Dierks Bentley is a mainstay in country music and a bonafide superstar. Today, marks the release of his tenth studio album, Gravel & Gold, featuring fourteen brand-new songs for fans to fall in love with.
According to Bentley in a recent press release, “It’s been four years since I put out an album, and part of the reason for that is that I wrote and recorded two records that I didn’t feel were good enough and had to start over…twice. I’m going to be able to look back on it for the rest of my life and be like, yeah, that was harder than I thought it would be, but zero regrets. I had to get it right. That’s the Gravel & Gold of it all.”
Each of the fourteen songs depicts a different layer of Bentley’s undeniable talent and charisma. The singer-songwriter also has two features on the project, track number 7 featuring Ashley McBryde, and the final track on the project, “High Note” with Billy Strings.

His stardom continues to rise. Today his touching song, “Thought You Should Know” marks his 8th number-one single at country radio.
Wallen shared clips of “Thought You Should Know” two years ago, as a gift to his mother on Mother’s Day. While 2021 was a tumultuous year for the singer-songwriter, he remained true to his artistry through his songwriting and connection to his fans. The single written by Wallen with Nicolle Galyon and Miranda Lambert is one of his rawest ones to date.

The Beginning:
This week we are highlighting an artist that you may or may not know already, Griffen Palmer. The singer-songwriter made waves on the hit show, Songland and now is a signed artist at Big Loud Records. Learn his story below!
“I grew up in Pickering, Ontario,” begins Palmer. “My dad was always in bands when I was a kid, and he was always super supportive of me learning instruments, and jamming with him, and singing with him and stuff.”
The singer shared that he owes his early love for music to his father, who introduced him to artists like Journey and Def Leppard. “I was always listening to whatever my dad was listening to for the most part which was Top 40s, 80s vibes,” adding later, “It was all about those big, power anthem kind of music when I was really young.” He also recalls his sisters listening to powerful, female country artists like Shania Twain, which was his early introduction to the genre.
However, it was not until later that Palmer began to fall in love with the genre organically. “I got into country music when I was like fourteen or fifteen, in high school, I was a little late to the game, but it’s kind of fun being late to the game, because there’s so much stuff to dive into and discover all on your own.”
Like many artists, Palmer was captivated by the s lyricism in country music. “I think it’s just the storytelling and the songwriting of it that really gets you on the human level. There’s so much country music that’s more than just about where you grew up, it’s really human. […] I was super inspired by it.”
The Turning Point:
Despite a love for music, Palmer went to college in Ohio to play rugby. “I was always in cover bands in high school for fun, but when I moved to Ohio to play Rugby for college, I kind of started using music as a way to pay for my school, so I started booking gigs,” he shared. “By the time I moved to Ohio, it was like the perfect place to be, when you’re playing these shows, every request you get or every person you meet wants to hear country music.”
While college gave him a platform to play music, Palmer still did not have a plan once his visa expired. “I moved home from school when my visa expired […] I was trying to figure out how I could get back to Nashville to really chase this dream of mine, and I met this songwriter named Geoff Warburton at a house party.”
Palmer and Warburton, who penned hits for artists like Shawn Mendes, hit it off instantly, so much so that they began writing together. Warburton even connected Palmer to the Nashville music scene, ultimately helping him to land a publishing deal with Big Loud Records.
“Signing with Big Loud Publishing came at the end of 2018/beginning of 2019, and Songland wasn’t too far after that, maybe a year later, so I was still pretty new to the whole thing. I had just moved to Nashville and was figuring out my crew, and who I like to write with and stuff,” explained the singer.
Shortly after that, Palmer signed his record deal with Big Loud Records too.
Today:
Presently, Palmer is a newcomer in the country music scene, eager to get his music out there and to impress his growing fanbase. “I feel like when you’re an artist whose dreaming of releasing music, your whole dream is to have music out in the world to have people listen to it,” shared the singer.
As a thank you to fans and the perfect song to kick off his artist story, Palmer released the song he shared on Songland called “Second Guessing” as his major-label debut single.
“We kind of just had a sit down as a team and we were kind of just coming across what is the story we’re trying to tell here, what is the story of you and how you got here, and I felt like this song is so important,” he shared. “The initial following of people that started listening to my music was because of that song, and I had so many people every single week from when the show aired to now, people reaching out saying it’s going to be my first dance song or I really wish I had a full version of yours from the show. […] I kept telling people, maybe one day, so it was kind of a no-brainer to dream it up for how we would do it as a first dance song.”
Palmer has much more music coming down the pipeline soon, as well as, his first tour with label-mate, Lily Rose. He is certainly going to be one to look out for!

Parker McCollum shares new song “I Ain’t Going Nowhere” in conjunction with announcing his upcoming album Never Enough. Listen and get all the details here!
Although he seems like a new name to the average country listener, Parker McCollum has been in the industry for almost ten years. After having major success in the Texas-country scene, he broke out into the mainstream with his number-one hit, “Pretty Heart” in 2020. Now, with a major-label album under his belt, McCollum gears up for the next chapter of his musical career.
Written with Lori McKenna, Lee Miller, Jon Randall, and Liz Rose, the new song, “I Ain’t Going Nowhere,” tells the story of a dream-chaser who is beginning to struggle to make the difficult decision between his profession and his wife. As much as he wants to play his music out on the road, he hates leaving his loved one behind. He assures her that she is the only thing he needs in life.
“I don’t wanna have to makе you miss me // So I ain’t goin’ if you ain’t with me // All I need is what I see right here I ain’t goin’ nowhere”
“‘I Ain’t Going Nowhere’ really is kind of a testament to where I’m at in my life right now,” McCollum said in a recent press release. “I’ve spent so much time on the road and touring and living on a tour bus and in a van since I was basically a kid and never thought I would settle down or slow down at all. And not to say I’m really slowing down, but, certainly have settled down and found that person that makes it worth it when you have a place to come home to that is not a tour bus or a highway.”
The new project will feature sixteen tracks including “I Ain’t Going Nowhere” as well as the previous releases, “Stoned” and the current top-ten radio single, “Handle On You.” Never Enough is out on May 12.
McCollum will join Morgan Wallen on his massive ‘One Night At A Time’ World Tour, stopping at some of the largest NFL and MLB stadiums across North America, including two nights at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. For tickets, head to his website.

“This is exactly the record I want to put out,” Jordan Davis says of his new album, Bluebird Days. “I don’t know what’s going to happen with it, but I can at least tell you that the one certainty I do have about this record is I’m proud of it.”
Produced by Paul Giovanni, the follow-up to 2018’s Home State features seventeen new tracks, fifteen of which were co-written by the singer-songwriter. Over the course of the album, Davis explores universal truths from love to love lost, nostalgia to the passage of time, and the hard truths of life to of course, having a beer or two. However, what Davis does better than most is turn these themes into a mix of radio-ready singles, introspective album tracks, and so much more.
For example, the contemplative “Sunday Saints” finds him grappling with his humanity, holding the Bible in one hand and a bottle in the other. The Louisiana native cleverly sneaks in double wordplay and perhaps a nod to the New Orleans Saints throughout the track. Simultaneously, the autobiographical title track has him dealing with his parent’s divorce. Likewise, “Short Fuse” has Davis coming to grips with his anger, while “You’ve Got My Number” finds Davis going through a breakup with someone who knows him all too well. It’s a clever take on the breakup drunk dial song, as he turns the phrase “You’ve got my number” to be both literal and figurative.
The title track is a striking moment of introspection as he mourns the loss of his parent’s marriage and the childhood he became accustomed to.
“They used to be sunshine and roses // Their heads were way over their heels // Said they do then they don’t // Ended up dancing right through a minefield // ‘Cause the truth about living a lie is // That the lie never outlives the truth // Two hearts fell in love and two hearts grew apart // They went their separate ways and our bluebird days went dark”
In a similar vein is “Part of Life,” recorded almost exactly ten years after Davis departed Shreveport, Louisiana for Nashville. The track seems especially poignant as he grapples with the negative, and positive, occurrences that make life what it is.
“You live and learn and good ones go // You find out on down the road // When you lay it all on out and get down to the heart of it // Man that’s just life and that’s all part of it”
Davis is also a romantic throughout Bluebird Days, evidenced on his fifth number-one single, “What My World Spins Around” and the sexy “No Time Soon,” which has him promising a lot of lovin’ when he gets home. Meanwhile, “Midnight Crisis” finds him trading verses with Danielle Bradbery on the stunning ballad between a pair of exes who can’t quite move on.
Two additional standouts are “Next Thing You Know” and “Money Isn’t Real,” both of which have him looking at life through new eyes. On the former, he muses about how life comes at you fast, from meeting someone to getting married to having children, much in a vein similar to Kenny Chesney’s classic “Don’t Blink.”
Meanwhile, on “Money Isn’t Real,” which is one of only two songs not co-penned by Davis, he puts his own spin on the adage that money can’t buy happiness. “A dollar doesn’t make you rich,” He sings, “When it comes to happiness, money isn’t real.”
“Fishing Boat” is a special moment on the LP, a sentimental dedication to his grandfather, who he spent much of his childhood fishing with. “I bought a fishing boat—that was, like, the biggest purchase I’ve made,” Davis says. “It’s very unassuming, it’s nothing special at all. But I fell in love with fishing because of my grandfather. And I remember that first day thinking, ‘This is cool, man—I got this boat, and one day me and my son and my daughter can come fish, and then an overwhelming sadness came over me.”
While there’s a lot of introspection on Bluebird Days, there are moments of fun, evidenced on songs like “One Beer in Front of the Other” and the album’s opening track, “Damn Good Time.”
The album ends with the CMA award-winning, chart-topping Luke Bryan duet, “Buy Dirt,” which put some new pressure on the singer-songwriter. “There’s pressure, definitely,” he says in a statement. “It’s not about trying to recreate ‘Buy Dirt,’ but we can approach songs like we approached that one, and that’s to write something that people are going to feel, and not just hear…So, the best thing for me is that ‘Buy Dirt’ opened up a whole other lane of songs that I think people can really connect with.”
For Jordan Davis, Bluebird Days is an exceptional body of work, elevating him even further as a notch above the genre’s next class of superstars.

Brand new recording artist, Dalton Dover is making his major-label debut this week. Fans fell in love with Dover on the hit show The Voice, and now the singer is beginning a whole new era of his artistry. His debut single, “Giving Up On That” is officially here.
The new song was inspired by Dover’s friend during one of the singer’s first writes in town. Written by the singer with Adam Craig and John Pierce, the track is all about never losing faith in someone you love despite the circumstances.
