Dierks Bentley Today Show

Justin Aharoni (@jaharoni) for NYCountry Swag

Dierks Bentley heated things up on the TODAY Show’s Citi Concert Series in Rockefeller Center in New York City this morning (Aug 1). Bringing some country to the heart of NYC, Bentley was accompanied by a band featuring various bluegrass rooted instruments. The country star ignited the crowd singing his hit “Women, Amen.” Next, he went on to show his more vulnerable side singing his 2013 hit “I Hold On.” Bringing out his old guitar, “…just an old beat up box/ It’s rusty strings across the top”, allowed fans to get a glimpse of how much it meant to him and the obstacles it got him through.

Even though he is bringing his ‘Burning Man Tour’ to the actual beach tomorrow, August 2nd when he headlines at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater, he took the TODAY Show crowd “Somewhere on a Beach” with his 2016 classic. Bentley also sang “Living” and “Burning Man” both singles off his 2018 number one album The Mountain.

During the interview portion, he stressed the importance that mountains carry for him in his life. He noted how mountains, “recharge him and make for great music.” Following his love for climbing and the outdoors, lucky country fans can win his giveaway via his Facebook which includes hiking with the country artist and concert tickets to one of his shows. He also adds how his kids are the reason he stays mindful and present because watching them grow and staying in the moment is precious.

Concluding his visit to the TODAY show he decided to not leave empty-handed. The Bentley family has a new four legged addition to their household named Goose! After meeting and connecting with a few shelter dogs on the show Bentley adopted Goose a Border Collie mix as an addition to his family and posted this adorable video on Instagram.

Dierks Bentley Brings His “Burning Man Tour” to PNC Bank Arts Center in NJ

According to Dierks Bentley himself, “Jersey never disappoints and always brings the energy.” That is an extremely accurate statement to describe his stop of the Burning Man Tour at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. Joined by Tenille Townes, Jon Pardi, and even Hot Country Knights, Bentley’s alter-ego’s 90’s country band, the show was definitely a night to remember.

Burning Man Tour

Hot Country Knights set was up first. Once on stage, the band was met with some skepticism from the audience, that was until they figured out who the lead singer truly was. Although average concert-goers may have missed it, the singer with the animal print muscle tee, high waisted bootleg jeans and mullet was none other than Dierks Bentley himself. This set was really a sight to see, as Bentley’s band joined him by dressing up in 90’s outfits and wigs and playing music that sounded like it came straight from that decade. The 20-minute set ended too quickly, as the audience, and even members of the band erupted into laughter and applause.

Tenille Townes Burning Man Tour

Next up was the first true opener, country singer-songwriter Tenille Townes. Opening with “White Horse,” The 25-year-old Canadian native shocked the audience with her power vocals and poignant lyrics. As her set went on, it was clear that the audience was getting more and more into her music. With each song, more people stood to their feet and swayed along. After performing “Jersey on the Wall,” Townes told the audience that this was her first time playing at PNC, and it definitely lived up to the hype. She went on to cover, U2’s, “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” and ended her set with her debut single, “Somebody’s Daughter.” For more about Townes and her incredible talent click here.

Jon Pardi Burning Man Tour

Jon Pardi was next to take the stage– and he for sure brought the party. Opening with “What I Can’t Put Down,” followed by a Brooks & Dunn cover of, “My Next Broken Heart,” which was featured on their album REBOOT fans knew they were in for a treat. He continued by playing a few songs off of his 2016 album, California Sunrise. Eventually, he got to “Heartache Medication,” his current single off of his new album which is due September 27th. Being that he was playing to a Jersey crowd, Pardi would’ve been remiss not to honor a song to a New Jersey icon. So that’s exactly what he did by playing Bon Jovi’s, “Wanted Dead or Alive,” which was sung word for word by the audience. Pardi ended his high energy set by playing three of his classics– “Heartache on the Dance Floor,” “Head Over Boots,” and “Dirt On My Boots.”

Dierks Bentley Burning Man Tour

After two, well, technically three amazing openers, it was finally time for Bentley to take the stage. Starting with “Burning Man,” Bentley captivated the audience with his simple stage set up and powerful presence. After performing his hit song, “Somewhere on a Beach,” Bentley paid homage to the Jersey Shore and even did a call-response with the audience to see where they were from– the choices being north, south, or central Jersey– central being met with the loudest response. Bentley followed with “Black,” and “I Hold On,” two slow and deeply meaningful songs. Those were then contrasted by the upbeat songs “5-1-5-0” and “Living,” Bentley’s current single. It was refreshing to see those two sides of Bentley, both the serious and lightheartedness of his personality was really able to shine through.

About halfway through the set, Bentley brought Jon Pardi back out onto the stage to perform, “Missin’ You Crazy,” Bentley’s favorite song by Pardi. This was followed by Tenille Townes coming back on stage to teach Bentley a little something about female country singers. She sang a tidbit of “Strawberry Wine,” belted out some of “Man! I Feel Like a Woman,” and eventually joined Bentley in singing his massive hit, “Different for Girls.” Next, while singing “Am I The Only One,” Bentley made his way through the amphitheater and crowd to tiny B-stage near the back of the venue.

Dierks Bentley

Once on the B-stage, Bentley pulled a fan onto the stage, swiftly shotgunned a beer, and began a quick acoustic set which consisted of “Come a Little Closer” and “Say You Do,” before returning back to the main stage to finish out the show. Although nearing the end, the crowd was still as rowdy as ever while singing along to “What was I Thinkin’” and “Sideways.” These were the last two songs before the encore, as Bentley thanked the crowd for another amazing and unforgettable show. Walking out to do the encore in a full-on pilot getup, the audience already knew what was coming, as “Drunk on a Plane” was sung in unison by the whole crowd. Bentley played “Free and Easy” to end what was an exhilarating night at PNC.

Dierks Bentley’s Burning Man Tour will be around all summer so make sure not to miss it. The tour will also be stopping at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater on August 2nd, so get your tickets now!

Dierks Bentley Features His Adorable Son in “Living” Music Video

Dierks Bentley Living

Country star, Dierks Bentley released an adorable video for his current single “Living”. The video shows Bentley going around town doing tons of fun activities with his son, Knox.  “It’s basically just me and Knox, just a day in the life,” Bentley explains to People. “The two of us, just doing what we’re doing when we’re off the road, which is a lot. We pack a lot into one every day.”

Watch the video below!

His latest album The Mountain is all about appreciating life and nature. The opening lyrics of “Living”: “This morning I got up at 6:01, I walked out and saw the rising sun and I drank in it, like whiskey”; one would believe he got up voluntarily to watch the sunrise. However, the video puts an ironic twist to it as Knox runs down the stairs and jumps on his father. Bentley gets out of bed looking exhausted and steps on his son’s toys as the sun from the window blinds him; definitely not drinking it in like whiskey. To Bentley’s displeasure, Knox begins to play the drums. His father comes in the room to stop him but then Bentley sees the look on his son’s face and picks up a guitar and the two start a jam session at six in the morning.

After spending time in the backyard, Bentley and Knox hit the road for some more fun activities including the Water Park, the arcade laser tag, karaoke, go-carting, ice cream and more. At the ice cream parlor, Bentley gets jealous of his son when the attractive women behind the counter starts to flirt with Knox.

Dierks Bentley Living

At the end of the video, Bentley and Knox cash in their tickets to win a big plush bear at the prize stand. As they are walking back to their car, they pass a mother holding her young daughter’s hand. Knox, being the little gentleman he is, runs back and gives the little girl the big stuffed bear. The two hug and Knox runs back to Bentley, who high fives his son. A heart-warming moment to an already loveable music video.

This video emphasizes the difference between breathing and living. You have to appreciate your life and take advantage of every opportunity you get. Living for Bentley is spending quality time with his son and he does not want to miss out on his time being a father.

Knox’s is Bentley’s youngest child at five years old. He has two other daughters, Evalyn “Evie” Day (10) and Jordan Catherine (8).

Keep up with Dierks Bentley on his socials, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

You can see Bentley on his Burning Man Tour with Jon Pardi, Tenille Townes and Hot Country Knights. The tour is stopping at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ July 26th and at Jones Beach on Long Island August 2nd.

Live From Whiskey Row in Nashville Dierks Bentley on GMA

Dierks Bentley Good Morning America

In order to celebrate CMA Award day (tonight!), ABC’s Good Morning America brought their set to the rooftop of Dierks Bentley’s bar ‘Whiskey Row’ in Nashville. Country megastar, Dierks Bentley caught up with GMA correspondents, Lara Spencer and Adam Rippon, both before and after his sensational performance of his hit “Woman, Amen” and his beautiful song, “Living.”  Watch his performance by clicking here.

Baring the brisk temperature, Bentley and his band played the heartfelt jam, “Woman Amen” first, in front of an intimate crowd of fans, who gathered on the rooftop. Although he did not need an introduction, Spencer got the crowd pumped stating “Right now here’s Dierks with his number one hit “Woman, Amen” from his album The Mountain.

The iconic view of Broadway in Nashville acted as the perfect backdrop for the three-time CMA award winner’s performance. As the singer-songwriter entertained the audience, the camera panned to the fans who were all singing along to the beautiful lyrics. Bentley gave country music fans a taste of his highly anticipated performance at the CMA Award show tonight.

Just before his encore performance of “Living”, Spencer had some fun with the recording artist, discussing how the singer makes yearbooks for each and every one of his tours, his upcoming birthday (and giving him Whiskey-infused cupcakes to celebrate), as well as, reminding fans about his upcoming tour, ‘Burning Man Tour’ with special guests, Jon Pardi, Tenille Townes, and Hot Country Knights, slated to begin in Canada this January.

One of the most charming moments in the short interview was when Bentley gave all of the credit to the fans after Spencer asked how he keeps his energy up. The country star shared that he practices staying in the moment, as well as stating, “Oh man, I feed off the crowd so much. Just these fans that came up, some of them have been here sine 1:00 this morning. I take that energy with me all day. It’ll feed me the rest of the day. It’s all about the fans. Especially CMA Awards.” Check out the conversation here.

Just after this sentiment, Bentley and his band took the stage again to close out the segment with “Living”. Stay tuned for another performance from Bentley and many other country music artists tonight at 8 pm on ABC during the CMA Awards, and make sure to follow us on Twitter, as we live-tweet our favorite moments from what is sure to be an epic night of music.

Dierks Bentley Debuts “Burning Man” Music Video Featuring Brothers Osborne

Platinum-selling country superstar, Dierks Bentley, has released the scorching official music video for his latest top 20 single “Burning Man,” featuring Grammy-nominated country duo Brothers Osborne.  Featured on Bentley’s ninth studio album, The Mountain, “Burning Man” was penned by Bobby Pinson and Luke Dick. This song depicts the idea of being a walking contradiction and the growth of the human spirit.

Partially filmed at the Salton Sea in the California desert, director and collaborator Wes Edwards combined the jagged terrain and stunning ocean views with a glimpse of the singer-songwriter’s tour life which executed the song’s essence. In a recent press release, Bentley said, “This song is a personal reflection and it was important to me that you feel that with the video.”

Though shooting this video for “Burning Man” was no walk in the park, Bentley was pleased with the way it turned out. “The Bros and I flew out to the desert in July to shoot this…several people on the crew had heat strokes, two cars got stuck in the sand and we had to have a rattlesnake wrangler with us at all times…but we got the shots!” shared Bentley in a recent press release.  “Burning Man” is up for a 2018 CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year. Additionally, the multi-platinum singer-songwriter received two other nominations for Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for The Mountain.

Bentley will wrap up his ‘Mountain High Tour’ with Brothers Osborne and LANCO this upcoming weekend in Southern California. Visit https://www.dierks.com/ for further information and follow Bentley on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for updates and future announcements.

NYC Fans Loved Dierks Bentley’s Sold-Out Madison Square Garden Show

For every artist, playing in a city such as the Big Apple brings its own charm and unique feelings whether they are playing a small showcase at Rockwood Music Hall downtown or in the case of LANco, Brothers Osborne and Dierks Bentley on Saturday night, their very first sold-out show at Madison Square Garden. The Mountain High Tour made its second trip to the metro area on Saturday night, the first being back in May where we attended the show at PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey during the opening weekend.

Back in June during his album release week, Bentley told fans at an intimate event “We’re playing the biggest honky-tonk in the world, MSG, that is right at the top of my bucket list, bigger than any dream I could ever dream.” His dream came true, selling out the arena and giving the venue one hell of a show.

Earlier today when we posted this incredible photo on Instagram, fans told us their favorite parts of the show. @acolaluca1108 commented “Brothers Osborne playing “Ain’t My Fault” was fantastic especially when the whole crowd sang along” while @kooocheee said “Best concert I went to this summer! Danced the whole time! “Burning Man” was amazing”.

Some other highlights that fans commented including @gdow68 mentioned “Hot Country Knights was hilarious!!! Whole show was just amazing!!” and @rachel.elena said “The whole show was amazing! You could tell how huge playing the Garden was for all of the acts!”

Dierks Bentley Madison Square Garden

The biggest fan favorite moment of the night was, however, the encore when Bentley takes the stage dressed in full pilot gear to end the night with his smash hit “Drunk on a Plane”.  @cassie736 said “Amazing show!! I loved “Drunk On A Plane” and how he dressed up in the pilot outfit”.

At one point in the night, Bentley listed all of the smaller venues that he has played in Manhattan including Joe’s Pub, Hammerstein Ballroom, Irving Plaza and even some places in Brooklyn “…just to make sure we crossed off all of the boxes and every step on the way to the biggest honky-tonk in the entire world Madison Square Garden, when I say we, I mean we, because you guys have been there for us all along the way”

New York City fans were happy to have The Mountain High Tour make Madison Square Garden one of its stops before the tour is over later this month.  For remaining tour dates head to: https://www.dierks.com/tour

Dierks Bentley Performs “Woman Amen” on WE Day

Dierks Bentley

WE Day’s fourth annual special aired this past Friday on ABC featuring a star-studded lineup that included multi-platinum singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley. Bentley wasn’t alone when it came to celebrating young people making a difference in the world. He was one of the many famous faces such as Selena Gomez, Jennifer Aniston, Will Ferrell, Cyndi Lauper, and host John Stamos, all taking part of the special that was filmed back in April at The Forum in Los Angeles.

Along with the celebrities that came out to support, there were 16,000 students and educators alike. Bentley even brought two special guests, Jennifer and Sydnee Floyd, who put together bags of necessities for homeless people in Nashville. He wanted to shine the light on these two amazing women who truly believe in the power of doing good. Everyone in the crowd had one thing in common – being a part of an organization that makes doing good, doable.

Before Bentley took the stage performing his number one hit, “Woman, Amen” off his ninth album, The Mountain, the spotlight was turned onto the Floyd family sharing their inspiring story with the world. When Bentley heard about the family and the great things they were doing, he wanted to go by their house to surprise them. He did just that, as he was walking through their yard singing “Woman, Amen” their faces lit up with excitement, not believing what was happening. He told them, “I’m so inspired by what you guys have been doing, it’s amazing! I thought I had to come out here to say ‘thank you’.” He then went on to invite them to be a part of the music video for “Woman, Amen”, along with accompanying him to Los Angeles for WE Day. The Floyd family graciously accepted both offers and ended the exchange with a group hug.

As the music started to “Woman, Amen” he began his performance by saying, “For Jennifer, for Sydnee, all these amazing women out here, thank you so much for what you do, this one’s for you guys!” As the crowd erupted in cheers the camera panned to the Floyd family where they were seen hugging each other before the performance started. Bentley gave all he had when performing at WE Day, not leaving the crowd disappointed for a moment.

Throughout the performance they panned to fans cheering, singing along, and one even had a sign in support of the song. The performance was energized making those watching at home wishing that they were there. At just the right moment, leading to the end of the performance, fireworks came from the stage. The crowd and the Floyd’s were cheering him on. “Woman, Amen” was the perfect anthem for the night with its message of positivity.

WE is made up of three organizations, WE Charity, ME to WE, and WE Day. The organization WE Day is special because they go around the country showing and celebrating the act of social good. This year’s WE Day special did just that, filling The Forum and honoring the young people who do good every day. WE gives opportunities for today’s generation to better the world by volunteering, raising money, and supporting local and global causes. These change-makers create an impact to not only better the world but to give us hope for the future. You can join the WE movement by taking the pledge on their official website.

If you haven’t had a chance to watch the WE Day special live you can stream it on Hulu. For New Yorkers, Bentley is taking his Mountain High tour to the iconic Madison Square Garden on September 8th with LANCO and Brothers Osborne. Grab your tickets here.

I was thinking that New York City has the best fans!”

Throughout the night he mixed new songs from his album including “Woman, Amen”, “Burning Man” and “Living” with hits that have gotten him to this point in his career like “Up On the Ridge” and “Somewhere on a Beach”.  “We haven’t done this song in many, many years but we wanted to keep you guys on your toes tonight, I hope you remember it,” he told the audience before singing “Come A Little Closer” from his 2005 album Modern Day Drifter.

Bentley referenced several times how excited he is to bring his Mountain High Tour to Madison Square Garden this fall.  “We’re playing the biggest honky-tonk in the world, MSG, that is right at the top of my bucket list, bigger than any dream I could ever dream.” For tickets to the September 8th show, head to www.dierks.com/tour “This song is for you guys, I certainly want to specifically thank all of our firefighters and police officers as well,” Bentley told the crowd before singing his emotional and uplifting hit “Riser”.

Before playing his final song of the night, Pandora hosts surprised Bentley on stage with a plaque that indicated he had reached over three billion spins on Pandora.  Putting him in a class with the Rolling Stones, Snoop Dog, Lady Gaga and one of Bentley’s all-time heroes in country music, Alan Jackson.  Bentley was honored and humbled by the surprise.  He closed out the high energy set with “Drunk on a Plane”, leaving the packed room of fans in awe of his stage presence and commitment to making incredible music.  Grab your copy of The Mountain here.
