Yeah // And if he’s just a friend, then tell me why’s he always calling? // (Why’s he c-) // You can’t play me like a fiddle girl // See that’s where you went wrong // There’s been rumors round this town”

Chase Matthew releases his third studio album, CHASE,out now, February 21st, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new project here.
With a unique sound and an incredible story, Chase Matthew has quickly become one of Nashville’s fastest rising stars. On his third album, the simply titled CHASE, Matthew continues to perfect his own brand of country music.
For the Nashville native and Warner Music artist, CHASE represents the next logical step in his career, showing his growth as both a singer and songwriter. The album features thirteen new songs, nine of which Matthew wrote or co-wrote. Other writers on the album include some of the genre’s biggest names, including Brock Berryhill, Ashley Gorley, Michael Tyler, Parker Welling, and more.
Throughout CHASE, Matthew samples hip hop beats, rock guitars, country riffs, and radio-ready pop in a way that somehow works perfectly. Much like megastars Kane Brown, Sam Hunt, and Jason Aldean, Chase Matthew has crafted a uniquely single-ready sound.
The album opens with the earwormy “Drives My Truck,” a catchy and roaring ode to a girl who looks even more attractive behind the wheel of his favorite truck. It’s the perfect opening track, immediately grabbing a listener and setting up what’s to come.
“She’s burning that gas, smoking those tires // Setting this old boy’s heart on fire // She gets me just like it, all jacked up // My baby drives me crazy when she drives my truck”
“Waiting On You” and “No Name Roads” follow similar suit, catchy lyrics over radio-ready melodies that are sure to make Matthew a huge star. “Missin’ Me Missin’ You” is also pop-country perfection, finding him committed to being someone’s ex and not turning back to the relationship.
One of the album’s immediate standouts is “Heart Half Empty,” featuring Lauren Alaina. On the gorgeous breakup ballad, the pair channel some of the greatest duets of all time, trading verses over their broken hearts.
“Need you after one too many // Three shots to try forgetting // All the reasons we didn’t work out// Getting lost in the whiskey cloud// I’m sure I’ll be back tomorrow // Still drinking about what we used to be // With a glass half full // But a heart half empty “
Breakups are definitely a prevalent theme on CHASE, weaving through songs like “Backroads of my Mind,” “You Turn,” and “I Don’t Wanna Know.” While the latter is a hip-hop inspired dedication to ignorance being bliss, “Backroads” is a driving and catchy country-rock anthem.
“You’re tearing up the backroads of my mind // Your memory’s driving me crazy // And ever since the night we said goodbye // It’s all I think about baby // I see you at every turn, every light, Every inch of outskirt, red dirt, we’d ride // You cross my heart like a county line // You’re tearin’ up the backroads of my mind.”
While Matthew is definitely a superstar on uptempo tracks, his heart and talent are on full display on some of the album’s slower and more introspective moments. “Driving Through My Hometown” is a gorgeous piece of nostalgia that finds the young songwriter traveling through his hometown and musing over the memories there. Likewise, “If I Had Wings” finds him longing for wings to pay a special visit to Heaven.
Likewise, “Sunday Clothes” finds him sitting in a pew, heartbreakingly mourning the unexpected loss of a friend. Lyrically, it’s stunning, evoking images of a young man lost and filled with loss. “Here sitting in a front row pew, Tears raining on these old boots, Suffocating in a collared shirt, While I’m waiting to carry you out of this church,” He sings. “Man, we shouldn’t be here today, You got me cussing in and out of this place, You’ve been saying this is where I need to go, But Saturdays ain’t made for Sunday clothes.“
The album ends with “No Way Around It,” a driving uptempo about the struggle that comes with trying to move on after a breakup. “If there was a you fix, I woulda found it,” He growls, unable to find closure. “But I’m going through it, cause there ain’t no way around it.“ It’s the perfect bookend to “Drives My Truck,” ending the album on a high note similar to the way it began.

Chase Matthew releases his new EP, Always Be Mine, out now, July 4th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new project here.
Warner Music Nashville recording artist Chase Matthew continues to release music that speaks to his talent and attracts more and more followers. Today, the singer-songwriter is sharing a brand new EP called Always Be Mine. The record features five new songs.
The record kicks off with the title track, a nostalgic song that feels summer-ready. Despite the bittersweet message in the song, the track feels like the perfect groove for the summer season. “Always Be Mine” fits in effortlessly with Matthew’s previous, nostalgic releases.
“You’ll always be try senior year summer // You’ll always be my can’t believe I got your number // You’ll always be that tear in a bench seat // Wine in a Dixie // First girl I told I love her // You’ll always be the one I saw forever with // You’ll always be the one my momma would picked // Yeah you’ll always be the one I’m // talking to the sun ‘bout // why’d it have to end like this”
The bittersweet feeling is evident on the next song of the project called “First.” Matthew laments on how it feels to miss an old lover; despite, trying to get over her. With lyrics like, “it’s hard to love anybody else, when I loved you first,” the song hits you right in your chest with that all-to-familiar heartache.
Matthew brings some edge to track three, “Crazy Girls.” The song is the perfect embodiment of falling in love with the wild and crazy girls aka the girls that will burn your house down. As the only song not co-written by the singer, “Crazy Girls” fits into the project perfectly.
One of the standout songs on the record is “Saltwater Cinderella.” “This Always Be Mine EP came together somewhat spontaneously, and ‘Saltwater Cinderella’ is a great example of inspiration striking me in the moment,” shared the singer in a recent press release, “I wrote that one with close friends as I was headed down to Florida for BMI’s Key West Songwriters Festival. It’s a fun summer song about those girls that love to spend time at the beach. Hope y’all get out on the water and turn it up!”
“And her nicotine // Ain’t blowing smoke / The sand on her feet // A little Toby Keith on the radio // She’s a saltwater Cinderella // One kiss is all it takes // When she’s swimming in the water // Heaven ain’t far away // She’s the beauty queen of the ocean // Hit ya’ like at idol wave // Sunshine when it’s storming // Kissing her in the rain // Saltwater Cinderella // My saltwater Cinderella”
Matthew closes out the EP with a slower song called “How You Been (Letter To The County Line Girl).” The song is a heartfelt and honest one-sided conversation to the girl the singer wrote his song, “County Line” about. Arguably the best song on the project, Matthew shows off his songwriting girt, as well as, his ability to convey emotion in his music.
“Do your friends still think I”m crazy // We never cared we were so in love // Is your car still running on empty // While my minds still running on us // I still hear your voice singing to me // As you were playing on your Gibson guitar // I’m not here to tell you something that we should be // It’s just been weighing on my heart // I don’t miss what we had back when // But how you been”
Overall, Always Be Mine solidifies Matthew’s incredible talent. While we were already fans of the singer, this EP makes us root for him even harder! Anyone who hasn’t jumped on the bandwagon yet, needs to get to it ASAP!

Chase Matthew releases his new EP, We All Grow Up,out now, February 16th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new project here.
On his new EP, We All Grow Up, Chase Matthew is poetic and nostalgic about the trappings of life in a small town, love, heartbreak, and everything in between. Featuring six new songs, four of which he co-wrote, the project serves as a solid introduction to the Warner Music Nashville artist.
For the Nashville native with a well-publicized troubled past, the EP reflects overcoming adversity for something greater, which included a March 2023 Opry Debut. This summer, the young star will also hit the road with Jason Aldean, continuing his meteoric rise as he cleverly blends hip hop infused beats with a country twang.
“This project has been a blast to put together. Each one of these songs makes you feel something,” shares Matthew. “‘We All Grow Up’ feels reminiscent. ‘Small Town Shit’ might make you feel like a hometown badass. ‘Darlin” is one of my favorites because I’ve been in that situation before. I’ve had a great time working on this one with some great friends. Can’t wait for y’all to hear it!”
The EP opens with the title track, a nostalgic throwback that is sure to win over legions of new fans. On the mid-tempo anthem, Matthew shares a poetic look at the kids he grew up with, admitting that they all took different paths. “Some left town and some got stuck, It takes a whole lotta God, a little bit of love,” He sings. “But we all settle down and we all grow up.”
Similar themes weave through tracks like “Small Town Shit” and “Dirt Road Does.” On the former, which is remnant of tracks like Kane Brown’s “Bury Me in Georgia” or Aldean’s “Burnin’ it Down,” the newcomer booms through a barn burner as he celebrates all the things that make small towns special. Alternatively, the album’s closing track, “Dirt Road Does,” shows a more vulnerable side of the singer-songwriter as he likens his love to a dirt road, and while it shouldn’t work, it absolutely does. Over a sparse guitar ballad, he muses “I thank God everyday for the both of you // Yeah your brown eyes and a two lane windshield view // When I’ve been gone too long // You both know how to take me home.”
“Darling” finds him suspicious of a girl on the hip-hop infused track that finds him channeling Brown and Sam Hunt as he questions her. “If he’s just a friend, then why’s he always calling?” He asks on the earwormy track. “Why’s he call you darling, Why’s he call you daily?”
“Make You Miss Me” and “I Don’t Carolina” both find Matthew dealing with heartbreak. On “Miss Me,” he wants her to regret the end, while “I Don’t Carolina” turns to clever lyrics as he deals with a breakup with a Carolina girl. On the moving heartbreak ballad, he name drops cities like Charlotte, Raleigh and the Outer Banks before going anywhere to escape her. “I’ll head to Texas, Times Square,” He proclaims. “Anywhere I won’t find ya, ‘Cause I don’t Carolina.”
On We All Grow Up, Chase Matthew is sure to continue his meteoric rise to stardom, and it’s only a matter of time before he’s filling arenas on his own.
