Luke Combs continues his streak of number ones with his 12th song to top the country charts, “Cold As You.”

Ryan Hurd and Maren Morris’ beautiful, collaborative song “Chasing After You” hit the number one spot on the country music charts this week.
Today, we celebrate one of country music’s most iconic couples, Ryan Hurd and Maren Morris. Throughout the years, both Hurd and Morris have found their individual musical journeys and fan bases. Both have had success in their own right, but now the singer-songwriters get to celebrate together. Their first collaborate song, “Chasing After You” officially hit the number one spot at country radio.
The song marks the first chart-topper for Hurd as an artist and the fifth number one single for Morris. Written by Brinley Addington and Jerry Flowers, “Chasing After You” is a romantic song that perfectly suited Hurd and Morris’ stellar voices. It was just a matter of time before the song made its way up the charts.
“But I know, yeah I know it’s a matter of time // ‘Til you walk, ’til you walk back out of my life // Leave me standing here lonely, feeling like a fool, mm, mm // Every time, every time you say we’re done // You come back to the love you were running from // Don’t know why, don’t know why I let you, but I do // Guess I love chasing after you”
Congrats to the Hurd-Morris family and their teams on an incredible feat!

We love reminiscing about all the great country music to hit country radio over the last few years. In our brand new series, we’re looking back on the songs that made it to the top of the country airplay charts. Today, we’re highlighting songs in Morgan Wallen’s young career that hit the number one spot.
“Up Down”- If I Know Me, 2017
Morgan Wallen’s second single to country radio earned him notoriety in the music industry. This killer collaboration with Florida Georgia Line continues to be a fan-favorite amongst Wallen fans, due to his punchy and catchy melody. “Up Down” proves to be an international smash hit!
“Whiskey Glasses”- If I Know Me, 2018
“Whiskey Glasses” upped the ante for Wallen. The song is the third single to head to country radio from his debut record If I Know Me. It features enticing lyrics and a fun melody. The single continues to be a staple at live shows.
“Chasin’ You”- If I Know Me, 2019
“Chasin’ You” is one of the first slow-jams to reach the top of the chart for Wallen. The song shows off his writing chops, as well as, his ability to be vulnerable in a song. Wallen’s vocal performance is impressive in this one-of-a-kind track.
“More Than My Hometown”- Dangerous: The Double Album, 2020
Wallen’s lead single off his sophomore record Dangerous: The Double Album, “More Than My Hometown” went viral on TikTok. The single is a countrified tune. Written by Wallen with HARDY, Ernest, Keith Smith, and Ryan Vojtesak, the song is romantic, inviting, and bittersweet. He combines elements of both nostalgia and heartbreak while maintaining an undeniable charm and sense of self.
“Sand In My Boots”- Dangerous: The Double Album, 2022
After his return to country radio, Morgan Wallen’s “Sand In My Boots”, from Dangerous: The Double Album, quickly climbed to the number one spot. An instant hit with fans, Wallen used the song to open his 2022 headlining tour with the piano-driven track. “Sand In My Boots” is a slow groove that puts Wallen’s authentic vocals on full display. The song is sure to be the first of many number one hits to come after Wallen’s return to radio.
“Wasted On You”- Dangerous: The Double Album, 2022
Shortly after his return to country music radio, Wallen’s song “Wasted On You” charted. The song is a quintessential Wallen song, featuring all the components: pulling on our heartstrings, making us feel heard, and as catchy as ever.
“You Proof”- One Thing At A Time, 2022
A while back, Wallen posted an audio clip of a song on his social media. The song became “You Proof.” While it’s just a promotional single and not (yet) a part of any major project, “You Proof” became an instant hit with fans. So much so, that it has been sitting pretty at the top of the country music charts for four weeks and counting (as of 11/4/22).
“Thought You Should Know”- One Thing At A Time, 2023
At the top of 2023, one of Wallen’s most personal songs to date, “Thought You Should Know” landed at the top of the country radio charts. The single is a lyrically-gifted song that focuses on a conversation that Wallen is having with his mother over his success and his failures throughout his career.
“Last Night”- One Thing At A Time, 2023
Marking his fastest rising number one single at country radio to date, “Last Night” is certainly a fan-favorite. Wallen is at his absolute best on this song. While the lyrics are on the cheeky side, the song has clearly resonated with all country music fans and country radio alike.
“Thinkin’ Bout Me”- One Thing At A Time, 2023
A fan-favorite song from Wallen’s latest album, “Thinkin’ Bout Me,” conveys the story about having a spark with someone. The song is one of the standout tracks from Wallen’s impressive project that is already proving to be full of hits.
“Man Made A Bar” ft. Eric Church – One Thing At A Time, 2024
“Man Made A Bar” marks an iconic pairing in country music. Wallen has been outspoken about his love for Eric Church, so watching these two become friends and create music together has been a real treat. The song is the perfect combination of both of their talents, and it is obvious why it went to the top of the country radio charts.
“I Had Some Help” with Post Malone – 2o24
Morgan Wallen earned his twelfth number one at country radio with his mega-hit, “I Had Some Help.” Wallen was featured on the Post Malone song, which many called the song of the summer. The track was a surefire number one.
“Cowgirls” ft. Ernest – 2024
Another iconic collaboration, “Cowgirls” with Ernest earned Wallen his thirteenth number one single at country radio. The song was a fan-favorite from the beginning, showcasing the best sides of Wallen and Ernest.
“Lies Lies Lies” – 2024
What felt like one of the quickest rises to number one, “Lies Lies Lies” officially marks Wallen’s 14th number one single at country radio. The infectious and captivating single feels like a new era of music for the superstar.
*SPECIAL MENTION:
“7 Summers”- Dangerous: The Double Album, 2020
Another popular Wallen song, “7 Summers” debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, however, after Wallen’s racial slur scandal, the song was dropped from country radio. The popular track otherwise had the potential to hit number one on the Country Airplay charts as well. Despite that, the song remains a fan-favorite, and for good reason.

Here are all of Thomas Rhett’s number one singles in his music catalog. Thomas Rhett has racked up 21 number one singles beginning with his first one in 2013 with “It Goes Like This” to his most recent with “Country Again” just last month. Rhett has hit songs of each of his five studio albums. Check out the full list below.
1.“It Goes Like This”- It Goes Like This, 2013
“It Goes Like This” was the title track of Rhett’s first studio album in 2013 and became his first studio album and rightly became his first number one single. It introduced fans to his unique style of country stories with a pop-twist and made us fall in love with his storytelling before we even knew about the girl behind the songs. The song was co-written by Rhett’s father Rhett Akins, Ben Hayslip, and Jimmy Robbins.
2.“Get Me Some of That”- It Goes Like This, 2013
“Get Me Some of That” was another song off of Rhett’s debut album, It Goes Like This. It was written by Akins, Cole Swindell, and Michael Carter.
3. “Make Me Wanna”- It Goes Like This, 2014
“Make Me Wanna,” co-written by Rhett, Bart Butler, and Larry McCoy, marks the third and last number one to come from Rhett’s debut album and the first number one that Rhett co-wrote. What a start!
4. “Crash and Burn”- Tangled Up, 2015
“Crash and Burn” would be one of four number ones to come from Rhett’s second studio album, Tangled Up, released two years after his first album. The song was co-written by Jesse Frasure and Chris Stapleton.
5. “Die A Happy Man”- Tangled Up, 2015
“Die A Happy Man” is the song that changed everything for Rhett. In 2016, he received his first ACM and CMA Award for the song – Single Record of the Year (ACM) and Song of the Year(CMA). In 2017 he would also win ACM for Song of the Year for “Die A Happy Man”. All for ‘a little song about holding her hand’ as he would peg it in his future single “Life Changes” a couple years later. The song was co-written by Rhett, Joe London, and Sean Douglas.
6. “T-Shirt”- Tangled Up, 2016
“T-Shirt” would follow “Die A Happy Man” as Rhett entered a new era of success – one in which fans didn’t just love hearing his songs, but they loved hearing the songs he’d sing about his wife, Lauren Akins. “Vacation” was right up there with these two songs, but peaked at #2 on the charts, falling short of reaching number 1. “T-Shirt” was written by Ashley Gorley, Luke Laird, and Shane McAnally.
7. “Star of the Show”- Tangled Up, 2016
“Star of the Show” solidified the theory that fans loved to hear love songs about Rhett and his wife, making it the fourth No.1 off his sophomore album, and the third of which was written about her. “Star of the Show” was co-written by Rhett, Akins, and Ben Hayslip.
8. “Craving You” Feat. Maren Morris- Life Changes, 2017
“Craving You” was the first of five number ones to come from Rhett’s third studio album. Written by Dave Barnes and Julian Bunetta, the duet with incredible vocalist Maren Morris was a huge hit for both artists and across multiple genres.
9. “Unforgettable”- Life Changes, 2017
“Unforgettable” was the second number one off of Rhett’s 2017 album, Life Changes. It was written by Rhett, Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley, and Shane McAnally.
10. “Marry Me”- Life Changes, 2017
“Marry Me” is a rare, morbidly romantic song for Rhett compared to his upbeat love songs about he and his wife and their story. This rather, is what Rhett could have seen happening if he hadn’t told Lauren that he loved her. “Marry Me” was written by Rhett, Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley and Shane McAnally.
11. “Life Changes”- Life Changes, 2018
“Life Changes” brought Rhett into yet another era. While he had gotten used to sharing the story of him and his wife aside from your average country tune, this was the most personal song Rhett had released to date. This song really let fans in and since then, his two most recent albums have been even more personal than the prior. “Life Changes” was written by Rhett, Akins, Ashley Gorley and Jesse Frasure.
12. “Sixteen”- Life Changes, 2018
“Sixteen” was relatable to so many listeners as it is a song about being happy with where you are in life, and not wishing you were any older or younger than you are and realizing you are exactly where you are supposed to be. This song marked the fifth and final No. 1 for Rhett’s Life Changes album. It was written by Rhett, Sean Douglas and Joe Spargur.
13. “Look What God Gave Her”- Center Point Road, 2019
“Look What God Gave Her” is the first number one off of Rhett’s 2019 album, Center Point Road. It was co-written by Rhett, Akins, Julian Bunetta, Josh Ryan, Jacob Kasher, and Ammar Malik. Rhett also co-produced the song with Dan Huff.
14. “Remember You Young”- Center Point Road, 2019
“Remember You Young” was co-written by Rhett, Ashley Gorley and Jesse Frasure. It’s a song that resonates with a lot of listeners, as its about remembering all your favorite people in your life in their prime, whatever that may mean to you.
15. “Beer Can’t Fix” Ft. Jon Pardi- Center Point Road, 2019
“Beer Can’t Fix” was written by Rhett, Julian Bunetta, Ryan Tedder, and Zach Skelton and marks the third and final No. 1 off the Center Point Road project.
16. “Be A Light” (feat. Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin, and Keith Urban), 2020
“Be A Light” is Rhett’s only number one that is not a part of an album. The song was written by Rhett, Matt Dragstrem, Josh Miller, and Josh Thompson and Rhett invited Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin, and Keith Urban to be on the song with him. The song was a song of the times throughout the pandemic, and was released to help raise funds for MusiCares covid-19 relief efforts.
17. “What’s Your Country Song”- Country Again: Side A, 2020
“What’s Your Country Song” was co-written by Rhett, Akins, Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley and Parker Welling and the first song he released off his post-quarantine project, Country Again: Side A. One of those ‘songs about songs’, Rhett sings about how everyone has some type of country in them, while slipping in several classic country titles including one by his own Dad and co-writer.
18. “Country Again”- Country Again: Side A, 2021
“Country Again” is the title track of Rhett’s current project, and the second off the first part of the album. There is still time for more hits from this incredible album! Including a highly anticipated Side B portion of the project. It embodies exactly what Rhett aims to do with this new collection of music and what he spent so much of the pandemic writing about, which is getting back to his roots. The song was written by Rhett, Ashley Gorley, and Zack Crowell.
19. “Slow Down Summer”- Where We Started, 2022
Rhett secured his 19th number one single with the lead track off his latest album, “Slow Down Summer.” The nostalgic song debuted back in November 2021. According to Rhett, the song depicts a teenage romance that is about to be disrupted by college plans. “‘Slow Down Summer’ really is about two kids in love, a perfect song to root for.
20. “Half Of Me” ft. Riley Green – Where We Started, 2022
Rhett secures his 20th number one single with Riley Green on this collaborative song. Written by Rhett with Will Bundy, Josh Thompson, and Rhett Akins, while on tour, the song is all about wanting a drink more than anything else. Bringing Green as a collaborator on the song upped the ante of the already fun, and stage-ready track.
21. “Angels” – Where We Started, 2023
“Angels” is one of those songs that fans have grown to love from the entertainer. A beautiful song about love, the single is a perfect embodiment of how it feels to be loved unconditionally by a person, despite your flaws. Rhett knocks it out of the park with this song.
22. “Mamaw’s House” ft. Morgan Wallen – 20 Number Ones, 2024
When two superstars combine their talents, it is almost a guarantee that the song will shoot to the number one spot on the country radio charts. “Mamaw’s House” featuring Morgan Wallen was a clear favorite the moment it was released.
As Rhett continues to put out new music, there’s no telling how many future number ones the superstar will add to his growing list.

“If I didn’t love you, I’d be good by now // I’d be better than barely getting by somehow // Yeah it would be easy not to miss you // Wonder about who’s with you // Turn the want you off whenever I want too // If I didn’t love you”

Lee Brice earns his 9th career and 4th consecutive number one (#1) song with “Memory I Don’t Mess With.”
Lee Brice is an artist that we believe has not gotten enough recognition over the course of his career. However in the last few years, the tides have changed for the platinum-selling entertainer. His last four songs to hit country radio have made their way to the top spot. Today, we celebrate the singer’s newest number one single, “Memory I Don’t Mess With.”
The hit song follows “Rumor,” “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” ft. Carly Pearce, and “One Of Them Girls.” “Memory I Don’t Mess With” impacted country radio eleven months ago, and almost a year to the date of its release day found its way to the top of the charts. The song conveys the message of not wanting to recall the memories of the one who got away.
“That’s a memory I don’t mess with // The girl I was the best with // The one I was obsessed with // Girl, you just don’t get it // I’d fall right back with one slip // Always leave me helpless // Don’t hate me, I can’t help it // Gotta leave us where we left it // You’re a memory I don’t mess with”
It appears Brice’s Hey Worldproject is a true masterpiece, as all of its singles have went number one. Congrats to Brice and his team one an awesome accomplishment!

Scotty McCreery scored his fourth consecutive number one single with his song “You Time” off his newest record, Same Truck.
Scotty McCreery has lived a whole other life since he won over our hearts on the TV screen back in 2011’s American Idol. In the last few years, he has really found his footing as a country artist, singing songs about his faith, his now-wife, and country living. McCreery’s latest single “You Time” officially hit the number one spot on the charts. It follows “Five More Minutes,” “This Is It,” and “In Between.”
The song is all about craving that one on one time with your partner. Due to McCreery’s busy schedule, time with his family most likely feels even more special and necessary. The song was even written on the road, when the singer was at his busiest. Written by McCreery, Frank Rogers, and Aaron Eshuis, the fun, upbeat track shows that hitting pause in our busy lives to recharge with our significant others is important.
“The road’s got me rollin’ six days a week // Whole lotta work and not much sleep // But I love what I do // Yeah, I know it’s what I signed up for // Chasin’ dreams from shore to shore //And even seeing some come true”
