Elle King Drops Fiery New Song “Out Yonder”

Elle King’s new song “Out Yonder,” is out now, March 18th, on all streaming platforms. Listen to the brand new track below to find out more.

Although considered a pop/rock artist, Elle King, best known for her 2014 number one hit, “Ex’s and Oh’s,” has always had a passion for country music. She grew up listening to a variety of singers including Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, which inspired her to learn how to play the banjo. In 2016, she got her first taste of mainstream country radio when she featured on Dierks Bentley’s GRAMMY-nominated song, “Different for Girls.” Additionally, in 2019, she was a part of the massive collaboration cover of Elvin Bishop’s “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” alongside Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes, Caylee Hammack, and Miranda Lambert. Both collaborations won awards for Music Event of the Year at the CMAs and ACMs, respectively. Finally, she wrote and featured on the single “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” with Lambert. The song has achieved great success across all-genre charts and is currently sitting in the Top 5 on country radio.

Out today, “Out Yonder” is a banjo and electric guitar-driven southern rock anthem about how gossip spreads like wildfire in a small town. King expresses how she doesn’t care or want to know about the drama going around town because there are always two sides of the story. Written by Ella Langley, Matt McKinney, and Bobby Hamrick, the song is an upbeat tune, paired with catchy lyrics, making this a fun track to sing-along and rock out to.

“Gotta rip it right up at the roots // You can keep your mouth runnin’ // Hell Jesus might love ya’ // But that don’t mean I do // So take your front page, two-faced, petty ass drama // Leave it out, leave it out, leave it out yonder”

King is currently wrapping up her Drunk and I Don’t Wanna Go Home Tour on the west coast and just recently performed at Nashville’s own Ryman Auditorium. She will support Chris Stapleton on his All-American Road Show Tour starting in Canada this April. The tour will stop in the NYC area on August 25 at Northwell Health’s Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh. For tickets, head to her website.
