ACM Nominees Announced: Dan + Shay & Chris Stapleton Lead

This morning, the nominations for the 54th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards were announced on CBS This Morning by country music icon and sixteen-time ACM Award winner, Reba McEntire. Among the nominees, rising duo Dan + Shay are tied with last year’s front-runner Chris Stapleton, leading with 6 nominations each. In addition to Dan + Shay’s nominations, Dan Smyers received 4 individual nominations as a producer and songwriter, tallying up to 10 potential awards, more than any other nominee this year.
Other top nominees include recent Grammy Award winner Kacey Musgraves with 5 nominations. While Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne, Florida Georgia Line, and Bebe Rexha all received 4 nominations each. Newcomers Lindsay Ell, Ashley McBryde, Jimmie Allen, Jordan Davis, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Michael Ray are among this year’s first-time nominees in the New Female/Male Artist of the Year categories.
