The final song of Cole Swindell’s fifth EP Down Home Sessions V is here! The five-track EP has been released differently than ever before by Swindell. Each song was put out individually over the past 5 months leading up to this final song. While he has been playing them on the road this summer, fans did not get to stream them nonstop until this week.
“No One Rocks Mine” paints the picture of Swindell leaving his loved one even though he hates to go. From the lights in Vegas to the Georgia heat, his girl is all he cares about being with.
“I’ve heard the waves hit the West Coast / There ain’t a thing out there that even comes close / I’ve been around this world a time or two / And no one rocks mine like you”
While reminiscing on past memories the song describes the couple having a perfect night, and it is that moment that he will remember why he misses her all the time. “And I’m counting the miles and the places and all them faces till I’m back to you.”
After a crazy summer out on the road, the hit singer has no plans of slowing down. With a few dates left on the Sunrise Sunburn Sunset Repeat Tour and many headlining shows, there is still time to catch Swindell out on the road before the holidays. For his full tour schedule head to www.coleswindell.com/

Up and coming artist, Hunter Phelps has penned hits for artists like Florida Georgia Line’s with “Talk You Out Of It” and I Don’t Know About You,” recorded by Chris Lane. Although he has definitely honed his songwriting skills, Phelps is a passionate artist in his own right. His newest song, “Take Me to Heaven,” which premiered on Friday (10/18) showcases his talents as both a singer and as a songwriter.
The new jam follows his summer hit, “You Don’t Want Me.” Co-written with tour mate, HARDY and Ben Johnson, Phelps sings about being a lost soul that finally found nirvana in a woman. The rising artist usually records songs about heartbreak and breaking up, so it is a nice change to see his more romantic and vulnerable side. There’s something enticing and evocative about a song that stems from a personal place like in “Take Me to Heaven.” The singer does not shy away from alluring lyrics or expressing intimacy in a song.
“I was just a lost soul / Couldn’t find solid ground / Burning up a broken road / No signs of slowing down / I heard angels were here and now I know / Because I saw you and saw streets of gold / Now you’re looking at me like you want to / I know you know the way, so won’t you / Take me to Heaven”
We expect to hear more from Phelps going forward, so country music fans should keep their eye peeled for more from the singer. We recently caught his opening gig at HARDY’s show this weekend, where the two even sang their song “My Kinda Livin’” together to a sold-out crowd. You can check out more awesome moments from the show here.

Droves of fans headed to New York City’s Gramercy Theatre on Friday Night to support singer-songwriter HARDY on his first ever headlining tour, SiriusXM Presents: The Highway Finds Tour. The rising artist brought along his buddy and fellow singer-songwriter, Hunter Phelps and newly signed, Sean Stemaly to perform for the sold-out crowd.
Tasked with warming up the already packed out venue, Stemaly took the stage first. The up and coming artist quickly got the crowd fired up, playing both party songs and creative love songs. His setlist included fan-favorite, “Back on a Backroad” and “Last Night All Day,” a brand new song that was released the same day.
Independent artist and hit songwriter, Hunter Phelps took the stage next. The singer-songwriter played a mix of his own songs and songs he has written for other artists throughout this forty-five-minute set, engaging the audience the whole way through. His set included “You Don’t Want Me,” and his brand new song “Take Me to Heaven,” which he wrote with none other than the headliner, HARDY.
Fans showed their appreciation for each and every one of Phelps’ own songs, but the energy in the room was unparalleled when he sang his hits as a songwriter. Beginning with what he humbly shared as his “first top ten hit,” as a songwriter, the singer showed off his vocals on his acoustic version of Florida Georiga Line’s “Talk You Out of It,” and Chase Rice’s new single “Lonely If You Are,” which Phelps’ penned. Quickly before singing the smash hit, “I Don’t Know About You,” which he penned for Chris Lane, he shared with fans that on his birthday, “We had the number one song in the country for the first time.” Phelps’ exciting set culminated with his break-out song, “Breakup Sex,” which of course fans knew every word to.
When HARDY finally took the stage, the crowd in Manhattan went wild. Fans were ready to sing along to each and every song, chanting ‘HARDY” multiple times throughout the night. The singer exploded on to the stage with upbeat songs “Boy From The South” and “All She Left Was Me.” Afterward, he took a second to humbly introduce himself, even though no introduction was needed. “First of all my name is HARDY. I grew up in a little town called Philadelphia, Mississippi. I moved to Nashville when I was 19 years old. For a long time, I was a songwriter, before I started singing my own songs, I was writing songs for other people,” adding, “I am very blessed to say I am a hit songwriter at this point in my career.”
Sure enough, he went on to sing the number one song, recorded by Blake Shelton, “God’s Country,” transitioning smoothly into another song off arguably one of the best albums of 2019, Hixtape Vol. 1, “Nothing Out Here.” HARDY kept the party going, singing both “Something a Lil’ Stronger” and “He Went to Jared” also off the new record.
Since Hixtape Vol. 1 is all about getting a little help from your friends, HARDY made sure to bring both Stemaly and Phelps back to the stage for some epic duets. Stemaly lent his voice to “Y’all Boys,” a song written by HARDY and cut by the boys of Florida Georgia Line, while Phelps performed two songs with the headliner. Calling Phelps one of his best friends and telling the audience how the two “came up together,” in the industry, HARDY and Phelps are no stranger to collaborations, having penned many songs together, including “My Kinda Livin’,” which they performed, and FGL’s, “Colorado.”
About half-way through the set, HARDY slowed it down a bit, dedicating “Signed Sober You,” off his EP WHERE TO FIND ME, to fans going through a break-up “To anyone who got in a cab and felt lonely, and they got home, and they did not write a note to themselves out of it [contacting an ex]”, leading the whole crowd in a toast. In a rare moment, HARDY showcased his vulnerable side in the exquisite performance of the track.
Throughout the night, fans surprised even HARDY with how well they knew a deep cut of Hixtape, “One Beer.” He performed an acoustic version of the song that originally featured both Lauren Alaina and Devin Dawson, just after “Signed, Sober You.” Fans screamed the song as loud as they could, rendering HARDY speechless, as he pointed the mic towards the audience. It was one of the most raw, impactful, and electrifying moments of the entire impressive set.
HARDY made sure to sing his heartfelt “This Ole Boy” and “I’ll Quit Loving You,” too before accelerating into the metal-inspired tune, “Turn You Down.” Of course, he shouted out his good buddy and fellow country singer, Morgan Wallen on this track, but also when he sang Wallen’s song that he co-wrote, the number one track, “Up Down”. After signing a few more songs like “No Place Like Hometown” and “4X4,” HARDY and his band exited the stage, only to come back with an explosive encore.
“I want to say thank you so much to you guys for coming out, seriously. I want to say this, I put this song out one year ago to the day. This is the only time ever in history that I will ever be able to say that and it’s in New York City at the Gramercy Theatre. So, with that being said, let’s pay homage to that, by singing ‘happy birthday’ figuratively, not literally to the most redneck song ever in county freaking music,” he screamed, before ending the night on a high note with “Rednecker.”
By the time HARDY ended his energetic and dynamic set, it was safe to say that we were in the presence of a superstar in the making. He left each and every fan in awe of his talent, and we cannot wait to see how he continues to evolve as both a songwriter and an artist.

You may have heard the name Thomas Finchum before his debut in country music. As a singer + songwriter he employs a mix of influences and intonations, and his background also infuses a bit of everything.
Before signing with Concord Music in 2016, Finchum grew up divulging in his passion for diving exhausting his days and nights becoming the best. He earned fifth and twelfth place finishes in events at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, a gold medal at the ’07 Pan American Games, and bronze and silver at the ’07 and ’09 World Championships. “When I was on the diving platform there would be people watching and you don’t see any of them,” Finchum says in his bio, “With music, it’s the opposite. You want to connect with every single person. You want them to feel those emotions you’re feeling.”
October 18th, the Olympian alumni turned country mogul released his first self titled EP. It kicks off with “Red, Wild & Blue”. Written by Finchum, Michael Whitworth, and Andy Skib, the track highlights the beauty of America and that everybody is akin, and everybody is the same inside. He sings: “We’re all corner bars with neon signs / Oh, we’re all chasing dreams and getting by wishing on stars / Earning our stripes under the same sky / We’re all red, wild & blue.”
The following song is the singer-songwriter’s first released single “Past The Front Porch” and it’s a love song following a young couple in a relationship that are ready to take it to the next level. Other songs off the self-titled EP include fan favorite, buoyant “If You See Me Drinking,” and “These Hands” which Finchum wrote with Matthew West and AJ Prius back in 2016 upon signing his publishing deal. He states on Twitter, “I immediately knew this was the type of song I was chasing as an artist.”
A highlight on the EP is “Mothers” a song that our Managing Editor, Christina picked for her August Pick this past summer. Chronicling the importance that only a mother can give, Finchum along with his cowriters, Andy Skib, and Catt Gravitt will touch your heart with their warm lyrics and make you want to pick up the phone and call your mama.

Country music needs to make room for a talented trio comprised of extraordinary siblings, Emma and Maddie Salute, and of course their good friend, Dawson Anderson. Temecula Road excels with their unmatched harmonies, fresh sound, and cool lyrics. In their newest release, out today, “Maybe Not,” fans finally get to hear more music from the trio.
The new song is their third recent release, following “Fades” and “Never Knew I Needed You.” “Maybe Not” features an enticing sound, as the girls trade-off vocals with Anderson, creating a, “he said, she said” type mentality. The back and forth of the lyrics toy with the idea that there is a chance for romance but clearly shows how guarded they feel. Unlike “Fades,” which describes heartbreak and “Never Knew I Needed You,” which is all about true love, “Maybe Not” is the middle ground between the two. The trio expresses the uncertainty of a potential new relationship in the most effortless and desirable way through their captivating lyrics and killer melody.
“Maybe hearts like ours are only good as one time stepping stones / Maybe it’s just one night / One good try / Maybe here and now that’s all we got / And maybe / You’re going to hate me / Maybe, I won’t be calling you baby / Or maybe not.”
We’re excited to see how the trio continues to evolve in the industry. We are certainly rooting for success in their careers, and of course, when they make their Opry debut at The Ryman in Nashville on November 1st. For tickets and more information head to temecularoad.com. Fans can also catch the band at Stagecoach Festival in California this April.

With her luscious fiery red hair, glittery eyeshadow, fringe skirt, and southern drawl, Caylee Hammack entered YouTube Space NY for her Q&A with Esquire’s Madison Vain like the southern sweetheart she is, truly thanking everyone for coming. But it didn’t take long for her innocent look to reveal what was underneath: a passionate, opinionated, loving woman from Georgia, rising from the ashes with bumps and bruises along the way who loves to make country music.
She talks of her single “Family Tree” and how it was her story, born from the people in her life who raised her, complete with Tupperware parties and burnt chicken that her mother denies, some tongue-in-cheek humor, and maybe a few swear words thrown in. She does admit to being a little bit of a redneck, and as a lover of words, she says, “some words it’s not they mean, it’s how you say it, it’s how it feels on the tip of your tongue; all these things lend its hand to songwriting.”
With tones of Reba and soul like Adele, Hammack’s songs make you feel something in your bones, connecting with people through music, of which she says God put her on Earth here to do. She first played “Redhead”, a song about raising a child with the fire and spirit of a passionate redhead. “Raised a little hell, when they raised a little redhead”. This has a little Miranda Lambert sound, and with her energy on stage, she’s a star with a powerhouse voice. No wonder she couldn’t give up her dreams for a guy, the song “Small Town Hypocrite” tells the story of, full of utter wringing in her heart. She played “New Level of Life” which she had never played in front of a live audience before, guiding the audience through getting over someone in the best way possible, taking them to their higher self and feeling so much better. “Forged in the Fire” originated from the quote her dad would always say, but came true too soon when her own house burned down 2 years ago, and she somehow managed to find the brightest light through the love and help of the people who got her through that.
Having toured with Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley, this girl is on the rise and no one can stop her. She’s a force to be reckoned with and a heart to connect with, and we can’t wait until all of these songs released.

Just five months after releasing their EP One Heart to Another, country duo Maddie and Tae (Maddie Marlow and Taylor Dye) are back with part two, Everywhere I’m Goin’. If you thought the tracks that were released in April were personal, wait until you give this a listen. What makes this release extra special is the CMA Award nominees have co-written each of the titles.
Starting with the title track, “Everywhere I’m Goin’” starts out showing off their incredible talent and harmonies. Written by Marlow, Dye, Laura Veltz, and Jimmy Robbins, the track shares how the girls are ready to put the past behind them and start the next chapter of their careers with their fiancées, Jonah Front and Josh Kerr, by their side.
The second track, “Trying on Rings,” is one of the more personal songs on the EP. It shares the journey of Marlow’s relationship with Front. From their first date when they were 17, to trying on engagement rings, it shows that young love can beat the odds and turn into a happily ever after. Written by Marlow, Dye, Laura Veltz, and Jimmy Robbins, it shows that the duo isn’t afraid of sharing intimate relationship details with their fans.
There are two songs that everyone going through a breakup needs to hear, “Ain’t There Yet” and “Bathroom Floor.” While “Ain’t There Yet” is more about taking as much time as you need after a breakup, “Bathroom Floor” is about moving on and having fun again. Both have a more edgy sound and show off the duos wide range of vocals.
The most anticipated song on the EP “Lay Here with Me” features country superstar and 2015 tourmate Dierks Bentley. It’s a powerful acoustic duet about a couple wanting to reconcile after a fight and truly showcases everyone’s talent. It starts with Marlow with Dye joining in on the chorus. The second verse is where Bentley comes in. It may not have been a collaboration anyone was expecting, but their voices together are the perfect blend.
Overall, Everywhere I’m Goin’ shows the authenticity of the singer-songwriters as they clearly aren’t holding anything back. In a recent press release, Marlow shared, “This project as a whole is super personal, but these five songs, in particular, take you on an even deeper dive into our lives.”
The talented duo is nominated once again for Vocal Duo of the Year at the 2019 CMA Awards. Tune in on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC to see if they win! Marlow and Dye are currently in the final weeks of the Cry Pretty Tour alongside Runaway June and Carrie Underwood. Read our recap of the sold-out Madison Square Garden show here.

Platinum award-winning singer-songwriter ChrisJanson released his third album Real Friends today, and the album is as personal as it can get. Real Friends is Janson‘s latest project with Warner Music Nashville, and a follow up to previous chart-topping records Everybody and Buy Me A Boat. All thirteen tracks are co-written and produced by Janson, and the album lives up to its title because he created it with all of his “real friends” including the song-writing, the producing, and even the special guest track featuring his “Ol Friend” Blake Shelton.
Janson kicks off the album with the Top 10 chart-topping country song “Good Vibes” which Billboard dubbed an “electric, juiced-up anthem” about soaking it all up and enjoying life. He keeps the energy high with the second track, “Check.” The twangy up-tempo song reflects on all that he has, and how far he’s come. The talented multi-instrumentalist breaks out his harmonica mid-song and the anthemic chorus is as catchy as they come.
“Done” is the third track and it is an ode to his wife and his admiration and love for her. Janson recently released the autobiographical music video to “Done” and it is an incredible display of true love. He sings on how he knew he met the one with lyrics, “Done, the first time I saw you, done.” “Normal People” is the next song that everyone can relate to. It describes the day to day life of the world that we live in with lyrics, “We live for the weekend, jump off of the deep end, in a backyard pool keeping it cool, barbeque on the grill, we got church on Sunday, we got work on Monday, we’re keeping it real, keeping it simple, normal people”.
Halfway through the album, Janson turns it up a notch with “Say About Me,” a heavy guitar song, that has a bit of an edge and a whole lot of rock and roll to it. Janson confidently sings, “I make money, I make music, I got swagger, and I use it.” Even though he’s a redneck boy, he was raised to not care what people say about him. Janson continues to emulate his determined and blue-collar persona on the next track “Waiting on 5.” It is a tribute to those who work hard and watch the clocks waiting to get out of work to enjoy life and “have a little party.”
There is no doubt Janson is a husband and family man. Janson shows off his strong vocals with the ballad “Hawaii On Me” where he explains how he would want people to live life once he’s passed on. He mentions not to mourn, but rather celebrate and have a party. He reminds his love, “I made a good living, I lived a good life, I raised some great kids, and I loved a great wife, so get on a plane in a first-class seat, when I die, go to Hawaii on me.” In the following song, “Mine Does” Janson shows off all that he loves about his wife in a more playful uptempo manner.
The singer-songwriter takes a break on love songs and shows appreciation for life and nature with “God’s Gotta Be A Good Ol’ Boy.” He explains God must be something special since especially since he “put the bucks in the woods, he put bass in the water, and put the redneck in the old blue-collar.” Next up is the title track “Real Friends” which features country superstar Blake Shelton. An electric guitar and a thumping background beat allow Janson and Shelton to tell us a story of when things in life may not be going your way, or you need an extra hand, you can count on your true friends to raise a drink with you and get you through it. “Real Friends” is an anthem that can and will be played in bars all over the country.
Janson keeps up with the positive vibes once again with “Everybody’s Going Through Something.” It is a subtle reminder that at the end of the day everything is going to be okay. The last two tracks of Real Friends is all about the good times. “Beer Me” is the ultimate party song and every reason why we all would want to have a drink. Janson sings it best with, “Any ol’ time is a damn good time to beer me.” The party continues on the next track with “Country USA.” The rowdy song gives us a taste of what it’s like in letting loose after a long week of work in a small town.
Real Friends in its entirety is an example of unrefined artistry, incredible talent, and ability to turn life stories into songs. Janson did exactly that on what matters most in life and that is what makes him an unbelievably successful singer-songwriter. He is currently headlining his Real Friends – Fall 2019 Tour, a 22 date run that has already made headlines selling out Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennesee. Rolling Stone calls Janson a “live legacy in the making,” and his explosive stage presence and authenticity night in and night out is one to be seen. Janson will be bringing his charismatic energy to Brooklyn, New York on December 4th for NY Country’s Stars & Strings Concert.

We wanted to share an inspiring story with all of our followers and challenge them to dedicate a workout to a member of the FDNY, Matt McDevitt. The husband and father of two was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and all of his treatments are limiting his ability to hit the gym. A few weeks ago, he asked his wife, Jackie, to go out and run for him, because if he could, he would. This notion has impacted so many across the country, dedicating their workouts and breaking a sweat in his honor.
Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) even sent him a video of encouragement.
Spread the word by using #McDevittStrong and tag three people to join you in this challenge. In addition to dedicating your work out, if you want to donate, there is a GoFundMe page set up for Matt and his family.
*UPDATE 10/30/19 – It is with deep regret that we report that FDNY member, Matt McDevitt has lost his long-fought battle with cancer. 💔 He leaves behind a wife, a two-year-old & a newborn baby. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this heartbreaking time. We want to encourage everyone to go out and get a workout done in Matt’s honor. Keep #McDevittStrong and sweat because you can.
