Logan Mize Releases “Thinking About You”

Logan Mize

The independent singer-songwriter Logan Mize is giving us an even more sneak peek of his upcoming EP. His forthcoming new, five-song From The Vault EP was created for his dedicated fans and is due May 17. The tracks are from sessions recorded between 2013-2014 that he thought deserved a chance. He recently just dropped his nostalgic track “Only In This Town” and now we’re seeing a different side of his EP today (5/10) with “Thinking About You.”

“Thinking About You” is written by GRAMMY Album Of The Year Award-winner Daniel Tashian, who co-produced Kacey Musgraves’ Golden Hour and songwriter Troy Verges who has well-known tracks for Tim McGraw and Little Big Town. Mize credits Daniel Tashian’s demo of the song, adding in a recent press release that, “When I heard Daniel Tashian’s demo of this song, it sounded like it should be a big pop classic from a 1980’s John Hughes film. I took it in the studio with a hodgepodge of session players and road guys, and we just had a blast cutting it.” The track starts off with a guitar throwback feel that makes you wanna turn up the radio and bop your head. The song’s about loving everything about someone and not being able to get them off your mind.

“I’ve been thinking about you / How you walk how you talk / Such a pretty mess I see you dancing in your boots and your black dress / Stone cold you’re so fine / I gotta let you know if you were mine I’d never ever let you go / When you move / When you shake it and you down/ Make my heart beat so loud / You’re too good to be true / Yeah, I’ve been thinking about you”

Mize’s unique and authentic sound with a hint southern-rock and country is what sets him apart from every other artist. He’s setting the bar high for independent artists with his upcoming EP From The Vault. Check out our live session with Logan back in 2018 in the video below. Mize will continue playing his headlining tour, “Better Off Gone Tour” through the beginning of June. For tickets and more tour information, check out his website loganmize.com

Logan Mize Releases Nostalgic “Only In This Town”

Logan Mize

Kansas country artist Logan Mize is a singer-songwriter, who truly cares about his fans. With a fan-driven EP in the works, coming later this year, and his single “Better Off Gone” climbing the charts, the independent artist is keeping fans excited for more music. Mize delivers on another song, releasing “Only In This Town” today (5/3).

The song features Mize’s unique southern-rock vibe and intriguing vocals. Written by the singer with songwriter Casey Beathard, the lyrics are an ode to Mize’s hometown, but can easily make the listener nostalgic for their own hometown. “Only In This Town” is slated to be one of the five tracks off Mize’s upcoming EP, entitled From The Vault. Each song, including this cut, are tracks that the singer-songwriter has played at shows with his road band. The tracks were recorded later.

The performer credits his tour band for helping him record and finish the track, adding in a recent press release that, “It was mostly my touring band, including the late Derek Wyatt, who passed last year. Derek was the #1 reason I felt comfortable in the studio. He was so uplifting and complimentary to all of our playing but you can hear on the track who was bringing the most energy.”

The track fits in perfectly with what is popular in country music right now, while still having a unique flair to it. The song and Mize’s artistry are unapologetically raw, authentic, and special, making it easy to see why he is successfully breaking down barriers as an independent artist.

“They don’t give a damn / Who I think I am / No they hold my feet to my family name / I’m just one of them and that won’t ever change / Only in this town / Does it feel like home.”

The NYCountry Swag Session alum continues playing his headlining tour, ‘Better Off Gone Tour’ through the beginning of June, hitting the midwest area later this week For tickets and more tour information, head to loganmize.com.

Tyler Rich Premieres New Song and Video for “Leave Her Wild”

Tyler Rich "Leave Her Wild" Music Video

Tyler Rich “Leave Her Wild” Music Video

As the clock struck midnight, Valory Music Co. recording artist, Tyler Rich released his first song of the new year, entitled “Leave Her Wild.” With a loyal fanbase behind him, a successful self-titled debut album, which was released in 2018, and a sold-out touring gig with Brett Young on his resume, the singer is primed for an even bigger year in 2019.

Fans may be familiar with Rich’s newly released song, as he’s been performing “Leave Her Wild” live at shows over the past couple of months. The recording artist shared his excitement about the new track, as well as his appreciation for the fans’ support, sharing on his Twitter, “I’m SO beyond excited to finally release this song! The endless messages I’ve gotten from all of you since we started playing this live has meant so much to me. So, Thank you! If this song moves you, then please share it! #LeaveHerWild.”

The lyrically-focused track reminds people to never try to change the person they fell in love with. Rich beautifully articulates the importance of always remembering the little things you loved about your person, and to always allow he or she to stay true to themselves. The song is certainly one for Rich to celebrate.

“If you find a girl / Hands up / Hanging half way out on the highway / You find a girl / Like whiskey / Mixed in a handle of coffee / Find a girl who scares you half to death / You’d kill to be the train she wrecks / Don’t tell her, I never met someone like you / Then try to turn her into every girl you’ve ever knew / If you’re gonna love her / If you’re gonna love her / If you’re gonna love her / Leave her wild”

To elevate the song even more, Rich surprisingly dropped ‘A First Look’ music video to accompany the track. The visuals will put a smile on your face, as the camera flashes to clips of different people, children, and couples living freely, doing whatever they desire. The video ends with the image of Rich smiling ear to ear in the recording booth.

Catch the singer at Taste of Country Music Festival at New York’s Hunter Mountain in June, where NYCountry Swag will also set-up shop for the third year, so make sure to stop by! Additionally, Rich will make a stop at Nashville’s CMA Fest just days later. For tickets and more tour information, head to tylerrich.com

Teddy Robb Releases Somber New Track “Tell Me How”

Teddy Robb, Photo by: Matthew Berinato

Here at NYCountry Swag, we’ve been waiting patiently for Teddy Robb to release his new song “Tell Me How” to the public.  We had the opportunity to hear the 2019 Artist to Watch sing the track back in November when he hosted an intimate evening in Nashville at the Douglas Café with songwriters Ryan Beaver and Heather Morgan.

Unlike his first two singles, “Really Shouldn’t Drink Around You” and “Lead Me On,” “Tell Me How” has a more somber vibe. The singer shares a personal side of himself as the song is about a breakup and how the singer is having a difficult time moving on. Like anyone dealing with heartbreak, he is wondering where his ex is now and playing back what happened for the relationship to end.

“Tell me you’re okay / Tell me you made it through / Tell me you’re over me /  You don’t think about me and you / Tell me you can sleep at night / Tell me your happy now / Tell me you’ve moved on / Then tell me how”

Robb then goes into how he has tried to get over the breakup which included going to church, drinking, going on a date, and going to Mexico. These coping mechanisms are all very relatable, who hasn’t wanted to get away from the real world or try and quickly move on after the end of a relationship?

Overall, the singer-songwriter hopes that his ex is doing better off than he is and if they can share their tips, as he hasn’t figured out just quite how to let go. Whether or not the track is about Robb or a friend, the honest lyrics tug at the heartstrings and teaches us that not everyone gets over a breakup right away and that’s just fine.

It’s HAPPENING. New Taylor Swift: “ME!” ft. Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco

Fans of country-pop icon, Taylor Swift quickly turned into FBI agents as the singer-songwriter dropped several clues leading up to what one could only assume would be a new music release. As her Instagram was filled with colorful pastel images, the number 426 was posted across socials, and a countdown clock replaced the homepage on her website, Swifties began to spectulate what the encrypted messages could mean.

As the clock turned into it’s final hours of the countdown earlier today, fans in Nashville began to gather at a new butterfly mural in The Gulch area where rumor spread that Swift herself would make a pop-up appearance.

Just as suspected, the country-pop star appeared at the mural just before noon giving fans the opportunity to take selfies and confirmed that there would be another clue leading up to the big news later in the day. Swift told fans to tune into ABC tonight where she would be joining Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts live from Nashville to share more information.

Hours later, during the broadcast of the NFL Draft, which was being hosted live from Nashville, Swift appeared in between draft picks to take viewers on a tour of Music City. The video package showed Swift in a car driving through Nashville stopping at her high school, Sony ATV publishing, as well as the famed Bluebird Cafe where she was first discovered.

The clip ended with Swift joining Roberts where she confirmed that not only was new music coming tonight at midnight, but a music video, too! To further elaborate, Swift included that the brand new single from the forthcoming highly anticipated seventh studio album would be titled, “ME!” and will feature Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie.

Follow along on the YouTube Live Premiere below and be sure to follow NYCountry Swag on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook as the story develops.

Fans can also find the track at midnight on our new music playlist here. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new music fix.

LANCO Release Inspiring Music Video for New Song, “Rival”

LANCO "Rival" Music Video

LANCO “Rival” Music Video

The ACM “New Group of the Year”, LANCO released an inspiring music video to their brand new single, “Rival” on Monday, April 22nd.  In the video, a diverse crowd of individuals are writing the ways others have told them they aren’t good enough on a brick wall. Phrases such as “failure”, “application denied”, “unlovable” and “one hit wonder” are scribbled on the wall. The group take sledgehammers and bash through the wall, symbolizing the song’s main theme; overcoming hate, judgement and discouragement.

“We really wanted to capitalize on the true message behind the song that was built from different times in our lives and the stories from fans who have felt beat-down and lost, but ultimately find hope and redemption,” lead vocalist Brandon Lancaster said in a recent press release. “Every caption on that wall was an experience that person had to overcome, and when it was knocked down you could feel the genuine joy from everyone on the set. It was a powerful moment I’ll never forget.”

Check out the full-length empowering new music video below.

The video was directed by the well-established music video director Peter Zavadil. Zavadil directed LANCO’s “Long Live Tonight” as well as other videos for fellow country artists such as Billy Ray Cyrus, Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire, Eric Church, Dierks Bentley and many others.

“Rival” is the lead single off the group’s upcoming sophomore album. Released on March 21st, the track already has over one million streams. LANCO’s first album Hallelujah Nights debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums with 13,000 copies sold in the first week and today has over 550 million streams. The lead single “Greatest Love Story” went double platinum and reached number one on Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay.

New Yorkers can catch  LANCO live at the Taste of Country Music Festival in June at Hunter Mountain, where NYCountry Swag will also set-up shop for the third year, so make sure to stop by! For tickets and more information, head to lancomusic.com.

Teddy Robb Releases Music Video for “Really Shouldn’t Drink Around You”

Teddy Robb “Really Shouldn’t Drink Around You” Music Video

Songwriter, turned Sony Monument Records recording artist, Teddy Robb is proving why we chose him as one of our 2019 Artists to Watch. After finding success with his debut single “Lead Me On,” Robb further showed off his talent with his honest song “Really Shouldn’t Drink Around You”. The singer-songwriter premiered the official music video for the track everywhere Wednesday, April 25th.

Written by heavy hitting songwriters, Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, and Trevor Rosen (Old Dominion), the song suggests that drinking around an ex-lover isn’t usually the best idea. The track is as relatable as it gets, featuring clever word play and catchy lyrics. Robb’s vocals give off a fresh and new sound, while feeling believable and charming all at the same time.

When Robb first released the song, he shared on his Twitter, “What I love about country music is the stories the songs tell & how they can take you to a certain place & time…” This is exactly what his song and music video does.

The music video showcases the singer-songwriter narrating with a guitar in hand, singing the cleverly strung together lyrics, “You say that we can be friends / But, hey let’s be honest / There ain’t really no such thing as gin and platonic.” The picturesque background and Robb’s sultry smile adds a little mystery to the visuals.

As the video progresses, the camera flashes to Robb and a love interest drinking, playing pool, cuddling around a fire, and eventually going home together, depicting things that happen when you drink around an old flame.

Check out the full-length video below, and look out for the ending.

Robb is slated to release more music this year with a brand new track dropping tomorrow, Friday, Arpil 26th. Make sure to check back here where we’ll keep you updated on the release. Ingrid Andress Releases New Music Video for “More Hearts Than Mine”

Ingrid Andress "More Hearts Than Mine" Music Video

Ingrid Andress “More Hearts Than Mine” Music Video

For Atlantic Records/ Warner Music Nashville Artist Ingrid Andress, family is everything. Having been raised in a large family, the mega-talented singer-songwriter is reflecting on those experiences in her new video for “More Hearts Than Mine,” released yesterday (April 24).

In the poignant single, Andress reveals that a relationship going awry is bound to hurt more than just her.  “I rarely bring anybody I’m dating home to meet my family because they’re just such a sacred part of my life,” Andress revealed to Billboard, who premiered the video. “It came about from a real place of, ‘Just so you know, if you meet my family they’re very special people.’ It actually took me a few tries at recording it, because I kept tearing up and needed to take breaks…I hate crying in front of people. I’d have to step out and gather myself [but Sam and Derrick would say], ‘No, Ingrid. Come on and just cry. It’s fine.’”

We first heard the powerful track back in February when she played New York City’s Mercury Lounge. Co-written by Andress, Sam Ellis, and Derrick Southerland, “More Hearts Than Mine” is a simple, heart-wrenching tale of the devastation that a breakup can wreak upon a family.

Directed by Sam Siske, the video shows a young woman reflecting on a previous visit home with a former flame, as Andress sings the song’s narrative. The performances here are simple yet powerful, only serving to heighten the emotion conveyed by the track. Andress took to Twitter to share the video, writing, “Family is everything. Falling in love with somebody is incredible. When you combine the two, it’s a very vulnerable moment that can either be amazing or heartbreaking. I hope it resonates with y’all as much as it did for me.”

Check out the touching full-length video below.

To keep up with Ingrid Andress, follow her on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. She’ll continue to release new music throughout the year, and will be appearing at CMA Fest on June 8. There, she’ll take the stage alongside label-mates Tucker Beathard, Hunter Hayes, Cody Johnson and Ashley McBryde for the Firestone Country Roads Stage at Ascend Amphitheater Presented by Warner Music Nashville.

Morgan Wallen Pays Homage to Tour with “Whatcha Know ‘Bout That” Video

Morgan Wallen "Whatcha Know 'Bout That" Music Video

Morgan Wallen “Whatcha Know ‘Bout That” Music Video

Big Loud Records recording artist, Morgan Wallen has been cranking out hit after hit, since the release of his debut album If I Know Me last year. As his latest single “Whiskey Glasses” climbs the country charts, recently breaking through the top ten, the hitmaker decided to pay homage to his sold-out headlining tour with the music video for his album cut, “Whatcha Know ‘Bout That.”

Wallen used footage from his sold-out Nashville show as the backdrop for the song’s music video. We caught the tour back in February in New York City, and can see why Wallen wanted to pay homage to his successful headlining gig. On Twitter, the singer shared the link to the video, which was directed by Justin Clough, adding, “This was definitely a night that I’ll never forget.”

The singer-songwriter’s high energy performance lent itself well to the upbeat and energetic nature of “Whatcha Know ‘Bout That”. Throughout the video, the camera pans to shots of Nashville fans getting rowdy, as they sang and danced along to the jam. Their energy and enthusiasm added to the vibe of the song and music video.

Check out the fun and enticing full-length video below.

Wallen shows no signs of slowing down, as he is slated to perform at CMA Fest’s Riverfront stage in June, just before opening up for Florida Georgia Line on their ‘Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour’. New Yorkers can catch him on tour this Summer at New Jersey’s PNC Bank Arts Center on Saturday, July 11th and again the following weekend at Long Island’s Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theatre on Saturday, July 20th. Wallen is sure to bring his country twang, energetic spirit, and heartfelt vocals to center stage on both nights.

To keep up with Wallen, follow him on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
