Carrie Underwood’s New Song “Ghost Story” is HERE
Carrie Underwood’s new song, “Ghost Story” is out now, March 18th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.
A new Carrie Underwood era has arrived! Today, March 18, Underwood released ‘Ghost Story’, the first single from a highly anticipated new album (title still unknown) and it was worth the wait. Though the country superstar has released multiple projects in the past few years including two Christian albums, My Gift and My Savior, and multiple duets with DAN + SHAY, NEEDTOBREATHE, Jason Aldean, and Latin pop star David Bisbal, “Ghost Story” is the first new solo country track since Underwood released her 6th studio album, Cry Pretty back in September of 2018.
The writers behind “Ghost Story”, David Garcia, Hillary Lindsey, and Josh Kear, are all credited with multiple smash hits in Underwood’s impressive discography, and this track is bound to be no different. Produced by GRAMMY-winning producer David Garcia and Underwood herself, “Ghost Story” is a break up anthem about haunting a lost lover. With its catchy chorus, descriptive imagery, and unique rhythms unlike anything the American Idol alum, mom of two, and entrepreneur has done before, the song showcases what Underwood does best; using her incomparable vocal range to tell a story. The track is dynamic and engaging from beginning to end, and the driving drum beat keeps the energy up even in the softer sections of the song.
“You’ll hear a noise, swear you know the voice // And you’ll chase it down the stairs // You’ll look around, not a single sound // ‘Cause there’s no one even there // I’m gonna be your ghost story // That keeping you up all night memory // I’ll be haunting you, you’ll be wanting me // I’m gonna be your ghost story”
Playing new songs live for fans is always a highlight for artists on the road, and Underwood could get that chance as soon as next week when she returns to Las Vegas to resume her REFLECTION residency at Resorts World. With residency performances scheduled through the end of May and a new album on the way, Underwood will have plenty of opportunities to play around with visual and performance elements to make “Ghost Story” a tour favorite.
