Miranda Lambert along with Jack Ingram and Jon Randall just released a new song as part of their forthcoming collaboration project, ‘The Marfa Tapes’. “Anchor” is available now, April 16th, on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the track.
County music superstar Miranda Lambert has joined forces with fellow musicians, Jack Ingram and Jon Randall on a brand new record entitled THE MARFA TAPES, slated to come out on May 7th. The record is a culmination of intimate songs that the threesome wrote and recorded together in the tiny town of Marfa, Texas. This week, the singer-songwriters release another track off the record, a song called “Anchor.”
Similar to the previous releases, “Anchor” is a swoon-worthy song that is all about the vocals and the lyrics. With just an acoustic guitar, the trio harmonizes about love in the spectacular tune. Ingram takes the lead on this song, singing all the verses off the track in a way that is both inviting and intimate. Lambert humbly takes a back seat and can be heard softly harmonizing during the chorus.
“Be my anchor // Come and save me // Come and take me // To the other side”
So far, the trio has released songs that showcase all sides of each of their unique talents. “Anchor,” “Tin Man” (Re-release” and “In His Arms,” and “Am I right or Amarillo” are incredible sneak peeks of the upcoming record. Tim McGraw just released two digital deluxe versions of his #1 album Here on Earth (Ultimate Edition) and Here on Earth (Video Edition), both available today, Friday, April 16th. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.
Tim McGraw’s Here On Earth (Ultimate Edition) is out now, April 16th
McGraw surprised fans with the announcement of these two deluxe albums and the release of his new single, “God Moves the Pen”, only days before the albums dropped, hardly making country music lovers wait until they had new music and videos from the three-time GRAMMY winner.
The extended album, out today, includes 30 tracks total, 16 of which are the original tracklist off the #1 album, which includes songs like “I Called Mama” and the title track. The next 8 songs are a mix of previously released songs from McGraw including, “Undivided” with Tyler Hubbard, “Neon Church”, “Thought About You”, and his latest single “God Moves the Pen”. As well as new songs like fan favorite, “Cuttin’ Onions”, “Truth Is”, and two bonus movie tracks: “Keep Your Eyes on Me” with Faith Hill from the 2017 film The Shack and “Gravity” from the 2018 documentary Free Solo. The final six tracks are video versions of “Here on Earth”, “I Called Mama”, “Gravy”, “Undivided”, “Thought About You”, and “Neon Church”. McGraw had already released a lyric video for each of the 16 songs on the original version of the album.
This massive collection of songs marks its own era of music from McGraw which is what made him want them all to be included together in its own project. He shared that “Neon Church” started a new chapter, and he wanted to make sure it was included in the full story of Here on Earth.
Earlier this week, McGraw spoke on his connection to one of the new songs off the record “Cuttin’ Onions”, a song written by brothers Brad Warren and Brett Warren with Monty Criswell. McGraw shared: “Cuttin’ Onions…hit me pretty close to home, growing up. It reminded me a lot of my childhood and the way I grew up in some certain circumstances. So it just put me right into the position of those memories and that life that I had growing up that wasn’t the best sometimes. So that’s what it did to me… I can visually picture it. I mean I could picture the house. I could picture the windows open and the curtains blowing out of the windows. I could picture all of it happening. It was just to me, it was just so vivid. For one thing, there was some inner emotional connection that I had to it with my life but also, it was just so visceral and visual to me that I couldn’t, I just couldn’t get it out of my head.” See the behind the scenes clip and interview here.

Another brand new song off the album, “Truth Is” is about not wanting to face the truth about a relationship that’s come to an end so you just avoid seeing the people that are going to make you talk about it. Similar to other heartbreak songs off the album like “7500 OBO”, “Not From California”, and “If I Was a Cowboy”, “Truth Is” is about doing what you can to forget what was or what could have been and struggling to face what you’re going through.
“I don’t wanna go, where everybody knows your name // So I just stay at home, many more these days // ‘Cause every time I leave the house I hear somebody asking about you and I just can’t bring myself to tell the truth about it so I tell a lie // Say you’re doing pretty good and things are going like they should and when I get back home tonight I’m gonna tell you that they sad to tell you ‘hi’”
“Keep Your Eyes on Me” and “Gravity” are both songs that McGraw co-wrote. “Keep Your Eyes on Me” is the first song he and Faith Hill wrote together with Lori McKenna, which McGraw and Hill performed together in the 2017 film The Shack, which McGraw also starred in. The superstar shared that “Gravity” was the third song he’d ever written for a film, also with Lori McKenna, and that he knew he wanted it to be included on a project down the line. If you’ve ever seen Free Solo or know the incredible story of Alex Holland, then you know the immense weight this song holds in being the one that closes out the film.

On June 12th, there will be a special edition 12” vinyl available for Record Store Day that will have “Undivided”, on one side, and an acoustic version of “I Called Mama” on the other. These two songs are incredible representatives of not only McGraw’s current career but of how he is releasing important music at an essential time.
“Undivided” was released at a crucial moment for our country, and just in time for the Presidential Inauguration in January where McGraw and Hubbard performed the song live for the first time together. They have also released a director’s cut version of the song’s music video since then. “I Called Mama”, now out for almost a year, continues to act as a reminder of the importance of home and human connection even in the toughest of times.

Brothers Osborne just released a touching new song, “Younger Me”, written by TJ in response to the overwhelming support he received after sharing his personal story. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the track.
It’s a big week for Brothers Osborne and country music fans! The platinum-selling duo first made news yesterday with the announcement of their 2021 headlining tour, ‘We’re Not For Everyone Tour’. Support acts, Tenille Townes and Travis Denning will join the show, which kicks off on July 29th in Philadelphia, and makes their way to the New York Area on August 21st and October 28th. Additionally, today Brothers Osborne released a powerful new song, “Younger Me”.
Inspired by the overwhelming support that TJ Osborne received after sharing his personal story with his sexuality earlier this year, “Younger Me” is a special song created by the real-life brothers. A solo write by TJ, the song is an anthem for anyone who is struggling with their identity in any capacity. Although for TJ the song is about his coming out as a gay man, it is a track for anyone who has struggled with self-acceptance.

A truly poignant song, the lyric that states “always dreamed of kicking down the door // what were you waiting for,” is especially telling. Furthermore, the singers go on to thank their younger selves for getting them where they are today.
Brothers Osborne will be performing a special version of “Younger Me” on Sunday as part of Xfinity’s special performances for The ACM Awards.

Eric Church’s first of three new albums, ‘Heart’ available everywhere now, April 16th
There are few artists as unique and innovative as Eric Church. Determined to bend the conventions of the music industry, Church continues down that path with the first release of his three-part collection, Heart & Soul. Heart is out today (April 16), followed by ‘&’ on April 20 (released exclusively on vinyl to members of his fan club, The Church Choir), and Soul on April 23. Each part of the collection was born during Church’s month-long retreat to the mountains of North Carolina, where he collaborated with famed producer Jay Joyce on 24 new explosive and introspective tracks, each with a unique sound and story.
The album opens with “Heart On Fire,” and it’s immediately apparent that Church is back and better than ever, ready to do something different on this record. One of the highlights of many of Church’s recent releases has been the use of a female background vocalist, and this is on full display here, as is a mean guitar solo that begins around the 2:25 mark.
“Heart of the Night” tells the tale of escaping a suffocating life, and the staccato delivery of “Let’s point this thing west //into the chest // of the still-beating heart of the night” is one of our favorite things we’ve heard in a long time. The bridge takes on a life of its own as it completely changes melodically, venturing into almost Broadway-esque territory, and it’s clear we’re witnessing something special on this album.
“Russian Roulette” is a clever take on that moment when a song can literally cripple you. Church assures us that he’s doing okay, but he needs to avoid those songs that will strike him like a bullet, “messing up my head, playing Russian Roulette with the radio.” This is such a relatable topic that those who know and love music can most certainly relate to, as everyone has a song, or songs, that can bring you to your knees. “I need a melody without a memory,” He pleads. “Take me where I’ve never been // I hear ‘em gunnin’ for me // I feel ‘em huntin’ for me // But I ain’t tunin’ them in.”
Church also continues to celebrate humanity in different ways on “People Break” and “Never Break Heart.” The first is a slow homage to heartbreak. “People break, people try // Things happen people cry // Someone leaves, love dies,” Church sings over the melancholy music. “Someone changes their mind // Baby I get it I really do // But now I gotta go and do the hardest part // Break the news to a broken heart.”
As usual, Church isn’t one to stay quiet when it comes to the realness of life, tackling some of life’s toughest topics on “Stick That In Your Country Song”, which is interestingly the only song on this collection that he didn’t co-write. Profiled on the cover of Billboard for encouraging fans to receive the COVID vaccine, Church is open to singing and talking about everything.
The album goes out with a bang, just as it began. “Bunch of Nothing” shows a different side of Church, a more twangy up-tempo than we’re used to from the Chief, lending itself midway through to a hand-clapping musical interlude that is sure to have you bopping along.
The final song on Heart is “Love Shine Down,” a track that builds from a sparse slow tempo to a full-out Gospel-inspired jam. Here, Church gives a nod to one of his earliest hits, “Sinners Like Me,” as he sings, “It’s cold and it’s dark in this sinner’s heart // Lady let your love shine down.”
Eric Church’s Heart is a unique and genre-bending release, showing different sides of Church, and if it’s any indication of what’s to come, we can’t wait for the next two releases from Heart & Soul.

Thomas Rhett has been such a gift to all of us country music lovers all quarantine long. He continues to keep fans on their toes, as he gears up to release his fifth studio album COUNTRY AGAIN: SIDE A on April 30th. The record marks the first LP of the double project. Today, Rhett released the title track record off Side A, and fans are already in love with it.
Written by Rhett with prolific songwriters, Zach Crowell and Ashley Gorley, “Country Again” is a return to home for the singer. The song relinquishes all the glitz and the glamour and production of the singer’s last couple of records. Instead, Rhett returns to his roots, relying on story-telling, simple production, and heartfelt lyrics to be center stage.
“I’ve been counting down the days to get this one out to y’all. It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve written yet and honestly just feels full circle in so many ways,” shared Rhett in a recent press release. He later adds that the song is “about the crazy journey I’ve been on over the last decade and ultimately finding my way back home.”
“Country Again” feels similar to old school Rhett vibes, as well as, similar to heartfelt songs like “Dream You Never Had.” We personally love everything the singer creates, but we especially love when he talks openly with fans about his life and his experiences through song.

Nearly ten weeks after leaving the spotlight due to racial slurs controversy, Morgan Wallen took to social media today, April 13th, to release a personal letter to his fans.
Morgan Wallen has had a tumultuous year. He released his record Dangerous: The Double Album early this year, but unfortunately was dropped from radio and suspended by his label over the use of a racial slur, which was captured on video. Despite that, his record spent ten consecutive weeks at the top of the all-genre charts, shattering previous records for country artists.
Today, Wallen broke his silence, sharing a handwritten four-page letter to fans on his social media platforms. The singer-songwriter thanked fans for their dedication and their love, sharing “I’m so aware that it was you all who have bought it and played it as much as you have so I truly feel I share this honor with you.”
Despite being appreciative of his fans, Wallen shared that he still has some learning and growing to do. He declared that he will not be performing at any festivals or tours this summer. He still encourages fans to support country music and go to all these shows.
Ending the letter, Wallen shares an uplifting sentiment, “My story is far from over and getting back out to see ya’ll is all I can think about. So just know you’ll be seeing me sooner than later.”

Keith Urban has a major presence on Taylor Swift’s re-recorded album, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), and for good reason.Urban is featured on “That’s When (From the Vault)” and can be heard harmonizing on the previous track “We Were Happy (From the Vault)”. As if two doses of their beautifully blended voices weren’t enough, the superstars also shared their love for each other and these collaborations on their socials.
In her Instagram post last week (seen above) that previewed the album’s track-list, Swift made sure to highlight her appreciation for Urban’s music, his long-time support of her, and his involvement in the new project. She shared, “I’m really honored that @KeithUrban is a part of this project, duetting on That’s When and singing harmonies on We Were Happy. I was his opening act during the Fearless album era and his music has inspired me endlessly.”
As the album was officially released on Friday, April 9th, Urban shared a throwback (seen above) of the two on stage together, adding “I hadn’t heard our voice together since sitting in with you on the 1989 tour in Toronto !!! Magic, Congrats TS – you’ve got some gems in that vault !!!! Thanks for having me join you on a couple of them.”
Swift and Urban harmonize effortlessly in their duet “That’s When”, a song about post-breakup sadness and just wanting to be back with that person. After breaking up and missing each other, they are both asking when the other one will take them back. They both know they were in the wrong when they ended things, but are on the same page when it comes to wanting to be back together. When they wake up in the morning, when it’s sunny or storming, when they’re laughing or crying, that’s when they miss each other and that’s also when they’d take the other one back. They never stopped missing one another and there’s no time that they wouldn’t take the other one back.

Even though it ended a while ago, there’s nothing bad to say about it, just that they were truly happy together for a while.

Tim McGraw just released a brand new song “God Moves The Pen” along with an exciting announcement. The three-time GRAMMY winner revealed two forthcoming digital deluxe versions of his #1 album Here on Earth Ultimate Edition and Here on Earth Video Edition, both will be available Friday, April 16th.
The deluxe editions project will include McGraw’s duet with Tyler Hubbard, “Undivided”, as well as two bonus movie tracks – “Keep Your Eyes on Me” (McGraw, Faith Hill, Lori McKenna, Shane McAnally) with Faith Hill from the 2017 film The Shack and “Gravity” (McGraw, McKenna) from the Academy Award-winning Documentary Free Solo. The Ultimate Video Editionwill include all of the same tracks as the Ultimate Edition, adding videos for six songs: “Here on Earth,” ”I Called Mama”, “Gravy,” “Undivided,” “Thought About You,” and “Neon Church.”
McGraw received extraordinary success on the original Here on Earth album, warranting him these multiple extended versions. When his 16th studio album went #1 on the Billboard Country album chart, it marked McGraw’s fourth straight decade with a #1 album. It was his 19th worldwide #1 and 17th in the US, which tied him for second-most #1 albums in the US, second only to George Strait.
“God Moves The Pen”, released ahead of the deluxe editions, shares the message that when it comes to love, God can help the heart say what the mouth sometimes can’t. Declarations of love like Shakespeare’s writing or Hank Williams guitar playing are their own forms of love letters and there is no such gesture that is too big or too small whether it be a post-it on a fridge or a tattoo on the skin.
McGraw even includes his favorite love letter, “Red lipstick on a bathroom mirror”, which is how he and Faith Hill got engaged back in 1996. McGraw finally popped the question one night before going on stage after a while of joking with Hill about getting married. She didn’t think he was serious that time since they were in a trailer in the middle of a festival on a rainy night, but he said this time he was. When he returned from his performance, Hill had written “Yes, I’m going to be your wife. I love you” in Sharpie on the portable mirror in his dressing room and sealed it with a lipstick kiss. McGraw still has the mirror today. Hill even repeated the gesture on their 20th wedding anniversary (seen here). Safe to say, the two know the power of a good love letter.

Walker Hayes just released his latest single, “Make You Cry”, available now, April 9th, everywhere you buy or stream music. Coming off his latest single, “Hope You Miss Me”, a tribute song to his daughter, “Make You Cry” is a love song to his wife. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the track.
Walker Hayes has one of the most unique sounds and story-telling capabilities in country music. The way his songs reel you in forces you to pay attention to each and every lyric. Take for example, “Don’t Let Her”. This is a song that you can’t help but be happy about because it shows how immensely he loves his wife down to all the little details he shares about who she is and what she likes, even though it’s all in the event that something were to happen to him and her not wanting to move on to someone else.
“Craig” is another song that tells you so much about Hayes and his family in just three minutes. A song so essential to Hayes’ story, he named his charitable foundation “Be A Craig”, after the man who gave him and his family a car big enough for all of the kids to be buckled in when the singer-songwriter was struggling to make ends meet, raise a family, and chase a dream.
These songs and so many others are a testament to Hayes’ incredible songwriting ability. While they may not always have such a powerful message, his style remains true to his music, in each and every track, and how he writes and develops each of his songs.
Just like he always does, Hayes uses his witty play on words to make us think his song is about something completely different, similar to his most recent singles “I Hope You Miss Me”, “Trash My Heart” , and “Shut Up Kenny”. In “Make You Cry”, Hayes tells us about all the ways he loves to make the one he loves cry happy tears. Just like he did when he’d play guitar for her at 16, or when he proposed to her at 23, making her cry happy tears is one of his favorite things to do. He can’t get over how much he loves seeing her eyes fill with tears, because that’s when he knows he’s doing something right.

Brian Kelley, who serves as one half of the GRAMMY-nominated duo, Florida Georgia Line, makes his solo debut with brand new EP, BK’s Wave Pack available everywhere today, April 13th. Listen to the 4-track collection and take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.
Kelley and bandmate Tyler Hubbard shocked the country world when they announced the two of them will be focusing more on their solo careers going forward after the release of their latest album, Life Rolls On. Although we are unsure when or if there will be new Florida Georgia Line music in the future, we know that Kelley’s solo career with Warner Music Nashville is just beginning to take off.
“I couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who has helped me on my journey to get here. I’m humbled to team up with Warner Music Nashville to take the music I’ve been dreamin’ and schemin’ up to the next level,” Kelley shared in a recent press release. “This is just the beginning of a whole new adventure.”
Fans can sense the entire vibe of this album just by reading the names of the songs. During the pandemic, Kelley spent a lot of time writing and being inspired at the beach. The lead track is a mid-tempo, pop-country crossover that immediately sets the mood. Kelley puts the listener in a tropical paradise, declaring himself the “Beach Cowboy” that “goes John Wayne on these waves.” The following song, “Made By The Water,” is reminiscent of classic Kenny Chesney/Jake Owen, as he portrays a perfect day at the beach.
“Soul of a sailor, born for a boat // My tie-dye girl got their heart floating // The way that it’s going I know when the sun sinks down like a bobber // there’s going to be some love made by the water”
Kelley turns the relaxation up with the next track, “Party on the Beach.” With the sounds from a traditional Hawaiian luau and a screeching seagull, he puts listeners’ minds into vacation mode. In the final track, “Sunday Service In The Sand,” the singer-songwriter shows gratitude for island life by thanking God for his beach-chair blessings. He admits that heaven could not get much closer than this.
“I can feel the salt-water working // High-tide’s taking me to church and // I can’t help but raise my hands to another Sunday service in the sand”
Although the two shared writing and producing credits, Hubbard was the predominant voice on most FGL songs, especially on their last two albums. It was nice to see Kelley venture out and sing along with his voice for a change. We are hopeful to see a full project album from Kelley in the future.
