Aaron Watson Releases Fun New Single “Kiss That Girl Goodbye”

Kiss That Girl Goodbye

Independent country artist Aaron Watson is kicking off the new year with a brand new feel-good, boot-stomping song entitled “Kiss That Girl Goodbye.” It is the lead single and one of twenty songs the vocalist wrote for his upcoming studio album Red Bandana, which is slated for release later this year.

The self-penned, uptempo tune has Watson preaching about leaving a previous relationship in the past and moving onto better things. He sings in the chorus, “That boy can kiss that girl goodbye / Just like a red-eyed flight / Two tail lights in the night / You’re gonna spread your wings and fly / That boy can kiss that girl goodbye / Just like a westbound train / You’re drinking cheap champagne / You got no more tears to cry / And you’re long gone like a whisper in the wind / That boy can kiss that girl goodbye”

In a recent press release, Watson shared the writing process behind the sure to be hit, “I wanted to come out of the gates with a fast, fun, boot-stomper that sounds great on radio and gets the fans dancing. I actually wrote it late one night after meeting a girl at my show who was in tears after being stood up on a date. My little girl Jolee Kate loves it and says it has GIRL POWER! Thanks to all of you for supporting me, my music, and my family.”

The Texas native will head out on the first leg of his 2019 headlining tour this month which will through the spring and hit New York City on March 2nd at Terminal 5. The show includes sets from Watson, Eli Young Band, Pat Green, and Kyle Park, and tickets are available here. Visit https://www.aaronwatson.com for a full list of dates and additional information.

“Kiss That Girl Goodbye” is now available everywhere you stream or purchase music. Take a listen below.

[Listen] Adam Doleac Releases “Famous” and “Puzzle of Us”

One of our 2018 Artist to Watch alum, Adam Doleac gave country music fans a real treat by releasing two singles to kick off the new year. Followers were lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the songs before they were released last night on his Instagram. It’s no surprise Doleac continues to establish himself and make a name in country music as “Famous” and “Puzzle of Us” are catchy, heartfelt songs that will undoubtedly be fan favorites.

Adam Doleac Famous & Puzzle of Us

“Famous” is showcasing the undeniable feeling about someone who you are utterly amazed by. With lyrics like “Girl, you look famous, like South Beach or Vegas,” Doleac is putting his love interest on a pedestal. The lyrics can make anyone fall in love with this easily relatable song which was co-written with Bobby Hamrick and Andy Skib.

Adam Doleac Famous & Puzzle of Us

“Puzzle Of Us” was inspired by a man Doleac met in a bar who had an entire sleeve tattooed on his arm with one piece missing. As he explained on his Instagram post, he asked why the piece was missing, and the man said: “Give me three minutes and I’ll show you.” When a woman came back and sat down, she had a tattoo right where he didn’t have his, it was her only tattoo.  Needless to say, they completed each other through tattoos and Doleac and his co-writer Anthony Smith turned that story into a sentimental love song.

Doleac is proving he is here to stay and these two singles are just a snippet of what is to come from him. Be sure to check out both of these songs below and stay up to date on tour announcements and new music at https://www.adamdoleac.com.

Ryan Hurd Drops New Song “Michigan for the Winter”

Ryan Hurd Michigan for the Winter

RCA recording artist, Ryan Hurd has released his first new song of the year entitled “Michigan for the Winter.” The mid-tempo ballad, penned by Hurd, Aaron Eshuis and Neil Mason of The Cadillac Three, illustrates the story of the singer-songwriter heading to his home state of Michigan to ward off a bad breakup without entirely giving up hope. He sings in the chorus, “But, just in case you wanna change your mind / I’m lettin’ you know where you can find me / 46th Street, that first right turn / Down a dirt road watching that wood stove burn / I’m either waiting out your memory / Or for you don’t wanna come back to me / Whichever comes first until it don’t hurt no more / I’ll be up North / I’m going to Michigan for the winter”

The track is currently featured on Spotify’s ‘New Boots’ playlist, while his previous single “To A T” is being featured on the ‘Hot Country’ playlist.  Hurd will head out on his four-date sold-out headlining tour this month, which will stop in New York City on January 25th at Bowery Ballroom. Teddy Robb Releases Honest New Single “Really Shouldn’t Drink Around You”

Teddy Robb Really Shouldn't Drink Around You

Country music newcomer and one of our 2019 Artists to Watch, Teddy Robb has released his second single entitled “Really Shouldn’t Drink Around You.”  Robb recently signed with Monument Records and his debut single “Lead Me On” has already garnered over 4 million streams.

Written by Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, and Trevor Rosen, the track is laid back and explains the decisions that are made when drinking around an ex, suggesting maybe it isn’t always the best idea.  Not only does the track feature some of Nashville’s finest songwriters, but it was also produced by hit-making producers McAnally, Ben Fowler, and Matt McGinn.

Robb sings in the chorus, “I really shouldn’t drink around you / It’s a risk, it’s a gamble / Little more than I can handle / Just a touch of a buzz is enough to get me thinkin’ things / I really shouldn’t think about you / We end up on the fast track / Gettin’ back to where we left the past at / You think I would’ve learned my lesson by now but I never do / I really shouldn’t drink around you”

The singer-songwriter took to his Instagram to share his excitement for the song’s release, “I couldn’t be any more excited about choosing this as our second song to release. What I love about country music is the stories the songs tell and how they can take you to a certain place and time. Every time I sing this song I can’t help but smile and think about that certain someone that I REALLY shouldn’t drink around! I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”

The song is currently being featured on Spotify’s ‘New Boots’ playlist and Apple Music’s ‘Breaking Country’ playlist.

Be sure to follow and keep up with Robb on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for future announcements and song releases. “Really Shouldn’t Drink Around You” is now available everywhere you stream or purchase music.  Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Brett Young Releases Song “Catch” & Acoustic Video

Fans have been eagerly anticipating the next album from breakout star, Brett Young and the wait is almost over. As we gear up for the release of Ticket to L.A., which drops December 7th, the singer unveiled a new song from the forthcoming record, “Catch”, accompanied by a video of an acoustic performance of the song.

NYCountry Swag first heard “Catch” back in September, seen in the post above, when the singer teased new music at Nash FM 94.7’s Hackensack Meridian Health Stage 17 in New York City, during a special Up Close & Country recording with the entertainer. According to a recent press release, Young shared, “‘Catch’ is about that person, who comes along when you least expect it and completely changes all your plans. I think most of us have felt that way at some point – being so captivated by someone that nothing else seems to matter, so I hope fans can really connect with this one.” The track features catchy lyrics with a fresh take on the singer’s signature sound that fans know so well, due to the mega-success with his debut album.

For the stripped down performance of the song in partnership with Vevo, Young sung the heartfelt lyrics, while a guitarist provided some acoustic guitar in the background. The song takes on a different feel than the melody of the recorded track, seemingly more like some of the singer’s hit love songs like “In Case You Didn’t Know”. As usual, Young’s style shines through in both the recorded and acoustic version of “Catch.” Check out the performance below.

New Yorkers, who want to ‘catch’ a live performance of this song and sure to be others off the new record, can purchase tickets for the special ‘CMT on Tour Presents: Brett Young’ concert heading to New York City’s PlayStation Theater on Sunday, December 9th. Special guests Tyler Rich and Rachel Wammack will also be performing as openers for Young. Make sure you are following @NYCountrySwag on Instagram for snaps from the night.

Take a listen to ‘Catch’ below and check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.

NYCS First Impression: Tucker Beathard ‘Nobody’s Everything’

“Sometimes following your heart means not knowing where you’re going, how you’re going to get there, who’s going with you, when it’ll pay off or when it’ll make sense as to why you followed it in the first place.” This is the sentiment expressed by country singer-songwriter Tucker Beathard today via his Twitter, about his journey to album release day. After a less than easy journey to “make it” in country music, his debut album, Nobody’s Everything is finally available. The record is truly one of a kind and an inside look into Beathard’s feelings and growth as not only an artist and musician, but as a human being.

The first half of a two part album was released today which features nine tracks, including “Leave Me Alone”, which the singer dropped a music video for earlier in this week. The second part of the LP is slated to drop early 2019, with nine more songs to look forward to. Beathard depicts the independent album as authentic to who he is, which one can attribute to the project’s refreshing sound, story-telling lyrics, and overall vibe.

The record is the entertainer’s unapologetic take on the events he has experienced in his life, beginning with the first track entitled “Ride On”. The song encourages listeners to keep the past in the past and continue to “Ride On” to one’s soul’s journey. Co-written by Beathard, it is easy to see how his experiencing becoming an independent artist inspired the lyrics: “I always act like I don’t care / When the black tops go nowhere / Keep my head down, tough it out, don’t think about how life ain’t fair / And Ride On”.

With a similar lyrical vibe of “Leave Me Alone,” a therapeutic and emotive track about wanting closure, “Hate It” is another heartbreaking song, where the singer tries to work through feelings of still wanting a broken relationship. The song is another example of a track, where Beathard pours his heart out, singing some of the most honest lyrics that can be written. “I just don’t want to see you with anyone, but me / Now I can barely breathe, drowning in my jealousy/ I know, I never been the kind to leave my heart out on the line / it’s too damn hard to fake it and keep saying that I’m fine / I hate it / I still love you and I hate it”

Keeping with the theme of honesty, “This Life” follows “Hate It,” as the second to last song on the record. Beathard premiered a music video for the vulnerable track with Billboard today. Check out the video above. Although the song can be about a lot of different circumstances, for the singer, his inspiration stemmed from being a teenager in the music industry, who was susceptible to “sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll”. This song is real, raw, and emotional, exactly what country music is all about.

Finally, Beathard closes the record out with the heartfelt, “How Gone Will I Go”. The beautiful notion about this track is that it can be applied to some many facets of life and, depending what a person’s going through, it can evoke a different type of message and emotion for each person. “I’ll be back, sure goes with denial / It’s so easy to say, to tell me why I ain’t so / How gone will I go? (3x) / Tell me I ain’t that gone”

Overall, Nobody’s Everything may be one the most honest and raw albums that have been released this year. Beathard’s musical ability and songwriting talent, far surpasses that of any former released songs by the artist. He has entered a different realm of artistry, that we can only hope will continue, during ‘Part 2’ of the record. Follow Beathard’s journey on social media and head to tuckerbeathard.com for future tour information.

Nobody’s Everything is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.
