Thomas Rhett Introduces Dos Primos Tequila with Cousin Jeff Worn

Reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year, Thomas Rhett surprised fans today (Monday, Jan 11), by revealing a brand new project: Dos Primos Tequila. In collaboration with his cousin, pecan magnate Jeff Worn, the two are working together to introduce the new ultra-premium tequila brand.

Spanish for “Two Cousins,” Dos Primos is a blanco tequila made from hand-harvested 100% blue agave sourced from estates in Los Altos and the valley area of Jalisco, Mexico. The finished product is crystal-clear with earthy herbal notes on the front palate, followed by smooth floral and citrus hints.

“Our decision to create a new tequila brand grew out of just loving being with family,” Rhett shared in a recent press release. “Jeff and I wanted to create a tequila that was expertly crafted and could be enjoyed year-round – regardless of the season or activity – with the people we care about most. Dos Primos is all about who we are and what’s important to us.”

As Rhett shared the exciting news with fans across social media, superstar duo Dan + Shay jokingly added,” do u need a theme song?” referring to their hit record “Tequila”. Country music fans can agree, a Dan + Shay and Thomas Rhett “Tequila” remix could be exactly what we all need.

Dos Primos is distilled at Destiladora González Lux, located just outside the city of Arandas, Mexico, in the highlands of Jalisco. Third-generation Master Distiller Rodolfo González, who worked with Thomas Rhett and Worn to create the product’s taste profile, oversees the distillation process to ensure every drop of Dos Primos exceeds standards and expectations.

Dos Primos will be available in a 750 ml bottle in select U.S. markets beginning January 2021. For more information or to find a retailer near you, visit DosPrimosTequila.com.

Lady A Earn 11th Career and Multi-Week # 1 with “Champagne Night”

Lady A’s “Champagne Night” earns them their 11th career and multi-week #1 hit song as the track sits at the top spot on the country charts this week.

Since their inception, the famed country music trio, Lady A have had their fair share of highs and lows as they navigate the country music world. With that being said, the talented singer-songwriters can officially say that they have eleven number one songs to their name. Most recently, their single “Champagne Night”, first introduced to the world by NBC’s hit show Songland,  has reached and maintained the number one spot on country charts for not one, but two consecutive weeks.

Songland has won the hearts of music lovers everywhere. The show features aspiring songwriters pitching songs to industry professionals, Shane McAnally, Ryan Tedder, and Ester Dean in the hopes of a famous act choosing to record their song. On Lady A’s episode of the show, the group chose to record a reworked version of Madeline Merlo’s song “Champagne Night.” Official songwriter credits have been given to Ester Dean, Shane McAnally, Andrew DeRoberts, Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood, Dave Thomson, Hillary Scott, Madeline Merlo, Patricia Conroy, Ryan Tedder, and Tina Gemza. This marks the first song from the show to be promoted as an official radio single, and now a number one hit.

Lady A Earn 11th Career and Multi-Week # 1 with "Champagne Night"

Lady A Earn 11th Career and Multi-Week # 1 with “Champagne Night”

“Raisin’ plastic cups to a life of luxury / C’est la vie on a Friday / We get dressed up in a blue jean tux / And we go where we don’t hear the highway / Don’t need doubles and bubbles / To get in all kinds of trouble / Out in country / Don’t need a crystal chandelier / To have a real good time / We’re drinkin’ beer on a champagne night / A champagne night”

The fast tempo and feel-good nature of “Champagne Night” is just one of the many reasons that the song was such a hit with fans. We’re sure when live shows resume that this will be one of the biggest songs on their setlist.

Josh Melton Drops New Song “One Day” Written with Old Dominion’s Brad Tursi

New artist Josh Melton’s new song, “One Day” is available now on all streaming platforms.

Josh Melton One Day

Back in August, we highlighted new artist Josh Melton in our Swag Spotlight series. With talent, charisma, and charm, the singer continues to shake up the country music scene in all the best ways. Most recently, Melton has released a brand new song called “One Day.”

The new track was written by the singer with Old Dominion’s Brad Tursi and hit songwriter Justin Ebach. With a start-studded group of songwriters like that, it is obvious that the new single has to be a good one. Melton does not disappoint, as “One Day” is the perfect addition to his song catalog. With a focus on positivity and good times, the track is as nostalgic as a song can get – the perfect song to kick off 2021.

“The bad news kinda hard to hear / As long as there’s still fish to fry and back porches still got Christmas lights / Imma keep on living my life / On my own time / Cause I ain’t waiting on one day / One day ain’t waiting on me”

Melton is poised at expressing himself through lyrics while giving fans a refreshing perspective and sonically-pleasing jam. Like his song “Staycation,” “One Day” is sure to land on playlists across the streaming platforms and in the hearts of country music lovers everywhere. We look forward to seeing what is coming down the pipeline next for the budding artist.

Morgan Wallen: ‘Dangerous’ The Double Album – Review

Morgan Wallen’s highly-anticipated record Dangerous: The Double Album is officially available now, January 8th on all streaming platforms. We spoke with the superstar about the process of writing the project, releasing it in 2021, and giving fans exactly what they want; a ton of new music. Check out the full virtual interview in the video below, then read further on and check out our full album review as we dig a little deeper into the music.

Morgan Wallen is an artist that is on the brink of superstardom with international recognition during his few years in the limelight. His debut record If I Know Me continues to garner him more and more fans and accolades, but his brand new sophomore album Dangerous is sure to secure his staying power. The double album is one of a kind, gritty, elevated, and creative, all qualities that Wallen clearly possesses in his own right.

With thirty songs in total, plus two bonus songs exclusively for Target buyers, the singer-songwriter shatters any expectations that fans or industry executives might have had for his sophomore project. Each of the songs convey a different side of Wallen’s personality, but they all bare a part of his soul and heart. He sings and writes about universal truths in love and heartbreak, but also expresses his undeniable gratitude for his country roots and values.

Disc one opens up with “Sand In My Boots,” a track that combines all the elements. Wallen recounts falling in love with a girl, who he thought accepted his upbringing and hometown. It turns out that was not the case, but still, the singer finds a way to convey some hope in the expressive song. Lyrics like “I said girl you never seen stars like the ones back home / And she said maybe I should see them for myself” make you envision a love affair like this one.

Previously released songs and fan-favorites “More Than My Hometown” and “7 Summers” both have a similar feel to the opening track. All create imagery like no other, and it’s clear that Wallen knows a thing or two about heartbreak. On the contrary, brand new song, “Silverado For Sale” creates imagery in a different way. The artist tells the story of falling in love and needing to sell his truck to have the life he wants with his soulmate. Simple, yet beautiful, the more you listen to the love song, the more you will recognize how certain gestures can touch your heart.

Wallen also included his rendition of “Heartless” and of course, “This Bar” on the record. The latter is reflective and personal. The singer shares personal accounts of his 21st birthday, a break-up, and other experiences that have helped him grow into the person he is today. His willingness to share and be honest with his fans through his music is one of the many reasons we have fallen in love with his artistry.

“Making mistakes and making new friends / I was growing up and nothing made sense / Learning how to live with a broken heart / I found myself in this bar”

That reflective nature is also evident in songs like “Whiskey’d My Way” and “Livin’ The Dream,” which both happen to be two of our favorites off the record. On the former, Wallen considers all the options that he could have used to get over his ex, admitting that whiskey was what worked. Singing that he should be in the “moving on hall of fame” and later declaring “Tequila made me crazy / Cold Beer wouldn’t do / So I whiskey’d my way over you” just further shows Wallen’s ingenuity with lyrics.

“Livin’ The Dream” which was pre-released with songs “Somebody’s Problem” and “Still Goin’ Down” reflects on a little bit more than a break-up. One of Wallen’s most honest and raw songs to date, “Livin’ The Dream” co-written by Wallen and HARDY, as well as, Ben Burgess and Jacob Durrett, expresses the less glamourous side of success and fame. With this song, Wallen gives fans a vulnerable account of his thoughts and feelings in what seems like a journal entry, including both his struggles with alcohol and his priorities.

Continuing to lean into the vulnerability, Wallen included a song with “Little Rain” vibes on the record. “Me on Whiskey” is flirty and sensual in all the best ways. “Outlaw” a collaboration with Ben Burgess also conveys a similar, yet hopeful message on finding and holding on to love. Wallen also collaborates with superstar, Chris Stapleton. Their song “Only Thing That’s Got” is a brooding, break-up song with killer guitar riffs and even better vocals.

Of course, it would not be a Wallen record if the singer didn’t include songs that were primed for concert season and live performances, as well as, express his immense pride for East Tennessee Roots. “Somethin’ Country,” “Beer Don’t,” “Still Goin’ Down,” “Country A$$ Shit,” and “Whatcha Think Of Country Now” all remind the listeners that Wallen is a good ole boy and proud of it. Out of the group of songs all primed for the stage, “Whatcha Think Of Country Now” is a standout.

“Half way down your first country mile / You called your mama said it’s gunna be a while / didn’t think way out was your style / but now you know what it’s about / whatcha think of country now”

Wallen also explored sonically with the title-track “Dangerous,” 865,” and “Warning.” All super catchy, both “Dangerous” and “Warning” explore a more hip-hop edge, while “865,” arguably a top pick off the record focuses on unique and exciting phrasing. Vocally, “865” challenges Wallen in the best way, but sonically, the song soars with a killer instrumental and phrasing that we just cannot get enough of.

The hitmaker said it best in a recent press release, sharing, “I know 32 songs sounds like a lot to digest, but I truly did my best to make sure there’s not a song that I would press ‘next’ on. I also wanted the songs to speak to multiple phases of life and have multiple different sounds based on my influences and based on what I enjoy.” Both sonically and lyrically, Wallen nailed it with this incredible project that is sure going to take him to next level!

Parker McCollum Drops New Track “To Be Loved By You”

Rising country singer-songwriter, Parker McCollum released a new single titled “To Be Loved By You” on New Year’s Day, available on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dive deeper into the track.

Parker McCollum

To Be Loved By You Parker McCollum

The Texas-native just received his first number one last week with his self-loathing smash-hit “Pretty Heart” and is immediately releasing new music. “To Be Loved By You” tackles a similar theme—his personal struggle with love and relationships. Listen below:

“So why are you always angry? / Why are you always quiet? / Why do you sleep alone? / When I know you don’t like it / Maybe you might be different / Will it kill you to tell me the truth? / What in the hell does a man have to do to be loved by you?”

Compared to his attitude in “Pretty Heart” and the entire Hollywood Gold EP, it sounds as though McCollum is slowly becoming less hard on himself. In this new song, he admits he has weaknesses but still feels he is the right man for this girl–he just cannot figure out what she wants in a lover.

McCollum is adding to his mainstream country catalog with this release, as he already has an extensive collection as an independent artist.

Hailey Whitters & Little Big Town Release New Years Treat “Fillin’ My Cup”

Hailey Whitters and Little Big Town made the first day of 2021 even sweeter by releasing their new song “Fillin’ My Cup”, perfect for raising spirits in these trying times. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the track.

Fillin' My Cup Hailey Whitters Little Big Town
It’s hard to believe that the most insane year in many of our lifetimes is over. While 2020 was, in many ways, the worst of times, a huge silver lining was the phenomenal music and art created in that time. Among that music was Whitters’ fantastic record, The Dream, released only a few weeks shy of lockdown. A true songwriter’s record is what was needed to get through the last 10 months, so what better way to start 2021 than with Hailey Whitters’ new perfectly-timed single, “Fillin’ My Cup”?

The song and it’s music video is filled with everything from fiddle to fashion. Written by Whitters, Nicolle Galyon (who also serves as Whitters’ label-head), and Hillary Lindsey is a neo-country sounding track (courtesy of co-production by Whitters and fiancé Jake Gear) all about trying to find the high’s within the inescapable lows of life. It’s sweet and new, yet nostalgic, and distinctively Whitters.

“It’s one part happy and one part chaos / Whole lotta borrowed, little bit paid off / You can’t appreciate the sugar if you never had the salt / Ain’t it nice and sweet even when it’s on the rocks?” Whitters is so good at figuring out how to tie universal and thoughtful messages of living with her own personal musings.

Just when you think the song can’t get better, between the stellar songwriting and Whitters and Little Big Town’s harmonies, Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman take the second verse. It’s not that the song needed Little Big Town, but having them on it added so much to it vocally, and it made the vibe even more fun and lively. Both have these dreamy, vintage aesthetics that reflect sonically, lyrically and visually. It’s a natural collaboration.

The end of the song is boot-stomping, honky-tonk happy. It coincidentally feels light in the way champagne does on New Year’s Eve. “Yeah, it ain’t the whiskey, it ain’t the wine / Though it sure goes good from time to time / With this high-low life, go and shake it on up / Yeah, that’s the stuff that’s fillin’ my cup”, they sing together on the final chorus.

In 2017, Little Big Town released “Happy People”, a standout Whitters and Lori McKenna co-write that opened their album The Breaker. Both Whitters and McKenna released their own versions of the lighthearted tune, and it’s the song that really kick-started Whitters’ career. This collaboration feels very full circle and characteristically hopeful. And after the year we’ve all had, there’s nothing we need more than hope.

Parker McCollum Lands First Number 1 Song with “Pretty Heart”

Parker McCollum’s “Pretty Heart” is officially a number one song, marking his first chart-topper of his career.

Rising country star and Texas superstar, Parker McCollum officially has a hit song to his name! The singer-songwriter’s major label debut “Pretty Heart” is the top song on the charts, representing a major feat for the talented artist.

The lead single “Pretty Heart” off McCollum’s EP, Hollywood Gold has been steadily climbing the charts for months. It is clear that the song has truly touched the hearts of fans across the nation. The achingly beautiful declaration of remorse for a break-up is the songwriting country music deserves.

“And what does that say about me / I could do you like I did / That I could break an angel’s wings / What does that say about me / Then I stood there like a fencepost / As you drove off in your car / What does it say about me / Now that I’ve broke your pretty heart / Your pretty heart”

Although McCollum may be new to the mainstream country music scene, he is an experienced singer and songwriter, who has released critically-acclaimed independent projects in the past. “Pretty Heart” going number one is just further affirmation that the singer-songwriter is one to look out for.

Fans can anticipate more new music out by the singer in the future, and we are definitely excited about it. Congrats to Parker and his team for all the success!

[Watch] Russell Dickerson Surprises Superfan With a Special Gift

Watch the heart touching video of Russell Dickerson surprising 17-year-old Sarah Frei with a very special gift.

Russell Dickerson Surprises Fan

This summer, one of Russell Dickerson’s biggest fans, 17-year-old, Sarah Frei was in a car with friends when they were hit head-on by a drunk driver. Unfortunately, Frei suffered major injuries becoming paralyzed from the waist down and becoming a double amputee. The accident however did not change her positive outlook and incredible spirit.

Her high school cheerleading team put together a dance routine to Dickerson’s “Home Sweet” which caught the singer-songwriter’s attention when it was posted on Instagram.

Dickerson continued to keep Sarah in his thoughts and teamed up with Chevrolet to surprise Sarah with a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse that has been outfitted for her specific needs by BraunAbilty.  Russell surprised Sarah during a video call earlier this week, and her reaction is what we all need to see at the end of this year.

Be sure to share this moment to spread joy during this holiday season.

Diplo Releases Deluxe Album Featuring “Bottle’s Bout Dead” with ERNEST

With the release of Diplo’s deluxe version of his album Snake Oil on Friday, December 18th, came his new song with ERNEST, “Bottle’s Bout Dead”.

While the original album, released in May, was Diplo’s debut country album, it was largely a crossover project. Diplo worked with artists from various musical genres and backgrounds including Thomas Rhett, Young Thug, Morgan Wallen, Cam, Blanco Brown, Zac Brown, Danielle Bradberry, Noah Cyrus, Julia Michaels, and Jonas Brothers. In addition to the already star-studded tracklist, the deluxe version now includes songs with ERNEST (“Bottle’s Bout Dead”) and Leon Bridges (“Horizon”).

“Bottle’s Bout Dead” is a metaphor for a relationship that is knowingly nearing its end. Comparing the relationship to a drink at the end of the night, it is as if you know the night is basically over, you just want to finish the last few sips before you call it quits.

“‘Cause this bottles ‘bout dead, just a couple more drops / that open sign’s on, but it’s ‘bout to turn off / this watered-down dream in the bottom of a glass / is all the proof we need, some things don’t last ”

Among a collection of songs that bounce back and forth from traditional country, this song is one of the more direct country songs on the album. Its unique and eclectic arrangement is perfect for a country fan that wants a more modern sound or for music fans in general that want a taste of country music’s incredible songwriting and vocals.

The album’s deluxe release with two additional songs should be able to hold fans over for a little longer as they await the release of Diplo’s ‘Chapter 2’ Album.

Fans can join our Weekly Round-Up e-newsletter here, for the latest in country music and more news about future ERNEST releases.
