Shaboozey Goes Number One at Country Radio with “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”

Shaboozey earns his first number one song at country radio with his viral single, “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” Learn all the details here.

Shaboozey is an anomaly in music right now. He is not quite country, not quite R&B, not quite Pop, and yet it all works. He fits in perfectly and glides in an out of genres effortlessly. His viral hit, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” appealed to fans cross-genre, as well as, radio and industry alike. This week, Shaboozey officially earns his first number one single at radio with that same song!

While, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has graced the Country charts, the Pop charts, the Rhythmic charts, and the Adult Pop charts, we are proud to have the single reach the top of the country airplay charts first. The song is the epitome of blending a fun, countrified lyric with a more rhythmic beat. Here at Country Swag, we also love that the song interpolates J-Kwon’s 2004 hip-hop classic, “Tipsy,” adding to the nostalgia that the single already possesses.

“One, here comes the two to the three to the four // Tell ’em bring another out, we need plenty more // Two steppin’ on the table, she don’t need a dancefloor  // Oh my, good Lord // Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey // They know me and Jack Daniels got a history // There’s a party downtown near Fifth Street // Everybody at the bar gettin’ tipsy // Everybody at the bar gettin’ tipsy // Everybody at the bar gettin’ tipsy”

Congratulations to Shaboozey and his team on their accomplishment. We are excited what’s next for the rising star.
