Chase Rice released his new single, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” featuring Florida Georgia Line on all platforms yesterday (November 30th). Take a look below as we dive deeper into the track.
Chase Rice and Florida Georgia Line may be known for their feel-good, tailgate anthems, but they have always touched on religion and God in their music. Their new song, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” combines both elements. Written by Rice, Hunter Phelps, Cale Dodds and Florida Georgia Line producer, Corey Crowder, this song reminds us that even in unprecedented times like these, there is still a lot to be thankful for.

The track combines all the sounds of a traditional country song with a more modern production. Rice stated that although 2020 brought a lot of hardships, it has made us realize what it most important to us–family, friends and faith.
“It’s a special song in that way because it really is a celebration of what 2020 became for us and a lot of other people — slowing down to enjoy these moments with our loved ones and having deeper, more meaningful conversations with each other,” Rice said in a recent press release.
Rice helped Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard co-write one of the biggest country songs of all-time, “Cruise” in 2012. Aside from writing the Diamond-certified hit, Rice, Kelley and Hubbard roomed together when they first moved to Nashville. The three have wanted to get back in the studio together for a long time.
“We are so excited to be on this jam with our boy Chase,” Hubbard exclaimed. “We’ve dreamed of being on the radio together ever since we were roommates 10 years ago. This song is the perfect one for us, as we often find ourselves drinking beer and talking God when we get together. We hope this brings lots of good times and great conversations.”
Florida Georgia Line has been rapidly putting out new music in the past few months, including their newest single to radio “Long Live.” For Rice, “Drinkin’ Beer. Talkin’ God. Amen.” is his first release since The Album: Part II.

Country singer-songwriter, Chase Rice, released The Album Part II today (May 15th), the follow-up to The Album Part I, which came out in January. Part II contains four tracks, three of which Rice co-wrote with his friends Jon Nite, Chris DeStefano, and other talented Nashville songwriters.
This four-track record begins with “You” (Rice, Nite, Zach Kale), a love song about how the protagonist believed they had everything they wanted until they met this other person who completely changed their outlook on life. An uncredited female singer provides background vocals in the chorus. Rice gives a shout-out to New York City with the line “You don’t know how bad that you’ve got me, no no / It’s true, without you / It’s Times Square with no lights at midnight.”
Rice, who is very active on Instagram, has teased a few songs off this album including this next one, “Break. Up. Drunk.” Rice posted a video on March 25th showing him and his producer (DeStefano) finalizing the track. It’s about a relationship in which the two parties like each other, but deep down they know it’s not going to go anywhere. So instead of being sad about it, they take advantage of their last night together by splitting a bottle of whiskey and getting into bed together.
“It’s gonna hurt like hell and I don’t wanna feel too much / If we’re gonna break up let’s break up drunk”
There are not many songs Rice records that he doesn’t co-write, but this song was too special to pass on. “I’d say, it’s probably one of my favorite songs that I’ve ever put out,” he says of the next track “Down Home Runs Deep.” “It takes me back to high school. I grew up in a small little town in the mountains of North Carolina, and it was just me and my buddies. We thought we ran that town and, in some ways, I guess we kind of did.” This song was written by Daniel Ross, Mike Walker, James McNair, and one of our favorite rising, country stars, HARDY. Listeners can tell it’s a HARDY song within the first few lines as he describes his hometown with very specific characteristics and catchy phrases. “Smelled the sweet of them pines / And it’s honeysuckle, belt buckle paradise,” he sings in the first verse.
Rice said the final song, “Belong,” wasn’t originally slated for this album, but he felt that it could be used as a comfort to people during these trying times. This is definitely the most meaningful song he has ever released. He discusses how fear, hardships, and uncertainty are all a part of life, and there are positives to be gained in any negative situation. For example, he tells the story of a kid who sold his Jordans for his mother’s treatments, and that helps him realize there’s still love in the world. He also mentions how he feels lost in his cell phone at times, but that phone allows him to remember lyrics and melodies that pay his bills. “The moral of the story is we’re right where we belong,” Rice assures. “Don’t panic. We’re gonna get out of this and the thing is, we’re gonna do it together.”
Rice is also contributing to COVID-19 relief. The “Lonely If You Are” singer announced on his Instagram page last week that he is now on Cameo, a website where users pay celebrities to give personalized shout-outs to their friends and family. He joked that he would use the extra cash for beer money, but actually, he is donating 100% of the profits made from the site to his band and crew.
Rice is scheduled to open up select dates for Rascal Flatts on their Life is a Highway Tour. Although we are uncertain if we will see any concerts this summer, we are certain that these are not the final tracks on The Album; there will be a part III that fans can expect later this year. Rice has grown a lot as an artist over the years and we are excited to see what he has in store for us.

Chase Rice kicked off the new year with a big surprise for his fans by dropping his much-anticipated album titled, The Album Part I at last Friday. If you follow Rice on social media, he’s been teasing fans with new songs for months since topping the charts for back-to-back weeks with “Eyes on You” but never said exactly when the full package would come out. Even though this isn’t his first album, the singer-songwriter looks at this one as the beginning of his career.
“I chose to call this The Album because it’s the first thing I would encourage someone to listen to if they want to know who I am as an artist,” explains Rice in a press release. “My career has been such a rollercoaster journey, but it’s all led to this moment and these songs. So much of what I’ve learned, so much of what I’ve fought through – it’s all reflected in this music.”
When you listen to these seven songs, you truly see how much he has grown as a songwriter and an artist. Instead of singing about girls in pickup trucks, Rice’s sound has matured to something deeper and more meaningful. These seven songs are personal and paint a picture of the good times and the bad times. While his music has evolved, you still get the same gravelly-voiced vocals his fans fell in love with years ago.
The one song you’ve probably heard on your radio already is “Lonely If You Are,” the follow up to his No.1 song, “Eyes on You.” The sleek rhymes over heartland six strings and keys make this song not only catchy and relatable but extremely easy to put on repeat. Rice has been playing it in his live shows for months already and performed it last night on a very dramatic episode of The Bachelor.
“I wrote it with Lindsay Rimes and Hunter Phelps, and when you get to that bridge it’s insane live already – and I don’t think it’s even top 30 yet. When you get to that, ‘let me love the lonely right out of you,’ that’s when you know we’ve got something pretty special here,” Rice says.
“American Nights” is one of the outliers of the album, but not in a bad way. It’s one of the only songs that isn’t about a romantic love. Rice describes the song as being about diversity. “It’s about all these different people going through different things, but at the end of the day, that’s what makes us all Americans and that what makes us all so unique. So ‘American Nights,’ to me, is one of the most special songs on this whole album,” Rice explains.
Probably one of the most personal songs on this new album, “Everywhere,” Rice sings about seeing his ex-girlfriend in everything he does and everywhere he goes. He sings: “You’re in every side street, every sidewalk // Every corner booth, every corner bar // In the dark, darlin’, you’re everywhere // Woah, oh, oh, you’re everywhere”
One of the more relatable songs on the album, Rice wrote it after breaking up with a girlfriend. “It’s about a girl that I dated the last couple years. We had an amazing relationship, had a tough breakup and that’s the way it goes sometimes, but when that happens, usually you’re going to start seeing that person everywhere you go,” Rice says.
In “Best Night Ever” Rice sings about exactly what the title of the song is, the best night ever. You get a look into his word with the lyrics and how they paint a vivid image of a memorable night with his girlfriend. “I live on a farm in Tennessee and I’ve had some nights out on that farm. I’ve had some amazing nights – the sun’s going down – but every now and then, there’s a special night because there’s somebody there to make it special and that’s the case for this song, ‘Best Night Ever.’ I’ve got this old pole barn over there at the farm that, you know, the song kind of speaks for itself,” Rice says of the track.
The singer first teased this song back in November on his Instagram when he played an acoustic version of it. Watch below.
Rice describes “Messy” as one of the most emotional songs he’s put out since “Jack Daniels and Jesus.” He sings about loving every side of someone. In a relationship, even when you see each other’s messy sides, you still love each other through them. The lyrics are deep, honest and raw.
“We’ve all got messy and we’ve all got problems we deal with, but when you have someone to deal with it and help you deal with it through those problems, that’s beautiful,” Rice describes.
In one of the catchiest songs on the album, “In the Car,” Rice takes his fans back to his high school days of sneaking out with his girlfriend. It wasn’t just the thrill of not getting caught and being with your high school love though.
“In the car that night // Saturday in July // We had the radio down and you were teein’ ’em up // In the car that night // Two beautiful eyes // You weren’t even tryin’ // I was fallin’ in love // And the headlights // Met the sunrise // It was so right, oh // In the car that night // We were on fire // Couldn’t get higher // I was yours, you were mine // In the car that night”
Everyone has those songs that take them back to a high school memory and Rice does it with this song. The fun, upbeat sound with lyrics that take you back in time is the perfect mix to blast this song with your windows down.
In the final track, Rice hits it out of the park with “Forever To Go.” Expect to hear this one at weddings for years to come. The lyrics walk you through special memories of falling more and more in love yet knowing you still have a lifetime ahead of you.
“Another year down // And, baby, somehow // Our song never gets old // The honeymoon phase // And butterflies fade // But I’ll never let you go // We were just kids // Stealin’ a kiss // And it feels like forever ago // But I love you more than yesterday // We still got forever to go”
Rice predicts this song could be even bigger than “Eyes on You,” which was the No. 5 most-played country song of 2019. Expect to hear more new songs on The Album Part II later this year.

It’s tough to find a season of the “Bachelor” or “Bachelorette” that doesn’t involve a date featuring an intimate concert by an up and coming country artist. Past performers include Chris Lane, Brett Young, Tenille Arts, LANCO, Granger Smith and Matt Stell, and as of last night’s episode that aired on ABC, Chase Rice.
But Bachelor Peter Weber’s journey to find love took a turn when he and one-on-one date recipient Victoria Fuller arrived on the scene for a serenade of Rice’s “Eyes On You”…it turns out Victoria and the country star knew each other. In fact, they dated. For a terribly awkward few minutes, we watched Pilot Pete dance with his date to Rice’s hit song, totally oblivious to what the singer, Victoria, and by that point, all the viewers knew about their past relationship.
Rice is no stranger to reality TV (he previously appeared on “Survivor: Nicaragua” in 2010) but from the look on his face when Peter and Victoria walked into view it seemed like he had absolutely no idea he would be performing for his ex and her new boyfriend. But you know what they say, God works hard but the Bachelor producers work harder.
Despite the drama (Victoria eventually told the truth in the evening portion of the date, and Peter took it like a champ), Rice’s performance was a true highlight of an emotionally charged episode. The small crowd that joined Peter and Victoria at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Cleveland for the private concert was enthusiastic and singing along as he performed, which isn’t always the case when artists appear on the show.

Chase Rice’s AM/PM Tour stopped at the Playstation Theater in Manhattan to perform an intimate show for his New York fans. He brought along special guests and good friends, Jon Nite and Chris DeStefano.
Nite and DeStefano performed their acoustic set side-by-side. Predominately, songwriters, the two spent their 45-minute set covering songs they’ve written for other artists. Luke Bryan’s “Kick the Dust Up”, Brett Eldredge’s “Don’t Ya”, Jake Owen’s “Beachin’”, Dan + Shay’s “From the Ground Up”, Dierks Bentley’s “Living” and many more chart-topping hits were performed for the boisterous crowd Friday night.
Nite has written fourteen top ten hits for artists including Bryan, Owen, Keith Urban, Darius Rucker, Cole Swindell among others. He picked up a few CMA and ACM awards along the way. He penned Swindell’s “Break Up in the End” which was nominated for Country Song of the Year at the 2019 Grammys. Nite also earned a CMA Triple Play honor, which he received for writing three number one hits in one calendar year. The three songs were Luke Bryan’s “Strip It Down”, Keith Urban’s “Break On Me” and A Thousand Horses’ “Smoke”
DeStefano is a Grammy-winning songwriter and has written number one hits for big-name artists including Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, and Carrie Underwood. He is also the dominant writer/producer for Chase Rice’s albums. DeStefano co-wrote seven songs on Ignite the Night and three on Lambs & Lions, including his number-one single “Eyes on You”. During his set, he began playing the chords of the song, which the audience reacted positively to. “If I played that song now, Chase would kill me,” he joked.
Rice came out on stage to “Lions”, the lead track off his most recent album. He followed that with “Do it Like This”, “Jack Daniels Showed Up” and “On Tonight”. He then confessed that he’s working on a new album and wrote a song three days ago that he was going to play for the audience. “A song that’s three days old is also three days old in my mind and I don’t know all the f***king words….there’s no better place to play it then in this city.” He then performed the new, upbeat song, co-written with DeStefano, titled “The City”. Somehow, the fans knew the song as many of them in the front row were singing along with him. Listen to an acoustic version on Instagram.
Rice’s personality and humor were showcased as he was interactive with the audience throughout the night and spoke to the fans like were his college football teammates. He was also very informative in letting the crowd know what was going on in his life and career. He explained that he considered sending another song off Lambs & Lions to radio but then ultimately decided to record a new album instead. “We’re going to slowly start putting stuff out…I don’t know how this is going to go but I do know one thing and there’s one song starting this next album and it’s this song right here.” He then performed his most recent release, “Lonely If You Are”.
“I heard a quote from a guy named Harlan Howard, who was one of the best songwriters of all time, they asked him what country music was to him…and his response was pretty simple; he said ‘three chords and the truth’,” he explained that that was the inspiration behind his top-25 hit.
He gave a shout-out to Jon Nite for the next song, “Gonna Wanna Tonight” because it was in the 1% of songs he didn’t write himself. “We’ll sing it one more time on that chorus to make sure Jon hears you; as loud as you can,” he demanded of the fans. I guess we weren’t loud enough because Rice responded with: “I’m not bullshitting you, you better be f***ing loud on this chorus.”
He slowed things down with a personal song in “Carolina Can”, a track all about his life growing up in Carolina. He followed that with “Ride”. For this song, Rice brought a couple on stage and separated them by sitting the girl on a high-top, center stage and taking the guy to his bar off stage. Rice sang the romantic chorus to the girl as the boyfriend watched him try to seduce his girlfriend from the side stage. This bit got a lot of laughs from the audience.
His next song was the one he was teasing all night; his number one song, “Eyes on You”. “Cruise”, the track Rice co-wrote with Florida Georgia Line, was next. During the song, he announced his band members, who sported more of a punk-rock look than a country look. They each got to play a snippet of a song of their choice that was unplanned, according to Rice. The two guitar players chose Blink 182’s “All the Small Things” and Lit’s “My Own Worst Enemy”. The bassist began strumming the tune of “Wheels on the Bus” which the crowd loved but Rice did not. Rice made him pick another one so he played Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline”.
His epic finale got better when he rapped Nelly’s verse of “Cruise” which transitioned into “Ready Set Roll”. Before exiting the stage, Rice admitted playing Madison Square Garden is a dream of his and asked the fans to help him get there. Rice certainly has the talent, the personality and the passion for country music to make that dream a reality.

A little over two years after the release of his third studio album, Lambs & Lions, singer-songwriter Chase Rice is celebrating the success of the record with a deluxe version. The platinum-selling singer has garnered international support and success, selling out shows and tours both overseas and in the United States. Rice’s remastered album, Lambs & Lions (Worldwide Deluxe) is available now, featuring two brand new songs and new versions of his hits “Eyes on You” and “On Tonight.”
The deluxe album has a total of fourteen tracks, including the ten original songs, such as Top 20 lead single, “Three Chords & The Truth,” as well as, remastered versions of “Eyes on You” and “On Tonight.” Each remastered and new track add to the singer’s already impressive collection of songs.
Rice’s ‘UK Edition’ of “On Tonight” is the first reimagined track added to the record. The singer was so blown away by his fanbase in the United Kingdom that he decided to create a special UK version of the song, sharing in a press release, “We spent the end of 2018 in London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Birmingham- and they sang every word to our album cuts, especially ‘On Tonight’ off Lambs and Lions. That reaction is what inspired us to create a special U.K. version of the song, and then we asked ourselves ‘why stop there.?’” This marked the start of his deluxe project. The U.K. version of “On Tonight,” features a softer sound and a more stripped-down vocal, but still has the same appeal as the original fan-favorite track.
Continuing to find inspiration from his time and fanbase in Europe, one of Rice’s new songs is entitled “25 Wexford St,” named after the address of a pub in Ireland. The track begins with an EDM-like beat drop that immediately gets your attention. Rice’s vocals are undeniably true to him; however, the song is a slight departure from his typical sound, channeling some English/Irish influences, such as pop superstar Ed Sheeran. The clever love song tells the story about meeting a girl in an Irish bar, “dancing streets to sheets,” and what “a beautiful blur” it was. The song, co-written by the singer with Chris DeStefano and Jim Beavers, definitely has radio potential.
Arguably one of Rice’s biggest hits to date, “Eyes on You” was also reimagined. The ballad was recorded acoustically for the deluxe version of Lambs & Lions. The singer changed up the lyrics to the track to commemorate his time in the U.K. In the opening verse, Rice changes the lyrics to “Drivin’ up and down the coast a few times / London, Paris, Paradise.” The heartfelt lyrics are just as impressive in the acoustic version.
Finally, the newest addition to the record is “Love Me Like You Don’t,” penned by Greg Bates, Shelley Skidmore, and Michael White.” The song fits Rice’s striking vocals effortlessly and easily seems like a story he has lived. The lyrics paint the picture of a girl choosing to love a guy; despite, his flaws. It is heartfelt, relatable, and catchy. The song will appeal to fans of the singer’s “Three Chords & The Truth.” “You knew the ride I was on / But you love me like you don’t / You don’t worry about the things I’ve done / Where I’ve been or who I was / You only see the guy I’m trying to be / You know you could have had anyone else / Made it easier on yourself / You know my crazy episode / But you love me like you don’t.”
Overall, Lambs & Lions (Worldwide Deluxe) is a solid compilation of songs that show Rice’s range and development as an artist and a songwriter. It’s clear he appreciates his fans’ support. The album is available across all platforms.
Next up, Rice will continue to play in shows in the U.K., including The O2 festival with fellow country artists, Keith Urban, Brett Eldredge, and Cam, as well as, SE Hydro in Glasgow, later this month. Chase Rice released his third studio album today, Lambs & Lions, on Broken Bow Records. After three years, Rice is excited to finally release a full-length album filled with music he is proud of, for his fans. “I was fed up with trying, whether that was trying to be something I’m not, trying to make music that people said I should make or trying to make music I felt people wanted to hear. Instead, I decided I’m going to make music that I needed to hear,” He says in a recent press release. Co-writing 7 of the songs, Rice has put his personal stamp on the LP.
The 10-track Lambs & Lions is a culmination of a maturing artist, creating music with a new label who supports his vision. “Saved Me” and “Eyes on You” are standouts, giving an ode to love, faith and small towns. The first single, released earlier this year “Three Chords & the Truth” is currently sitting in the top 40 on the Country Airplay charts.
“I see you blinking through your blue eyes / How a song can turn back time / You can almost feel the sand on your feet / From the passenger seat / Singing “Anything But Mine” / And don’t you know we were raised on the radio”
Rodney Clawson and Jamie Moore, writers on “Amen”, spin a beautiful image and testament to faith. A gospel choir backs Rice’s delicate delivery, filling even the non-believer with conviction. To close out the album Rice does an impressive, modern day cover of Chris LaDoux’s classic “This Cowboy’s Hat” which even features Chris’ son Ned. The Carolina native does have one party song on the record, “Jack Daniels Showed Up”, a high energy drinkin’ song that will be a great tune for his live set. Kicking off our very first of a #TBT Series, we bring you this week’s find – “Getting’ Down In A Pirate Town.”
The setting is the streets of Downtown Nashville, in June of 2011. Jesse Rice, Chase Rice, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard are standing on a street corner singing a song they wrote as part of a coastal-inspired album after taking a trip down to the Florida Keys. This video, taken a year before the four songwriters hit big with “Cruise” features four friends before their lives changed forever. (Cue the chills.)
