Restless Road Shares New Song “Work On Me”

Restless Road’s new song “Work On Me” is out now, January 3rd on all streaming platforms. Learn more about the new track below.

Country powerhouse band, Restless Road have found their sound in the genre. While we loved their most recent release, “Done It By Now,” Restless Road’s first song of 2025 is one of their absolute best. Today, the group released a new song called, “Work On Me.”

Restless Road’s seamless harmonies are hard to beat. The threesome smoothly move through the touching lyrics, as they sing about bettering themselves. “Work On Me” is a song that expresses wanting to be better for a significant other, asking for some help and patience too. While the lyrics are beautiful and honest, the catchy chorus, guitar riffs, and jaw dropping harmonies truly steal the show.

“Could use a wrench tune and a coat of paint // This heart of mine it comes as is // Can’t make no guarantees // If that works for you, you got the tools // Do what you do, bay work on me // Trust me girl I’m one hell of a project // But I’ve still got some shine that you can’t see // I know that I ain’t no quick fix // Buy those blue eyes and that kiss // Might work on me // Yeah, baby work on me”

Listen to “Work On Me” ASAP!

As fate would have it our first spotlight artist of 2024 earns the last number one single at country radio of the year! RECORDS Nashville recording artist, George Birge has officially earned his second number one song at country radio with his single, “Cowboy Songs.”

The song has had a steady rise up the charts since its release. “Cowboy Songs” is the title track from the singer’s project that he released in April. Written by Birge with Lalo Guzman, Matt McGinn, and Michael Tyler, “Cowboy Songs” is edgy, catchy, and alluring – all qualities that make it an obvious choice for a single at country radio.

“She only dances to cowboy songs // Loves to get lost in a moment // She comes alive when the neon’s on // Don’t wanna leave ’til it’s closing // So I’ve got a twenty on the jukebox to keep it playing // Anything that sounds like Waylon // And right here’s where I’ll be staying all night long // ‘Cause she only dances to cowboy songs // She only dances to cowboy songs (she only dances to cowboy songs)”

Congrats to Birge and his team on an impressive number one! We can’t wait for an even more exciting 2025!

Graham Barham Shares New Single “You Won’t Let Me Stay”

Graham Barham shares brand new single, “You Won’t Let Me Stay,” out now, December 13th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the new track below.

Sony Music Nashville recording artist, Graham Barham knows how to craft a catchy song with lyrics you have no choice but to pay attention to. Barham is on an absolute roll, releasing songs that speak to both his talent as a songwriter and his ability to create a catchy song that rivals artists like Morgan Wallen. Today, Barham is adding to his catalog with another new song called, “You Won’t Let Me Stay.”

In a recent press release, Barham shared some background behind the new single. “The song is really asking, ‘You want me here, but do you care for me?’ The story tellers in Nashville are unbelievable and I really have to credit this song to Lindsay Rimes. He brought the song to life. The way the production is pieced together is beyond what I thought it could be.”

Written by Barham with Cole Miracle, Lindsay Rimes, and Michale Whitworth, “You Won’t Let Me Stay” depicts the push-push of a relationship that cannot quite close the door for good. It’s an all too relatable feeling. The song conveys the message without feeling too repetitive. The song is full of clever lyrics and a beat that is hard not to groove to.

“How you change your mind // Girl it’s messing with my head // Think I’ll just drink tonight // Cuz if I end up in your bed  // You won’t let me stay, you let me stay // You won’t let me go, you won’t let me go, no // You don’t know if I”m a locked screen door // Or the lockscreen on your phone // I’ll be at the bar killing Casamigos // Racking up a shot count, Quentin Tarantino // Baby, you won’t let it be over // So, you won’t let me stay // You won’t let me stay // Sober, sober // Sober, sober”

We are excited to see what comes down the pipeline next for the singer-songwriter. “You Won’t Let Me Stay” is definitely worth listening to!

“This ain’t like any film that I recall // It ain’t exactly The Italian Job // This kinda shit is for soccer moms // Dyin’ to be young again // She’s dancin’ around the room // In a cheetah-print body-suit // Roll the credits when the scene is through // Of the story of a messed up kid”

When it comes to their rendition, the song features raw, untethered energy and a fun and funky instrumental arrangement. Between the drums, guitars, and twangy singing, this version of “Messed Up Kid” feels relatable, fresh, and exciting to listen to.

Noah Hicks Shares New Song “Door’s Unlocked”

Noah Hicks shares brand new song, “Door’s Unlocked,” out now, December 13th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the new track below.

Singer-songwriter, Noah Hicks has clearly found his sound over the years. The singer is wiser, even more talented, and ready to continue to take the country music world by storm. To close out 2025, fans can listen to Hicks’ brand new single, “Door’s Unlocked,” out today!

“People always say that when it’s over, it’s over. But sometimes you find yourself wondering what would happen if you left that door open,” shares the singer in a recent press release. “We wrote ‘Door’s Unlocked’ about that in between where you’re looking to rekindle a bit of what got away – even if it’s just for one night – and hoping that the other person feels the same way.”

The fiery new track has an undefined spark to it. “Door’s Unlocked” feels honest, relatable, and real, while still backed by an enticing production and catchy lyrics. It’s clear whenever Hicks has a hand in writing songs, the song is going to feel representative of his Georgia roots and country lifestyle.

“I heard you’re out tonight // I hope you’re doing good // Things are kinda quiet in my neck of the woods // Yeah, I’ve been staying in most of the time // Unless my phone blows up // I hit the county line and we do what we do out there // just wanted you to know if you get a wild hair // the door’s unlocked if the trucks in the driveway // The one you slammed when you said goodbye babe come on over come on in // We can do what we do so good again //

We are excited to see what comes down the pipeline next for the singer-songwriter. “Door’s Unlocked” is definitely worth listening to and one of our favorites of Hicks yet!

Who Is Tim Dugger? The Story Behind His Journey to Country Music

Who is Tim Dugger? The singer-songwriter joined us to chat about his journey to country music. Get to know the rising star here…

who-is-tim-dugger

Tim Dugger

The Beginning:

This week we’re highlighting Tim Dugger, an incredible recording artist from Roanoke, Alabama. We chatted with the singer-songwriter about his love of music, his path, and his most recent album. Keep reading to learn more.

“I grew up in a little town called Roanoke, Alabama. It’s a pretty small town. It was a dry county up til 2016, so very backwoods and not a lot going on down there, but I fell in love with music at a young age,” began the singer. “My dad was a truck driver and he would come home with all these cassette tapes from traveling around, he just had so many. […] I would say 95% of them were country and more classic country, a lot of Merle Haggard, a lot of trucking songs like Red Soul Vine. […] And of course 90s country music was on the radio when I was a kid I grew up on Alan Jackson and 90s country.”

While 90s country music was arguably his first love, Dugger honed his singing skills through church choir.“I started out singing in church and we would travel around the southeast singing at all kind of churches, doing gospel music.”

Eventually, at the age of fifteen, the singer and his parents helped him put together his first band. “It was one of those kind of started out playing at a bar with five people, and four of those people you were related to, and that’s kind of how it started,” shared the singer. Adding, “I was the youngest in the band by probably fifteen years or more. I’m from the school of thought that you have to be playing and being on stage and singing, and be out there, and get your honky tonk university [degree]. I did that for years and years.”

The Turning Point:

With a love for 90s country imbedded in his veins, Dugger truly only saw one path forward. He continued to sing all around with his band, while also making frequent trips to Nashville to record Nashville-quality demos.

“I didn’t live in Nashville at the time, I’m from about 5 hours from Nashville, and I’d commute back and forth to write and record, so at the time the demos I had were really good, they were Nashville quality. I was glad I wasn’t behind the eight ball on that, but you never know, country music goes through these waves here over the last ten years, but my shows can be kind of rock sometimes or lean a bit more traditional, but I”m not one of those that goes “that ain’t country or this ain’t country.” It’s a fun time to have music out.”

Eventually, as fate would have it, Dugger met a guy at one of his shows who was friends with a Nascar team owner, and he was asked to play a few shows. He got me booked at a couple of races, and that gave me an opportunity. I actually met Mike Curb on pit road at the Daytona 500 and gave him a CD, and that’s how I ended up with Curb Records, just by that meeting.” Shortly there after, Dugger signed with Curb Records.

Today:

Flash forward to today, Dugger is making a living as a signed singer-songwriter. The singer brings a rock flair to his country lyric by creating a sound that feels distinctly ‘him.’ Most recently, the artist released his album, Stars Over Alabama, which features thirteen songs, including eight that the singer had his hand in writing.

“When we were writing those songs, I didn’t know we were writing the album, I just knew I was cutting songs. I didn’t know if it was going to be an EP or a full album, and then about halfway through it, they were like you should cut another batch, and the best song ever wins, and Nashville is full of the best songs that we may never hear. […] So the best song always wins, but I love when I am able to write something.”

Dugger went on to add, “I like when I have a story to tell behind the guitar. […] “Most of it is stories I’ve lived or at least try to put that somewhere within the stories and songs that we’re writing.”

All of the songs on the record feel like getting to know the singer and his story, as well as, the music he loves and appreciates. While Dugger has been at this seemingly his whole life, it is clear that he is primed for a big 2025.

“My winter, like a lot of singers, slows down from touring, which is nice, but it’ll be all about writing. […] Definitely going to dive in, I have a lot to say. This year’s been a pretty wild ride. […] We’re going to be back on the road and keep putting out more music for everybody who likes this album.” Stay tuned!

Country Music Supports St. Jude

Curious as to why so many of your favorite artists and celebrities are rocking a ‘This Shirt Saves Lives’ t-shirt? Learn all about the special tee and how you can get one to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital here…

Country Music artists meet St. Jude patients while supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during the 35th annual Country Cares seminar on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

As a country music fan, year after year, it’s almost certain that you’ve found your favorite country music artists supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Whether through benefit concerts, posts on social media, or rocking the ‘This Shirt Saves Lives’ tee, it’s pretty clear that St. Jude holds a very special place in the country music community.

While the answer may seem obvious by brief definition alone, — St. Jude leads the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. To learn even more, Country Swag took a visit to St. Jude during the annual ‘Country Cares Seminar’ this fall.

Launched more than 30 years ago, Randy Owen from the band Alabama stood up during Nashville’s Annual Country Radio Seminar and asked his friends, colleagues, and radio partners to join together to help St. Jude and the children they serve, and so, the ‘Country Cares Seminar’ was born. The program unites more than 200 radio stations, influencers, and dozens of country music artists annually to raise awareness and support for St. Jude.

Country Music artists meet St. Jude patients while supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during the 35th annual Country Cares seminar on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

During the seminar, all guests are invited to tour St. Jude, located in Memphis, Tennessee, and see firsthand the inspirational work that the teams at St. Jude are doing. Upon the first introduction, guests learn about the organization and what exactly makes it so impactful and so special. Perhaps the most remarkable part is that thanks to very generous donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food. Families receive the best care in the world, at no cost, making the worst and darkest days of their lives a little bit brighter – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

In addition, St Jude’s research facility and labs are open 24/7 and freely share their findings, protocols, and breakthroughs, so that every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands of more children.

Thanks to generous donations, the brilliant teams at St. Jude have access to equipment that costs millions and millions of dollars, which just not all doctors and scientists everywhere have access to. This not only gives them the freedom to focus on what matters most — saving kids regardless of their financial situation, but they are able to share their discoveries and patients everywhere are getting treatments that were started at St. Jude. Consequently, when you’re donating to St. Jude, you’re not just donating to one hospital in one city, you’re funding the source and if speaking to cancer patients around the world, a common thread may be that many have been treated by protocols that have been sourced by St. Jude. St. Jude is actively working towards a world where no family ever has to hear the words “you have cancer”.

Seeing the work, hearing stories from doctors and patients alike, and understanding the experiences at St. Jude make it easy to recognize the importance of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and instantly inspires guests to get involved and help raise awareness. Next time you see your favorite artists talking about and supporting St. Jude it’s likely because they were able to have these experiences too and see firsthand the amazing work done at St. Jude.

Country Music artists meet St. Jude patients while supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during the 35th annual Country Cares seminar on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Words like “inspiring”, “joy”, “positivity” and “healing” are just some of the many terms that came to mind for country artists like Megan Moroney, Old Dominion, and Randy Owen, during their visit to St. Jude.

There are great research institutions, great hospitals, and great charities. St. Jude is all three. You can join the cause and help support St. Jude and the incredible initiative set forth by many country artists and celebrities alike with the ‘This Shirt Saves Lives’ t-shirt. For a monthly donation of just $19, you get the exclusive tee and all funds directly support the incredible St. Jude organization.

It costs over a million dollars daily to operate St. Jude each and every day. Donations allow St. Jude to continue to help children everywhere.
