Florida Georgia Line Release Brand New Single “Long Live”

After recently dropping the 6-Pack EP in May, the 2020 ACM and CMA nominated Duo of the Year, Florida Georgia Line wasted no time releasing new material with a song titled “Long Live.” Both Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley co-wrote the toast-raising track alongside their good friends, Corey Crowder, David Garcia, and Josh Miller. The duo also co-produced the track along with Corey Crowder.

Backed by a string-heavy production, this new track has “Here’s to the Good Times” vibes as Hubbard and Kelley pay homage to the southern way of life. In the chorus, the two list all the aspects of small-town life they never want to change.

“Long live all the small-towners, sun-up and sun-downers, and old school Haggard and Hank / Love live long-neck bottles, and wide-open throttles, and old dirt roads with no names / Long live them country girls, long live them cut-up jeans / Long live this way of life, long live nights like these”

The duo’s latest single, “I Love My Country,” hit number one the week of August 31st, marking their 17th chart-topping song. Fans can catch them perform it live at the 55th ACM Awards on Wednesday (9/16) at 8/7c on CBS.

Florida Georgia Line Lands 17th Number 1 with “I Love My Country”

Florida Georgia Line Lands 17th Number 1 with “I Love My Country”

Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley have transformed themselves from a country duo to bonafide megastars. They are singers, songwriters, entertainers, performers,  and even own their own record label. As if this year couldn’t go any better for them, FGL scored their 17th career chart-topper with their single “I Love My Country” just this week.

With over one hundred million total global streams in just six months, the song joins the likes of their smash hits “Cruise,” “This Is How We Roll,” and the unforgettable collaboration with Bebe Rexha “Meant To Be,” among many others. Originally penned by Corey Crowder with Ernest Keith Smith and Ryan Vojtesak, later credit was also given to superstar, Kane Brown and co-writers Chase McGill and Will Weatherly.

“It’s just made us feel so good and gave us so much joy,” explained Hubbard in a recent press release, “Considering the time that we’re living in right now, with everyone quarantined and maybe living in a little bit of fear, it felt like a song that could help bring us a little light to people.”

Clearly fans felt like this song was exactly what they needed. The feel-good jam will definitely not be FGL’s last song to hit the top spot on the charts. It will be interesting to see what single they will bring to country radio next.

If you are loving all things FGL, make sure to watch them vie for Duo of the Year at the 55th ACM Awards taking place live from various locations in Nashville on September 16th. Additionally, announced just this morning (Sept 1.), the guys were also nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year at the 54th Annual CMA Awards on November 11th.

Florida Georgia Line Drop Relevant Track, “I Love My Country”

FGL I love my country

Florida Georgia Line is back with new music, and it’s a song that will have you up on your feet loving our country. “I Love My Country” is the award-winning duos first song off their highly anticipated fifth studio album, which we can expect later this year.

In a time of uncertainty, we may not like or agree on what’s going on in the United States right now. Still, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley remind us why our country continues to be a great place to live, with a reminder to keep having a good time and enjoy life the best that we can right now. They also wanted to pay tribute to the anything-goes lifestyle that their fans can’t do without.

Written by Corey Crowder, Ernest K. Smith, and Charlie Handsome, the song has a sound of hard-edged Southern Rock stomp with a rolling banjo. With their familiar and perfect blend of the singer-songwriter voices that we love, it has set the tone for Tyler and Brian’s exciting next chapter in their career.

Florida Georgia Line is set to hit the road on the Chillaxification Tour with Kenny Chesney, Old Dominion, and Michael Franti & Spearhead. While the beginning of the tour has been postponed, we are keeping our fingers crossed that the hottest show of the summer makes its way to New York at MetLife Stadium on August 22nd. You can find the up to date tour list here.

Florida Georgia Line Shouts Out To Carrie Underwood About Collaboration

Earlier today Florida Georgia Line took to social media to reach out to Carrie Underwood about a brand new song that they just wrote with pop sensation, Julia Michaels. Tyler and BK are in their TreeVibez studio and announced a PSA (Public Song Announcement) in the video. “We’d really love for Carrie Underwood to hear the song, we think it’d be a massive collaboration…”

The duo shared a snippet of the pop-leaning country tune, something they have perfected over the years.  The chorus repeats, “Feels good, cause I love you” as the duo bops along. Watch the post below.

Just last week we caught Florida Georgia Line when they performed during Country Radio Seminar in Nashville. The duo sang their biggest hits as well as their current radio single “Blessings”. Full recap of the event here.

Let us know, would you love a collaboration between two of country music’s biggest acts?

Florida Georgia Line joins Justin Bieber on “Yummy (Country Remix)”

Yummu

Justin Bieber teamed up with Florida Georgia Line to unleash a remix to his latest single “Yummy”. It was released last week and may have found its true home in the country charts. The collab put together an entire bop that has every intention of getting listeners to create their own dance floor, wherever they may be. Don’t be shy, show your coworkers some of your moves or start a dance-off with the Starbucks barista. We will not be responsible for any damage done.

Bieber recently joined Dan + Shay on their current single titled “10,000 Hours” and that’s been #1 on the charts for 19 weeks. With the inclusion of Florida Georgia Lines vocals and the casual dialogue between these crossroad acts to hype each other up or simply introduce a verse, it has the potential to be as successful as “Old Town Road” with Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus.

At first glance, you may not find a relationship between these tracks that could stay and govern their own planets at opposite sides of the solar system with ease. Though, to acknowledge similarities in different approaches to music, and anything for that matter, allows for there to be a deeper appreciation for them.

The one misconception with releasing new music is that it’s a done deal and cannot be tampered with anymore. In most cases, songs are complete in their initial stage and don’t need another version. Other pieces of music are only improved with different mixes, which allows for a more intimate understanding of the original. “Yummy” falls under this category.

“Yummy (Country Remix)” would be a great addition to your summer playlists that are handcrafted to encourage those shy partygoers to find themselves in the middle of a dance floor.

Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line Release Wolf Moon Bourbon Line

Florida Georgia Line Jason Aldean Bourbon

Friendship and bourbon sounds like the perfect storyline for a country song, doesn’t it? Well, country Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line are bringing the collaboration to real life with the release of their bourbon line, Wolf Moon Bourbon.

The 80-proof bourbon was aged for four years in charred American Oak barrels and distilled from Midwestern grains. You can expect to taste caramel, sweet corn, honey, and candied fruit, balanced by hints of oak and spice.

In a recent press release, Aldean explained how the idea of the collaboration came about after touring and befriending Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley in 2014. “There’s nothing like sharing a glass of bourbon with my crew after a show- you could say its been part of our ritual for years. Tyler and Brian have been a part of that ritual, and we wanted to create something to remind us of our favorite memories.” Wolf Moon’s name is a nod to the pack- the friends that become family. I’m looking forward to raising a glass with all my fans on the road this year.”

Hubbard and Kelley are already members of the whiskey world with their successful Old Camp Whiskey, which was released in 2016. In a recent press release, they shared, “Making good whiskey is a passion of ours, and we really wanted to create something new and fresh with Jason. We’ve had this idea for years and spent a lot of time making sure we got it just right. We’re all so proud of this and can’t wait for all of the memories to be made over Wolf Moon.”

While the award-winning artists are not on tour together this time around, it doesn’t mean they won’t be enjoying Wolf Moon on the road. Aldean just kicked off the We Back Tour with Morgan Wallen, Riley Green, and Dee Jay Silver. Florida Georgia Line is hitting the road with Kenny Chesney on the Chillaxification tour starting in April.

Florida Georgia Line Duet with Tayla Parx on “Fight”

Fight Tayla Parx FGL

Florida Georgia Line has done a number of collaborations throughout their career with top notch artists including the likes of Luke Bryan and Bebe Rexha and now they’ve added hit pop songwriter Tayla Parx to their collection.

“Fight”, co-written by FGL’s Tyler Hubbard, Nashville based songwriter Josh Miller,  and Parx is the first single since her album We Need To Talk which was released earlier in 2019. The song implicates the ideal balance of pop ambiances mixed with the country band’s signature spin on country stylistics. Parx told UpRoxx as apart of their Honda Backstage Series, “I wanted to find the perfect balance of urban and country. I took different patterns that you would typically find in urban music and played them with live instruments.”

The track has the singer + songwriters depicting the fight to keep a relationship; something we all must combat at least once in our lifetimes. They want to find simplicity because sometimes, you’re just too tired to fight anymore. They sing: “I’m not sayin’ I’m right // I’m not sayin’ you’re wrong // I’m just saying right now // I wanna get along, baby // I don’t wanna fight // I don’t wanna fight // Neither of us have to shoulder the blame // You could be mad as hell, I’d still love you the same // Baby, I don’t wanna fight // I don’t wanna fight, tonight

Tyler Hubbard of FGL told Kix 92.7, “We do love to collaborate. We love making new friends, writing with people outside of our genre and just kind of seeing where it goes. So we’ve been really fortunate . . . just to be on big songs with big artists and, you know, big opportunities for us, so, it’s awesome.”

Tayla Parx recently finished up touring with Lizzo while Florida Georgia Line just wrapped their Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour and are looking ahead to their 2020 run opening for Kenny Chesney.

NYCS First Impression: Florida Georgia Line ‘The Acoustic Sessions’

FGL Acoustic Sessions

Florida Georgia Line released their highly anticipated The Acoustic Sessions album last Friday (October 18). Produced by Joey Moi, the 17-song compilation contains an acoustic recording of every single (excluding “Blessings”, which was only put to country radio on September 23rd) the Grammy-nominated country duo has put out to date.

The first five songs are from their debut album Here’s to the Good Times, which hit number one on the US Country charts and peaked at number four on US all-genre. Their massive lead single, “Cruise” begins the record and although it still presents a party-vibe, the removal of the other instruments gives it more of a traditional feel. Other songs included on The Acoustic Sessions from Here’s to the Good Times are “Round Here”, “Stay”, “Get Your Shine On” and “This Is How We Roll” featuring Luke Bryan. The change from electric guitar to acoustic is very noticeable in “This Is How We Roll” as it slows down the first verse and the bridge.

Five songs were also included from their second album, Anything Goes including “Sippin’ on Fire”, “Sun Daze”, “Dirt”, “Anything Goes” and “Confession”. This album topped both the US Country and US all-genre charts and all five singles held a number one spot. The song that most differentiates from its original recording is “Anything Goes” as it is so reliant on its drums and electric guitar. In “Sippin’ on Fire”, Brian Kelley’s background vocals are more dominant as the other instruments in the original drowned him out. This creates a more somber mood. In “Confession” and “Dirt”, the banjo has a much more significant role, especially when transitioning into the verses.

Acoustic versions of “Smooth”, “H.O.L.Y.”, “May We All” featuring Tim McGraw and “God, Your Mama, and Me” featuring the Backstreet Boys were recorded from Florida Georgia Line’s most vulnerable third studio album, Dig Your Roots. This record peaked at number one on the US Country and New Zealand Heatseekers charts and number two on the Canadian and US all-genre charts. “H.O.L.Y.”, already one of their slowest songs, gets even more striped down in this acoustic recording. “God, Your Mama, and Me” might have gone through the biggest change on the entire album. In this new recording, the acoustic guitar is the main source of sound and in the original, one can barely notice it.

“Simple” and “Talk You Out of It” were re-recorded from their most recent album, Can’t Say I Ain’t Country. “Simple”, which is already a majority acoustic, did not sound much different from the original. However, “Talk You Out of It” went through a dramatic change as it uses synthetic sounds you hear in pop songs that were taken out of the new version. The stronger prevalence of the guitar makes it sound more traditional.  The same thing applies to the final track on The Acoustic Sessions album, the cross-over smash hit “Meant to Be” featuring Bebe Rexha. By removing the snapping noise and slowing the song down (especially in the first verse and chorus sung by Tyler Hubbard) this eight-time platinum collaboration becomes more of a sad love song.

Florida Georgia Line will headline the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on November 6th, 8th, 9th, and 12th. It was recently announced that they will be joining Old Dominion and Michael Franti & Spearhead as special guests on Kenny Chesney’s Chillaxafication Tour starting next April. The tour will stop in East Rutherford at MetLife Stadium on August 22nd. For tickets, head to their website.

The Acoustic Sessions is available on all digital platforms as the physical CD can be found only at Walmart. Find these tracks and more recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.

NYCS First Impression: Dylan Schneider ‘Whole Town Talk’ EP

Whole Town Talk Dylan Schneider

19-year-old Interscope Records singer-songwriter Dylan Schneider has partnered with Round Here Records to release his fourth EP titled Whole Town Talk last Friday. The EP contains four songs all co-written by Schneider, including “How to Country”, “Hometown Heartless”, “Bad Thing About a Backroad” and the title track “Whole Town Talk”.

The first two songs, “Whole Town Talk” and “How to Country” are great party/tailgate songs. The title track written by Schneider with Corey Crowder and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line is about an epic party thrown in his home town that got everyone talking about it.  In “How to Country”, Schneider sings about the things he does and the way he lives his life, reminding everyone that “Nobody gotta teach me how to country”.

The next two songs, “Hometown Heartless” and “Bad Thing About a Backroad”, are more vulnerable, talking about lost love. In the former, he sings “I know they said home is where the heart is, but you left this hometown heartless”, proving that his smalltown is not the same without the girl he loved who moved away, while the latter twists a played out narrative about backroads and country living turning depressing after a breakup.

The Terre Haute, Indiana native’s favorite genres growing were pop and hip-hop but discovered his love for country music around the age of 13. His biggest country music influence was Brett Eldredge which began when he saw him live at a show in Paris, Illinois, Eldredge’s hometown. The following year at Eldredge’s show in Terre Haute, he invited Schneider on stage to sing with him. Since then, Schneider has released four EPs before his 20th birthday.

“We are so excited to get to join team Dylan to help encourage, support, and create opportunities for this amazingly talented artist and writer,” shares Hubbard and Kelley in a recent press release. “We’ve loved Dylan since the day we met three or four years ago and are so thankful to have him in our family and on our roster. Timing is everything— and for Dylan, the time is now.”

“I’ve looked up to BK and Tyler for a long time now, and Interscope has been an amazing label home,” added Schneider. “To have two monsters in the music industry like FGL and Interscope joining forces on my behalf is a dream come true. Truly humbling. This new EP has been a long time coming, but I promise it’s worth the wait. This is hands down the best music I have ever written and recorded – can’t wait to share it with the world.”  Schneider will join FGL on the remaining dates of the Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour. For tour dates and more information head to https://www.dylanschneidermusic.com/

Keep up with Schneider on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

“Whole Town Talk” is available everywhere you buy or stream music. Check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.
