The Final NYCountry Swag x Manhattan By Sail Feat. Kalie Shorr

Finishing out our incredible summer season, NYCountry Swag’s final Manhattan By Sail, Country Edition took place on October 11th and we had special guests, Kalie Shorr and Lauren Davidson. Shorr had just released her debut album, Open Book and performed songs from the project, as well as an Alanis Morisette cover and “Truth Hurts” by Lizzo.

Davidson, also celebrating the release of new music, sang her newest track “Soaking Up Every Second” as well as a 90s pop medley that had the guests of the sail dancing and singing along.

We thank Manhattan By Sail for collaborating and bringing our followers and country music to the NY Harbor. We are already looking forward to the spring and summer season of 2020 and more country music sails.

NYCS x Manhattan By Sail Featuring Jessica Rose & Baker Grissom

Last Friday evening (September 27th), we set sail on our 3rd Manhattan By Sail Country Edition with followers and country music fans alike. What’s better than the ocean breeze, stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and country music? Nothing. We teamed up with Manhattan By Sail for another Country Edition sail last Saturday, September 27th and once again country music fans boarded the Clipper City to make memories they will never forget. Check out the full recap video of the special night below.

After boarding, patrons grabbed a cold drink on a beautiful clear evening and found their spots as the boat sailed into the harbor. After our founder Stephanie Wagner and our Managing Editor, Christina Bosch thanked everyone for attending our first musical guest grabbed the mic to entertain the ship.

Staten Island local, Jessica Rose kicked things off with a high-energy set including some of her own songs and some of our favorite cover songs. She had the boat singing along on “Sweet Home Alabama” as well as “Redneck Woman” and her original, totally appropriate for the setting, “Floatin'”. While guests took pictures in front of the Statue of Liberty, Rose showcased her spunky talent and incredible vocal abilities.

Up next was Arkansas native, singer-songwriter Baker Grissom. Grissom had flown into New York City for the very first time earlier in the day, experiencing the Big Apple in all its glory from the sailboat. He kicked off his set with Eric Church’s “Drink In My Hand” and continued to entertain the fans with great covers like Garth Brooks’ “Rodeo” and hosted a giant sailboat sing-a-long during Luke Combs’ “Beer Never Broke My Heart”. He also sang originals like “Right Bar Wrong Stool” as well as a great drinking song, “Jack Made Jack”, proving to these new followers that his name should be one they remember.

Cold drinks in hand, guests had the chance to take pictures in front of Lady Liberty and the entire New York City skyline. Check out more pictures from the night here.

Be sure to grab your tickets to our final sail of the summer season on October 11th featuring Lauren Davidson and Kalie Shorr. See you there!

NYCS x Manhattan By Sail 2nd Country Edition Sail Feat. Carter Winter

Country Sail

What’s better than the ocean breeze, stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and country music? Nothing. We teamed up with Manhattan By Sail for another Country Edition sail last Saturday, September 14th and once again country music fans boarded the Clipper City to make memories they will never forget. Check out the full recap video of the special night below.

Guests grabbed a cold drink from the open bar and find a spot on the giant sailboat to take in the sights and the sounds of our amazing event. After a quick intro from our Founder, Stephanie Wagner and Managing Editor, Christina, another NYCountry Swag event alum, Carter Winter grabbed the mic to entertain the ship.

Manhattan By Sail Country Edition

Winter’s smooth delivery and sultry songs were the perfect soundtrack to the gentle sway of the ocean. While guests took pictures in front of the Statue of Liberty, they danced around the boat to covers of Dustin Lynch’s “Small Town Boy”, Eric Church’s “Drink In My Hand” and even Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places”. Winter also performed his original song, “Skylines” which quite literally fit the setting and atmosphere of the night.

Reasons You Don’t Have to Love Country Music to Love Our Sails

If you’ve been following along, NYCountry Swag and Manhattan By Sail have teamed up for 4 events before the cold weather sets in. Our first country edition sail was on August 9th and featured Rob Bellamy and our second was on September 14th featuring Carter Winter.  With two more events coming up, we wanted to let you in on a little secret, you do not have to love country music to absolutely love these sails. Here are some reasons why:

Sail

The Views

Even if you are a native New Yorker, even if you have grown up right in the middle of the city, our Manhattan By Sail collaboration gives you a chance to see the beautiful skyline, get up close and personal with Lady Liberty and see the city from a different perspective. If you are immersed in the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, you take for granted how stunning it looks at night and when calmly floating around the New York Harbor, you have the opportunity to take it all in.

Sail

It’s The Perfect Pregame

Each of our events take place on either Friday or Saturday nights and are early enough in the night to make it your pregame stop before heading out in the big city. Each ticket includes an open bar for beer and wine for the entirety of the sail as well as a cash bar for other drink options. If you are looking for a place to go after we party on the boat, we offer a free drink ticket at The Boogie Room which is a great bar located inside the Mondrian Park Avenue hotel that plays great music from the 80s and 90s.

Carter Winter

Hearing Great Music

Yes, we are NYCountry Swag and we do have country music singer-songwriters and artists as our musical guests, however, part of our sail is just fun, great music. Each of our featured artists play classic covers, songs from all different genres and eras that you will for sure know and love, even if you aren’t a country music fan. In between sets, we blast our playlist of fun tunes and dancing is certainly encouraged.

Country Sail

Something Different To Do

Whether it’s a date night with your spouse, moms-night-out or just grabbing your friends, our Country Edition Sail is a damn good time. What is better than an ocean breeze, a beautiful backdrop and a cold drink? We can’t think of a better way to spend a Friday or Saturday night.

Our next event takes place on September 27th and we are featuring Baker Grissom, a songwriter and artist that caught us off guard with his incredible debut EP, Saturdays and Sunday. We have a strong feeling that in just a few years, you will be proud to tell your friends that you saw and got to meet Baker before he was a big star.

Our final event of the season will be on October 11th and we have Kalie Shorr performing. Kalie is energetic and her original songs will definitely make you fall in love with her. She is set to release her debut album next week and is excited to perform in New York City music fans.
