Ingrid Andress and Sam Hunt Collaborate on New Song “Wishful Drinking”

Ingrid Andress teamed up with Sam Hunt for a powerful new duet titled “Wishful Drinking.” The new song is available now, August 2nd, on all streaming platforms. Take a look Listen below as we dig deeper into the track.

For a COVID-stricken year, Hunt and Andress are coming off impressive 2020s. Hunt released his highly anticipated sophomore album Southside, which debuted at number one on the Hot Country Albums Chart and produced four number-one singles. Andress released her debut album Lady Like, which peaked at number nine on the same charts. Andress also picked up three nominations at the latest GRAMMY Awards. The two combined their star power and recent success to create a large buzz around this new “sad bop.”

“Maybe I’m just wishful drinking // Give my heart something to sink in // Better make it two, nothing I won’t do for another round of me and you // I get hopeful whеn I’m tipsy // Thinking you might actually miss me // It’s 100 proof, nothing I won’t do for another round of me and you”

‘Wishful drinking’ is a fun play-on-words, as the two singers start feeling optimistic when they begin tipping them back, hoping that the other is missing them as well. Andress takes the first verse and chorus, Hunt takes the second, and then their harmonies shine throughout the rest of the song. The two are known for blending genres and sometimes hugging the line between country and pop, and this track is no different. Their beautiful vocals mixed with this mid-tempo, snap track beat and subtle banjo strums layered in have listeners really feeling for these fictional ‘wishful drinkers.’

Andress is hitting the road this fall, supporting Dan + Shay on the Arena Tour and headlining her very own Feeling Things Tour. For tickets, head to her website.

Dan + Shay’s new song”Lying” is available on all streaming platforms now, July 30th. The song comes just a few weeks before their highly anticipated album, Good Things, out 8/13. Learn more about the new track below.

Right behind the release of their latest single “Good Things”, the title track off their forthcoming album (August 13th), Dan + Shay have just released another new track “Lying”. The duo dropped a music video with the release of the song, which includes a dance that fans can learn and dance along to!

With an upbeat sound and some play on words, “Lying” is a feel-good break-up song. They’re ready to have a good time, and they’re not lying when they say that they don’t miss them. The music video shows just how much fun they’re having without them.

Dylan Schneider Releases New Song “Lost In A Small Town”

Dylan Schneider’s new song “Lost in a Small Town” is available everywhere today (7/30). Take a look below as we dig into the song.

Dylan Schneider just signed a new record deal with Broken Bow Records and today he put out his first song with the label, “Lost In A Small Town”.

At only 21 years old, Schnieder already has four EPs under his belt, popular songs like “How Does It Sound” (2017) and “How to Country” (2019), and has opened shows for Florida Georgia Line and performed with Brett Eldredge. Although it has been two years since Schneider released new music, his Whole Town Talk EP, he is continuing to grow as a country music namestay and will continue to do so with his latest release “Lost In A Small Town”, available everywhere now.

“Lost In A Small Town” is about missing that person that you used to run around your small town with. Even in the place where you grew up and that you know like the back of your hand, you feel lost because the one that you’re supposed to be there with isn’t there anymore. Your memories together are forever tied to all the places there, and now they just don’t feel the same without them.

“How am I Lost In A Small Town // Rolling up and down these roads that I grew up on // You can say it’s all these memories // what we used to be, keeping me from moving on

Mickey Guyton Releases Title Track “Remember Her Name” Ahead of Upcoming Album

Mickey Guyton’s new song, “Remember Her Name” is out now, July 30th, on all streaming platforms. The number serves as the title track to her upcoming album due out September 24th. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new tune.

Mickey Guyton is one of the most prolific artists in the country music genre right now. Poised, talented, and incredibly insightful, Guyton creates music that is straight from the heart. Ahead of her upcoming album, the songstress released the title track “Remember Her Name,” out now.

The song is the opening track off the new record. It is the ultimate reminder to people to remember who you are. It is an anthem for the lonely, the lost, and the persistent. According to Guyton, “‘Remember Her Name’ is a song for anyone who ever felt less than, forgotten, or up against obstacles. I hope this song is a reminder of the importance of self-worth and the power of persistence and perseverance.”

“Where did you lose the girl with no fear // Oh she never left // take a good look she’s right in the mirror // Don’t let yourself forget // Remember the fire // Remember the face // She felt the storm and danced out in the pouring rain // Remember her laughing // Through all the pain // Remember the girl that didn’t let anything get in her way // Remember her name”

Guyton embodies all of these characteristics as both a human and an artist. The track is relatable and powerful all at the same time. If this is any inclination of what the singer-songwriter has in store for fans, we are all in for a real treat with the full album.

Danielle Bradbery Debuts New Song “Stop Draggin’ Your Boots”

Danielle Bradbery’s new song “Stop Draggin’ Your Boots” is available now, July 30th, on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new song.

Just a few days after her birthday, Danielle Bradbery is gifting a new song to fans, marking her first new track since “Girls In My Hometown.” Today, the songstress debuts her new song “Stop Draggin’ Your Boots.”

The mid-tempo track is one that highlights Bradbery’s talent perfectly. The lyrics convey a girl who is telling a wishy-washy boy that he needs to make a decision. Confident and self-assured, the singer is the perfect advocate for a person who is dealing with a relationship, where a person is dragging their feet. Of course, interchanging the word “feet” for “boots” is a genius way to bring country meets pop-country tune.

“Sometimes you’re in, sometimes you’re out // Sometimes a girl gotta put a foot down // Stop draggin’ you boots // Up under my porch // Kicking mud off your heels // Knocking on my door // Thinking I’ll let you leave them by my bed on the floor // You ain’t gonna crash your party here no more // You better get to walking if you don’t love what you got // Either love me or not // Just stop draggin’ your boots”

We love seeing women in country music stake their claim and stand in their power. Bradbery does just that with her new song! “Stop Draggin’ Your Boots” is one of our favorite songs from the singer yet.

Michael Ray Releases New Song “Just The Way I Am” Ahead of EP

Michael Ray’s new song “Just The Way I Am” is available now, July 30th, on all streaming platforms. Learn more about the track below.

Following the release of his most recent single “Picture” in May of this year, Michael Ray is back with another brand new song, “Just The Way I Am”. With the deliverance of the track comes the news of a forthcoming EP from the singer-songwriter titled Higher Education, due out August 27th.

Michael Ray first made waves in the country music world with the release of his self-titled debut album in 2015. The introductory project included breakout songs like “Kiss You in the Morning”, “Think a Little Less”, and “Real Men Love Jesus”. Then, in 2018, his sophomore album, Amos, included another trio of hits with “One That Got Away”, “Her World or Mine”, and “Get to You”. Now, with more recent and frequent music that also happens to be his most true and personal music to date, Ray is ready for an EP release, and fans are eager for it.

“Just the Way I Am” is a song about staying true to who you are. In the words of Ray, he says that this song is about “Being unapologetically just who you are, how God made you, because God only made one of you, so just keep being just the way you are.”

When he announced the release of the song, Ray shared that “this song really feels autobiographical to me. It touches on the good parts of people while still acknowledging that they have faults and flaws, myself included. I hope that when you guys hear it, you understand more about me… and maybe you can even relate to it too”.

Ray also dropped the music video for “Just the Way I am”. Filmed in his hometown of Eustis, Florida, the video stars the people and community that helped make him the way he is.

Parmalee: ‘For You’ – Album Review

Parmalee’s highly anticipated album For You, out today, July 30, featuring thirteen brand new tracks. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.

Fans have been awaiting platinum-selling country band, Parmalee’s next full-length project, since the release of their number one single with Blanco Brown “Just The Way.” Today, Parmalee officially released their brand new album For You, featuring thirteen great tracks.

Pushing the boundaries of country music, Parmalee manages to infuse southern storytelling with pop hooks and urban influences throughout the project. The record kicks off with the ultimate love song “Only You.” A ballad, the track will make any listener swoon with romance.

“I love the way your accent comes out when you’re talking to your mama // how you act like you don’t know you’re hot in your pajamas // and the way that you kiss me when I’m drinking whiskey with you // I love the way that we take it downtown on Fridays // easy on them Sundays”

Romance is a clear trend on the new record. Similar to “Only You,” Parmalee wears their hearts on their sleeves on songs like “Take My Name” and “Backroad Girl.” The former is all about finding the one and wanting to wife them up. The latter is a fun-loving country song. It definitely has radio appeal. “I Do” also showcases that romantic element, but with more urban influences. Parmalee tries to win over a girl on the sweet track.

“Just The Way”, featuring one of our current favorites, Blanco Brown, sits in the second spot on the track-list. The song found its way to the number one spot on the charts back in March and for good reason. Written by Matt Thomas, Kevin Bard, and Nolan Sipe, “Just The Way” is a song that encourages acceptance and loving people for who they are.”

Similarly, “Greatest Hits” is another song that boasts equality amongst the music industry. The country band sings about how we as people collect music over the course of life. Written as a love song, the real story is the love song to music as the soundtrack to our lives.

“Falling in love to your mixtape // Got your country from your hometown // Hip-hop from your college crowd // and rock and roll from your daddy’s old 45s // Got your Motown from your mama’s soul //Makes me want to hold you close”

Parmalee also leans into how it feels to lose the one you love on vulnerable songs, “Miss You Now,” and “Forget You.” “Miss You Now” tells the story of a broken relationship, recounting all those moments you wish you could relive or redo. The song is painful, yet relatable. “Forget You,” featuring Avery Anna is equally as thought-provoking. The song depicts how it feels to be in the furrows of heartbreak in a raw and emotive way.

Finally, the band makes the transition from raw emotion to fun and live-show-ready songs with the last two tracks on the record, “I’ll Take The Chevy” and the title track “For You.” Though slower-paced, “For You” is the ‘thank you’ letter to fans camouflaged as a love song. It is the perfect song to end the album with.

“We feel most authentic and our best as a band when we feel like we’re having a conversation with the audience. That’s what we really narrowed in on for this album and leaned into what makes Parmalee sound like Parmalee—it’s all based on our connection to the fans,” said the band’s Matt Thomas in a recent press release. “For You is an album for the fans — the ones who’ve supported us for years, and the new ones we’re getting to know every day.”

It is safe to say that Parmalee accomplished their goal with this record. Each song feels distinctively them and comes with its own unique flavor. Kudos to Parmalee for their record!

Ryan Hurd Releases Brand New Dreamy Single “Coast”

Ryan Hurd’s new song “Coast” is available now, July 30th on all streaming platforms. Listen and learn more about the track below.

Ryan Hurd has clearly been soaking up life with his wife Maren Morris and their beautiful baby son. Hurd collaborated earlier this year with Morris on their highly-anticipated duet “Chasing After You.” Today the singer released his first solo track of 2021 that seems to draw inspiration from his incredible relationship. His new single “Coast” is officially out now.

Hurd is a creator that is all about his artistry. Despite the direction country music might be sounding like now or the direction fans are gravitating towards, the singer always manages to release songs that are captivating, special, and distinctively his own. His new song “Coast” fits the bill. The song is dreamy and romantic with imagery that almost immediately clouds your brain as the listener.

“We can slow dance in the full moon // Sleep in this cabana if you want to // Red, red, wine, baby I just want you // and I don’t need nothing as long as I got you // Lay down on the west one, under the red sun // You and the sand getting hotter // Make our own palazzo // Michigan, Chicago // Dip our toes in the water // One wave at a time”

“Coast” is both lyrically and sonically enticing. Throughout the track, Hurd name-drops other great songs, such as Bob Marley’s “Red, Red Wine” and “No Woman, No Cry,” as well as other songs. The songwriting is prolific, just like anything Hurd plays a role in crafting.  Ryan Hurd’s new single “Coast” is definitely worth a listen!

Parker-Mccolum-new-album

Parker McCollum: ‘Gold Chain Cowboy’ – Album Review

Parker McCollum’s new album Gold Chain Cowboy, out now July 30th, serves as his major-label full album debut. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the 10-track project.

McCollum opens the album with the upbeat number “Wait Outside” written by McCollum, Jon Randall (who produced it), and Randy Rodgers. While identifiably country, there are hints of alternative rock in the production and McCollum’s vocal delivery.

The second track is “Dallas” – a heartfelt country-rock moment featuring fellow Texan Danielle Bradberry. Her harmony is sweet and subtle, and the use of organs in the song is very compelling.

To Be Loved By You” is McCollum’s current single to country radio, and to put it quite simply, something about the song truly makes it absolutely addicting. “Hell, maybe I’m right, maybe I’m wrong // Finding out why shouldn’t take this long // Easier said than done, I guess // I’m a little bit harder to love than the rest”. The lyrics fall off the tongue so effortlessly, even if a little bit angry and pleading – it makes you want to listen to the song again and again.

What Parker McCollum does best on Gold Chain Cowboy is refrain from sounding like everyone else on country radio. On the record, there are moments intense enough to remind one of Death Cab for Cutie; lyrics as evocative as Jason Isbell; and phrasing as existential as John Mayer.

“I want to have Luke Bryan success, singing Chris Knight-caliber songs,” he shares in a press release. “To have longevity, you can’t sacrifice integrity to get on the radio. People know the difference, look at Willie, look at Strait. I knew I could do Texas and never leave, or come to Nashville and do the pop-country thing. My goal is to ride the middle.”

You hear all of that on a song like “Falling Apart”, which lives in the middle of the album. A Miranda Lambert co-write, you can hear they are songwriters from Texas who also love their 80s music. For fans of Mayer’s recent album Sob Rock, this is a must-listen.

“Heart Like Mine” is a standout, with a rhythm that is classically Americana and lyrics that leave you aching. The drums are soft, and the harmonies add just the right amount of depth that is needed.

“With ‘Heart Like Mine,’ I’d had that first verse for four years”, McCollum says. “I’d been saving it, because I always knew it was special. I’d almost pulled it out a couple of times in co-writes that weren’t working. But I knew not to. When I sat down with Tony, I knew he was the one. I told him those lines, and he went, ‘That’s fucking badass.’ We finished it in an hour… It was unbelievable.”

“Rest Of My Life” is a solo McCollum write, and it’s incredibly introspective. “I’m shakin’ like winter but I just can’t eat // It’s just one of those late nights that I’m never gonna beat //And I lay down for a moment and my eyes start closin’ // I can’t help but wonder why, yeah it’s just the rest of my life”. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to find clarity, and that is definitely apparent in this song.

Gold Chain Cowboy is sonically more polished than his first two albums, but the heart of it stays the same. He is young but well-traveled. The album is equal parts Texas and Tennessee, and that combination makes it all the more successful. For an album that walks the line of an identity crisis to finding yourself all over again, there is a precision and cohesiveness to the record that makes it clear why McCollum is country music’s next big thing.

Gold Chain Cowboy Tracklist:

  1. Wait Outside (Parker McCollum, Jon Randall, Randy Rogers
  2. Dallas ft. Danielle Bradbery (Parker McCollum, Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers)
  3. To Be Loved By You (Parker McCollum, Rhett Akins)
  4. Drinkin’ (Parker McCollum, Lee Miller)
  5. Falling Apart (Parker McCollum, Miranda Lambert, Jon Randall, Randy Rogers)
  6. Heart Like Mine (Parker McCollum, Tony Lane, Ben West)
  7. Why Indiana (Parker McCollum, Erik Dylan, Randy Montana)
  8. Rest Of My Life (Parker McCollum)
  9. Pretty Heart (Parker McCollum, Randy Montana)
  10. Never Loved You At All (Parker McCollum, Corey Crowder, Brian Kelley)

Our Picks:

  1. “Heart Like Mine”
  2. “To Be Loved By You”
  3. “Rest Of My Life”
