If your 14-year-old self had a future note for you, what would it read? Would your dreams be the same? Would you have accomplished the goals you once had as a child?
Yesterday (Apr. 24), rising country star Carly Pearce celebrated her 28th Birthday with a personal note from her 14-year-old self. In a post on her Instagram, the note dated June 9, 2004 read:

“Dear Self,
Wow. I have a lot of memories in my life so far. Who knows what I will be doing when I open this letter. Hopefully I will be on my way to becoming a famous recording artist in Nashville.”
The note continues with…

“My main goal in life is to become a famous recording artist in country music. I want to sing on the Grand Ole Opry so bad! Music means the world to me and I know that one day, if I push myself, I will share my voice with the world.”
Today, Pearce would make her 14-year-old self proud. The talented singer-songwriter made her Grand Ole Opry debut back in May 2015 and released her first studio album, Every Little Thing, a little over six months ago in October 2017. Days later, Pearce received her first number one single when the title track hit the top of the charts. While her second single, “Hide The Wine” continues to climb the charts, Pearce proves that talent, hard work, and passion can lead you in the right direction.
We named Carly Pearce as one of our “5 Artists You Should Be Listening To” last September. You can listen to her music below and don’t miss her this summer on Rascal Flatts’ “Back To Us” Tour with Dan + Shay. The show hits the New York area on Friday, July 6th at Northwell Health Jones Beach Theater.
Happy 28th Birthday, Carly!

Nash FM 94.7’s Katie Neal with New York Country Swag’s Christina Bosch & Stephanie Wagner
Coming off of their latest album release, Brothers Osborne stopped by the Hackensack Meridian Health Stage 17 at the Nash FM 94.7 studios last night (Apr. 24) to chat with DJs Katie Neal and Jesse Addy about their brand new album Port Saint Joe and the making of the new project.
Partnering with Nash FM, New York Country Swag hosted a giveaway for the event, inviting followers to attend the intimate concert through a ticket giveaway contest hosted on our Instagram. Stephanie and Christina, from the New York Country Swag team, hopped on stage with Katie Neal to greet the audience as well as introduce them to what New York Country Swag is all about before Brothers Osborne hit the stage.
The duo sang the debut single off the record to kick off the performance, “Shoot Me Straight” as well as “Weed, Whiskey, and Willie” and “Pushing Up Daisies”. TJ announced that although they would be playing new record tracks, of course, they would play “some oldies, but goodies”. Chatting about the goals of the album, TJ explained that over the two years that have passed since Pawn Shop was released, they have matured a lot and played hundreds of shows. They are now confident in the artists they have become and feel this record is a more improved version.
They closed their performance with the song that really got everything started for them, “Stay A Little Longer” and you could hear the audience singing along to every word, then after asking for audience participation the boys sang their upbeat hit “Ain’t My Fault”. Their hilarious banter along with their incredible guitar and vocal skills made for one of the best Hackensack Meridian Health Stage 17 shows Nash FM 94.7 has hosted. The audience was excited to be able to sit and hear stories about the recording process and then to finally get to meet the duo after their set.
Keep up with all things Nash FM on our social media pages and stay tuned for more giveaways for your favorite artists.

Whether you’ve heard it on your favorite pop radio station, country stations like Nash FM 94.7, or on television during the Target commercial, Zedd, Grey, and Maren Morris‘ “The Middle” is a huge smash hit, sitting in the top spot on the charts for it’s 4th week in a row.
Morris was chosen after 12 other major artists like Demi Lovato, Camila Cabello, Bebe Rexha didn’t quite sound perfect to the producers.

Jordan Rager grew up in Loganville, Georgia, a very small town that didn’t offer much to do. Yes, he played baseball but from an early age, he believed that music was an absolute dream job. His mother, one of his biggest supporters, would take him to bars and clubs when he was merely 14-15 years old. That is where Rager cut his teeth, learning to perform for all different people, his mother always sat in the front row and then escorted him out immediately after he got off the stage. “I remember walking off stage that first show and I told her ‘I want to keep doing that’,” he tells us in a recent interview.
After finishing high school Rager decided college wasn’t for him and pursued his music career. “I really wanted to dig into this music thing and give it my best shot,” he explained. “I picked up a guitar and started learning how to play and started writing songs.” He started writing with a few buddies who grew up in surrounding towns and they would carpool to Nashville a few times every month, eventually leading him to make the move permanently when he was 19 years old. Focusing mainly on songwriting when he first got to town as well as what kind of artist he wanted to be and what he wanted to say, he worked hard to write music every day.
Eventually, Rager was asked to join Justin Moore’s Off the Beaten Path Tour, which gave him his first experience being out on the road. “The coolest thing about Justin is that he is genuinely an awesome dude on and off stage, so I really feel bad looking back now, but I basically shadowed him. I followed him around like a lost puppy because I wanted to learn everything I could from him,” he laughed. Learning not only the way that Moore interacted with his fans but also with the band leader, the crew, and even the vendors at the venue, he made sure everyone felt appreciated, something Rager has taken with him and will never forget.
His latest single “One of the Good Ones” was released earlier this month with Riser House Entertainment. The nostalgia-filled jam was written by Ross Ellis, Chris Stevens, and James McNair. Ellis, who he is close friends with Rager, sent him the demo, knowing what a big Atlanta Braves fan, in particular, a Chipper Jones fan he was. “From the first listen I knew it was something I had to have. I’ve never felt that way about a song before. It’s never been a first listen, that’s mine,” he explained. He told us about how it has been a few years since he released music, but now he feels that he has a real grasp on who he is as an artist and “One of the Good Ones” is the perfect reintroduction to that new sound. “I didn’t know the difference between, ‘Oh that’s a good song’ and ‘Oh that’s a good song for me’. And I think this time around I have a much better idea of what I should and shouldn’t be doing.”
After signing a recording and publishing deal with Riser House Records, Rager talks what it’s like to work closely with his friend and fellow Riser House Records artist, Mitchell Tenpenny. “He is a good bud of mine and I get to watch all angles of his rise to stardom, which is cool and it’s been awesome to see him get going because that dude is immensely talented and one of the hardest workers I know, its great to see a good guy win.” Tenpenny joined New York Country Swag for a Live Swag Session in Times Square back in December.
Looking ahead, Rager is recording a brand new EP with songs that he has written over the past year and is excited to have his fans hear his new music. “I’m excited to get back on the road and kind of reintroducing myself to places I’ve been before and going back and playing some of my favorite parts and playing my new stuff for people. I can’t wait to see what everyone thinks about it and I am hoping for a great 2018,” he tells us.
Be on the lookout from new music from Jordan Rager, be sure to be following him on Facebook,Twitter, and Instagram.

Releasing their new album today, available everywhere you purchase music, Brothers Osborne have once again produced a stunning collection of songs true to themselves and their brand. As of Sunday night, they were named ACM Vocal Duo of the Year for the second year in a row, have won two CMA Awards and have also been nominated for two Grammy Awards since their first music was released in late 2013. Port Saint Joe was produced by Jay Joyce who is responsible for producing Eric Church and Little Big Town. The trio spent time at Joyce’s beachfront property in the Florida Panhandle on the water’s edge recording, reflecting and creating the new project, hence naming the project after that quaint town.
Everything that fans loved about their debut record Pawn Shop can be found here, however, the album as a whole is more concise. The duo has found the perfect blend of remaining relevant to country radio while keeping their rock-country roots. TJ’s voice is still as smooth and sultry as ever and John is still hands down one of the most talented guitar players in Nashville. Port Saint Joe is less about being upfront, in-your-face, but more about subtly making an impact deep in your bones.
The first single debuted off the record, “Shoot Me Straight” is the biggest rock track, heavy with John’s signature guitar riffs. The album is perfect for the summertime, with hints of beach influences as well as plenty of liquor-soaked lyrics paying homage to some country legends (“Drank Like Hank” and “Weed, Whiskey, and Willie”)
“Slow Your Roll”, kicks off the album with the sound of waves and a grooving melody about taking your time and just slowing down, while “Tequila Again” is an ode to bad decisions, comparing falling in love with tequila the way you fall in love with a woman. “I Don’t Remember Me (Before You)” is a standout love song (“I’ve seen pictures and I’ve heard stories about the boy I used to be / but I don’t remember me, before you”). “Pushing Up Daisies (Love Alive)” is also a ballad highlighting affection that will never die.
“While You Still Can” closes out Port Saint Joe a mid-tempo lyric about making the most of life while we are still here. (“Everything you thought would last forever / never lasts forever like you planned / don’t let your now become a never so take life by the hands / while you still can”)
Stream the album below on Spotify, or purchase your copy on iTunes here.

Flying straight from Las Vegas, where he accepted his third consecutive ACM Entertainer of the Year award to New York City, Jason Aldean continued his album release week with performances at Opry City Stage, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and finally, Hackensack Meridian Health Stage 17 in the Nash FM 94.7 Studios.
Aldean took time to chat with Katie Neal and Jesse Addy about the music and stories behind the tracks off of his new album, Rearview Town. In between broadcasting a few of the songs, Aldean was joined by his band to perform some of his biggest hits including “Take A Little Ride”, “Tattoos On This Town”, “My Kinda Party”, as well as closing the Up Close and Country Performance with “Dirt Road Anthem”. He also performed the debut single off the project “You Make It Easy” as well as the title track, “Rearview Town”.
He discussed his High Noon Neon Tour and bringing along rising stars Lauren Alaina and Luke Combs, reminiscing how in the past he has had some incredible acts open for him right before they blew up in the genre including Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, and Eric Church. “We’ve tried to time it where those guys were right on the verge of becoming big stars, we looked at it and we thought Lauren was one of those people,” he told the DJs “And Luke Combs, I loved his first single, “Hurricane”, I thought that was great”.
Aldean explained that there are a few iconic venues in America, Madison Square Garden definitely being one of them and that he is excited to headline the famous arena for the second time this summer. The High Noon Neon Tour hits Madison Square Garden on August 11th, grab your tickets here. Tune in to the full performance below.
