[Listen] Rachel Wammack’s New Single “Enough”

Rachel Wammack Enough

Rachel Wammack’s latest single “Enough,” was released on March 15, 2019. Co-written with Laura Veltz and Sam Ellis, “Enough” is a descriptive track that conveys that simplicity is the key to life. Despite having goals and dreams, appreciating the good things that you have, love and family are what really matters.

It provides two messages that everyone needs to be reminded of, which are to not take for granted those that love you and to not get caught up in lofty desires or material items.  “If none of my dreams come true/If it’s down to just me and you/In this custom, hand-picked, signature brand of love/Well, baby it’s enough, enough.”  The lyrics are clearly influenced by traditional country love songs while having a slightly more pop-influenced melody, creating a unique fusion of sounds. “It’s something, isn’t it?/But it’s nothing without you in it”.

We caught the rising artist open for Brett Young last year on the CMT On Tour, read our recap of the great night of music here. Having had notable success from her self titled EP, which was released last year, Wammack is in a place to grow and further solidify her presence as an up and coming woman in country music. She is one of many new female artists pushing that the status quo is changed so that more women are recognized not only through radio airplay but within the genre as a whole.  Additionally, Wammack was named one of CMT’s Next Women of Country 2019, among other illustrious honors and recognition.

Be sure to catch her at one of her upcoming shows including Tortuga Music Festival, Stagecoach Music Festival, and Country LakeShake.

Cale Dodds Newest Single “I Like Where This Is Going”

Cale Dodds

Cale Dodds was one of our 2018 Artists To Watch and we love supporting any new music he comes out with. His blend of childhood heroes such as Tom Petty with his unique taste, his songs never let the fans down. Since signing with Warner Music Nashville, Dodds has released eight original songs including some of our personal favorites “Take You Back” and “Where I Get It From”. His newest single “I Like Where This Is Going” is opening a new chapter for Dodds as he continues to create his own style. Co-written by talented songwriters Nicolle Galyon and busbee, Dodd’s new single is an uptempo and steamy song about romance and the excitement of where love might lead.

“The needle ain’t on the vinyl yet but I’m dropping it cause you’re already starting to dance / It kinda feels like this whole night is in slow motion / I like where this is going”

Dodds’ songs have always been a personal anthem for him and the stories he has from growing up. While the storyline of the songs he releases may be about his life, every fan that listens can connect and this latest one is no different. “I’ve always been a fan of guys like Merle Haggard and Bruce Springsteen,” he says in a recent press release. “They would paint this world through music that you could live in, even if you’d never lived in it yourself, and that’s what I want to do.”

Getting ready to head on tour with Chase Rice and many other huge dates this year Dodds is committed to giving fans something to remember. You can stay up to date on all of his latest shows, music, and more on his website or socials.

“I Like Where This Is Going” is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.

It’s Here! Thomas Rhett’s Next Single “Look What God Gave Her”

Look What God Gave Her

Multi-platinum selling performer, Thomas Rhett dropped his new romantic but groovy single “Look What God Gave Her” today. Fans can expect to hear this song, as well as some more highly anticipated music from Rhett this weekend on Saturday Night Live.

“Look What God Gave Her” is the perfect example of Rhett’s take on fusing other genres with country, which is described in a recent press release as “electro-country”. “I think I played this song 2,000 times in a month after we first wrote it,” he said in a recent press release. “It makes me want to dance. It makes me want to move.”

Rhett blows us away with another song inspired by his wife Lauren but this time with a more up-tempo vibe. “My wife is so beautiful, but at the same time she’s inwardly beautiful, she’s funny, she’s kind, she’s the best mom I know…and she’s hilarious. It’s really just about thanking God for the human being he made, and singing it in a fun way.”

The single is also a perfect first taste of what’s to come from Rhett. He describes the new upbeat tune as “the perfect song to take fans into summer.” The song was co-written by Rhett, alongside his talented, hit-making father Rhett Akins, as well as Julian Bunetta, John Ryan, and J Cash.

Fans also got the news today that we can expect a fourth album titled Center Point Road from the singer in May and it is available for pre-order here.

More info is expected to be revealed soon about the forthcoming studio album. The title Center Point Road was inspired by the street in his Tennessee hometown that shaped and influenced much of his life experiences. The singer-songwriter also stated in the press release that he finds himself “getting back to his roots.”

Once Rhett wraps up his current Life Changes tour in Canada, the Very Hot Summer Tour will begin. New Yorkers can catch Rhett, along with openers Dustin Lynch, Russell Dickerson, and Rhett Akins in Holmdel, New Jersey at PNC Banks Art Center, and New York at Madison Square Garden. Introducing King Calaway: Behind-the-Scenes of NYCountry Swag

Wednesday (Jan 23.), New York Country Swag teamed up with BMG/BBR Music Group to promote their brand new artist, King Calaway. NYCS was tasked with filling up a New York City venue for an exclusive showcase and the first ever King Calaway show for fans. The real test of course was that at the time, the band had not yet released music nor had they played for a public audience. Normally, the NYCS team could share music or video clips and say ‘Hey, if you like this song, come to this show’… but this time that was not the case. NYCountry Swag had the confidence that the audience we have built over the past three years trusted our taste and judgment in music and in new artists and would come to the showcase unaware of what they would get to experience.

After ten days of promotions, New York Country Swag received over 500+ unique entries across all social media platforms from country music fans hoping to win their way in to our exclusive showcase event. A true testament to what we have built! We successfully filled the room at New York City’s Bowery Electric to max capacity with over 200+ people including both fans and guests from reputable outlets like Billboard, Rolling Stone, Vevo, Music Choice, TJ Martell Foundation, Nash FM and more.

From the show announcement to the night of the show, King Calaway saw a jump in socials gaining over 600+ followers. Two days after the show, King Calaway released their self-titled debut EP and received 20k+ streams in the first 24 hours.

Check out the video above for a fun look into some of the behind-the-scenes shots from the exclusive event.

Click Here for a full recap of the special night. For more information on King Calaway, please visit kingcalaway.com and be sure to follow them on Facebook, InstagramTwitter and Spotify.

Woys’ EP includes tracks written by Nashville’s top songwriters including Todd Clark, Shane McAnally, Trevor Rosen, Sara Haze, Matt Bronlewee, Jason Saenz, Justin Halpin, Bobby Campbell, and Matthew Joseph Rogers. “Last Call Weakness” is a catchy way to start things off for her EP, lyrically talking about how the ups and downs of a relationship. Following

“Last Call Weakness” is her song “Spark”, a midtempo look back on a romantic relationship and the realization that it is slowly burning out. She describes it as “the beginning of the story.” It’s all about when you know a relationship is going to go bad, but you do it anyway.  “Love Has No Heart” was originally on hold for Brett Young, but this tender heartbreak ballad that fits her voice flawlessly. Stephanie Quayle Releases New Single “If I Was A Cowboy”

Newly inducted member of CMT’s Next Women of Country, Stephanie Quayle released her much anticipated single “If I Was A Cowboy” today.  The track penned by well-known songwriters Nicolle Gaylon, Ross Copperman, and Shane McAnally.

Quayle’s “If I Was A Cowboy,” tells a story of how she is dealing with a break-up compared to how a cowboy would handle it.  Her genuine southern roots and elegant vocals reel us into the compelling heartbreak comparison with opening lyrics, “If I was a cowboy / I’d be on my second beer / not staring at my cell phone stuck in the bathroom mirror…And if I was a cowboy / I’d just throw some blue jeans on / I’d be somewhere on the dance floor / I’d already be moved on.”  As much as one would wish to be strong and resemble a cowboy’s perspective towards the break-up, Quayle admits that it is not easy.

Utter confusion and betrayal are embodied in the second verse when she sings “Cowboys say they’ll never marry / so you go and set them free / Mr. ‘I ain’t getting married’ just didn’t wanna marry me.”  Quayle’s incredible storytelling paints a picture of pure desolation with lyrics “I’m just a girl closing her tab/can’t hide her hurt under her hat” all while Cowboy’s, “they don’t wait for their heart to unbreak/they just ride away.”

After listening to this song in its entirety and understanding the difficulty of coping with a breakup, it becomes empowering for women out there and to look at the end of a relationship with the perspective of a cowboy and to be strong and move on.  It is no surprise that Quayle was recently named one of Rolling Stone Country’s Top Artists You Need To Know, and is making her mark as one of Nashville’s newest talented female singer-songwriters.  Check out her latest single “If I Was A Cowboy” below and be sure to go to www.stephaniequayle.com for upcoming shows and information!

[Listen] Jimmie Allen & Abby Anderson Duet on Cover of “Shallow”

Shallow Abby Anderson Jimmie Allen

Arguably one of the biggest songs released recently, “Shallow” from A Star Is Born, has already garnered almost 400 million streams on Spotify and 300 million views on YouTube. The song, written by Andrew Wyatt, Anthony Rossomando, Mark Ronson and Lady Gaga who also sings the track with Bradley Cooper has won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media, a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and is nominated once again on Sunday night for an Oscar for Best Original Song.

As the highly anticipated performance on the Oscars looms, two of our favorite rising country artists decided to record and cover the smash hit, putting a spin on it that is truly all their own. Available everywhere today, Jimmie Allen and Abby Anderson take on Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s roles respectively.  Allen starts the song, and from the very first notes his sultry voice pulls you in and his unique runs will have the listener ready to hit replay again and again.

Anderson’s rasp is sweet and powerful, as she hits the chorus she proves her vocal chops. They softly sing together, accompanied by a piano and a solo acoustic guitar. “Shallow” has been performed by Lady Gaga alone as well as a duet with Bradley Cooper in Las Vegas but her most recent performance on the Grammy Awards was raw and ruthless, Allen and Anderson’s version is more subtle, allowing each and every note to be heard and appreciated.

Take a listen to the track below and join us in rooting for “Shallow” to win Best Original Song this weekend at The Oscars which airs live from L.A on Sunday, Feb 24 at 8:00 PM EST.

George Strait Is Back With “God and Country Music”

George Strait

For everyone who has been waiting for the arrival of new George Strait music, the wait is now over! On Thursday night (Jan. 29th) George Strait posted a photo of the cover art for his newest single “God and Country Music” and it is now available to listen. That sweet voice you hear towards the end of the song is Strait’s 6-year-old grandson, Harvey Strait. We all know the legend is a family man and this takes it to a whole new level. Penned by Luke Laird, Barry Dean and Lori McKenna, the song is a quickly going to become another Strait classic.  The new song references past country icons and reflects on the belief that country music is one of only two things “still worth savin’.”

“There’s always lost in the found / Darkness in the ‘I Saw the Light’ / It’s still livin’ in those small towns / In some church or backroad honky-tonk tonight / It’s a dance between the sin and the salvation / Come hell or high water, there’s two things still worth savin’ / God and country music,” Strait sings.

With this new song, Strait shows that he is not leaving the classic sounds of country music. “God and Country Music” features all of the trademarks his past songs have, including the sweet sounds of an acoustic guitar. Strait first debuted “God and Country Music” live during a show in Las Vegas in December as part of his ‘Strait to Vegas’ residency along with two other new songs, “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar” and “Codigo.”

Strait has announced the upcoming release of a new studio album titled Honky Tonk Time Machine, which is slated for release on March 29th and you can find the track listing below.

  1. “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar” (George Strait, Bubba Strait, and Dean Dillon)
  2. “Two More Wishes” (Jim Lauderdale and Odie Blackmon)
  3. “Some Nights” (Bubba Strait, Brice Long and Phillip White)
  4. “God and Country Music” (with Harvey Strait) (Luke Laird, Barry Dean and Lori McKenna)

  6. “Sometimes Love” (George Strait, Bubba Strait, and Dean Dillon)
  7. “Código” (George Strait, Bubba Strait, and Dean Dillon)
