Jason Aldean Announces His Nationwide ‘Ride All Night Tour’

Jason Aldean announced earlier today that his ‘Ride All Night Tour’ will kick off this May and he is bringing some heavy hitter openers along.  Carly Pearce and Kane Brown who both had major success last year will join Aldean and hit over 30 cities nationwide.  DJ Silver will also spin hits in between sets.

Aldean just celebrated his 21st number one hit with “Drowns the Whiskey” a duet with Miranda Lambert that is on his most recent album Rearview Town. New York Country Swag caught his High Noon Neon Tour last summer and are looking forward to the superstars return this Fall when the Ride All Night Tour hits Northwell Health at Jones Beach on September 6th.

Jason Aldean, Luke Combs & Lauren Alaina Play Sold-Out MSG Show

High Noon Neon Tour

Jason Aldean, the ACM Entertainer of the Year for three years running brought his High Noon Neon Tour to a sold out Madison Square Garden on Saturday night. This is the second time the country megastar has headlined the iconic venue, each time bringing energy, and screaming fans together to sing along to his massive catalog of hits.

His tourmates, Lauren Alaina and Luke Combs had the privilege of playing to packed crowds, whereas some tours the fans tailgate and trickle in slowly until the headliner, these fans were in their seats at 7:30 on the dot.  Alaina has celebrated a ton of success over the last year with her sophomore album producing her very first number one single, a duet on country radio with Kane Brown which also hit the top spot and being named ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year. Her 30-minute set was filled with emotion as she clearly understood the importance of being able to sing her music to a crowd at Madison Square Garden.

The American Idol runner-up has grown into a beautiful, strong young woman who is now writing music that had fans swaying their cell phone lights to in New York City.  Her set included her solo version of her duet with Kane Brown “What If’s”, “Next Boyfriend” and her number one single “Road Less Traveled”. Clearly emotional from the overwhelming response from the crowd, Alaina stated “I wrote a song about being a three-year-old little girl having a big dream, it’s my favorite song I’ve ever written and getting to play it for you guys here tonight is a dream come true,” before she played her inspiring song “Three”.  Closing her set by putting a New York Rangers jersey on over her sparkly dress, Alaina felt love from the crowd the moment she stepped on the stage until she stepped off.

Luke Combs High Noon Neon Tour

Another rising country artist was next up on The High Noon Neon Tour, Luke Combs took the stage and filled his 45-minute set with not only his biggest hits from his debut album but memorable covers as well.  Our team was blown away by his incredible fan base, especially in the heart of New York City. Opening his set with “Beer Never Broke My Heart” and “She Got the Best of Me” his raspy voice pleading through the latter, only to bounce back with 90’s country swag on Brooks and Dunn covers of “Honkey Tonk Highway” and “Boot Scootin’ Boogie”.  “One Number Away”, Combs’ third number one single on the Billboard Chart was met with screams and at one point, it was hard to still hear the singer over the audience’s participation.  Closing with “Hurricane” his obvious charisma and ability to write and perform already fan favorites prove he is primed and ready for absolute superstardom.

As if fans weren’t treated enough to a night of incredible music already, at 9:30PM Aldean’s band stood center stage on a platform as a neon sign rose into the air.  Seconds later the Entertainer of the Year himself sprung up from beneath the stage, kicking off the set appropriately with “Gettin’ Warmed Up”.  For fans who have been to any one of Aldean’s shows, they know he isn’t a talker, he isn’t going to sit on a stool and tell you about the first time he heard a demo of a song, but what you can expect is back to back high-energy songs for just under two hours.  Aldean does a great job of picking songs from all of his albums, going back and forth between his very first albums with songs like “Amarillo Sky” and “The Truth” to bringing the audience into his current world of “Rearview Town” and “You Make It Easy”.

Playing to the enormous sold-out crowd of twenty thousand fans, he spent his time at three different mic stands, playing his guitar and staring out into a sea of people on their feet, singing along.  Stopping only a few times between songs, he congratulated a couple who got engaged during “You Make It Easy” inviting them to the front of the stage and joking that he thinks the ballad should be their wedding song. “Somebody gets engaged you’ve gotta celebrate that don’t ya,” he said as he raised his red Solo Cup in the air.  “Here’s to you guys, may you have a long and blissful marriage and here’s to you Madison Square Garden, thank you for being here tonight.” The sentiment was enough to encourage fans to cheers their beer with the people next to them and on to the next song.

It wouldn’t be a true Aldean show if he didn’t play “Big Green Tractor”, “She’s Country” or “Crazy Town” which he saved for the end of the night, bringing just as much energy and intensity to those huge hits as he did when he first stepped on stage proving the award of Entertainer of the Year is well deserved sitting on his shelf at home.

NYCountry Swag Woman of the Month: JoJamie Hahr

JoJamie Hahr, Vice President of Marketing for BBR Music Group is our June Woman of the Month.  She is a sparkling light in this world, always encouraging women to be true to themselves and proving that the hustle and always working hard pays off.

Growing up in a tiny town outside of Orlando, Hahr recalls music always being a part of her life in one aspect or another.  She sang in chorus all throughout school, even singing in a band in high school, and somehow knew that she would end up working in the industry in some capacity. “I never thought I was going to be an artist, but I just knew I loved music.  I was really just a huge country music fan, we weren’t allowed to change the station in my dad’s truck, it was always country,” she tells us.

Graduating high school early with college credits in tow, Hahr attended the University of Central Florida, jumping right into her major courses which included public relations and advertising.  She started interning for a country music radio station in Orlando, K92 FM and learning that side of the business. “I didn’t realize at first there was a business behind the music.  I just knew I was a fan and I loved the music and the artists,” Hahr says.  “So from there I interned and went to school, I worked part-time at the radio station, 30 hours a week, and then worked two other jobs just to pay all of my bills and get through school.”  Her hustle and determination were evident early on, proving she was going to do whatever it took to make her dreams come true.

Making the move to Nashville when she was twenty-three years old, with six years of marketing and promotions already under her belt, she worked for WSIX Big 98 running their promotions department. Jimmy Harnen, the Executive Vice President of Big Machine Label Group and President of Big Machine Records, became an important mentor to Hahr early on in her career giving her some crucial advice. “I had decided I wanted to work at a record label and I wanted to be a regional promotion rep, so he told me in your spare time, you need to think about what you would do if you were a regional for a specific label, come up with ideas as if you were already in the job and then send them to the labels,” she tells us.  The fear of rejection and being told her ideas were not good enough did not stop her from sending a new idea for each major label every Friday for eight months.  This eventually landed her a job as a promotion coordinator for MCA Records.

Working hard, networking, and making connections through the industry ultimately helped her reach her goal of working alongside artists and fans at Broken Bow Records as their Vice President of Marketing. Today, she manages marketing for the four imprints that are under Broken Bow Music Group including Red Bow Records, Broken Bow Records, Stoney Creek Records, and Wheelhouse Records.  With twenty-four artists on those rosters, her days are filled with meetings and she travels quite a bit with the artists helping to promote their brand and their new music.  The labels are home to stars such as Jason Aldean, Dustin Lynch, Granger Smith, Chase Rice, Jimmie Allen, Lindsey Ell and more.

One of the most cherished parts of her job is watching an artists’ rise to fame, being there with them and their fans from the ground up. “I have become great friends with some of the loyal fans that have come out to all of our shows and knowing that the music has changed their lives,” she tells us.  “I think something I love most about my job is I might be the closest a fan will get to an artist, maybe they’ll never get to meet an artist, I just love interacting with the fans, because if it wasn’t for the fans, I wouldn’t have a job.  I wouldn’t get to do what I get to do.”

Becoming close with the fans is an important part of the job for many reasons, learning to see what makes them tick, what they want to see and hear from an artist helps to make the job of marketing run smoother. When we discuss what a day in the life of JoJamie Hahr looks like she explains she splits her career into two aspects, being on the road or being in the office. Being on the road with an artist could mean taking them on a radio tour, or working an album release week. “I think it’s funny when people think our job is glamorous, that is not a word I would ever use to describe our job, I would say fun, inspiring, cool, but glamorous it is not,” she laughs.  You can often find her relishing in her trips to New York City, a town that she loves almost as much as Nashville.  When she is in the office, her door is almost never closed, working closely with the work-family she has at BBR to help the artists’ dreams come true. This year alone, her label will have sixteen brand new records being released, something that she will have a hand in every creative aspect of.

When we discuss any lessons that she might have for young people just getting their start in this industry she imparts three exceptional pieces of advice. 1. Be Fearless. Don’t be afraid to be shot down, ignored or told you aren’t good enough, because those things will happen, but you must push passed the failure. 2. Outwork Everyone In The Room. Always be the person who is willing to stay late, you make yourself valuable with how hard you work. “If you want to be in this business you better love, sleep, eat and breathe it because there is no downtime, it’s constant,” she explains. 3.  Be Yourself. Being authentic and putting yourself out there is so important. “It’s very hard in this business to feel like you can’t be yourself, because you are going to be judged harshly.  I have found through my career especially with social media, people are going to love you or not and it’s okay if they don’t, they don’t have to like you, but the people that love you are going to stick around and they will love you for who you are.”  Being able to express yourself and find a tribe of people that accept you for you is something Hahr cherishes in her life.

“I encourage girls growing up in this business to be able to express themselves however they want because what really matters is how hard you work, how kind you are to people, how honest you are and not about what you are wearing or how you portray yourself.”

NYCS First Impression: Jason Aldean Releases “Rearview Town”

Jason Aldean‘s eighth studio album Rearview Town is available today and highlights his signature sound and ability to translate music on his albums into his iconic live performances. Heavy on the electric guitar and primed for Aldean’s band to jam to during his performance, many of the songs are uptempo and showcase his mix of country and rock. “Every song I cut, I think about that,” he said at a recent press event promoting the album. “My live shows are such an important selling tool for the record for me – I’m constantly listening for things that are going to translate live.

After listening to over a hundred songs, Aldean narrowed it down to just fifteen that he felt created his next concise record. The debut single off the project, “You Make It Easy” is currently sitting in the top 5 on the country charts and showcases Aldean at his best, smooth, loving yet meaningful in his delivery and was written by Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, along with Morgan Wallen and Jordan Schmidt.

“Better At Being Who I Am” and “Drowns the Whiskey” are standouts, slowing things down, complemented by the slide guitar and sentimental lyrics. Miranda Lambert is featured on the latter, and Aldean discussed collaborating with the songstress on #JustAMinute with Bucks Stevens for B104. ” I’ve always been a big fan of her voice and her style and everything,” he explained.

Heading back to his “Dirt Road Anthem” days, Aldean raps at the end of “Gettin’ Warmed Up”.  The track would make for the perfect set opener on his next tour.  This summer, Aldean will support Rearview Town by hitting 34 tour stops on the  2018 High Noon Neon Tour. Luke Combs and Lauren Alaina will be Aldean’s special guests on the tour which hits Madison Square Garden on August 11th.

With the album dropping today and being nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year at the 53rd ACM Awards, Sunday night, this could shape up to be quite the weekend for Aldean.  Spotify Premium members can stream the full record today, or purchase your copy on iTunes here.

NYCountry Swag Team Heading to Nashville for CRS Week



Next Week, the New York Country Swag team heads to Nashville to take part in Country Radio Seminar (CRS).  CRS is an annual three-day convention where country music and the radio industry gather to exchange ideas, set trends, introduce brands, launch artists and make decisions that affect every aspect of the genre’s future.   The seminar includes new music from rising artists as well as some of the most established artists in the business.

This year Dierks Bentley, CRS 2018 Artist Humanitarian of the Year will be a featured speaker as well as a Q&A session with Brad Paisley during the “Art and the Artist Conversation”.   The Amazon Music & CRS Monday Night Showcase will feature Jimmie Allen, Jordan Davis, and Jason Aldean.

Just announced, the UMG Lunch, taking place at The Ryman, will feature Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Chris Stapleton, Little Big Town, Vince Gill, Kip Moore, Maddie & Tae, Brothers Osborne, Darius Rucker Jon Pardi and more.

The New Faces Show which takes place Wednesday night to close out the seminar will include Lauren Alaina, Midland, Carly Pearce, Luke Combs and Michael Ray. The show is sponsored by the Academy of Country Music and St. Jude Children’s Hospital and will include performances by each of the five artists.

Save-the-Dates: Major Country Music Tour Announcements…

Over the past few days, some of our favorite country acts have announced their 2018 tours and they are all heading to the metro area!

First up, Lady Antebellum announced they will be co-headlining with Darius Rucker and bringing Russell Dickerson on the road.  The “Summer Plays On Tour” will stop at PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey on August 3rd and Northwell Jones Beach Theater on August 4th.  Tickets and more info available at
