Kindness Isn’t Canceled Spotlight: Nurses Helping Nurses Helping Us

It has been a tough few weeks for Nashville, for the country, and for the world. Small businesses are struggling to stay afloat, people are trying to rebuild their homes, many Americans are losing their jobs, and we are all forced to stay in as we fight through this pandemic. Despite all this turmoil, beauty and kindness have remained.

We decided to flip the script and shine our spotlight, while we can, on some of the kindness that we have witnessed from others because Kindness Isn’t Canceled. To grab your exclusive shirt, click here.

We would be remiss if we did not take a moment to spotlight some of the amazing essential workers, who we are so thankful for during these times. Today, we specifically would like to thank all the nurses and the medical professionals, who have dedicated their lives to keeping us healthy and safe.

For the past couple of weeks, nurses from other parts of New York State and other states in the country have come out in droves to New York City and the surrounding areas to lend their services to our beautiful city in order to fight this pandemic. Nurses from North Carolina, Florida, and many other states have left their own families and loved ones behind with a will to save lives.

These nurses are truly putting themselves in what has been described as a “war zone” for the betterment of us. It’s truly an incredible act of courage and selflessness that we cannot fully express our gratitude for. We thank them for their kindness.

Kindness Isn’t Canceled Spotlight: 10 Ways You Can Spread Kindness

It has been a tough few weeks for Nashville, for the country, and for the world. Small businesses are struggling to stay afloat, people are trying to rebuild their homes, many Americans are losing their jobs, and we are all forced to stay in as we fight through this pandemic. Despite all this turmoil, beauty and kindness have remained.

We decided to flip the script and shine our spotlight, while we can, on some of the kindness that we have witnessed from others because Kindness Isn’t Canceled. To grab your exclusive shirt, click here.

Today, in celebration of our first batch of shirts being shipped, we decided to share ten ways that we can all help continue to spread kindness. Let us know if you try any!

  1. Offer to do a chore (like cooking dinner or cleaning the bathroom) that you do not normally do for your family.
  2. Pay for the person in the car behind you in the drive-through line or behind you at the supermarket.
  3. Purchase essential items from small businesses and local businesses that you want to support.
  4. Buy gift cards to restaurants that you love to order take-out or to go out to dinner once we are all able to again.
  5. Draw an uplifting picture or write some positive affirmations and hang it on your front door for cars or people walking to see.
  6. Make a care basket or write a letter to one of your friends, family members or even a stranger and leave it on their doorstep or in their mailbox to brighten their day.
  7. Donate to a charity of your choice.
  8. Spread the word about an organization or an artist that you love via social media.
  9. Share your talent via Youtube or another platform to help people learn a new skill during downtime.
  10. Simply smile because smiling is contagious.

Kindness Isn’t Canceled Spotlight: NYC Supports Foster Dogs

It has been a tough few weeks for Nashville, for the country, and for the world. Small businesses are struggling to stay afloat, people are trying to rebuild their homes, many Americans are losing their jobs, and we are all forced to stay in as we fight through this pandemic. Despite all this turmoil, beauty and kindness have remained.

We decided to flip the script and shine our spotlight, while we can, on some of the kindness that we have witnessed from others because Kindness Isn’t Canceled. To grab your exclusive shirt, click here.

Today we have a story for all those animal lovers out there. Since we are all essentially stuck at home for the near future, New Yorkers turned out in droves earlier last month to support a cause that is near and dear to our hearts. Animal shelters across the United States have been reporting an increase of people readily available and eager to foster a dog, during this time; however, New York City really came through.

When the Animal Care Centers of NYC put out a call for applications to its fostering program, which had 200 slots available, over 2000 New Yorkers applied. It is believed that because many of us are working from home now or unfortunately unable to work, we are seeking a furry companion to get us through this time. We might be providing a dog with a home, but as always, they are providing us humans with the friendship and kindness we need during this time of isolation.

According to Foster Dogs INC., they are now focusing their efforts on continuing to support the foster parents and dogs, during this crisis. If you wish to donate to this worthy cause, click here, and visit their website at fosterdogsnyc.com

Kindness Isn’t Canceled Spotlight: St. Jude ‘Inspired by Your Kindness’

Our next story of kindness hails from an organization that we have highlighted before for their acts of courage and unwavering strength. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is the leading research hospital geared towards combatting childhood cancer and other life-threatening illness. Their work is unprecedented, and they truly are an organization everyone should support.

In addition to their numerous programs like “This Shirt Saves Lives”, to support their mission even further, St Jude has a blog called St. Jude Inspire, where they tell the stories about the hospital in hopes of inspiring trust, hope, and faith in others. As their mission statement says, their goal is always “Finding cures: Saving children.”

Due to the loneliness and isolation that can be direct impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, much like us, St. Jude has added a new blog series to their site called “Inspired by Your Kindness.” As they say, in this time of social distancing, the St. Jude team is looking for ways to add some light to people’s days through feel-good stories that spread kindness.

St. Jude is showing people that we can still find human connections and light in a time of uncertainty. Their stories range from lessons you can learn from coloring to acts of compassion by teachers. Check out their series here to learn more.

Kindness Isn’t Canceled Spotlight: Whiskey Jam Becomes Risky Jam

It has been a tough few weeks for Nashville, for the country, and for the world. Small businesses are struggling to stay afloat, people are trying to rebuild their homes, many Americans are losing their jobs, and we are all forced to stay in as we fight through this pandemic. Despite all this turmoil, beauty and kindness have remained.

We decided to flip the script and shine our spotlight, while we can, on some of the kindness that we have witnessed from others because Kindness Isn’t Canceled. To grab your exclusive shirt, click here.

Whiskey Jam, a popular celebration of music that takes place in Nashville’s midtown area every Monday and Thursday night, is not letting the effects of COVID-19 keep them from bringing people together through the power of music. After launching nine years ago, Whiskey Jam has hosted household names like Thomas Rhett, Luke Combs, and Dierks Bentley, as well as rising artists, breaking into the country music scene.

Since going out is no longer an option, and Whiskey Jam has to be postponed, the creators came up with a brilliant idea, Enter: “Risky Jam.”

Hosted by Whiskey Jam’s Founder, Ward Guenther, Risky Jam is a live-streaming event that happens via Instagram every Monday and Thursday night. The interactive show brings together various country artists video-calling into the show, chatting with Ward about how they’re navigating life in this current situation, what they’re working on and more. Each artist plays some music and both the host and musical guest will often take to the comments, calling out fans, answering questions and taking requests.

The lively show brings country artists across the genre and their music straight to your screen, enabling fans across the world to tune in and get a sneak peek of just how special Whiskey Jam and it’s “Jam Fam” is. Music brings people together, and this is the perfect event to remember that.

Previously, the platform has hosted the likes of Lee Brice, Riley Green, Lauren Alaina, among others, but this week there will be a special tribute to the late and great, Joe Diffie. In a special titled ‘Diffie Jam,’ stars like Travis Denning and Chris Lane will pay tribute to the legendary country musician. The live event starts tonight, Tuesday, March 31st at 9PM EST on the @whiskeyjam Instagram.

A silver lining of all this chaos and confusion has come in the form of music and our access to it, so we hope you enjoy this story, as much as we enjoyed sharing it. We want to thank Whiskey Jam and it’s creators for working so hard to continue to lift our spirits along with so many fans across the world through music.

Kindness Isn’t Canceled Spotlight: Kids Spread Kindness and Love

As schools across the state are closed and kids are cooped up in their houses, a small act of kindness and love accompanied by a flourishing Facebook page created all the difference. A few parents from Long Island, New York created the ‘Rainbows over Nassau and Suffolk Counties and Beyond,’ Facebook group with the idea that kids could have a community-wide rainbow hunt, which is a safe and easy way for kids to get out of the house while still practicing social distancing.

Kids across the state have created rainbows with chalk, paint, and other means, as well as, hung up drawings and pictures on their doors or in their windows. Parents get a chance to take their children on a fun scavenger hunt through the neighborhood either on foot or by car. It’s a fun and innovative way to pass time and remind parents and children alike that we are all in this together!

The rainbow hunt is an important story to share because it is a simple way to spread kindness and community, while we all deal with this ever-changing world that we are living in. This simple idea turned into a 36,000 and counting Facebook group with thousands upon thousands of children participating all over the state and beyond. All it takes is heart and an idea to make a positive difference.

Although this may just seem like a small feat, it reminds us all to help out where we can. It reminds us all to virtually check in on our friends, families, and even our co-workers. Stories like this remind us that kindness goes a long way!

Kindness Isn’t Canceled Spotlight: Artists Help Employees of Broadway Bars

It has been a tough few weeks for Nashville, for the country, and for the world. Small businesses are struggling to stay afloat, people are trying to rebuild their homes, many Americans are losing their jobs, and we are all forced to stay in as we fight through this pandemic. Despite all this turmoil, beauty and kindness have remained.

Since Nashville’s Broadway, a famous strip of bars and restaurants that is visited by millions each year, is now closed, superstars Dierks Bentley and the men of Florida Georgia Line decided to use their resources to make a difference.

Both artists have their own bars in Nashville, Dierks’ Whiskey Row, and Hubbard and Kelley’s FGL House. Unfortunately, since many of the employees, including bartenders, waitresses, waiters, and management staff are being laid off or are temporarily out of work, due to the pandemic, people may be struggling to make ends meet.

To do what he can to help out his employees, Bentley gifted $1000 to each of his 90 employees, empathizing with those employees who work for tips. In full, the singer spent $90K to help out his staff. The men of FGL followed Bentley’s lead, vowing to gift $1000 to each of their 117 employees of FGL House. They shared their reasons for their contribution via Instagram.

Although this may just seem like a small feat, it reminds us all to help out where we can. It reminds us all to virtually check in on our friends, families, and even our co-workers. Stories like this remind us that kindness goes a long way!

Kindness Isn’t Canceled Spotlight: IGC Hospitality Family Meal

It has been a tough few weeks for Nashville, for the country, and for the world. Small businesses are struggling to stay afloat, people are trying to rebuild their homes, many Americans are losing their jobs, and we are all forced to stay in as we fight through this pandemic. Despite all this turmoil, beauty and kindness have remained.

We decided to flip the script and shine our spotlight, while we can, on some of the kindness that we have witnessed from others because Kindness Isn’t Canceled.

One of the supreme hospitality groups in New York City, IGC Hospitality has shown kindness through these tough times. In the spirit of hospitality and their four core values, (human, hospitable, hungry, and humble) IGC launched “Family Meal”, a relief program for the NYC restaurant community.

The program provides free meals to the employees who work in the industry and their families. This initiative not only provides meals for restaurant workers and their loved ones, but allows some employees to keep working, which in turn allows them to keep earning a much-needed paycheck through these uncertain times.

This selfless effort by IGC is one that is deserving of accolades. Friends, families, employees, and employers alike have all pitched in to donate to the cause. It costs just $6 to donate a meal. So far an astonishing, $23,519 has been raised by over 150 donors in just a few short days. The ultimate goal currently stands at $40,000.

We are so proud to be able to share IGC Hospitality’s story, and we hope it touched your heart, as it has ours. If you feel inclined to donate, you can do so here. If you are unable to contribute financially, we encourage you to share the link.
