cale Dodds, and Dan Pellarin; and produced by Zach Abend and Sam Bergeson.
