Morgan Wallen’s Fans Cheer at a Decibel Level Higher Than Average Game
Morgan Wallen kicked off his 2022 Dangerous Tour with two sold-out shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Wednesday, February 9th marked the first stop on his 54-city trek across the country. As Wallen opened the show with his current single “Sand In My Boots” solo on the piano, the room of 13k+ fans cheered for the superstar reaching a decibel level averaging 30dBs louder than the average game at the arena. Three tracks into his epic 23-song-set, Wallen emotionally addressed the room, “My name is Morgan Wallen. We were supposed to start our tour in Indiana, but the good Lord had other plans, so for 2022, our first show is right here in Madison Square Garden.” Wallen’s original tour kick-off was rescheduled due to inclement weather, allowing for the superstar to instead kick things off days later at The World’s Most Famous Arena.
From beginning to end, Wallen had fans on their feet, singing along to every word of his 95-minute set. Standout moments of the show included when HARDY welcomed Lindsay Ell for his number one song “ONE BEER” during his opening set (Watch Here), Morgan Wallen surprised the crowd when he brought out ERNEST for a live performance of their duet, “Flower Shops” (Watch Here), and HARDY returned to the stage to perform “He Went To Jared” with Wallen (Watch Here).
Wallen also surprised fans during night 2, when he brought Larry Fleet back to the stage to perform Fleet’s debut single, “Where I Find God”. Watch the powerful performance below.
To close out the two shows, Wallen took some extra time at the end of night two. After lapping the outskirts of the stage, locking eyes with fans in every corner of the room, Wallen emotionally stood centerstage and thanked the sold out room. “I just wanted to stand here and take it all in for a second. Thank y’all man. It really means the world to me that you guys are here. Thank you. I can’t say thank you enough. Thank you from me, and from my band, and my crew”, Wallen tearfully tells the crowd before reaching a loss of words. Wallen drops the mic and leaves the stage to end two epic nights of country music in New York City. Watch the video of the special moment below.
