Conner Smith Makes Artist Debut with Two New Songs

Newcomer, Conner Smith, introduces himself as an artist with two brand songs, “Learn From It” and “Tennessee”. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.

We love supporting rising talent in the country music industry and Valory Music Co’s latest signee, Conner Smith is an artist that fits the bill! His musical talent compares well alongside acts like Sam Hunt, Tyler Rich, and Kip Moore. Today, the singer releases two brand new songs simply titled “Learned From It” and “Tennessee.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to finally get some music in y’alls hands. Long time coming and now it all begins,” shared an excited Smith on his Instagram a few days ago. Both new songs feel familiar, yet innovative. “Learned From It” is slightly more uptempo. The track takes us along all of the mistakes and experiences we all go through as we grow up. Ultimately, the singer relies on the adage that we all learn from those things. The song allows us as listeners to learn more about the artist and his story.

“Yeah I learned from em // Yeah we learned from it, all of em days, when we were young and wild // Yeah we turned up that little town on all those Friday nights // Cause growing up with nothing to do makes you play with fire a little // You get burned from em // but yeah we learned from em”

“Tennessee” shows the softer, more romantic side of the singer. As Smith shared with fans on his social media the new song is all about “taking a girl back to her roots.” The song feels reminiscent of songs like “More Than My Hometown” by Morgan Wallen, a clear influence in the newcomer’s artistry. On the new track, Smith sings about wanting to know everything about his love interest, especially about where she grew up and the small town that made her who she is.

“I just want to get you // Sitting by the river // Sippin’ on some strawberry shine // Yeah I just want to know you like your hometown knows you // Who you were before you were mine”

Connor Smith’s new songs were the perfect release to introduce himself. Fans get to see multiple sides to the singer’s artistry and personality. We’re excited to see what’s next for the talented artist.

Shy Carter Teams with Cole Swindell and David Lee Murphy on New Song

Shy Carter’s new song “Beer With My Friends” with Cole Swindell and David Lee Murphy is available now, June 18th, on all streaming platforms. Check out the track below as we dig a little deeper into the new song.

Shy Carter, Cole Swindell, and David Lee Murphy are ready for summer with new song “Beer With My Friends”.

The upbeat track starts out with Shy Carter telling David Lee Murphy to ‘hit it’, followed by an electric guitar and the three singers joining in together right away for part of the chorus. Carter then sings solo for the first verse with Murphy and Cole Swindell joining in to harmonize. Murphy handles the second verse followed by Cole Swindell on the third verse. This may not have been a trio you were picturing collaborating on a song, but they are the perfect mix. Their voices blend well together, and you can certainly tell they had a great time recording this track.

“Right now I really need a beer with my friends // Pop a top and talk about it way back when // It’s been too long // No matter how long it’s been // Right now, I really need a beer with my friends”

With restrictions loosening and places continuing to open up, this summer should be all about reuniting with the friends we haven’t seen in months and that’s what “Beer With My Friends” is all about. No matter how long it’s been since you’ve seen each other, when you get together it’s like no time has passed. They are the people you can rely on cheering you up when you’re down, the people you celebrate the good news with, and of course the people you enjoy a drink with!

The trio shared that they were teaming up earlier this week on social media. They shared a picture of the three of them with the caption, “We got something BIG comin’ up for y’all.” Followed by the cover art and a sample of the track a couple of days later. This is a friendship we didn’t know we needed but love seeing! Add the brand new song to your playlist and bump it all summer long.

Drew Baldridge’s New Song “Stay at Home Dad” Celebrates Fatherhood

Drew Baldridge’s new song “Stay At Home Dad” is available now, June 18th, on all streaming platforms. Check out the track below as we dig a little deeper into the new song.

A dad is a daughter’s first love and a son’s first best friend. They are the person who teaches you how to ride a bike, they’re there when you catch your first fish, and the person you can always rely on to play catch. They are also the ones who bend over backwards for their family, no questions asked. Even when sometimes that means saying no to staying home and enjoying those special moments, but we know how much they love us even when they have to leave for work or go do the things they have to do to provide for their family.

Written by Baldridge with Tyler Chambers, Dylan Marlowe, and Nick Schwarz, “Stay At Home Dad” uses clever wordplay to celebrate fatherhood and reminisces of all of those moments where we just wanted our father figure to stay at home with us. The track reminds us all that dads are truly superheroes.

“Stay at home dad // Don’t ya wanna go fishin’ // Throw the ball out in the back // If you do I’ll do the dishes // Me and mamma will miss you bad // I’ll be the man til you get back // If it ain’t too much to ask, stay at home dad”

The ballad shows the incredible range of vocals and talent the Illinois native has. He continues to show us how much the people in his life mean to him with each new release as he shares genuine memories of the people he loves.

Baldridge first surprised fans with the track on TikTok in January where he shared a sweet video of previewing the song with his dad on his birthday. TikTok has become a popular platform for Baldridge as he has been sharing his new tracks asking his fans if he should release them, including the song, “She’s Somebody’s Daughter”¸which his wife and her father danced to at their wedding.  The two married earlier this year.

Blanco Brown Releases New Song “Nobody’s More Country”

Blanco Brown released a brand new song, “Nobody’s More Country” available now, June 18th, on all streaming platforms. Check out the brand new track below.

Finally, Blanco Brown returns with another incredible creation. After a scary accident in 2020, the singer-songwriter is back with a restored lease on life. His brand new song “Nobody’s More Country” is everything we hoped it would be.

The new song is a certified bop. It is catchy, effortless, and unifying, all mixed together. Written by Brown with Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, Jordan Schmidt, and Quintin Amey, “Nobody’s More Country” is a song that showcases the singer’s Georgia roots, groovy beats, and his vast life experience. On the track, Brown shares everything he loves about his home state. He also mentions places that country music has allowed him to travel to. Ultimately, he comes to the conclusion that there is “no place like home.”

“I’ve been back and forth from here to Georgia // Carolina to California // Across the hills of middle Tennessee // I’ve been mountain high in Colorado // Seen some things but one thing I know // No one loves the country more than me”

“I’ve been all around the world and have seen people of all ages, nationalities, and backgrounds uniting over their love of Country music—the music ties us together,” shared Brown in a recent press release. “It’s the sound of home, it’s the sound of my Georgia heart. It’s hard to imagine anybody loving it more than me.”

We could not agree more! We’re happy to see Brown blazing the trail for equality, acceptance, and love in country music. It doesn’t hurt that the new song is so fun too.

Brantley Gilbert, Toby Keith, HARDY: “The Worst Country Song Of All Time”

Brantley Gilbert joins forces with Toby Keith and HARDY on “The Worst Country Song Of All Time,” available now, June 18th, on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.

There are few things better than a star-studded collaboration in country music. Social media blew up when fans found out that Brantley Gilbert was going to join forces with the legendary Toby Keith and one of our favorite rising stars, HARDY. The three extremely talented men officially dropped a song today that they never thought they actually would. “The Worst Country Song Of All Time” is officially out.

The idea all started when HARDY threw out the title at a write with co-writers Gilbert, Hunter Phelps, and Will Weatherly. Although all the men took it as a joke, they started throwing out line after line. Eventually, a song formed. “We were listening to the demo after we finished it, and I said to HARDY, “Man, if we get a wild hair and decide we’re actually going to cut this, would you be cool with cutting it with me?,” Gilbert shares of his collaborator in a recent press release. “I’ll never forget, he looked at me and he said, ‘Absolutely.’”

“I hate beer and honky-tonk women // And I don’t eat deer and I can’t stand fishing // I don’t know the words to Family Tradition // Folsom Prison or Walk The Line // And I think sweet tea is overrated // And all dirt roads were made for paving // Yeah this is the worst country song of all time”

Clearly, the men had something, when they received a seal of approval from Toby Keith, who is also featured on the track. “The Worst Country Song Of All Time” is one of those songs that only these trio of guys could actually release. It pokes fun at all the stereotypical ‘country boy’ things and flips it on its head. With some killer one-liners and a catchy beat, the song is a bop for sure!

We hope this collaboration will lead to even more collaboration between the talented men. Until then, make sure you jam to this one!

SmithField: ‘New Town’ – EP Review

SmithField’s new EP, New Town, featuring six new tracks by the duo behind “Hey Whiskey”, is out now, June 16th, on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.

With three years behind them since the release of their hit single, “Hey Whiskey,” country duo SmithField is back with a new EP, New Town, out today, June 16. Made up of six new original tracks, the pair of Jennifer Fielder and Trey Smith are determined to reintroduce country music fans to the female-male country duo. Interestingly, it’s been over a decade since a mixed-gender pair truly broke out in Nashville, but based on the songs on New Town, Smithfield should be the next twosome to do so.

Both Fielder and Smith grew up in Waxahachie, Texas, with grandparents who went to high school together. The pair first met at age ten but took different musical paths until their journeys crossed a decade ago when SmithField was born. Unlike other duos, the pair established a true partnership with neither member serving as the group’s lead singer or songwriter. Instead, they work together, trading harmonies and vocals to tell two unique sides to every story.

For the pair, New Town tells a unique tale of love and relationships. “Each track tells its own story,” says Smith in a statement. “But the entire EP weaves together to form a larger narrative about relationships. It’s all about the ups, the downs, and the persistence needed to fight through whatever comes at you. That’s our story.”

SmithField’s story begins here with the EP’s title track, a dreamy ode to falling in love in your hometown, allowing it to come alive again. Somehow, everything that was once familiar has become new through the lens of falling in love, and it’s a magical experience. “These stomping grounds have come alive,” They harmonize. “Since you and I // Became you and I.”

On “Something Sexy,” the pair does one of our favorite things in music, name-dropping other famous artists and songs as they embrace the rich romantic history of country music. Although the pair may be “too country for some Barry White,” they mention Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Chris Young by name. A few of the other songs they mention include “I Melt,” “Amazed,” “Raining on Sunday,” “Come a Little Closer,” and “Don’t Close Your Eyes,” among other romantic classics.

On “I’ll Never Stop,” the pair puts out the type of sultry anthem they sang about in “Something Sexy.” Although it’s a song about love lost, it stands out with its soulful, bluesy style. “Sometimes I hate // That I can’t let you go // And sometimes I can’t stand the thought // Of losing your memory,” they admit on the show-stopping ballad. “Oh I may be done loving you // But I’ll never stop.”

While “I’ll Never Stop” and “Burning Wings” are songs about love lost, the collection’s closer “We’ll Figure It Out” and “Sunday Best” are more hopeful. On the latter, they celebrate the everyday imperfections of true love. It’s not about putting on a fabricated facade, but embracing those times when your partner is far from perfect.  Meanwhile, on “We’ll Figure It Out,” SmithField muses that “loving is easy, but it’s the living that’s hard.”

SmithField’s New Town EP feels a lot like having a conversation with friends, which according to Fielder, was the goal “We’re big coffee people,” she says. “Whenever we perform a song, it’s like we’re grabbing a cup of coffee together, and the audience gets to be the third person who sits down with us and hears the whole conversation. They get to hear both sides. They get to understand how both parties feel. You don’t get that perspective from a solo artist. We’re opening up our hearts from both sides of the story, and the listener gets to hear our coffee talk.”

On their new EP, SmithField truly embraces every side of relationships, from the beautiful to the messy to the complicated. New Town is honest. It’s real, and it’s musically a truly great story from start to finish.
