Blake Shelton has become synonymous with country music. No matter how much time passes between singles or projects, Shelton will always have a permanent home in the genre. Today, the superstar adds to his impressive music catalog with a new song called, “Texas.”
“The thing that struck me about ‘Texas’ immediately was how different it sounded for me, and I’m always looking to push myself. I think there’s something really special about this record and important for me,” shared Shelton in a recent press release. “Texas” marks Shelton’s debut for his new label home, BBR MUSIC GROUP/BMG NASHVILLE and Wheelhouse Records.
The new song, written by Johnny Clawson, Kyle Sturrock, Josh Dorr, and Lalo Guzman finds a man grappling with the emotions of being left alone, after a free-spirited woman leaves for most likely, Texas. The song is charming, thought-provoking, and a perfect song for Shelton to add to his catalog.
We are excited to see what is next for Shelton, as he embarks on this new chapter in his career. “Texas” is just the beginning of the new era!

Blake Shelton returns with new music, releasing his new song “No Body,” out now, August 19th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below.
As we anticipate a new season of music for Blake Shelton, the country superstar is wasting no time. Shelton is heading back to his roots, sharing a traditional, true-blue country song with fans. Today, he releases his brand new track called, “No Body.”
Donning an old-school mullet on the cover art, Shelton is taking us all back to the 90s. According to a recent press release the singer shares, “I get excited and feel like a kid every time we release new music, but this song in particular takes me back to the ’90s when I was in high school and first moved to Nashville, because it feels like what the music sounded like at that time.”
“Don’t want to scoot the boot to no body // It’s straight tequila drunk on no body // Wrap around these options around no body / No body but yours // Don’t want to shadow dance with no body // Slide some cotton off of no body // Don’t want to wake up kissing no body // No body but yours”
“No Body” feels like old-school Shelton, and we are here for it! With so much nuance in country music right now, it is always nostalgic and enjoyable to hear a song feel made for the 90s music landscape. “No Body” fits the bill.

Zac Brown Band collaborates with Blake Shelton on, “Out In The Middle,” out now, June 22nd, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the new track below.
It is always exciting when two artists collaborate on a song, especially when those artists are superstars and have 42 number-one hits between them. Today, Zac Brown Band adds Blake Shelton to a re-imagined version of their single, “Out In The Middle”.
A rugged southern rock anthem about country lifestyle, “Out In The Middle” is for anyone who grew up in the fly-over states that can relate to the imagery painted by writers Brown, Ben Simonetti, Jonathan Singleton, and Luke Combs. It is both lyrically and sonically similar to two of Shelton’s newer songs, “Come Back as a Country Boy” and the 4x-Platinum hit, “God’s Country.” Like in the original, Brown sings the first verse and chorus while Shelton takes over on the second. The two artists come together for a dramatic final chorus.
“Out in the middle where the hard work meets hard living // Out in the middle where we’re grown ’til we’re gone, God willing // Just some good old boys and good old girls // Hunting red dirt dreams in a concrete world // Getting by on just a little, out in the middle”
“Out In The Middle” currently sits just outside the top-30 on country radio, but having Shelton join the track can help push it closer to the top.
The GRAMMY-winning group is currently on their tour of the same name. For fans in the New York area, the tour hits Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, on Thursday, August 18th. For tickets and a full list of tour dates, head to their website.

Blake Shelton has had a legendary career in country music, making him a celebrity inside the genre and out. With six platinum records, 28 number-one singles, and nine GRAMMY-nominations, Shelton will go down as one of the biggest artists in country music history. His ability to blend modern and traditional country sounds has allowed him to stay at the forefront of the genre.

Like “God’s Country,” “Come Back As A Country Boy” contains backing steel-guitar and woodsy sounds. “Fire Up The Night” is tailgate party anthem which also features HARDY’s vocals. The two describe what needs to happen to get the good time started. Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley also helped pen this song, along with Bart Butler.
The other two songs are placed on the back of the record. “Throw It On Back” is another fun, drinking tune featuring iconic 90s country duo, Brooks & Dunn. They discuss the feeling they get when they revert back to old-school items, styles, and songs. The project concludes with a love song Shelton co-wrote with Craig Wiseman titled “We Can Reach The Stars.”Shelton sings about how strong the love is between him and his romantic partner and how it allows them to overcome even the most difficult of times.

All of the greats we know and love today were once the opening acts, too. Get to know today’s openers from summer 2021’s hottest country music tours.
Not only did your favorite superstars reunite with the stage this past summer, but your future favorite entertainers had the opportunity to share it with them this country concert season as well. Country music is famous for having incredible ‘superstars-to-be’ open for their major tours, and here at Country Swag, we have your guide to all the of the show openers. Learn more about this year’s opening acts below.
Tenille Arts just earned her first #1 on country radio with the smash “Somebody Like That”, following the release of her second studio album, Love, Heartbreak & Everything In Between. All her hard work is paying off this year, as she gears up for new releases and as summer set in, Arts found herself as the opening act on on Lady A’s ‘What A Song Can Do Tour’. Tenille Arts is without a doubt one of the best vocalists and songwriters of this new class of country artists and if you caught the show, you will probably agree.
Matt Stell, one of our artists to watch and Live Swag Session alums is taking over country music one single at a time. His debut single, “Prayed For You” is one of the most popular love songs in country music, and his new single, “That Ain’t Me No More” has been sent to country radio. This summer, he joined Old Dominion and Miranda Lambert on their respective run of shows.
Lainey Wilson and HARDY were both opening acts for Jason Aldean’s ‘Back In The Saddle Tour’ and if you caught the show, you know they rightfully earned their time in the spotlight. This isn’t the first time the two have toured together either; they opened for Morgan Wallen on his first headline tour over two years ago. HARDY and Wilson both released critically acclaimed albums in the past year (A ROCK and Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’, respectively) and as those albums indicated, their fiery songs got fans up and out of their seats each and every night just as fast as they sat down in them!
The full list of country tours and their opening acts are listed below. One of the best feelings is when you go to a show not knowing the opener and leaving a forever fan. Blake Shelton’s new album, Body Language, featuring “Happy Anywhere,” “Minimum Wage,” and the title track co-written by The Swon Brothers is out now, May 21st. Read our full review of the project below.
For an artist like Blake Shelton, it would be easy to rest on his laurels, his greatest hits, and his seemingly permanent seat on NBC’s The Voice. However, Shelton has continued to release new music, including a greatest hits collection in 2019 and 2017’s Texoma Shore. Today, May 21, Shelton released his first full-length offering in nearly four years, Body Language.
The album opens with “Minimum Wage,” a hooky uptempo which finds Shelton comparing his woman’s love to money, as that love can “make a man feel rich on minimum wage.” Despite initially capturing some negative and unwarranted social media attention, the song is the perfect intro to Body Language with an anthemic sound that is somehow typical of Shelton while also introducing a new, more confident troubadour.
The title track features former “Team Blake” members, The Swon Brothers, and was co-written by the 2013 The Voice contestants, along with Matt McGinn and Ryan Beaver. When the duo played the song for their mentor, Shelton was immediately taken aback and asked to record what has become one of his favorite tracks. “It’s such a cool phrase,” Shelton says of the title track. “The song has really proven itself over time. Even after my producer Scott [Hendricks] put the album together and listened and lived with it for a while, it jumped out every time and still never gets skipped listening back.”
The sunny side of Shelton is on display on songs like “Whatcha Doin’ Tomorrow?,” “The Girl Can’t Help It,” “Happy Anywhere” and “Makin’ It Up As You Go,” which is the perfect summer track, despite being a breakup song. “How long does it take for a heart to unbreak?” Shelton croons breezily. “I’m just makin’ it up as I go.” Meanwhile, “Happy Anywhere” features Shelton’s fiance, Gwen Stefani, and highlights airy steel guitar punctuated by Stefani’s background vocals.
It’s not all sunshine and rainbows on Body Language, however, as Shelton is feeling bittersweet on “Now I Don’t,” reminiscing about his ex and all the ways he’s moved on from his broken heart. Co-written by Jessi Alexander, Alysa Vanderheym, and Michael Hardy, the song has Shelton defiant in the face of heartbreak. “I took a pretty good beatin’ to bounce back // Now I’m back on my feet laughing at the fact // That I ever used to wish I could get you back,” Shelton sings. “‘Cause now I don’t.”
While Shelton experiments with different sounds on Body Language, one of the album’s most tried and true country songs is “Corn,” a tongue-in-cheek ode to the vegetable Shelton has most often surrounded himself with. While it may be silly, it’s a fun and fiddle-filled three minutes. If Luke Bryan’s “Rain Is a Good Thing,” had a long-lost cousin, “Corn” would certainly be it.
“Monday Mornin’ Missin’ You” is Shelton at his most Shelton, with its modern meets traditional country sound, while “Neon Time” is another beachy anthem. Co-written by Jaron Boyer, Michael Tyler, and Ben West, the track is a musical vacation, an ode to slipping into a bar and escaping real life for the weekend. “Yeah, we’re living on neon time // Smoking up the room and clearing our minds // Little lean back and kick it // Little cold beer with it,” Shelton croons. “Let it hit ya just right, yeah // Something ’bout the way the neon shines // It goes perfect with a Friday night // You ain’t thinking ‘bout 9 to 5 // When you’re living on neon time.”
The album ends with “Bible Verses,” a somber and introspective look at a complicated relationship with religion. “As far as saving me goes, it’s a battle up a hill,” Shelton admits as he tries to find solace in the Bible, feeling like he’s not measuring up to what’s inside. For now, Shelton is trying to give himself a little grace, as he longs for a better day. “That I can open up the good book // And heaven don’t look like it’s out of reach // When it feels like those apostles are giving me the gospel // And not the third degree,” He reflects on the stunning track. “Like bible verses and not the bible versus me.”
On Body Language, Blake Shelton stays true to himself, releasing a classic Shelton collection that still manages to sound new and fresh. With songs like “Bible Verses,” “Happy Anywhere,” and “Neon Time,” Shelton has ensured that he’ll achieve the one goal he had with putting out this album. “I want to have some great country songs to sing,” he revealed. “I want people to hear the album and enjoy it.”
Shelton will be hitting the road later this year for the Friends and Heroes Tour 2021, kicking off August 18 in Omaha, Nebraska. The tour will hit Philadelphia on September 2, featuring special guests Martina McBride, Tracy Bryd, Trace Adkins, and Lindsay Ell.

Blake Shelton released a brand new song, “Bible Verses” ahead of his 12th studio album, ‘Body Language’ due out May 21st. Take a look below as we dig a little deeper into the new music.
As we anticipate the release of country superstar, Blake Shelton’s 12th studio album, Body Language, the singer gives fans another taste of the upcoming record. After releasing “Minimum Wage” and his duet with Gwen Stefani, “Happy Anywhere,” Shelton debuts the another track off the project called “Bible Verses.”
In a recent press release the singer shared, “No matter where you are in your faith, there are times you feel like you don’t measure up,” adding, “[The song] is an honest take on that conflict, but without preaching too much, it’s hopeful that everything will all work out in the end.”
One of Shelton’s most vulnerable ballads to date, the singer conveys what it’s like to struggle with your flaws. Written by prolific songwriters, Joe Fox, Andrew Peebles, and Brett Sheroky, the story is one that many people can find themselves in. It is clear in the singer’s impactful delivery that he is baring his heart, playing the role of a tortured soul.
“That I can open up that good book // And Heaven don’t look // Like it’s out of reach // When it feels like those apostles // Are giving me the gospel // And not the third degree // I just want it to read // Like Bible verses // And not the Bible versus me”
In the twenty years that Shelton has been a staple in country music when he burst on to the scene with “Austin,” he has provided us with an incredible catalog of songs. From the looks of it his next studio album, Body Language seems to fit the bill!
