Blanco Brown: ‘Heartache & Lemonade’ – EP Review

Blanco Brown releases his new EP, Heartache & Lemonade EP, out now, April 5th on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new project here.

The viral dance craze, “The Git Up,” put Atlanta native, Blanco Brown on the map in 2019. Fast forward five years, and fans finally have a follow-up to the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter’s debut album. The single “Sunshine Shine,” was released back in February. It’s ear-catching blend of playful melodies and good vibes are reminiscent of his number one single.

Brown branches out from his winning formula on the remaining three tracks with romance being the major theme. In the short opener, the singer is conflicted about what caused his most recent breakup and how he feels about it. “Tailgating In The Sun” and “As Good As It Gets” are love ballads.  In the latter, there is a dramatic build-up as the chorus comes in; the singer expresses how much fun life is with his woman. In the bridge, Brown channels in his inner rock star, screeching the final word in front of an electric guitar. While “Tailgating In The Sun” sounds like another party anthem, it’s a mellow tune about how love prevails over everything. He speak-raps the final line:

“Yeah, I remember those summer days // It seemed like I could never get away // I thought I knew what love was // but now I understand what it means // To love even when you’re at the lowest”

Through Heartache and Lemonade, Blanco Brown reaffirms his reputation as a boundary-breaking artist. His ability to seamlessly blend genres enables him to craft a distinctive sound that makes listeners want to dance, cry, love, and everything in between.

“This EP feels a bit different for me,” Brown said in a recent press release. “I’ve now traveled the world, looked death in the eyes and somehow made it back alive. Bitter moments never lasted, sweeter moments brought me back to purpose…Heartache & Lemonade brings about a new chapter. Try turning some of your worst moments into a smile every once in a while.”

However, Brown delivers a rendition unlike any we have ever heard before. Bringing a more modern flair to the song, the singer shows off his effortless vocals, while keeling with the honesty that the song portrays.

Blanco Brown Drops New Love Song “I’ll Never”

Blanco Brown’s brand new song, “I’ll Never” is out now, January 13th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.

Nashville hitmaker and GRAMMY-nominated artist, Blanco Brown is a one-of-a-kind talent in the industry. Blanco Brown has certainly covered all spectrums of music throughout his country career. From the viral, number one dance hit, “The Git Up” to country trap collaborations with Nelly, the innovative singer-songwriter from Atlanta showcases a more vulnerable side with his brand new song “I’ll Never.”

The track is an incredible love song that will keep you swooning day after day. “’I’ll Never’ is about loving someone the way they need to be loved because everyone needs and deserves love in different ways,” Brown said in a recent press release. “Even if it means looking in the mirror and learning to love yourself just a little bit more.”

Written by Brown with Keith Justice and Allen Arthur, “I’ll Never” is quite possibly the wedding song of the year. Much like songs like Ashley Cooke and Brett Young’s “Never ‘Til Now,” “I’ll Never” feels like a warm hug. It is an emotional expression of love of all magnitudes, reminding us all that love is the universal connector. The lyrics center on a romance between two people and reminds listeners that love is one of the most beautiful and unique aspects of life. Brown’s stunning vocals mixed with backing steel guitar complete this beautiful country ballad.

“I’ll never stop loving you, holding you, kissing all on you  // I’ll never stop being me, doing all the things that I do // Even when I’m not around // You at least know a thing or two, // I’ll never stop, loving you, loving you”

This track follows Blanco’s latest releases of “Trap Still Bumpin’” with famed rapper T.I. and the funky “Let It
Slide” with the multi-platinum selling LOCASH and the beloved multi-faceted talent of the late Leslie Jordan.

Leslie Jordan, Blanco Brown, and LOCASH: “Let It Slide”

Leslie Jordan, Blanco Brown, and LOCASH collaborate on Leslie Jordan’s song idea, “Let It Slide,” out now on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand-new collaboration below.

The world was devastated to hear about the passing of beloved talent and personality, Leslie Jordan nearly two weeks ago at the young age of 67. Known for his roles on screen and stage including “Will & Grace,” “The Cool Kids”, “American Horror Story,” and “Sordid Lives,” among others, he was just beginning his career as a singer, releasing a country/gospel album last year titled “Company’s Comin’” featuring artists such as Chris Stapleton, Dolly Parton, and Brandi Carlile. Today, we celebrate the release of his new track, his last gift to fans, “Let It Slide” with LOCASH and Blanco Brown.

Move over “Cha-Cha Slide.” This fun, pop-country tune is all about throwing your worries away and enjoying the moment. Lyrically, it’s simple and silly, and its funky rhythm mixed with the artist’s banter in between verses makes an amusing song perfect for a night at a honky-tonk.

“Let it slide to the left, slide to the right // Let it roll right off of your back, to your backside, get electrified // Let it roll right into your hips, shake it off like a Polaroid pic // Let it slide, slide, slippety slide // Kiss your blues bye-bye”

This song is right up Brown’s alley, who initially gained publicity with his 2019 hit, “The Git-Up.” This track fits LOCASH’s persona as well, known for tailgate hits such as “One Big Country Song” and “I Love This Life.”

Nelly Collaborates with Blanco Brown and Breland on “High Horse”

Superstar Nelly collaborates with Blanco Brown and Breland on their new song “High Horse,” out now.  Take a look below as we dig into the song.

Multi-platinum-selling superstar Nelly has dipped his toes into the country world a few times over the years. Now, the rapper is solidifying his staying power in the genre officially releasing a country-inspired album Heartland, due out on August 27th. Last week, Nelly released the second song off the project, “High Horse,” featuring Blanco Brown and Breland.

Full of country twang and vocals, “High Horse” is another funky collaboration. Similar to Nelly’s collab with Florida Georgia Line, “Lil Bit.” The three artists are proving that genre lines do not need to be so solid. Brown, Breland, and Nelly combine all their unique talents and voices in a song that is truly a genre of its own.

“Get up off that high horse // Get up off of this train // Get up off of that high horse // And drop that thing on me // Get up off of that high horse // Get up off of this train // Get up off of that high horse // And drop that thing on me”

Nelly has had crossover success in the country genre since 2004 with Tim McGraw on “Over and Over” He is in a league of his own. It is encouraging to see him take other promising artists under his wing. Blanco Brown and Breland are both rising stars in their own right!

Blanco Brown Releases New Song “Nobody’s More Country”

Blanco Brown released a brand new song, “Nobody’s More Country” available now, June 18th, on all streaming platforms. Check out the brand new track below.

Finally, Blanco Brown returns with another incredible creation. After a scary accident in 2020, the singer-songwriter is back with a restored lease on life. His brand new song “Nobody’s More Country” is everything we hoped it would be.

The new song is a certified bop. It is catchy, effortless, and unifying, all mixed together. Written by Brown with Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, Jordan Schmidt, and Quintin Amey, “Nobody’s More Country” is a song that showcases the singer’s Georgia roots, groovy beats, and his vast life experience. On the track, Brown shares everything he loves about his home state. He also mentions places that country music has allowed him to travel to. Ultimately, he comes to the conclusion that there is “no place like home.”

“I’ve been back and forth from here to Georgia // Carolina to California // Across the hills of middle Tennessee // I’ve been mountain high in Colorado // Seen some things but one thing I know // No one loves the country more than me”

“I’ve been all around the world and have seen people of all ages, nationalities, and backgrounds uniting over their love of Country music—the music ties us together,” shared Brown in a recent press release. “It’s the sound of home, it’s the sound of my Georgia heart. It’s hard to imagine anybody loving it more than me.”

We could not agree more! We’re happy to see Brown blazing the trail for equality, acceptance, and love in country music. It doesn’t hurt that the new song is so fun too.

Blanco Brown Parmalee

Good friends Parmelee and Blanco Brown just released their song “Just The Way”, which they first performed on Sunday Night Football this week. It’s a song that is perfect for your weekend playlist, especially if you are having a bad day and need a confidence boost.

Written by Matt Thomas, Kevin Bard, and Nolan Sipe, “Just the Way” is an upbeat song that encourages accepting and loving people for just the way they are, including their imperfections. Living in a world of social media, many people feel the pressure of having to live a perfect life. Posting the ideal picture, showing off their perfect relationship.
