Kacey Musgraves surprised fans with a brand new song “star-crossed” and announces a forthcoming album of the same name, due out on September 10th.
Superstar Kacey Musgraves is one of the most uniquely talented artists on the music scene today. The GRAMMY-award winner has made a name for herself through praise from the industry and a loyal fanbase. Earlier this week, she announced her brand new album and released the title track “star-crossed.” Additionally, Musgraves shared the news of a film for the project also being released on September 10th.
The highly-anticipated fourth studio album follows the 2018 success of Golden Hour. Keeping with the etherealness of her past music, “star-crossed” is wonderfully beautiful. The song is both mesmerizing and entrancing, words you do not usually use to describe a country song. About a minute into the song, Musgrave’s piercing vocals begin. She effortlessly sets the stage for what will be a magnificent project and film.
“What have we done? // Did we fly too high just to get burned by the sun? // No one’s to blame // “Cause we called all the angels to save us // Called them by name // But I guess they got lost // Star-crossed”
The upcoming record features fifteen tracks in total. The film can be viewed on September 10th exclusively on Paramount+.

Keith Urban’s new song “Wild Hearts” is out now, August 19th, on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new track.
We haven’t heard much new music from the Keith Urban since the first release of his two-part project, The Speed of Now Part 1 back in September of 2020. His current single off the project, “One Too Many”, with P!nk is still climbing the charts, becoming Urban’s 43rd Top 10 in the US and reaching #1 in Canada and Australia. Separate from this project, Urban also appeared on two songs on Taylor Swift’s album Fearless (Taylor’s Version).
Well, new music is finally here! (and hopefully the first of many leading into an inevitable Part 2 ???) “Wild Hearts” is Urban’s latest release and it is yet another song from the artist with a sound like no other and is a testament to the evolution of not just Urban’s music but of the collective genre. He is constantly elevating himself, which in turn helps to raise the bar for the rest of the genre.
When it comes to songwriting, Urban doesn’t often dive deep into details about his own life. While he pulls from his own experiences, of course, he tends to write more generally, perhaps to have a broader reach when it comes to relatability – with some exceptions. Although the message Urban shared in “Wild Hearts” can in fact apply to so many, the track pulls from Urban’s own journey specifically in ways he has seldom done before.
“Saw the man in black, spotlight in the air, heard a thousand screams, saw my dad’s stare // Feel like I’ve been running since the day that I was born, Eagle on my back, Phoenix on my arm”
From the start, these lyrics speak to what inspired Urban from the time he was young, a Johnny Cash concert with his Dad. He also adds the tattoo that can be seen every time he plays the guitar, a phoenix on his arm. A symbol of rebirth and rising from the ashes and something that he must deeply believe in and live by given not only the tattoo and its mention here, but the fact that it is also Urban’s noticeable logo. As well as the eagle tattoo on his back, a symbol of freedom, clearly, two aspects that Urban has lived by on his journey.
“Wild Hearts”, co-written by Urban, Brad Tursi, Jennifer Wayne, and Eric Paslay, goes on to be an incredibly inspiring message for anyone that may have doubts about chasing a dream, from a guy who has done it himself.
After the chorus and another one-of-a-kind Urban bridge, right in the middle of the song, Urban brings down the music and switches the vocal to make it seem as though he is speaking directly to the listener, a message he really wants them to hear. Quite literally saying “Now Listen”…
“Has anyone ever told you you’ll never amount to anything? // You’re just wasting your time chasin’ the tail of a dragon kind of a dream // But I’m here to tell you anything can happen in this life // If you got the heart and the passion and a God lit fire inside”
“Wild Hearts” dares its listeners to walk away without being inspired.
Urban’s 2020 US tour was put on hold, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but is expected to resume in 2022. He returns to the stage with a handful of US shows late this summer, followed by his Caesars Palace run in the Fall, and in December, he will kick off his ‘Speed of Now World Tour’ in Australia. Currently, the international superstar is staying busy as a judge on The Voice(AU).

Old Dominion’s new song “All I Know About Girls” is out now, August 20th, on all streaming platforms. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new track.
After releasing the jam of the summer, “I Was On A Boat That Day,” Old Dominion shows no signs of slowing down. As we anticipate their next full-length record, the platinum-selling band is giving us more music to hold us all over. Today, Old Dominion dropped their new song “All I Know About Girls.”
The song is a vibe in itself. The simple instrumentation paired with the enticing lyrics is the perfect combination. Lead singer, Matthew Ramsey croons on the track, as he sings about the irony of knowing “nothing” about girls. The song is so easy to listen to and will get caught in any listener’s head.
“I’m a jack of all trades and master of none // A renaissance man if there’s ever been one // I got a pretty good handle on a lot of things // But I ain’t figured out everything // Cause all I know about girls is this wide world ain’t gonna spin without em // But it’ll spin around them // All I know about girls is you best get out of their way // Shut your damn mouth if they got something to say”
The intricate lyrics empower women and remind men to put their girl on a pedestal. Old Dominion continuously creates music that is innovative and special. We are looking forward to their next release!
The brand new jam joins “I was On a Boat That Day” as the first two songs off Old Dominion’s upcoming studio album. The band announced today that their next record Time, Tequila & Therapy will drop on October 8th. Fans can pre-order the new project now!

Runaway June are back with their newest EP titled backstory, out today, August 20th on all streaming platforms. Check out our full review and listen to the new music below.
We have been big fans of all-girl trio Runaway June since their inception. The ladies first hit the country music scene with the release of their debut project back in September 2018. Now, Naomi Cooke, Natalie Stovall, and Jennifer Wayne come together with three perfectly executed songs on their brand new EP backstory.
“These three songs tell the stories and paint the picture of the heartbreak, joy & freedom that comes along with growing up & moving forward. They represent the road to loving yourself and ultimately someone else,” Runaway June shares on their Instagram. It is clear that the songstresses knew exactly what messages they wanted to convey with their new project.
The first song “Forgot About That” is one of those nostalgic songs that will get suck in your head. Lyrically, the song expresses all the feelings and the memories that rush to the surface, when you run into your ex. The concept is as relatable as can be. We all know what it is like to forget the bad and only remember the good.
“Down The Middle” is a heart-achingly beautiful ballad. The song is palpable, conveying how we all feel when our heart gets broken. Runaway June do not try to sugarcoat or gloss over the heartbreak. They simply share that pain is something you have to go through in order to find your way back to love.
Finally, “T-Shirt” is the up-tempo track off the record. The song is all about female empowerment. The ladies of Runaway June take charge of their lives, refusing to go back to a relationship that no longer serves them. The songstresses express how it feels to find your voice and finally learn your worth in a relationship and in love.
backstory is the perfect reintroduction to Cooke, Stovall, and Wayne. Runaway June showcase, where they have come from with this there-song EP. We cannot wait to learn more about where they are now and where they are headed through their music in the future.
The new project comes just in time for the ladies to hit the road for their stint on Luke Bryan’s ‘Proud To Be Right Here Tour.’ For tickets and more information, head to runawayjune.com.

Kane Brown’s brand new song, “One Mississippi” is out now, August 20th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the new track here. Take a look below as we dig into the new track.
Brown continues to explore and expand his sound with each new song he releases. “One Mississippi” comes on the heels of his most recent single “Memory” , Brown’s release with blackbear last month. “Memory” was not the first time Brown explored cross-genre collaborations. He had hit songs not too long ago with Marshmello on “One Thing Right” and with Swae Lee and Khalid on “Be Like That”. Brown has also enjoyed in-genre success with collaborations as well, most recently with fellow country artist Chris Young. Their song “Famous Friends” went number one earlier this summer.
The diverse sound and musical range that Brown demonstrated in those songs alone can be seen at different points throughout “One Mississippi”. Brown is among the new generation of country music that is constantly mixing in new sounds and hints of other genres to redefine what country music is today and “One Mississippi” is a perfect example of this.
“One Mississippi” is about two people who are always on and off with each other but when they run into each other at this bar, they know they’ll be on again after tonight. Once they bump into each other, it’s just a countdown until they’re together again. The feelings of lonely drunk and deja vu come over them and they know it’s only a matter of time until they’re leaving the bar together.
“One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three shots of Whiskey // Are you on your way // When it tips you, baby come kiss me // I can’t wait, I can’t wait // One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three in the morning // we’ll be on our way // so tipsy, can’t stop kissing // I can’t wait, I can’t wait forever”
You can catch Brown on the Blessed and Free Tour, kicking off this fall with special guests Jordan Davis, Chase Rice, and Restless Road. The 35-city tour hits the New York City Area on November 5th at Barclays and on January 15th at Madison Square Garden.

Country superstar, Luke Bryan releases a new emotional track titled “Songs You Never Heard.” The song, written by Luke Laird and Josh Osbourne, was released in honor of his late brother, Chris, and alongside his new docu-series Luke Bryan: My Dirt Road Diary.
In this acoustic, melancholy track, Bryan mentions the songs he and his late brother, Chris used to sing along to and the ones Chris would’ve loved had he been alive prior to their releases, such as “Run” by George Strait and “In Color” by Jamey Johnson. As he is reminiscing, Bryan claims he can hear his brother singing along in the car with him, even to the ones he never got to hear. Although his mom would disagree, Bryan states that if Chris was alive today, he’d be Bryan’s number one fan.
“Time marches on, there’s a lot of new // music and memories we’d be drinking to // I think about it and I laugh until it hurts // ‘Cause I can hear you singing along // to songs you never heard”
Bryan’s five-part docu-series premiered on IMDB’s streaming platform earlier this month and touches on Bryan’s life, backstory, career, and how he dealt with the tragedies his family endured. It is unclear whether “Songs You Never Heard” will make an upcoming album or just be part of this new documentary, as “Waves,” Bryan’s current single, is climbing the airplay charts.

Superstar Nelly collaborates with Blanco Brown and Breland on their new song “High Horse,” out now. Take a look below as we dig into the song.
Multi-platinum-selling superstar Nelly has dipped his toes into the country world a few times over the years. Now, the rapper is solidifying his staying power in the genre officially releasing a country-inspired album Heartland, due out on August 27th. Last week, Nelly released the second song off the project, “High Horse,” featuring Blanco Brown and Breland.
Full of country twang and vocals, “High Horse” is another funky collaboration. Similar to Nelly’s collab with Florida Georgia Line, “Lil Bit.” The three artists are proving that genre lines do not need to be so solid. Brown, Breland, and Nelly combine all their unique talents and voices in a song that is truly a genre of its own.
“Get up off that high horse // Get up off of this train // Get up off of that high horse // And drop that thing on me // Get up off of that high horse // Get up off of this train // Get up off of that high horse // And drop that thing on me”
Nelly has had crossover success in the country genre since 2004 with Tim McGraw on “Over and Over” He is in a league of his own. It is encouraging to see him take other promising artists under his wing. Blanco Brown and Breland are both rising stars in their own right!

Dan + Shay’s new album Good Things, released today, August 13th is officially available on all streaming platforms. The record features number one songs “Glad You Exist”, “10,000 Hours” with Justin Bieber, and “I Should Probably Go To Bed.” Check out the full review below.
In a time of chaos and uncertainty in the world, we could all use some good things, and Dan + Shay have certainly delivered. With the release of their fourth full-length album, the aptly titled Good Things, out now August 13, the harmonic pair have provided the perfect summer soundtrack. With twelve new tracks of buoyant and bouncy country-pop, Dan + Shay are offering up a hearty dose of ‘good things’.
The record follows in the footsteps of their 2018 smash self-titled album, which included “Tequila,” “All to Myself,” and “Speechless.” When announcing the new release back in July, the pair took to Instagram, writing, “We poured every bit of our hearts into this project and have never been more excited for anything in our entire lives.”
Each song on Good Thingswas produced and co-written by Dan Smyers, while Shay Mooney also leant his hand to co-writing on eight of the album’s tracks. Other co-writers and co-producers include Nashville heavy-hitters Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley, Dave Barnes, Andy Albert, Jordan Reynolds, and Old Dominion’s Brad Tursi. For the project, Dan + Shay also enlisted some big names from the pop world, including Julia Michaels, Shawn Mendes, and Justin Bieber on the previously released, “10,000 Hours”.
Opening with the album’s airy and melodic “Good Things,” Dan + Shay wish an ex well. With its anthemic chorus over rousing beats, the song is both the perfect album opener and the perfect introduction to this era of Dan + Shay. On this track, they’re eternally optimistic, moving on but wishing her well.
“When it’s late at night // And you’re still wide awake // If you’re with your friends or you’re lonely // When you hear somebody start to say my name // Oh when you think of me // I hope you think good things”
That almost tropical feel continues throughout the album, highlighting its way through songs such as “Steal My Love,” and “Body Language.” Likewise, “Irresponsible” is a mid-tempo yet sultry ode to a booty call that may be wrong, but feels oh-so-right. “I’m still gettin’ over the last time, we said it’s the last time,” they admit of their tryst, wondering “How’d we end up here, in the same room?”
While the album definitely embraces up-tempo tracks, the duo’s softer side is still evident on Good Things. “You” is the type of song that fans have come to expect from Dan + Shay, as they celebrate the love of a lucky woman. “If all else goes wrong // Baby, I’ll be alright // ‘Cause I got you.”
Meanwhile, “One Direction” is another such track, and despite its name, it’s sadly not an ode to Harry, Niall, Liam, and Louis. Instead, it’s a love song that shows Mooney flexing his vocal chops, proclaiming his desire to carpe diem in a relationship. “Cause time only moves in one direction // These are the nights we won’t get back // Don’t wanna waste one single second // Don’t want the starts to fall so fast,” they sing. “Cause someday we’ll be sayin’ how // We wish we could turn back around // Time only moves in one direction // Come on, get closеr, come, let me hold you now”
Getting over an ex is a theme on many of the album’s songs, including “Let Me Get Over Her,” a moody piano-driven prayer of desperation to move on. Meanwhile, “Lying” takes on a similar topic in a very different musical way. If there’s something oddly familiar about the track, it’s the piano melody of the Bill Withers classic “Lean on Me” that weaves its way through the song. “I don’t miss you in my bed // I don’t hear you in my head,” they sing. “I don’t love you, I’m not cryin’ // And I swear, I’m not lyin.”
With a mix of airy up-tempo songs and the ballads that Dan + Shay have become known for, Good Things is the perfect album title, delivering good things in spades.
