Country Stars Support ‘We Won’t Stop’ Campaign for St. Jude

St. Jude, located in Memphis, Tennessee is a research hospital for children battling cancer and other deadly diseases. Perhaps the most special part about the organization is, thanks to very generous donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food. Families receive the best care in the country, at no cost, making the worst and darkest days of their lives a little bit brighter – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.

Not only is St. Jude currently taking care of patients within its own doors but its research facility and labs are open 24/7 and freely share their findings with hospitals and doctors across the country. They are working towards a world where no family ever has to hear the words “you have cancer”.

We Won't Stop Reba

Launched more than 30 years ago, Randy Owen from the band Alabama stood up during Country Radio Seminar in Nashville and asked his friends, colleagues, and radio partners to join together to help St. Jude and the children they serve, and so, “Country Cares for St. Jude Kids” was born. The program unites more than 200 radio stations and dozens of country music artists annually to raise awareness and support for St. Jude kids.

In addition, Owen, who has been an example of compassion and support since the beginning, kick-started the beloved tradition of giving the “Angels Among Us” award to others who have shown his spirit and exceptional dedication to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Chase Rice Featuring Florida Georgia Line Drop “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.”

Chase Rice released his new single, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” featuring Florida Georgia Line on all platforms yesterday (November 30th). Take a look below as we dive deeper into the track.

FGL Chase Rice Drinkin Beer Talkin God Amen

Chase Rice and Florida Georgia Line may be known for their feel-good, tailgate anthems, but they have always touched on religion and God in their music. Their new song, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” combines both elements. Written by Rice, Hunter Phelps, Cale Dodds and Florida Georgia Line producer, Corey Crowder, this song reminds us that even in unprecedented times like these, there is still a lot to be thankful for.

Sittin’ here. Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen / Killin’ time. Livin’ Life with some down-home friends / When the world’s gone crazy, man it all makes sense / Sittin’ here. Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.

The track combines all the sounds of a traditional country song with a more modern production. Rice stated that although 2020 brought a lot of hardships, it has made us realize what it most important to us–family, friends and faith.

“It’s a special song in that way because it really is a celebration of what 2020 became for us and a lot of other people — slowing down to enjoy these moments with our loved ones and having deeper, more meaningful conversations with each other,” Rice said in a recent press release.

Chase Rice Florida Georgia Line

Rice helped Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard co-write one of the biggest country songs of all-time, “Cruise” in 2012. Aside from writing the Diamond-certified hit, Rice, Kelley and Hubbard roomed together when they first moved to Nashville. The three have wanted to get back in the studio together for a long time.

“We are so excited to be on this jam with our boy Chase,” Hubbard exclaimed. “We’ve dreamed of being on the radio together ever since we were roommates 10 years ago. This song is the perfect one for us, as we often find ourselves drinking beer and talking God when we get together. We hope this brings lots of good times and great conversations.”

Florida Georgia Line has been rapidly putting out new music in the past few months, including their newest single to radio “Long Live.” For Rice, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” is his first release since The Album: Part II.

Florida Georgia Line Receive St. Jude “Angels Among Us” Award

Superstar duo Florida Georgia Line received the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s “Angels Among Us” Award during a special livestream presentation today (October 15th).

The livestream, themed “We Won’t Stop,” is an annual celebration of partners affiliated with the Country Cares for St. Jude Kids® radio program.

St. Jude, located in Memphis, Tennessee is a research hospital for children battling cancer and other deadly diseases. As Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line receive the award this year, the organization recognizes their generosity and passion for serving the St. Jude mission: Finding cures. Saving children.®

The 17-time chart-topping, multi-platinum duo have supported St. Jude families for many years. In addition to their involvement in the This Shirt Saves Lives campaign since 2017, they’ve also orchestrated several special moments with St. Jude patients. One prime example of this is when they surprised a patient on stage in 2018, leading a crowd of more than 1,500 fans in singing the “No More Chemo” song to him – in celebration of his last round of chemotherapy. Another example is just last year when FGL added a surprise tour stop at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during their “Can’t Say I Ain’t Country Tour.” The special event attracted a record crowd of patient families for an on-campus event, giving them a day to look forward to and a reminder that they are not alone.

Florida Georgia Line Release Brand New Single “Long Live”

After recently dropping the 6-Pack EP in May, the 2020 ACM and CMA nominated Duo of the Year, Florida Georgia Line wasted no time releasing new material with a song titled “Long Live.” Both Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley co-wrote the toast-raising track alongside their good friends, Corey Crowder, David Garcia, and Josh Miller. The duo also co-produced the track along with Corey Crowder.

Backed by a string-heavy production, this new track has “Here’s to the Good Times” vibes as Hubbard and Kelley pay homage to the southern way of life. In the chorus, the two list all the aspects of small-town life they never want to change.

“Long live all the small-towners, sun-up and sun-downers, and old school Haggard and Hank / Love live long-neck bottles, and wide-open throttles, and old dirt roads with no names / Long live them country girls, long live them cut-up jeans / Long live this way of life, long live nights like these”

The duo’s latest single, “I Love My Country,” hit number one the week of August 31st, marking their 17th chart-topping song. Fans can catch them perform it live at the 55th ACM Awards on Wednesday (9/16) at 8/7c on CBS.

Florida Georgia Line Lands 17th Number 1 with “I Love My Country”

Florida Georgia Line Lands 17th Number 1 with “I Love My Country”

Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley have transformed themselves from a country duo to bonafide megastars. They are singers, songwriters, entertainers, performers,  and even own their own record label. As if this year couldn’t go any better for them, FGL scored their 17th career chart-topper with their single “I Love My Country” just this week.

With over one hundred million total global streams in just six months, the song joins the likes of their smash hits “Cruise,” “This Is How We Roll,” and the unforgettable collaboration with Bebe Rexha “Meant To Be,” among many others. Originally penned by Corey Crowder with Ernest Keith Smith and Ryan Vojtesak, later credit was also given to superstar, Kane Brown and co-writers Chase McGill and Will Weatherly.

“It’s just made us feel so good and gave us so much joy,” explained Hubbard in a recent press release, “Considering the time that we’re living in right now, with everyone quarantined and maybe living in a little bit of fear, it felt like a song that could help bring us a little light to people.”

Clearly fans felt like this song was exactly what they needed. The feel-good jam will definitely not be FGL’s last song to hit the top spot on the charts. It will be interesting to see what single they will bring to country radio next.

If you are loving all things FGL, make sure to watch them vie for Duo of the Year at the 55th ACM Awards taking place live from various locations in Nashville on September 16th. Additionally, announced just this morning (Sept 1.), the guys were also nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year at the 54th Annual CMA Awards on November 11th.

Kindness Isn’t Canceled Spotlight: Artists Help Employees of Broadway Bars

It has been a tough few weeks for Nashville, for the country, and for the world. Small businesses are struggling to stay afloat, people are trying to rebuild their homes, many Americans are losing their jobs, and we are all forced to stay in as we fight through this pandemic. Despite all this turmoil, beauty and kindness have remained.

We decided to flip the script and shine our spotlight, while we can, on some of the kindness that we have witnessed from others because Kindness Isn’t Canceled. To grab your exclusive shirt, click here.

Since Nashville’s Broadway, a famous strip of bars and restaurants that is visited by millions each year, is now closed, superstars Dierks Bentley and the men of Florida Georgia Line decided to use their resources to make a difference.

Both artists have their own bars in Nashville, Dierks’ Whiskey Row, and Hubbard and Kelley’s FGL House. Unfortunately, since many of the employees, including bartenders, waitresses, waiters, and management staff are being laid off or are temporarily out of work, due to the pandemic, people may be struggling to make ends meet.

To do what he can to help out his employees, Bentley gifted $1000 to each of his 90 employees, empathizing with those employees who work for tips. In full, the singer spent $90K to help out his staff. The men of FGL followed Bentley’s lead, vowing to gift $1000 to each of their 117 employees of FGL House. They shared their reasons for their contribution via Instagram.

Although this may just seem like a small feat, it reminds us all to help out where we can. It reminds us all to virtually check in on our friends, families, and even our co-workers. Stories like this remind us that kindness goes a long way!

Know somebody spreading incredible acts of kindness during these difficult times? E-mail us at: [email protected].

We look forward to continuing to keep bringing you more stories that remind us that Kindness Isn’t Canceled. Join us in our campaign, and buy yourself a t-shirt here. As always, we appreciate your support of  NYCountry Swag.

Florida Georgia Line Releases “Women” Featuring Jason Derulo

“Starting out the only one you love is mama / Then you start growin’ up and wonderin’ / What made the girls start gettin’ pretty / Then you start carin’ ’bout how you’re lookin’ / Anything it takes to get ’em lookin’ / Thinkin’, “Damn, I gotta get one with me”

FGL Jason DeRulo

Florida Georgia Line released their sixth song from their upcoming fourth album Can’t Say I Ain’t Country today called “Women”. In this track, FGL along with featured pop-star, Jason Derulo sing about women’s impact on them and how they are “the reason we’re livin’ and lovin’ this life.”

Derulo’s countertenor singing voice mixed with Hubbard’s southern twang makes this one of FGL’s most beautiful ballads to date. Florida Georgia Line got their start with tailgate hits such as “Cruise”, “Round Here”, “Anything Goes”, “Sun Daze” along with many others. However, since both Kelley and Hubbard were wed (2013 and 2015 respectively) they seemed to have changed their style of music. The Dig Your Roots album had many of these slow, love songs such as “Grow Old”, “Island”, “God, Your Mama and Me” and of course their hit single “H.O.L.Y.”. We can expect to see more ballads from them in the future.

BK and Tyler are no strangers to collaborations with pop stars, performing in the past with Nelly, Hailee Steinfeld, The Backstreet Boys and most recently, Bebe Rexha as their song “Meant to Be” went on to last 50 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.

This is not Derulo’s first song with the boys of FGL. In 2014, Derulo was featured on the remix version of “This is How We Roll”. Derulo has more experience in country music as he performed with Luke Bryan on “CMT Crossroads” singing hits such as “Country Girl”, “Strip it Down”, “Kick the Dust Up”, and his own “Talk Dirty to Me”.

Can’t Say I Ain’t Country comes out February 15th and the boys hit the road with Dan + Shay, and Morgan Wallen starting June 13th, with Canaan Smith and Hardy joining select shows. They will be in the New York City area on July 20th at Jones Beach. Grab your tickets here. Watch the video for “Women” below and check out our New Country Music Spotify playlist to hear all of the new country music that is released.

#TBT Our Favorite ACM Collaboration Performances

This Sunday night, live from Vegas the Academy of Country Music Awards are set to take place, bringing incredible performances from Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, and many more.  On this #TBT let’s take a look back at some of our favorite collaboration performances and moments from the prestigious award show.

At last year’s ACM Awards, Florida Georiga Line sang their most recent single “God, Your Mama and Me” with help from boy band Backstreet Boys then they all did the iconic dance to “Everybody” together, making a memorable moment for all watching.

Back in 2014, Hilary, Charles, and Dave of Lady Antebellum collaborated with Stevie Nicks to sing the title track from their 2013 album Golden.  The addition of Nicks’ voice to their already incredible harmonies made for quite the performance.

Power vocalist Carrie Underwood took the stage to perform with rock icon Steven Tyler.  They sang her single in 2001, “Undo It” then finished their performance with “Walk This Way”.  This moment was a definite highlight of the 2011 ACM Awards.

One of our all-time favorite duets, Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson are reviving this 2007 collaboration this Sunday night at the ACMs.  Back in 2007, they performed a heartfelt, emotional rendition of Clarkson’s “Because of You”.  Which song do you think they will sing together this year?

Brad Paisley joined by John Mayer performed “Beat This Summer” at the 49th Annual ACM Awards back in 2013.  The duo went head to head shredding on their electric guitars, wowing the viewers.
