Renee Blair Releases Brand New Song “Turn Up The Night”

Renee Blair’s new song, “Turn Up The Night” is out now, August 27th, on all streaming platforms.  Take a look below as we dig into the track.

We have been huge fans of Renee Blair since she first burst onto the music scene back in 2018. The talented singer-songwriter continues to impress with each new release. Although Blair typically releases songs that she co-writes, today she is releasing a track she did not have a hand in penning but fell in love with all the same. Her brand new song and fan-favorite, “Turn Up The Night” dropped today.

During our conversation with Blair, she shared how special this song is to her. “I feel like I have a little bit of a golden ticket by sheer ‘right place/ right song’,” she begins. “When he [Kane Brown] was working on the demo, I knew it was just an undeniable hit, an absolute smash.” Written by Kane Brown, Corey Crowder, Jordan Schmidt, and Matt McGinn, the song became hers after Brown passed on it for his latest project. “At the last minute when Kane didn’t end up putting it on his record, I kind of begged and pleaded, ‘will you guys please give me the chance to sing this song?'”

“Get everybody feeling right in the neighborhood // hey it’s the freaking weekend, we got to turn it to ten // Doing whatever we like // If we’re going out, it ain’t gunna be quiet // It’s going down, down / We bout to turn up the night”

The single is sassy and celebratory! The perfect song to jam to before a night out with friends. Blair manages to elevate the song vocally too. According to the songstress, “this song had been my show opener and still is, and probably always will be. It’s such a good way to kick off the live aspect and get the crowd hyped.”

Finally, Blair promises that more new music is on its way. Calling it a “party pack,” the singer has some more fun-loving songs coming out soon. She also hinted at a collaboration with a top female songstress in the industry, coming out in October. Stay tuned!

5 Things to Expect from Nelly’s Country-Inspired Upcoming Album

Superstar Nelly is going country! His country-inspired album, Heartland is due out this Friday, August 27th. It features collaborations with country artists like Blanco Brown, Florida Georgia Line, Darius Rucker, Chris Bandi, and more. After chatting with the megastar, we are giving you the inside scoop about what to expect from the brand new project.

Nelly - Heartland

Nelly’s country-inspired project ‘Heartland’ is due out this Friday, August 27th

  1. Nelly may not have listened to country music growing up, but he was still a country music fan.

“The way that I kinda got turned on to country music,” he shares, “my uncle was the one that turned me on to music, but what he made sure to do was he taught me to appreciate all music. All music is good.”

  1. His hit record Country Grammar inadvertently inspired his connection to country music and country music fans.

“I was getting so much love from the country music community ever since Country Grammar came out, they had been rocking with me. I didn’t know it would lead me to this moment, but I definitely knew that it was something special.”

  1. Heartland came to fruition due to the time Nelly got to create during the pandemic.

“What really allowed me to do this project was the pandemic. It allowed me time to sit down and think about how I was going to take these blessings from this whole different genre of music and salute them for showing me the love.” He declared later, “This album is my salute to the whole country world for showing Nelly so much love.”

  1. The new record is country-inspired because Nelly will never quite identify himself as a country artist.

“I’m just trying to tell my story and rock out, but the thing is my story connected with so many people that it allowed me to do this project today.”

5. The incredible collaborations were done intentionally!

“There’s no doubt about it that the majority of my features are these young African Americans [Breland, Kane Brown, Jimmie Allen] in this business of country music. That is definitely on purpose.”

Check back here on Friday, August 27th for our exclusive interview and full album review of Nelly’s Heartland.

NEW YORK COUNTRY SWAG REBRANDS AS COUNTRY SWAG TO REFLECT NATIONAL REACH

Founder Stephanie Wagner announces promotions and new hires at Country Swag as the company celebrates six years as the go-to source for country music in NYC and beyond

New York Country Swag, the company specializing in events, merchandise and entertainment news, has rebranded as Country Swag, effective immediately. The rebranding is announced in conjunction with the promotion of Erica Zisman to content manager, the hiring of Lauren Davidson as on-air host, and the transition of Alexa Ebner to the newly created position of sales manager.

Country Swag was launched in Dec. 2015 by Stephanie Wagner and has established itself as the go-to source for country music in NYC and beyond. In the six years since the company’s inception, Country Swag has hosted events with Russell Dickerson, hit-writer Nicolle Galyon, Teddy Robb and many more.

“New York City went 17 years without a local FM country radio station, so growing up here country music was not very prevalent in my life,” shares Country Swag founder Stephanie Wagner. “As I got older and started discovering more from the genre, I realized that there were many other like-minded fans who were eager for more country music in NYC. In an effort to be a resource for country fans, I created Country Swag– to provide events to go to, to alert them of shows heading our way, and to help them discover new artists. Since our launch, we’ve grown far beyond our home base in New York City and I’m very proud of the national reach we have obtained. Our merchandise ships daily across the country and each and every day we are hearing new stories of country music fans discovering new artists or new music directly from our platform.”

In addition to their devotion to showcasing Country music’s rising talent, Country Swag is also known for their unique clothing brand designed with modern-day Country music fans in mind. Country Swag recently teamed up with New York’s Country 94.7 and Walker Hayes to feed frontline workers during the pandemic through the profits from Country Swag’s ‘Kindness Isn’t Canceled’ tee. Additionally, through the sales of their ‘be kind’ beanies, Country Swag was able to donate knit hats to the homeless during the holidays, in partnership with Teddy Robb.

“One of the things I am most proud of is how loyal and dedicated our audience is,” continues Wagner. “Because of them, we’ve been able to raise funds and awareness for several organizations over the years through our merch collabs and artist partnerships. We’re announcing our next project very soon and are really looking forward to using our platform to continue to help make a difference while also bringing country music fans together.”

Luke Combs Releases “South On Ya”, SEC Football’s New Hype Song

Luke Combs’ new song, “South On Ya” is out now, August 26th, on all streaming platforms. The track serves as SEC Football’s latest hype song. Take a look below as we dig into the track.

Luke Combs has been a man of the people all quarantine long! The superstar consistently releases brand new music, keeping a ‘fans first’ mentality, always. He recently secured two more number one hits to add to his collection with “Forever After All” and “Better Together.” Additionally, Combs has teased numerous unreleased tracks over the past few months including “See Me Now” and “Good Old Days.” Today, in collaboration with SEC Football, the singer officially releases the latest hype song, “South On Ya.”

The song grew in popularity when Combs first teased the track earlier this summer and is slated to serve as the SEC Network’s 2021 college football anthem. “South On Ya” is as fun and rowdy as they come, proving that Combs is just a good old southern boy at heart. In the track, the singer pays homage to the fourteen teams in the football conference.

“Got a little dirt road dust runnin’ through our blood // From a never-heard-of-it hometown // Got a can’t-quit heart and some take-it-too-far // And a whole lot of never-back-down”

The southern anthem is a perfect fit for Combs’ impressive catalog of music. It is nice to see the singer have some fun on the one-of-a-kind jam!

Justin Moore Scores 10th Number One Hit with “We Didn’t Have Much”

Justin Moore scores his 10th number one hit with “We Didn’t Have Much.” The song marks his third consecutive chart-topper.

Over the course of his career, Justin Moore has remained a prominent figure in country music. The singer achieved his first number-one single back in 2009 with “Small Town USA.” Now, Moore and his fans can celebrate his tenth number-one single! “We Didn’t Have Much” is officially the number one song on the country charts.

Off his latest record Straight Outta The Country, “We Didn’t Have Much” is a standout track. The song is all about the nostalgia for simpler days and a simpler place. The timing for the song to reach the top of the charts is almost as perfect as the lyrics. “We Didn’t Have Much” is the third consecutive single of Moore’s to go number one. Both the poignant “The One’s That Didn’t Make It Back Home” and “Why We Drink” also found their way to the top.

“There was dirt on daddy’s clothes // From putting the bacon on mama’s stove // Dog barking in the yard cat a truck we didn’t know // All we had was us // And had a little bitty house and a lotta love // We had it all when we didn’t have much”

The song will always remind us to rejoice in the simple moments in love. Congrats to Moore and his team for another hit! “We Didn’t Have Much” is one of his best songs to date.

Who Is Dylan Schneider? The Story Behind His Journey to Country Music

Who is Dylan Schneider? The singer-songwriter joined us to chat about his journey to country music. Get to know the rising star here…

Dylan-schneider-new-music
The Beginning:

Growing up in Indiana, our Swag Spotlight artist this week, Dylan Schneider’s first love was sports. He grew up playing baseball and participating in choir but always had music lingering on the sidelines. “I didn’t really get into music until I was like fifteen or fourteen,” he tells us. Despite this, Schneider recalls getting his first guitar at only eight years old.

“I just didn’t really have the patience to learn at the time,” he admits. As he matured and realized baseball was not his true passion, Schneider found himself gravitating towards music even more and was eventually introduced to the country music genre.

Around the time he started listening to country music, Schneider found himself wanting to pick up the guitar again. This time he wanted an acoustic guitar. His parents surprised him with one just a few days before Christmas. Perfectly timed, the singer was able to get his guitar signed by someone he admired, Brett Eldredge. An early influence, Eldredge grew up close to Schneider. “That was a huge inspiration from the very beginning and after that, it just stuck with me. I started teaching myself to play and writing songs after that.”

The Turning Point:

After high school, Schneider hit the ground running with music. He developed a large social media following on YouTube and committed to playing music for a living. In 2016, the artist made the big move to Nashville. “I kind of just decided I wanted to do it,” he shared. “I just loved music so much and playing shows.”

Schneider added, “I always said regardless I wanted to go to Nashville and play at the bars. As long as I could make a living, make some money, I wanted to do music, because I loved it so much.” The singer found so much freedom in music and that was special to him.

Combining his electric love of musical genres like rock (Nickelback), rap, pop, (Justin Bieber, One Direction), and country, the singer was able to create music that felt authentic to him. “As I grew up, I kind of went through a phase where I wanted to be a rockstar. I had a phase where I thought I wanted to be a rapper. […] Eminem was somebody that I really liked. Drake, Lil Wayne, kind of in the beginning of middle school,” he recalls.

His grind in Nashville and his love for music catapulted Schneider to play on stages with artists like Florida Georgia Line, ultimately leading him to his first record deal and a slew of successful EPs.

“At the end of the day, I love that there are so many different influences going into country music right now. People like Sam Hunt, I think that stuff’s cool. It’s individuality. You’re telling your story anyway, it doesn’t really matter what people have to say or what’s right or wrong. As long as it sounds cool.”

Today:

Now, Schneider is a BBR Music Group artist with even more fans and music under his belt. The singer has truly found his sound and his home in Nashville. He continuously makes music that his fans fall in love with, without losing the authenticity that he has had all along.

Most recently the singer debuted his first major-label single, “Lost In A Small Town.” The song started to take shape at the end of 2019. “I threw out this line that was like ‘she’s the kinda girl that would leave you lost in a small town,’” begins Schneider. During a write with his producer and his friend, Gabe, the song would go on to live many lives.

Despite the fact that it was finished, Schneider felt that it was not good enough, and the men redid the entire song. “We ended up writing the song twice and it stemmed from an entirely different song.” Now the singer says,  “I like the way it is now and I’m excited about it.”

The song is a fresh way to share about a break-up in a small town. Instead of focusing on the girl, the song really focuses on how it feels to feel like everything in your life is different. The perspective change and unique story-telling makes the song a great one.

If that is not exciting enough, Schneider promises that more new music is coming down the pipeline. Switching it up from what he has done in the past, the singer has decided to release individual songs over the next few months. “Each song is going to have their opportunity to be heard.” The singer promises that there are a lot of songs that are ready to release. The next song should come in the upcoming weeks.
