Morgan Wallen Makes Stop at Today To Perform “Whiskey Glasses”
Rising country star, Morgan Wallen is taking over New York City today, making his first stop at the ‘TODAY with Kathie Lee and Hoda.’ The singer continues to garner more and more fans with his distinctly country vocals and unique connection with fans. Later tonight, the singer-songwriter will play his first NYC headlining show at Irving Plaza, but first, he sang his current single “Whiskey Glasses,” off his debut album If I Know Me, as part of the Citi Concert Series.
Just before the performance, the co-hosts chatted with Wallen about his success, his debut album, and his headlining tour, stating “Ever since Rolling Stone called him a country artist you need to know, Morgan Wallen has been taking the country music world by storm.” The Tennessee native shared that he has been playing music his whole life but really began focusing on singing and songwriting after an injury sidelined him from playing baseball.
A few minutes later, with a full band to support him, Wallen took the stage to perform “Whiskey Glasses.” Donning his signature mullet and sleeveless flannel, the singer gave an enticing performance of the song. Wallen relied on his raspy and twangy vocals and his confident attitude to deliver a cool and energetic performance of the track, even flirting with the camera at times.
