Mitchell Tenpenny Flawlessly Covers Luke Combs’ “When It Rains It Pours”

Mitchell Tenpenny Luke Combs

Photo By: Mike Spotz (@illkoncept) for NYCountry Swag

In this weird world without live music, we have been living for the demos and the covers that country music artists have been posting on their social media platforms. Just today, one of our favorites, Mitchell Tenpenny surprised fans with an Instagram clip of him jamming to Luke Combs’ smash hit “When It Rains It Pours”.

Armed with the spot-on caption “There’s a reason they still play this song on the radio @lukecombs because it’s *Fire emoji*,” M10 gives his perfect rendition of the killer tune. True to his distinct vocals, the singer-songwriter manages to turn the track into one that fits his wheelhouse and would fit with all his other jams. We especially love that the singer enjoys singing country music in his car because who doesn’t?!

While Luke Combs continues to break his own records in true superstar fashion, Tenpenny is taking the country world by storm in his own right. The singer already has one number one under his belt with his debut single “Drunk Me” and his new jam, “Broken Up” is headed to country radio next. The sky’s the limit for both these stellar country artists.

As for Combs, don’t miss the upcoming release of his deluxe album, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, out October 23rd. Until we can see Combs or Tenpenny in person, we hope they will continue to post covers and new demos on social media for our amusement.

Fans can join our Weekly Round-Up e-newsletter here, for the latest in country music and more news about future Mitchell Tenpenny / Luke Combs releases.

Luke Combs Breaks His Own Record with 9th Consecutive Number 1

Luke Combs Lovin' On You

If there is one thing that country music fans across the genre can agree on, it is Luke Combs. The bonafide superstar can truly do no wrong. With just two albums under his belt, Combs has solidified himself as one of the best in the genre.

Combs continues to break his own records, landing his 9th consecutive number 1 single with “Lovin’ On You” on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. In just 12 weeks, the track made it’s way to the top spot, adding another record to Combs list, becoming the fastest climbing single. This marks the singer-songwriter’s fourth number one track from his newest record What You See Is What You Get. Former hit singles “Beer Never Broke My Heart”, “Even Though I’m Leaving” and “Does To Me” found their way to the top.

“Lovin’ On You” was written by Combs with Ray Fulcher, Thomas Archer and James McNair, and was a fan-favorite almost instantly. Fulcher has had a hand in writing hits for Combs before, including “When It Rains It Pours” and “Even Though I’m Leaving.” Check out some of his own songs and his rendition of Combs 8th number one, “Does To Me”, which he also co-wrote, in our Swag Session below.

We knew Combs was special ever since 2017 when we named him one of our 2017 Artists to Watch, shortly after seeing him perform at his first New York City show ever. Take a look back at the show here.

There’s truly no stopping the hitmaker, who was also recently nominated for CMA Entertainer of the Year just two years after taking home the award for Best New Artist. Additionally, Combs announced he will be releasing a deluxe album, retitled What You See Ain’t Always What You Get this October. As Combs continues to break the mold, we anticipate that there are even bigger things on the horizon for him!

To keep up with Luke Combs, follow him on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

Luke Combs & Carly Pearce Announce First Round of 2020 CMA Awards Nominations Live from Grand Ole Opry on Good Morning America

Last year, Stephanie and Christina of NYCountry Swag flew down to Nashville to attend the 53rd Annual CMA Awards, witnessing an iconic night for women in country music including hosts Carrie Underwood with special guests Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire. Luke Combs Teases Brand New Song “Forever After All”

Luke Combs is a bonafide superstar. In his young career, he has broken records, had an insane amount of number one hits, and built a fanbase that is as tried and true as they come. The truth is he deserves every bit of success that is coming to him because his music speaks volumes about who he is as a singer and a songwriter. Continuing to keep fans on the edge of their seats, the singer took to TikTok to tease a brand new song coming up the pipeline called “Forever After All.”

Clearly inspired by his now wife, Nicole Hocking, Combs is giving us a love song that completes the trilogy of hit songs that have come before, including “Beautiful Crazy” and “Better Together.” The unreleased ballad reflects how love knows no bounds and will truly last forever even in death.

“They say nothing lasts forever / But they ain’t seen us together / Or the way the moonlight dances in your eyes / And  know there’ll be a moment / The good Lord calls one of us home and / One won’t have the other by their side / But heaven knows that won’t last too long / Maybe some things last forever after all”

It is possible that the new song might be one of the five new tracks to come in October, when Combs releases the deluxe version of his sophomore record renamed What You See Ain’t Always What You Get. Whatever this song makes it on the record or not, we’re sure that Combs’ fans will make sure that they get this song going viral across social media!

To keep up with Luke Combs follow him on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
