Jameson Rodgers Releases Two Brand New Songs

Jameson Rodgers shares two brand new songs,“Goin’ Crazy” and “Holding Me Back” out now, February 17th, on all streaming platforms. Listen here.

This week Jameson Rodgers kicks off his latest touring gig with none other than HARDY. While fans can look forward to that, Rodgers fans also get not one, but two brand new songs to jam to, out today. Both “Goin’ Crazy” and “Holding Me Back” are solid songs that we hope Rodgers adds to his set list.

“Goin’ Crazy” is a mid-tempo love song that hits all the right notes. Rodgers co-penned the track with HARDY, Zach Abend, and Josh Thompson. Lyrically, the song is the perfect spin on how crushing on someone can make you feel like you are going crazy.

“Hey y’all it ain’t what you think // Yeah, I’m goin’ out of my mind // But my heart ain’t feelin’ no pain // It’s beatin’ better than it has in a long time // Rock bottom ain’t where I’m at // Someone’s been rockin’ my world // I’m callin’ her baby, I’m goin’ crazy // ‘Cause I’m crazy ‘bout a girl”

On the contrary, “Holding Me Back” is a relatable break-up tune. Rodgers laments about how it can be difficult to move on when you still feel emotionally stuck in an old relationship. While conceptually a different concept than “Goin’ Crazy,” “Holding Me Back” feels cohesive with Rodgers’ impressive catalog of music.

The CRS New Faces of Country Music is one of the most coveted showcases during the Country Radio Seminar that spotlights five emerging artists that have achieved significant success in the country genre. This year, Gabby Barrett, Walker Hayes, Parker McCollum, Jason Rodgers, and Lainey Wilson were honored with the title.

Jameson Rodgers Gets the New York City Show He’s Been Waiting For

Jameson Rodgers finally got to have his New York City headlining show that he’s been waiting nearly two years for.

Bowery Ballroom was buzzing with excitement as patrons flooded the downstairs lobby bar, in anticipation of one of the first country concerts back in Manhattan since March of 2020. The old behaviors of having a drink at the bar with friends before heading in just seems to mean a little bit more this time around.

Rising singer-songwriter, Hunter Phelps opened the show with an acoustic set providing the much-needed ambiance to gather his fans after a long time apart. He played songs likes “Throwin’ Parties” and “Breakup Sex”, which got the crowd really warmed up and in the mood to vibe along to their love of country music.

After a 45-minute set, the room was ready for Jameson Rodgers to take the stage. He came out rocking with his full band to “I Love This Town”, a tribute to all the small towns every country fan knows about. Rodgers recently dropped his debut full-length album,  Bet You’re From a Small Town, on September 17th and New York fans seemed to already know all of the words. “Girl With a Broken Heart” was a standout track of the night, mesmerizing concert-goers with lyrics like, “I know goodbye ain’t no fun // keep telling yourself he ain’t the one.”

His number one, “Cold Beer Calling My Name” brought the party to life and everyone seemed to forget about not having been at a concert in a year. Rodgers mixed in some classics like “Take It Easy”, “Life in the Fast Lane”, and “Heartache Tonight”.

Right after a fan gave the entertainer a shot to take, Rodgers said he’d been waiting two years to play New York City, as he was sick for his originally scheduled 2019 show, and he was due for a second attempt in March of 2020. “There was a time not too long ago, when I didn’t think I’d be back in New York City playing country music;” a stark reminder of everything we’ve all been through the past 18 months.

He introduced his amazing band and they each got to sing a song, ranging from full on rock to a wonderful “Tennessee Whiskey”.

Rodgers also took a moment to bring his opening act, Hunter Phelps back out for a special performance of the number one song they co-wrote together along with HARDY and Ashley Gorley, for Chris Lane, “I Don’t Know About You”. Check out a clip from the special moment below.

Another standout moment was Rodgers’ performance of his track, “One Day” hit close to home for so many to remember what’s really important, and “Bet You’re From a Small Town” rounded it out, bringing it back to his small town roots. No matter what it took to bring him back to New York, everyone was glad he came.

Jameson Rodgers: ‘Bet You’re From a Small Town’ – Album Review

Jameson Rodgers’ debut album Bet You’re From a Small Town, features “One Day,”Some Girls,” and “Cold Beer Calling My Name” with Luke Combs.  Check out our full review and listen to the brand new music below.

For Columbia Nashville/River House Artists rising star, Jameson Rodgers, his debut album has been a long time in the making. The singer-songwriter moved to Music City from Mississippi over a decade ago, and has been waiting on this moment ever since. “Being from a small town in Mississippi, I’m well aware that not everyone gets to do music for a living,” says Rodgers. “I’ve been waiting to announce and release my debut album ever since I moved to Nashville 11 years ago. I’m extremely grateful for this day to be here and I can’t wait to see and hear how people react to these songs and this album.”

Co-writing 14 of the album’s 15 tracks, the newlywed singer explores themes of love, loss, small towns, and drinking beer, but manages to cover each of those tropes in a way that is new and unique.

The album opens with the anthemic “One Day,” a tongue-in-cheek ode to that feeling of never quite getting over a breakup. With its driving guitars, the well-written and perfectly crafted mid-tempo, the song is a fantastic introduction to the album. “One day I’ll get over you,” Rodgers muses of his attempts to move on. “One day I’m gonna die.”

Other highlights of the album include “Merle Haggard,” “Missing You,” and “You Won’t. On “Merle Haggard,” we find Rodgers reminiscing about someone that his mama warned him about. “You’re the leaving story // You were good but no good for me // Mama tried to warn me // That you’d break my heart in two // Merle Haggard would’ve wrote songs about you.”

Meanwhile “You Won’t” is about accepting a breakup, while “Missing One” is a perfectly-crafted, radio-ready breakup-moving-on-missing-someone-track that we can’t get enough of. I wanna want somebody else,” Rodgers admits. “The girls in here can’t help tonight // Because I’m missing one.”

The theme of small town life weaves its way through the album, which is fitting considering the LP’s title. While the title track is another standout country anthem, songs like “Bars Back Home” and “Porch With a View” continue that vibe. On “Bet You’re From a Small Town,” Rodgers is truly celebrating life in a small town without being too cliche. “If you got a buddy that’s always got your back // If you’ve got a mama who prays for you no matter where you’re at // If you don’t give a damn how fast the world spins around // I bet you’re from a small town.”

Rodgers also explores topics of the opposite sex on songs like “Girl with the Broken Heart,” “Girls That Smoke,” and his chart-topping “Some Girls.” On the former, he encourages those dealing with a breakup, reminding them to “drink that wine // It’s gonne be fine.” Meanwhile, “Girls That Smoke” is about those girls who are just a bit too dangerous, wrecking hearts and weekends in one fell swoop.

Just as the album starts strong, it also closes strong with some of the best songs coming on the album’s second half. There’s “Cold Beer Calling My Name” featuring Rodgers’s labelmate, country superstar, Luke Combs. “Good Dogs” is a beautiful love song to the beloved pets that are gone too soon, while the album’s final track, “Desert,” is a sparse yet twangy song of hope about getting through tough times. “‘Cause life’s kinda crazy // Can’t predict the weather // But the cold and the rain and the pain don’t last forever,” he reminds us. You know the lows sure make the highs so much better // Yeah sunshine all the time just makes a desert.”

It may have taken Jameson Rodgers over a decade to release his debut album, but after a few listens, we can absolutely say that it was well worth the wait.

Jameson Rodgers Releases New Single “One Day”

Jameson Rodgers released a brand new single “One Day,” available now on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig into the song.

Shortly after the release of his debut EP, In It For The Money, rising star Jameson Rodgers released a new single. Rodgers has been teasing this mid-tempo track on social media all week. In the song, he portrays his feelings towards a breakup in a sarcastic, yet distressing way. Rodgers’ says ‘the day I get over her is the same day I’ll quit drinking beers’ (never).

“One day I’m gonna quit drinking these cold beers // One day me and this truck will quit riding roads ‘round here // One day I’m gonna give up barstools and neon lights // One day I’ll get over you; one day I’m gonna die”

Rodgers broke into the mainstream country scene with his release of the now number-one song “Some Girls,” and is currently climbing the charts again with “Cold Beer Calling My Name”–his collaboration with country superstar Luke Combs. “One Day” has the potential to be the singer’s next radio single. It has early fan engagement and enthusiasm.

Jameson Rodgers: In It For The Money – EP Review

Jameson Rodgers’ highly anticipated EP, In It For The Money, is out now, April 23rd, everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.

Jameson Rodgers is a man with humble beginnings. He did not originally set out in Nashville to “make it big.” He simply wanted to write music that others would love, but as fate would have it, he is a great vocalist too. The time is officially now for Rodgers to showcase his undeniable talent and firmly take his spot in the industry. Rodgers’ newest project In It for the Money is the perfect record to solidify his much-earned place in country music.

“I would do this forever, for a just getting by salary. It’s just something in your heart. It makes you happy,” shared Rodgers in a recent press release, “I literally look forward to waking up every day and getting to write a song or play a show. I just can’t imagine doing anything else in life.”

The seven-track project begins with three songs that will be familiar to fans. The chart-climber “Cold Beer Calling My Name” kicks off the record. Rodgers joins forces with labelmate and superstar Luke Combs on this fun-loving jam. Similarly, “Rolling Rock, Rolling Stones” is a song that needs to blast through your speakers.

Fittingly, the singer’s debut number one single “Some Girls” is also featured on the project. The song still remains one of the best on the project, both lyrically and vocally.

“Some girls drink a bottle of wine // Got an old ex to text, too get them through the getting by // Sometimes it’s a clean break, stay gone // Clean slate, moving on to something new // Sometimes, some girls make it easy on you // But some girls never do”

Of course, the record also boasts the recently released “Good Dogs.” The song is all about reminding us all to not take the people and pets we love and the things we cherish for granted. Written during a writer’s retreat with a few of his buddies and fellow songwriters, Rodgers created a unique, yet powerful tune that fits in nicely with this project.

The title track “In It for the Money” is the heart of the record, properly placed in the center of the tracklist. The song is all about having the drive and the passion to be a musician. It perfectly personifies Rodgers’ journey in the country music industry and his incredible grit, while still feeling relatable for anyone who has a passion for something.

“And the high you get when they’re singing your song // You wrote about how a heartbreak feels // Looking at the world through an old man windshield // That long road to the top ain’t paved with sold-out shows // If I was in it for the money, I’d of quit a long time ago”

“When You Think of Mississippi” is the nostalgic song on the record. The verses give Rodgers a chance to reflect on a broken relationship that reminds him of his roots and upbringing. The song oozes radio appeal, and we’re sure fans are going to fall in love with this tune.

The record ends with another one of our favorite tunes off the project, “Desert.” Rodgers is truly at his best on this heartbreakingly beautiful song. Although the song is clearly from the perspective of having dealt with heartbreak, the singer encourages people to move on and to focus on the stuff we can control in life. Life is full of ups and downs, but it is still beautiful. It’s a song we all need to hear.

“Tell the ones you love that you love em // Tell the ones you miss that you miss em // Cause life’s kinda crazy, you can’t predict the weather // But the cold and the rain, and the pain don’t last forever // You know the lows sure make the highs so much better // Man sunshine all the time just makes a desert”

“My purpose that I know right now is that I want to leave the world a better place than I found it. And the best chance I have of doing that is writing and singing songs,” shared the singer. We could not agree more! Rodgers was made for the life he is living, and In It for the Money EP is an incredible reflection of that.

Jameson Rodgers Announces EP + Releases Heartfelt “Good Dogs”

Jameson Rodgers announced his next EP, In It For The Money, due out April 23rd. Additionally, he dropped a brand new song, “Good Dogs”, available now, April 9th, everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the track.

One of our former Swag Spotlight artists, Jameson Rodgers is proving to be quite the force in country music. His debut single “Some Girls” went number one in October, and he has continued the momentum since. Today, he announced his next EP, In It For The Money, due out April 23rd, and dropped another heartfelt tune entitled “Good Dogs.”

Written during a writer’s retreat with a few of his buddies and fellow songwriters, Rodgers created a unique, yet powerful tune. “Good Dogs” is all about how important our pets are to us throughout the many stages of life. If the song sounds familiar, it may be because the singer leaked the song back in January, when he shared a clip of him playing the song on Youtube. Similar to Riley Green’s hit, “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” Rodgers’ new song tugs at listeners’ heartstrings as he conveys the message that we all feel, we wish dogs lived forever.

Jameson Rodgers' EP, 'In It For The Money' is due out April 23rd

“Good trucks they’ll run forever if you keep oil in ‘em and you treat ‘em right // A good woman holds you together, she’ll stick with you for the rest of your life // Good buddies will always come running, got your back no matter what // But good dogs don’t live long enough”

Moreover, the tearjerker tells a compelling story, reminding us all to not take the people and pets we love and the things we cherish for granted. As usual, Rodgers’ vocals are powerful on the track too. The singer-songwriter is proving to be one of the newer artists that we are most excited about!

Jameson Rodgers’ “Some Girls” Earns Him First Career Number One

Jameson Rodgers’ “Some Girls” earns him very first career number one as the song hits the top spot on the country charts this week.

For about a decade, Jameson Rodgers has been grinding it out in the Nashville scene, cultivating a unique fanbase. Finally given his shot, Rodgers was signed by Columbia Nashville and released his debut song “Some Girls” to country radio. The song, written by CJ Solar, Jake Mitchell, and HARDY, has been steadily moving up the charts, hovering in the top ten for weeks, but now “Some Girls” is officially a number one hit.

“Sometimes it’s a clean break, stay gone / Clean slate, moving on to something new / Sometimes, some girls make it easy on you / But some girls never do”

We named Rodgers one of our 2020 Artists to Watch earlier this year, and despite this crazy year we are having, this proved to be an important one for the songwriter-turned-singer/songwriter both personally and professionally. He released more music to fans and on a personal level, got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Sarah Allison Turner.

We are sure that the addition of “Some Girls” being a chart-topper will only add to Rodgers’ excitement! The song itself is a modern-twist on getting through a break-up. It is a great introduction in to the rising artist’s writing style and crisp vocals. We are excited to see how Rodgers’ career continues to blossom. Congratulations on your very first number one!

Newcomer Jordan Rowe Drops Debut Single “Good For Nothin'”

Jordan Rowe has released his debut song, “Good For Nothin'”, available on all streaming platforms now.

A new artist that we are excited about, Jordan Rowe was recently discovered by River House Artists, which includes superstars such as Luke Combs and Jameson Rodgers. Rowe is a great vocalist and songwriter, marking his debut release with a song entitled “Good For Nothin’.”

With a twang that is hard to miss, the South Georgia native laments on the track about taming his wild ways for a girl, who decided to break-up with him anyway. Written by the Rowe with songwriters, Ray Fulcher and Jay Brunswick, the song is traditional country mixed with a modern flair. Although the track appears lyrically to be sad, sonically the song uplifts us, and ultimately Rowe becomes a guy who is happy to get back to his good ole country boy roots.

Jordan Rowe Good For Nothin'

“A little bit of you made a lot of me go away and mostly my wild side / Now I’m a Sunday morning saint / Got some narrow in my straight, leaving kind’s one thing I ain’t, but I can’t say the same ‘bout you / Now mama always said that the good guys win, but she must’ve never met you cause after all I did / All it is good for nothing, but cold beers but he dozen with good for nothing boys like me”

In his short career, Rowe has already performed with some of the most promising names in country music right now, including Combs, Riley Green, Chris Janson, and Morgan Wallen. The singer-songwriter is sure to have a bright future in country music!
