LANCO Release Brand New Tune Titled “Rival”

LANCO Rival

Just yesterday (3/21), the double platinum-selling country band, LANCO, released the first song off their highly anticipated sophomore album, entitled “Rival.” The track follows their number 1 single “Greatest Love Story,” and top 20 charted single “Born To Love You” off their debut platinum record Hallelujah Nights.

The song is a mid-tempo track that is sure to be an essential part of their future live performances. “Rival” is an anthem for standing your ground, staying true to yourself, and ignoring the haters. The unique sound, comprised of enticing and gritty vocals, as well as, quirky banjo and guitar instrumentals create a new, but pleasing track for LANCO.

Written by frontman, Brandon Lancaster and drummer, Tripp Howell in the back of the tour bus, the song should keep fans excited for new music from the band, as they cultivate a fresh sound. Lancaster explained in a recent press release about the writing process, sharing, “We wrote this song from the perspective of no matter where you come from, be proud of who you are and the way you’re creating your own path. And if anyone doesn’t like it, just chalk them up as a rival and keep doing your own thing.”

Howell went on to add, “We realized that everyone has faced something they have to stand up against. It isn’t about fitting into any mold, It’s about sticking up for what you believe in. […] I think that underdog mentality really drove us int he beginning.” Leave it to LANCO to give us inspiring lyrics with a catchy sound.

“Oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh / I rumble / I roar/ I’m winning / I ain’t even keeping score / Oh, oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh / It’s a movement, a revival / And if you ain’t with me, you’re the rival, rival.”

We will catch up with the boys of LANCO when they play Taste of Country Music Festival in June at Hunter Mountain in New York. For tickets and more information, head to lancomusic.com.

To keep up with LANCO follow them on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

“Rival” is now available everywhere you buy or stream music. Take a listen below and check out more new recently released music here on our ‘New Country Music’ playlist. Be sure to give the playlist a follow for your weekly new country music fix.

LANCO & Travis Denning Bring ‘Hallelujah Nights Tour’ to New York City

New York country fans braced the cold weather Thursday (Nov. 29) to head to Irving Plaza for LANCO’s, ‘Hallelujah Nights Tour’. Country newcomer, Travis Denning, was tasked with warming up the crowd as the evenings opening act.

Just before his set, Denning joined NYCountry Swag for a LIVE Swag Session, performing two of his songs live on Facebook for our followers and taking the time to chat about what’s next for the rising artist. Check out the full performance in the video above. Kicking off the Irving Plaza show, Denning’s set did not disappoint. He had a packed room of fans entertained by his musical ability, catchy songs, and stage presence from the first note. After singing his unreleased track, “Heartbeat of a Small Town” potentially from his forthcoming debut album, the singer-songwriter energetically addressed the crowd. “New York City, how the hell are you?! My name is Travis, and it’s damn good to back here with you people,” the artist exclaimed as fans erupted into applause.

Denning went on to sing a few other songs, including another unreleased track, “Good Years” and a cover of Miranda Lambert’s “Kerosene”. Just before leading into his recently released song, “Red, White and Blue”, the singer shared his inspiration for the tune and showed his support for the military men and women, while also acknowledging his Georgia roots, where he shared that he was proud to live near an air force base.

Arguably one of the best moments from Denning’s set was his performance of his top 40 debut single, “David Ashley Parker from Powder Springs”. Fans seemed to know the track, as they sang back the words to the singer, throughout the entire song. This is always a memorable moment, where the artist makes a connection with the audience and turns the crowd into fans, if they weren’t already. Denning ended his opening gig showing much gratitude for the engaged crowd.

Shortly following Denning’s set, Katie Neal and Jesse Addy from Nash FM 94.7 gave the boys of LANCO a warm welcome to the stage. The group sang songs off their debut album, Hallelujah Nights, as well as performed an epic mashup of covers. Their approximately 90-minute performance began with songs like “We Do,” “Win You Over,” and “Pick You Up.” The crowd was soaking in every word, as lead singer, Brandon Lancaster poured his heart out on stage, even swaying their arms back and forth, during “So Long (I Do).”

LANCO really got the party going, when they covered The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside,” getting the audience involved, “There’s a lot of words in this one, so y’all help us sing ‘em.” The crowd obliged, singing along through the entire high energy song. Lancaster explained how the band ended up including this song in their setlist, talking about their humble beginnings, playing at college bars.

“Playing for free, honestly playing for free beer and that’s about it, but that means something though. It means your boys over hear play Mr. Brightside, but ya’ll we know how to honky tonk a little bit alright, so uh, so I know we’re in New York City, but you seem to like country music, so I thought it would be fun to… Can we turn Irving Plaza into a honky tonk for a second, alright?!.”

Immediately following, LANCO joined the crowd on the floor for some entertaining and chilling covers, including country superstar, Eric Church’s “Drink in My Hand” and “Springsteen,” as well as Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’.” LANCO’s connection with the fans was truly evident in this moment, making it a highlight of the night as captured in our Instagram video seen below.

Finally, after playing a couple of other songs off their record, such as, “Middle of Night,” the group said goodnight to fans and left the stage, only to come back for an awesome encore performance of their greatest hits, “Born to Love You,” and “Greatest Love Story.” Lancaster made sure to share his inspiration for the former.

“I found no matter where you go, wherever you’re from, whatever you’re born into… A big city like New York, somewhere a few hours from here, maybe you drove in… No matter what country you’re born into, whatever circumstance you’re born into, it doesn’t matter. If you ever get to find someone to go through life with- to go through the good, the bad, the ugly, the ups, the downs, you’ll find no matter what you’re born into- you were born to love them, so this next song is called ‘Born to Love You’.”

Both LANCO and Travis Denning truly gave New Yorker’s an unforgettable night of music. They will continue playing shows on the ‘Hallelujah Nights Tour’ through the rest of the year and part of 2019. Head to lancomusic.com for more information.

For every artist, playing in a city such as the Big Apple brings its own charm and unique feelings whether they are playing a small showcase at Rockwood Music Hall downtown or in the case of LANco, Brothers Osborne and Dierks Bentley on Saturday night, their very first sold-out show at Madison Square Garden. The Mountain High Tour made its second trip to the metro area on Saturday night, the first being back in May where we attended the show at PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey during the opening weekend.

Back in June during his album release week, Bentley told fans at an intimate event “We’re playing the biggest honky-tonk in the world, MSG, that is right at the top of my bucket list, bigger than any dream I could ever dream.” His dream came true, selling out the arena and giving the venue one hell of a show.

Earlier today when we posted this incredible photo on Instagram, fans told us their favorite parts of the show. @acolaluca1108 commented “Brothers Osborne playing “Ain’t My Fault” was fantastic especially when the whole crowd sang along” while @kooocheee said “Best concert I went to this summer! Danced the whole time! “Burning Man” was amazing”.

Some other highlights that fans commented including @gdow68 mentioned “Hot Country Knights was hilarious!!! Whole show was just amazing!!” and @rachel.elena said “The whole show was amazing! You could tell how huge playing the Garden was for all of the acts!”

The biggest fan favorite moment of the night was, however, the encore when Bentley takes the stage dressed in full pilot gear to end the night with his smash hit “Drunk on a Plane”.  @cassie736 said “Amazing show!! I loved “Drunk On A Plane” and how he dressed up in the pilot outfit”.

At one point in the night, Bentley listed all of the smaller venues that he has played in Manhattan including Joe’s Pub, Hammerstein Ballroom, Irving Plaza and even some places in Brooklyn “…just to make sure we crossed off all of the boxes and every step on the way to the biggest honky-tonk in the entire world Madison Square Garden, when I say we, I mean we, because you guys have been there for us all along the way”

New York City fans were happy to have The Mountain High Tour make Madison Square Garden one of its stops before the tour is over later this month.  For remaining tour dates head to: https://www.dierks.com/tour

Journey with LANCO in New Video for “Born to Love You”

Country music platinum breakout group LANCO won the hearts of music lovers everywhere with their smash hit “Greatest Love Story,” and are doing it again with their top 25 (and rising) single “Born to Love You,” off their debut album, Hallelujah Nights.

The music video for “Born to Love You” dropped last Friday, August 3rd streaming across all platforms with already over 50,000 views on YouTube alone. The video chronicles the picturesque, story-telling lyrics in a whirlwind journey, as the band is showcased in meaningful places across the United States that are meant to depict the towns the group members are from.

Frontman of LANCO and co-writer of “Born to Love You,” Brandon Lancaster shared in a recent press release: “As we continue to travel the world as a band we’ve been given a glimpse into how many people, places, and cultures there are. With that in mind we wanted a music video that emphasized the idea in this song of just how amazing it is that out of all those places and people, two people can come together and find love.”

In other words, LANCO wants their fans to know that regardless of where you are from or what stage you are at in life, two people that are meant to be together, will do everything to be together. Leave it to LANCO to utilize their music videos to elevate their already touching lyrics.

New Yorkers get your tickets to see the Mountain High Tour and catch LANCO open for Dierks Bentley with Brothers Osborne at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday, September 8th.  Tickets and more information available here.

Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne and LANco Kick Off Mountain High Tour

Saturday night, fans from Long Island, New York City, and New Jersey gathered despite the rain to help kick off the Mountain High Tour featuring Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne, and LANco. The second night of the tour hit PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey and will continue through the summer, into the fall ending in LA.

The Mountain High Tour

In true country music fan form, tailgates were set out in the muddy parking lots early on in the day.  Tents, cornhole games, and BBQ’s strewn throughout the lots surrounding the venue.  As the fans filed into the venue, LANco took the stage, singing songs from their debut album Hallelujah Nights including “Pick You Up”, “Long Live Tonight”, “Singin’ At Stars” and of course their first number one, “Greatest Love Story”.

Lead singer, Brandon Lancaster even ran through the audience to the B Stage with drumsticks to play the drums that were set up, engaging with the fans that were towards the back in the lawn seats. Their high energy set was the perfect way to ignite a fire in the crowd and set them up for what promised to be a great night of country music.

The Mountain High Tour

Up next, our favorite duo Brothers Osborne played a 50-minute set combining songs from both of their full-length albums including opening with their most recent single “Shoot Me Straight”, then throwing it back to  “Greener Pastures”, “Rum” and “Ain’t My Fault”.  They also played “Weed, Whiskey, and Willie” and “Drank Like Hank” from Port Saint Joe. The duo’s undeniable chemistry on-stage between TJ’s sultry vocals and John’s ability to shred on guitar left the New Jersey crowd on their feet.

The Mountain High Tour

Finally, the headliner took the stage, opening his set with the title track to his forthcoming album, The Mountain which will be available everywhere June 8th. Bentley filled his set with meaningful hits like “I Hold On”, “Riser” and “Say You Do”.  The giant screen behind Bentley flashed incredible scenes from nature including mountain ranges, celestial night skies, and even ocean waves. “The mountains are alive y’all we’re going to take you on a climb to the top, but before that, we have to start at sea level.  We’ve gotta start ‘Somewhere On A Beach’,” the singer said leading into his number one smash hit.

During his 90-minute set, Bentley invited Brothers Osborne back to the stage to perform a brand new song that is featured on The Mountain, called “Burning Man”.  For an epic moment, Bentley sat down on the stage to take in how amazing John Osborne is at playing his guitar, letting him reclaim the stage with his impressive skills.  Lancaster from LANco also took the stage one more time to pay homage to ’90’s country by singing the John Michael Montgomery smash “Sold”.  Overall, the night was the perfect way to kick off a summer of country music and tailgating.  Bentley’s show had something for everyone, featuring all of his biggest songs to date including some brand new music fans can look forward to.

Catch the Mountain High Tour as it makes it’s way across the country this summer including a stop back in New York at Madison Square Garden.  For additional tour dates and tickets head to http://www.dierks.com/tour and head to our Instagram for exclusive videos from the show.

LANco Plays New Album, “Hallelujah Nights” to a Packed Out Gramercy Theatre…

LANCo

LANco took the stage last night at The Gramercy Theatre in Manhattan and played cuts off their debut album which is available everywhere tomorrow. “The album is called Hallelujah Nights, just like nights like tonight that you spend with your friends and family.” Brandon Lancaster, the lead singer of the band told the packed house. He explained to the crowd how this week was a historic one for them as a band, getting to play shows in New York City and releasing their very first full-length album.  We were first introduced to LANco back in 2016 when they opened for Brothers Osborne, now they are headlining their very own show.

Lanco

They played songs off their album including “Pick You Up” and the title track, “Hallelujah Nights” as well as covers of Alabama’s classic,”Dixieland Delight” and John Michael Montgomery’s “Sold”.  “A full room like this in New York City is a dream come true for us,” Lancaster said before singing “Long Live Tonight” which was featured on their EP released back in 2016.  Taking a moment to ask the crowd to split, Lancaster then jumped into the audience holding a giant drum and interacted with his biggest NYC fans.

The album features 11 tracks that tell the story of young and small town living, chronically the way the band members grew up.  The title track encompasses the feel-good notion that the band wanted to ensure when fans were listening to the record, just being able to look around and enjoy all that life has given you.

“These are the hallelujah nights / These are the best days of our life / The ones we won’t get back / The ones that go too fast / The ones that make you feel like heaven might be right next to ya / Throw your hands up, hallelujah / These hallelujah nights”

“We wanted the album to reflect our worldview,” Lancaster told the Tennessean in a recent interview. “The album explores a lot of different times in your life, whether it’s finding love or losing love or being broke. But knowing that all of those things are things you can rally around and celebrate the fact that you’re going through these different stages in life. That’s a connection we have with our fans is they are all going through the same things.”

The band ended 2017 by celebrating their first no. 1 single, “Greatest Love Story” which they used to close out the night, all of the audience swayed along and sang every word.

Days before the show, New York Country Swag hosted a special ticket giveaway contest for our followers. We gave two lucky winners a pair of tickets to the show. Upon arriving at the venue, our contest winners were surprised with a special meet & greet. Congrats to our winners & thank you for supporting New York Country Swag!
