UMG Nashville’s Newest Signee, Kylie Morgan Releases “Boys Girl”
Earlier this month, Kylie Morgan signed a record deal with Universal Music Group Nashville and has now released the first single from her upcoming project, a song that she says is an autobiography of her life “Boys Girl”. The track, written with veteran and superstar songwriters Ross Copperman and Shane McAnally, perfectly describes any female who has never wanted to conform to stereotypes society thrusts upon her.
“I look better in blue jeans than dresses and lace / If you piss me off, I’ll say it to your face / When the windows are down I don’t re-fix my hair, cause I don’t really care” Morgan sings in the honest lyric. She continues with a chorus that is a punch of reality and breaks all clichés. “I’ve never been drawn to drama, and I probably won’t charm your mama / I’ll never be, Miss Tennessee, more whiskey, less pearls / No I’m nothing like your exes, more 4 wheel drive, less Lexus / I’m feminine but I’ve always been, more of a boys girl”
“I wanted the first single to completely be an introduction of who I am as an artist and as a human being,” Morgan says of picking “Boys Girl” as her first single in our recent interview. “I wanted people to hear the first song and have no question of who I was and what I wanted to accomplish.”
