Brothers Osborne Release Video for “I Don’t Remember Me (Before You)”
Brothers Osborne have always released music videos that compliment their singles perfectly, but this most recent video may be our favorite. The touching lyrics are felt even more when watching the story they created to accompany the song “I Don’t Remember Me (Before You) off their album, Port Saint Joe. The CMA and ACM Vocal Duo of the Year performed the song on their Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon debut back in January, releasing the music video a few weeks later on Valentine’s Day.
The video was directed by Wes Edwards and Ryan Silver, who also shot the duo’s award-winning video for “It Ain’t My Fault,” as well as, the video for “Shoot Me Straight.” The video, filmed in black and white, depicts the story of a professional bull rider’s struggles, as he tries to overcome his substance abuse addiction. The raw images of the man popping pills and reminiscing about his past are truly heart wrenching and vulnerable. John and TJ Osborne delivered powerful visuals to accompany their touching lyrics.
As stated in a recent press release, this video truly did personify the lyrics. John Osborne shared, “We’re very excited to release this emotional example of someone’s life being changed by another. We’re never truly ourselves without the ones we love.” This sentiment describes the video perfectly and is an important statement for people to hear and take to heart.
Brothers Osborne will continue playing shows on their sold-out headlining tour through April. We caught them at New York City’s Terminal 5 last month. This summer the duo will hit the road with country star Chris Stapleton on his ‘All American Road Show’ tour, kicking off in July.
