5 Luke Bryan Songs That Should Have Been Singles

In his incredible career, Luke Bryan has certified himself as a superstar. With a killer catalog of songs to choose from, we are sharing our favorites that did not quite make it to country radio.

With 31 singles from seven albums, the superstar has generated 25 number one hits over his 15+ year career in Nashville. This included a run of eighteen-straight hits from 2011-2018.

Here are 5 Luke Bryan songs that should have been singles…

  1. “Been There, Done That” – Tailgates & Tanlines

This catchy song from his third studio album, written by Bryan and Rachel Thibodeau, is about a relationship that constantly has its breakups and breakthroughs. Bryan’s counterpart continuously calls him with the intent of getting back together. He, on the other hand, has learned that you cannot force a relationship and he is tired of trying to make it work.

  1. “Beer in the Headlights” – Crash My Party

Almost every song on Bryan’s fourth studio album could have had success at radio; it was certified Platinum and was the third best-selling album of 2013 all-genre. This fun, up-tempo tune checks off all the boxes of a 2013 radio hit, but with all five singles topping the charts, Bryan switched gears to move onto his next project and “Beer in the Headlights” was never given its chance.

  1. “Just Over” – Kill the Lights

After another fight with his girlfriend, the singer just assumes that they will make up again, just like the past. This time, however, she wanted to officially end the relationship. Its catchy chorus is perfect for country radio, but with six other singles on his fifth studio album, it was time for Bryan to move onto the next record.

  1. “Hooked On It” – What Makes You Country

There are a lot of fun songs on Bryan’s sixth studio album, but “Hooked On It” defines the theme of the project the best. With heavy electric guitar and supporting banjo, this tune perfectly paints the image of southern life. The album’s fourth single, which served as the title track, ending Bryan’s run at eighteen-straight number ones, which may have been a reason to move on from this record.

  1. “For A Boat”— Born Here, Live Here, Die Here

“For a Boat” is a sweet song about loving what you have and not what you don’t. The man in the song recalls learning all of life’s most important lessons fishing on a bank, instead of on a boat. Growing up “too broke for a boat” taught him the value of money, patience, family, and much more. Four of the ten songs on Bryan’s latest record topped the country radio chart, and two more singles were sent to radio after he released the deluxe edition the next year. Unfortunately, there was no room for this song to become a single.

Jordan Rowe Releases New Song “5:00 In The Country”

Jordan Rowe releases new song, “5:00 In The Country,” out now, July 29th on all streaming platforms. Listen  to the brand new track below.

Almost a year after releasing his debut album, Bad Case of the Good Ole Boy, Jordan Rowe is back with new music, “5:00 In The Country”.

This is the perfect song to turn on after a hard week of work. It reminds you that no matter the type of week you’ve had, the weekend is the time to put in the past and enjoy doing the things you love.

Written by Rowe, Hunter Phelps, and Driver Williams, this song will not only have you up and dancing but will also take you to church. Accompanied by an actual choir, the vocalists join the singer-songwriter during the uplifting chorus.  As they emphasize the word up, you’ll automatically feel as if you are joining them at their Sunday worship.

“Get up, everybody from the hill to the holler //  Fill up the gas tank and a cooler full of swollers // Pull up to the party with ya clean truck muddy // Stop, pop a top it’s 5 o’clock in the country”

Being part of a choir is nothing new to Rowe. The South Georgia native grew up singing in his hometown choir which started his love of performing. We love that he is sticking to his roots and continues to incorporate his faith into his music.

Already sharing the stage with award-winning artists including Luke Combs, Rowe is gearing up for his own headlining tour in the South later this year. We can’t wait to continue to watch his career develop!

Brett Sheroky Shares Touching New Track “Life Ain’t Always Pretty”

Brett Sheroky shares new track, “Life Ain’t Always Pretty” out now, July 29th on all streaming platforms. Listen  to the brand new song below.

Every time Brett Sheroky releases new music, we are always so excited to share it. Time and time again, Sheroky creates songs that speak to real-life stories, emotions, and experiences. His latest release, “Life Ain’t Always Pretty” is a prefect example of that.

The heartfelt ballad expresses the duality that life is all about. Even in the darkest times, there is light and even in the light, there is hard times and grief to deal with. The song is full of one-liners that will make you reevaluate your thoughts on life. We so often as humans forget to be grateful for the good moments and lean on the ones we love in the tougher ones. As always, Sheroky is sharing his truth with his growing fanbase.

“It’s the crying out your eyes around a casket, when you can’t get someone back // But it’s the thought about how good it was when they were here that makes it hurt so bad // It’s the baby that won’t sleep // It’s driving you insane // Them smiling, chubby cheeks, makes it all okay // Life ain’t always pretty // It’s something else sometimes // But it’s the good and bad and living that makes you feel alive”

Sheroky’s new song, “Life Ain’t Always Pretty” is a songwriting dream. Every lyric is important and impactful. It is one of those country songs that every fan needs to listen to at least once.

Brooke Eden: ‘Choosing You’ – EP Review

Brooke Eden releases her new EP, Choosing You, out now, July 29th on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new project below and check out our full review.

Rising country artist, Brooke Eden creates music that speaks to her personal experience, while still maintaining relatability to the masses. Her music is meant for people who want to feel something. The deep connection she feels for her music is evident across her musical catalog. Today, the singer-songwriter shares her EP, Choosing You, out now.

The record houses five incredible tracks, all co-written by Eden. “Knock” starts off the project. The song is as real as it gets. Eden takes the role of a supportive friend or a big sister on this track. She is telling a girl to stop letting a lover treat her poorly. At the same time, she is reminding us all of the sobering lessons that we do not have to accept love from someone that does not deserve us.

“Left You For Me” is the next song on the record. The previously released tune is all about radical honesty and self-love. It is about trusting your gut, honoring what’s right for you, and abandoning anything not meant for you. The single is a solid reminder to build a life we love.

“I guess I accidentally // Went and wrapped my whole damn wrong around ya // Holding on until one day I was looking in the mirror at someone I don’t want to be // Can’t you see you I didn’t leave you for somebody else // I left you for me”

The record continues with the next two songs on the project, “Comeback Love” and “Heartless.” The former is a pop-inspired track that boasts a catchy melody and memorable lyrics. On the other hand, “Heartless” taps into the quieter and more vulnerable side of the songstress. The track seems to draw inspiration from sensual jazz-like songs. It shares the struggles we often go through in love.

Choosing You ends with one last song, “Off The Ground.” Quite possibly our favorite off the EP, the song combines the vulnerability and the confidence that we have come to expect from an Eden song.

Overall, the EP is exactly what we wanted from the talented singer-songwriter. We believe, she has secured her staying power in country music with this killer project.

Choosing You EP Tracklist:

  1. “Knock” (Brooke Eden, Steph Jones, Jesse Frasure)
  2. “Left You For Me” (Brooke Eden, Kyle Schlienger, Jon Stone)
  3. “Comeback Love” (Brooke Eden, Jesse Frasure, Sarah Buxton)
  4. “Heartless” (Brooke Eden, Connie Harrington, Lindsay Rimes)
  5. “Off The Ground” (Brooke Eden, Cary Barlowe, Jesse Frasure, Brandon Day, Alysa Vanderheym)

Chase Rice Shares New Single “Key West & Colorado”

Chase Rice shares new single, “Key West & Colorado,” out now, July 29th on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.

If you attended the second half of Kane Brown’s Blessed and Free Tour in the winter and got there early for Chase Rice’s set, it’s likely you heard the then-unreleased song, “Key West & Colorado.” Played acoustically live, Rice sang about his journey of getting over a past love. The singer drove around the country and learned a lot about life from the people he met and the places he visited. After stops in Texas, Minnesota, and Boston, he discovered solace on the road somewhere between the beaches of Florida and the mountains of Colorado.

“Somewhere between that sand and the snow // Salt in the air, and salt on the road // Finally let myself let her go // Somewhere between Key West and Colorado”

The studio version adds percussion and light, synthesized guitar melodies that peacefully bring the listener to the beach. The new sound doesn’t distract us from his vocals, blending beautifully with the sobering lyrics. This is Rice’s first new release since “If I Were Rock & Roll” last October. The artwork on both singles share a similar style—the old-timey photographs may hint at the overall theme of the next album.

Brenna Bone Drops New Song “I Don’t Deserve You”

Brenna Bone’s new song, “I Don’t Deserve You,” is out now, July 29th on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.

We introduced you to singer-songwriter, Brenna Bone back in November. Upon discovering her music, we instantly fell in love with her fiery personality and her relatable lyrics. Her heartfelt song, “Break This Habit” had us reeling, while her new song, “I Don’t Deserve You” is an absolute confidence anthem.

At first glance, listeners may think that this song is about not being good enough for a love interest, but Bone flips that notion on its head. The jamming new song is actually about how you deserve to be treated with respect and love in a relationship. Bone sings about all the stupid things an ex does that she certainly does not deserve in a relationship. It is clear she is done being treated poorly. It is all about knowing your worth!

“A girl deserves to be her man’s one and only // Not just a number he calls when he’s lonely // And I guess if there’s anything that you’d shown me // It’s that, I don’t deserve you // Coming in at two // after doing what you do when I ain’t around”

The upbeat anthem is exactly what we needed heading into the second half of summer. It is no wonder that her fans on social media begged Bone to release it when she shared the demo.

Kane Brown Drops New Song “Grand” Ahead of Next Album

Kane brown’s latest single “Grand”, out now, July 22nd, marks the fifth release off his upcoming 17-track album Different Man coming September 9th. Listen to the new track and get all the information below.

Kane Brown has released hit after hit so far this year. With his current single “Like I Love Country Music” climbing the charts, following “Leave You Alone” and “Whiskey Sour”, his latest release, “Grand”, is sure to follow in their success. Each of these, along with recent No. 1, “One Mississippi”, will be a part of Brown’s upcoming album Different Man set to release September 9th.

Written by Brown, Kameron Alexander, and Mike Posner, and produced by Andrew Goldstein, “Grand” stands out as the first of its kind in Brown’s music catalog. It shows his musical range and his unwillingness to have his music defined by one genre or style. “Grand” sitting alongside his other current singles is already proving just how eclectic this 17-track project will be, and we still have 12 more tracks to hear.

“Grand” is a simple ode of gratitude to the life he has, and a thanks to his family, friends, and fans for making it possible. It’s about living the life he’s always dreamed of, and wanting it to stay this way until the very end.

“Ain’t life grand // Only ones I keep around me is my fam // No coincidence, it’s always been the plan // And I always keep it trilly with the fans // Oh, ain’t life grand // And I love a little whiskey in my hand // Make it disappear then reappear again // Matter fact I never want this life to end until the end”
