Walker Hayes’ moment to shine is now! As longtime fans of the singer-songwriter, even naming him an Artist to Watch back in 2017, it is so exciting to see his stardom continue to rise. His mega-hit “Fancy Like,” and his rising single, “AA,” keeps fans excited for what’s to come. Today, Hayes releases the next song off his upcoming album, Country Stuff The Album, due out January 21st. His new song “Drinking Songs” is out now.

Although Hayes has a checkered past with alcohol, he jokes “who better to write a drinking song than an alcoholic?,” on his social media. The truth is this song is deep, yet fun to listen to, a combination you do not typically find in music.

“So give me that bourbon and Bocephus // I can’t help me so help me Jesus (Jesus) // She ain’t coming back like you // She gone (Back like you) // So what I need is, boys right now // Hank ain’t never gon’ let me down (Gon’ let me down) // Bring them family traditions on // Yeah I’m just keep sittin’ here sippin’ and singin’ along // Thank God for drinkin’ and drinkin’ songs”

The new song depicts how many of us feel, when we have hit rock bottom, especially after losing someone we love. Hayes is a master wordsmith. This song is just another example of how clever and unique his artistry truly is. He is sure to gain some new fans with his song!
