Our ‘I Love New York’ Series features artists in the country music community taking over our Instagram Story each week to give us the Top 5 Things they love most about New York City.
This week, singer-songwriter Lindsay Ell took over to give her Top 5 Picks in the personalized videos here on Instagram Highlights plus a rundown below. Ell just released her highly-anticipated sophomore album heart theory, an incredibly personal 12-track concept album that explores the seven stages of grief. Check out our full First Impression Review of the project here.
Lindsay Ell’s Top 5 ‘I Love New York’ Picks:
#5 – Nails
Lindsay Ell kicks off her Top 5 Picks with the getting your nails done at any time, any day. “You can get your nails done anywhere in New York City. There’s pretty much a spot on every single corner. Everywhere is open late, it’s the city that never sleeps,” she says.
#4 – FOOD!
Next up, Ell shouts out the food in New York City! “I love a good Milk Bar Store cake. It’s so good, but even just the pizza, the hot dogs, the street meat, it’s all so good.”
#3 – The Venues
The venues all over New York City take Ell’s # 3 spot. “New York City is home to some of my favorite music venues on the planet, Webster Hall, The Apollo Theater, Radio City Music Hall and of course, Madison Square Garden,” Ell adds.
#2 – Christmas in New York
In her number 2 spot, Lindsay Ell includes Christmas in New York City in her Top 5 picks. “My favorite time to visit New York City is during Christmas. All of the decorations are so beautiful, of course, the tree, the windows at Macy’s… I literally could just walk around.”
#1 – Central Park
Ell’s #1 Pick for her Top 5 Things she loves about NYC in our ‘I Love New York’ Series is: Central Park! Ell says, “It’s so beautiful. It always baffles my mind how the city can sound like that (car drives by), and then you can walk into Central Park and it just all goes away, it’s like silence!”
