When rising star, Dasha came on the scene, she was instantly embraced by country fans for her one-of-a-kind talent and charisma. While her viral song, “Austin” may have put her on the map, her debut album, What Happens Now? showcases that she is much more than one viral song. Today, Dasha celebrates her return to her roots by releasing the deluxe version of her project, What Happens Now? Deluxe.
“I’ve never really felt at home in any other space until the country genre. Releasing the deluxe version of What Happens Now? Feels like the end of an era,” shared Dasha in a recent press release. “I’m really proud of this project and the chapter we created together, and it has set me up for even better and brighter things in the future. The world of country generously opened their arms so big for me and my debut. Artists like Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini and Keith Urban have really encouraged me to go bigger and bolder while doing what I love as a human and an artist. For that, I’ll be forever thankful.”
When she chatted with Country Swag last November, Dasha revealed, “I had this epiphany and was like ‘I have to go back to my roots and start making country music again’, so in the last nine months to a year, I’ve really dove into that […] I have never had such an amazing time making music before. Music has never come so effortlessly to me before as it has with this music. It’s the beginning of this new country era.”
The deluxe version of the project houses five new songs, including, “Didn’t I?” Each of the songs showcase her talent, as she leans into her incredible songwriting prowess. Songs like “Leaving Don’t Mean Goodbye” and “Ain’t No Friend of Mine” capture the essence of her artistry. Both songs read like diary entries, as Dasha unapologetically shares her truth in all of her music.
Each new song keeps with the heart of the debut project, while embedding even more honesty into an already authentic project. With each and every release, Dasha plants her feet firmly into the country music soil, where she belongs.

Known for his unique rasp, bad-boy-meets-balladeer image and righteous redneck swagger, Brantley Gilbert is taking it back to the basics on his new album, Tattoos, out now. Featuring ten new tracks, all of which he co-wrote, the album shows the Georgia native stripping himself bare to reveal everything that he stands for.
“All my albums, they capture a chapter of my life,” Gilbert explained in a statement. “If somebody wants to know who I am, what I’ve been through and where I stand, they can start at the beginning and listen through, and that’s why it was undeniable that Tattoos should be the title – because my tattoos do the same thing.”
Featuring Gilbert shirtless and on full display, the album cover is eye-catching yet mysterious, the music found within capturing that same vibe. Throughout the collection, Gilbert explores various tropes of the country genre, dabbling in patriotism, faith, drinking, small towns, and the merits of hard work. Yet, he avoids being trite as he meshes driving guitars, hip-hop-laced verses, and powerful duets to tell a carefully crafted story.
The album opens with a one-two punch of collaborations, kicking off with the roaring “Dirty Money,” featuring Justin Moore. Sonically, it’s an immediate ear-grabber, a growling celebration of the value of getting your hands dirty in the name of sweat equity. “I was like, man, we’re just going to let the guns loose on this one,” Gilbert says of the track. “Let all the dogs off the leashes and get after it.”
“Over When We’re Sober” is a clear standout of the Valory Music artist’s LP, finding Gilbert trading mournful verses with Ashley Cooke. The singers grapple with a toxic relationship on the power ballad, finding them falling into old habits when they’re under the influence, while realizing the truth the next morning. “They say it’s over when it’s over, but they don’t know us,” They heart-achingly harmonize. “It’s only over when we’re sober.”
Other collabs on the album span the gamut, ranging from the immediately recognizable falsetto of Rascal Flatts’ frontman, Gary Levox, on “God Isn’t Country” to the lesser known hip hop stylings of Struggle Jennings and Demun Jones on “Me and My House.” Both songs tackle similar themes with the LeVox duet celebrating the evidence of a higher power, while “Me and My House” is a statement of traditional values and patriotism.
“A lot of times I see folks trying to pull me into a political battle, but this song is not political at all, and it’s not preachy,” Gilbert says. “I believe that all of us are the kings and queens of our own castle, and I would never in a million years tell somebody how to run their home. It’s just about sharing how we run ours, what home is to us. I think it’s a song people won’t just relate to, I think it’s a song we need.”
The album’s title track is another standout, a slow burn that tells Gilbert’s story through his body art. “I knew I had one that really captured who I am,” he shares. “It doesn’t sound like anything else you’ve heard before, and it really gives you the long and short of my life, which is what my tattoos do.”
“My body is a temple // But my temple is a canvas // These ain’t just some tattoos // This is who I am // This is what I’ve been through // This is where I stand // This is where I came from, what I fight for, what I love // What made a man out of that old boy that I was // And I ain’t going back to, I didn’t get ‘em ‘cause I had to // These ain’t just some tattoos”
“Gone By Now” is a prayer of thanksgiving for his wife, Amber, a romantic and powerful ballad that finds him in celebration of her virtues and fidelity. “If I was you, I would’ve been gone by now,” He admits. “It takes a special kind of woman to put up with a boy like me.”
Both “Off the Rails” and “The Hell That Raised Us” are classic Gilbert hellraisers, singalong vocals mixed with riffing guitars in an anthemic manner. Meanwhile, “Out Here” and “Miss These Towns” are celebrations of small town life, with the former lifting up the lifestyle of getting off the grid. Finally, “Miss These Towns” closes the album on a poignant note, inviting listeners to enjoy the moment. On the sparse and nostalgic piano ballad, he waxes poetic about the decline and replacement of small town USA, including the one in which he was raised.
For Brantley Gilbert, the album represents where he’s been, who he is, and what he’s overcome. “People get ’em for a lot of reasons, but for most of us, tattoos talk about our victories and losses, our struggles and the whole nine,” he says of his body art. “I was one of those kids who had to learn the hard way. But if I would’ve listened to the advice of others, I don’t know I would have ended up where I’m at.”

The Beginning:
Back in September of 2021, we introduced you to New York native, Brooke Moriber. Morriber is an incredible songwriter and a powerhouse vocalist. We caught up with the songstress to learn more about her story and hear all about her latest new music.
“I grew up in New York City, actually in Greenwich Village,” began the singer. “I was exposed to every kind of music under the sun and I always wanted to be a performer, since before I could remember.” Growing up, both of her parents were formerly involved in the arts. “I ended up starting out as a performer in Broadway musicals. When I was a kid, I auditioned for Les Miserables and I got it when I was eight years old.”
This started the songstress on the trajectory to perform for a living; despite, always having a desire to share her own story. “I ended up doing seven broadway musicals, and I loved doing it, but in the back of my mind, I always thought I was in the wrong part of this business, and I wanted to write music and connect with people on a deeper level.”
She found inspiration in artists like Linda Ronstadt and Billy Joel, but truly loved many genres. “It ranged from 90s hiphop, to grunge to people like Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, and Shania Twain,” shared Moriber. “I guess that’s where some of the country comes out of me, but I was listening to everything,” she adds.
Unfortunately, when the singer was a teenager, she was diagnosed with a rare eye disease that left her blind for four years. “It wasn’t suppose to come back, but four years later, the disease went into remission, and when this happened, I started to write music, and as cheesy as it sounds, I truly believe that music is the thing that healed me. It has ever since then been my mission to share my stories with people and help other people heal through music.”
The Turning Point:
Moriber continued to perform on Broadway and played gigs with her band as much as she could in New York City. However, it was after many people kept telling her to try out Nashville that she fell in love with another city. “Once I was in Nashville, I just started going to writer’s rounds and watching people, and just immersing myself in it. It just became a part of me. I love the genre beyond words,” shared the artist.
During those co-writes in Nashville, Moriber fell in love with the genre and country music. Nowadays, she is inspired by the ladies in country music like Ella Langley, Carly Pearce, and Avery Anna. “All the girls in country music that are just really inspiring. I’m really inspired by the women and the community in Nashville. I think women have had to be really strong to be taken seriously, and they had to be really good to be taken seriously. The talent out there is so awe-inspiring.”
Moriber later added, “After my first writing session, I just knew this was home. A lightbulb just went off, and I formed a family out there of friends and musicians, and I felt like they welcomed me with open arms.” It was then that she began to travel back and forth from New York to Nashville for work.
Nashville was the stepping stone that allowed Moriber to finally fully embody her career as a recording artist. She later signed a deal with Reviver Entertainment Group and released there debut song, “The Town Made Us.”
Today:
Flash forward to today, Moriber is releasing music that she is proud of. Each and every song and project she shares is a true embodiment of where she is at in her life currently. Most recently, the singer-songwriter released an EP called All Heart, which features two version of her fan-favorite song, “Half a Heart.”
“My EP features a new piano-version of my song “Half a Heart.” It’s one of those songs that I didn’t know how it was going to do when I first released it. […] It’s actually one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written, it’s so deeply personal,” shared the singer, adding, “I’ve ben hosting this bimonthly show called Nashville New York, and I actually played “Half a Heart” on piano acoustically, and after that a bunch of people asked for an acoustic version of the song.”
In addition to the project, Moriber recently released a song called “So Do I.” “At the moment, “So Do I” is its own entity. […] That song was interesting how it came about. I went into a writing session, and we were bouncing back and forth ideas, and none of us were super jazzed with any of the ideas. […] We started writing lyrics to this vibey and arid track. It was this very organic and cool experience, and I hadn’t written top-line to anything since I was doing the pop thing,” shared the artist.

This marks the second time Green and Langley have collaborated on a song together. Langley’s son, “you look like you love me” is currently climbing the country charts. “Don’t Mind If I Do” is another representation of their unique individual talents and their talents as a duo. Written solely by Green, the new song conveys the heartfelt sentiment of missing someone you still love. Young rising star, Jackson Dean blew fans and the country music industry away when he released his debut album, Greenbroke back in 2022. About two and half years later, the Big Machine Records recording artist is refining his sound with a brand new project. Dean’s new album, On The Back Of My Dreams is officially out today.
The singer named his record with purpose. According to Dean, “The title can be interpreted from a few different angles but the face value of that phrase is that in-between state, when you’re in the process of waking up, but reality hasn’t quite set in and each song on this project has a little bit of that magical surreal feeling…its drawn from a lyric in the song ‘Jane,’ this kind of otherworldly, misty or ethereal tune that immediately embedded into my brain.” shared the singer in a recent press release. “I’ve intentionally lived a lot of life and have watched a lot of life be lived and each of these songs were written from a single frame of life, almost as vignettes, drawn from daydreams, nightmares and everything in between.”
The thirteen song project showcases Dean’s gritty voice and bluesy tone, as well as, his songwriting prowess. Amongst the thirteen songs, the singer is a writer on every single one. Songs like “Big Blue Sky” and “Sweet Appalachia,” combine his captivating vocals with an incredible production that adds to ambiance of the record.
Alternatively, Dean’s talents shine in quieter moments too. Tracks six through nine showcase the power of story-telling, honesty, and authenticity in music. Standouts include “Train,” a haunting track and, of course, “Heavens To Betsy.” The latter, written when Dean was just nineteen yers old, is heart achingly story of a regret-filled man who its seeking redemption.
